About
I am a Board Certified Chaplain at a hospital in AL, have a Master's of Divinity, Ordained, and endorsed by BGCT. I officiate weddings and I am also a notary, therefore you do not have to find a notary in addition to an officiant. I have colleagues available for weddings also. We officiate all over Alabama, including Mobile, Gulf Shores, the panhandle of Florida and the Gulf of MS. In my photos you see Chaplain David Kohn & Chaplain David Peacock both in Birmingham, AL, who can officiate if I am not available for booking, and Chaplain Tim Mayhall who covers the Dothan area of Alabama for Agape Weddings. They are also Board Certified Chaplains, with MDivs, and are ordained. Between the 4 of us, we should be able to provide an officiant for your special day.
I am a published author and blogger (unveiledanduntangled.com), therefore the ceremony is beautiful, meaningful, and I work with you to ensure the ceremony fits your personalities, your relationship, goals, reveals the depth of your commitment and story of your love. I revise until you love it! Most couples say they have tears well up as they read the ceremony because of the way it touches their hearts, and is sacred, intimate and tells their story.
Elopement packages with venue available for couple and up to 8 guests for additional charges above officiant fees. No reception area available and parking limited to 4 cars. You may have a small cake and toast and areas area available for those circumstances. There are 4 places outside which accomodate more people, and 2 places inside for a smaller number.
We will travel to your home, church, park, or other venue within a reasonable distance. Outside of our area, there would be an additional travel fee. We have offciated in many places and at various times of the day. Chaplain Tim officiated in a field of sunflowers, and Chaplain Kim at midnight at the fountain by the bus station downtown, at 6:00 a.m. one morning at her house for a healthcare worker needing to get married before her shift, and officiated for a young man in the Army on leave for only 1 day and his bride flew in from Texas, they all met at the fountain at Linn Park. I have officiated countless weddings where the planned officiant could not follow through for various reasons, and have offciated on the day of being initially contacted. My first wedding was on New Year's Eve and have had many since then on or near holidays. I understand that life is full and each couple has their own story and circumstances.
I have also directed and decorated for many weddings and willing to work with you on anything you need.
We will officiate for religious, spiritual, or non-religious weddings. We have many options available for sand ceremonies, unity candles, wine ceremonies, including the children, and more. Due to ecclesiastical endorsements we are not able to officiate same sex weddings.
We would love to be part of your special day!
Blessings!
Chaplain Kim
