Ben did a great job photographing our wedding. We chose him for his documentary-style photography, which prioritizes candid shots over staged shots (although he was open to requests for specific shots, if we had any). Ben is also skilled technically and can handle any not-so-ideal lighting conditions, like dark ballrooms and harsh summer sunshine. We are extremely pleased with our photo album!

My wife Erica and I chose Ben to be our photographer for both our engagement photos as well as for our wedding. Before I describe how pleased Erica and I were with the photos Ben took, I also think that it is important to state how professional Ben was throughout the entire process. Ben was easy to communicate with and went out of his way to fit our schedule. Planning a wedding can be a stressful process and Ben's continued flexibility was greatly appreciated. Hiring Ben to photograph our wedding was one of the, if not the, best wedding decisions we made. We planned the majority of our wedding from out-of-state, and did our initial and early exchanges via email and Skype. From the beginning, Ben was accessible and invested in really getting to know who we were and what we envisioned. We were able to meet with Ben prior to the wedding weekend, during which Ben took his time with us. Already, we were able to sense that Ben was both incredibly professional and courteous. He has a quiet nature, but it's obvious his quietness denotes a focus that assures you his wheels are spinning and that he is visualizing at every moment the opportunities to capture. Fast forward to the big day, Ben, and his calming presence, were a welcomed sight. Ben was flexible in alternating between staged and natural moments. He was directive when we needed direction, and at other times encouraged us to pretend he wasn't there. He not only was somehow able to be everywhere at once - capturing all moments from multiple angles - he was also respectful and sweet to guests without being an ounce of intrusive. But, most importantly, Ben’s photos continue to make me smile as big a smile as the first time I saw them. He is accurate when he says he is a photo-journalist. The photos he took go beyond capturing the “moments,” they captured the visceral, emotional experience of the day. Far from 2-dimensional, they are brimming with as much joy and love, happiness and pride that we felt in the very moment. And that is a precious time capsule I’ve been so wonderfully gifted. Not to mention, his photographs are just visually stunning and impressively creative in ways I imagine only a keen, nuanced photographer would know how to do. So, yes, I would recommend Ben. We highly recommend, Ben DeFlorio, as a photographer. He was the photographer for our wedding in June of 2012. Ben did an amazing job, he knew what moments to catch, and was sure to ask about any photos we wanted. Since then Ben has been the photographer for my brother’s wedding, and he also did family pictures for us. In every event we have been more than satisfied with the pictures!
