Can't speak highly enough for DJ Dave of Ascent DJ Productions. DJ Dave was the DJ and MC at our wedding in June 2023 at the North Lake Tahoe Event Center. DJ Dave came recommended by our wedding planners, who curate a cream-of-the-crop vendor list, of which DJ Dave was at the top for their events. DJ Dave is top-notch, uber professional DJ and MC, and encyclopedic in his music knowledge. DJ Dave provided a template document of songs needed for the wedding event. Anxious about how to approach this, we put together a few Spotify playlists that were "of the ilk" or "in spirit" or the genre/styles of music we wanted for cocktail hours, dinner, and dancing. We were shy about the wedding music, knowing the kind of music we like, but also not necessarily being the person with the iPod or running Spotify at parties.... and also not knowing what songs we wanted for particular moments (ie, walking down the aisle!). DJ Dave was a patient and wise steward! About 10 days out from our event, we had nearly a 3 hour phone call with DJ Dave going step-by-step through the event. It was a SUPER fun back and forth that had us all rattling off songs and genres and then altogether singing along! He helped us re-vamp the playlist for dinner. Importantly, DJ Dave help set the context and scene for how the wedding day would go, each part of the event -- whether people would be up and chatting and the music needed to be more background, or else people would be dancing and rowdy and we need the music to bring the party! Altogether, DJ Dave MCd a perfect wedding day. He was cool, calm, collected, amazing organized, kept the day on schedule, moved the party between two different rooms at the venue seamlessly. He had speakers for inside, speakers for outside, lights, lapels, microphones, and more. Everything worked on the first go -- not a single blunder or blip. It could not have been a more professional set-up. Above all else, DJ Dave brought the dance party! Folks were on the dance floor from the first song to the last. Every song built on the one prior, feeling the energy of the crowd.

Dave was awesome! We had an eclectic playlist and Dave did a great job adding variety. At the end of the night he played 90’s-2010 throwbacks and our group loved it! He even let some people do some kareoke which was pretty funny. Thank you Dave!

DJ Dave was amazing. He was so patient and kind throughout the planning process, making sure to take into account all of our preferences. He made and remade playlists for multiple occasions at our wedding (ceremony, photos, and reception) and helped us to craft our other wedding weekend playlists so that there weren’t too many repeat songs throughout the weekend. During reception, he kept everyone on the dance floor with his great music and energy— we had a blast! Then, when he was wrapping up and we were switching to a playlist, he helped us to adjust the volume on the new sound system and even gave us a helpful tip about how to auto-blend songs on Spotify to skip the awkward pause in between songs. He was fantastic and we highly recommend him for your wedding!

Dave is such a great DJ to work with. He made everything every easy and was willing to attend our boring, long pre -wedding zoom. His guidance was a big part of the success of the wedding. AND, the music was great!

My wife and I cannot express in words how amazing DJ Dave (Ascent DJ Productions) was to work with, both before and during our wedding. Our day was a dream come true, and Dave played a pivotal role in making it the most memorable day of our lives! From the very beginning, Dave showed incredible professionalism and a deep understanding of the kind of music we wanted to have played. He met with us multiple times on Zoom before the big day to ensure he knew exactly what we wanted (especially when we didn't), and he went above and beyond to ensure our desires were met. Dj Dave was awesome. From start to finish, his communication and energy was great. He was able to help bring our vibe to life - he let us use some of our own songs/playlist suggestion, while adding his DJ experience. Our dance floor was packed all night and his late night DJ voice is a nice extra. Your DJ narrates the flow of your special day, you will be in great hands if you decide to go with DJ Dave!

My husband and I could not have been more happy with our experience with Ascent DJ. From planning stages to the event itself, Dave was such a joy to work with and earned our full trust throughout. We had specific, niche song requests for our ceremony that he accommodated without hesitation and he made sure we got our hope of having all our guests on the dance floor by the end of the night. If you are lucky enough to have Dave free on your wedding weekend you should book him right now - he is truly the very best.

Dave was incredible! We had guests drenched in sweat and barefoot from dancing all night long. He felt the vibe of our guests and ran with it. We had so many compliments towards our DJ.

In addition to throwing an amazing dance party, Dave was also incredibly responsible and respectful during our wedding planning process. I was able to chat with Dave about our ceremony and reception music fully. I felt very comfortable and confident that he knew what he was doing. It's so nice not to have to worry about such big details like music throughout your wedding day.

We were really struggling finding a DJ in our price range that had good reviews. My partner found Dave on google and emailed him. He was responsive and communicative. A few days before the wedding we talked to him on the phone for almost two hours planning everything out! He was so kind and asked great questions and was so thoughtful. The actual wedding went so smoothly because he was a great DJ and MC. I can't imagine a better person to DJ a wedding. Exactly what we needed. All of our friends and family said they couldn't believe how great the DJ was. HIRE HIM!

DJ Ascent was beyond amazing! He was so flexible with last minute weather changes and ensured we had music for our ceremony with 15 min notice to change locations. Throughout the planning process he listened attentively to all our desires and preferences and boy did he deliver! The music throughout the reception was exactly our vibe and he really made our wedding full of joy and excitement. We had so many guests give us positive feedback on the music and the ambiance thanks to our amazing DJ. He was prepared, professional, organized, friendly, and provided accurate suggestions to fill in the gaps of our music itinerary based on my husband and I's personal music genre preference. DJ Ascent was very fairly priced and provided us with helpful suggestions to stay within our budget. I highly HIGHLY recommend him for your special day or any other event requiring a DJ.
