Based in Lafayette, Colorado, Acoctli Vocals is the umbrella LLC for a flexible roster of musicians that starts with me, the vocalist, accompanied by one to six instrumentalists as required for wedding music. I'm a band manager and multi-genre singer with a dozen years of experience appearing at numerous music, cultural, and seasonal festivals, corporate affairs, fundraisers, museums, schools and universities, retirement residences, libraries, small businesses, galleries, arts venues, and popular clubs. My current groups include High Standards Jazz Ensemble (Great American Songbook jazz standards, bossa nova); MunD'ial (Latin, French Chanson, Jazz Manouche); Boedo Ave (Argentine tango and Gypsy Jazz/Jazz Manouche); Colectivo Acocotli (Latin and Mexican 50s-60's "Epoca de Oro" classics). Clients may opt for musical theatre, pop, and folk genre song sets, as well as light classical or strictly wedding pieces. A wedding shower and rehearsal dinner become memorable with lovely music; even better if it segues gracefully into your day-of-event theme. Next, gift your betrothed a private pre-wedding Latin, jazz, or French serenade at home. The stages of your wedding day, from guest arrival, interludes, processional, ceremony, and exit, to cocktails and dinner, have their perfect songs. If I don't know it yet, I'll learn it to add to our final list. I will even write and set personalized lyrics to your favorite melodies. Planning together, my clients and I select from an extensive repertoire spanning decades and lands, embracing timeless multi-generational hits now being revived by much younger artists like Samara Joy, Laufey, and LaFourcade. Grandparents and parents will delight in many familiar songs and artists I cover -- Ella, Jobim, Billie, Lara, Tony, Gainsbourg, Sarah, Infante, Duke, Django, Trenet, and Gardel. Each selection is sung at a comfortable volume in its original language of English, Spanish, French, or Portuguese, providing an easy soundtrack that encourages conversation and enhances a warm, romantic ambiance. Spanish-speaking guests will appreciate that I'm fully bilingual and conversant in the language. Most of Colorado is within my travel range, including the mountains, and my sound system is suitable for indoor or outdoor performance. Over time, we'll build a personalized and thoughtfully curated setlist to suit your style, taste, and vision. An avid collector of authentic vintage clothing and 30s-60s fashions, I visually link to the musical eras and genres I love with refined, playful elegance; my musicians are likewise professionally attired. The final touch is coordinating my outfit with your wedding colors and theme.
