Kate + Phillip
are married!

We're married!  Thank you so much to everyone who supported us through this major life transition.  The wedding was truly a team effort and we couldn't have done it without you.  We're finally getting settled back into our lives in Chicago, and catching up on posting photos.  Check out the News + Updates page for a smattering of our favorite amateur shots.  You can see all our professional photos here!  And our video is done!  The highligh reel awaits here...

A little about us, for those who have yet to meet one or both of us...

We met in 2007 during our senior year at Stanford University (visit the Kiss + Tell page for a more detailed account), and have been living together in Chicago for the past two-and-a-half years.  Phillip is currently a structural associate at the Chicago-based engineering firm Sargent & Lundy, and he works in the Power Delivery Department.  He is the social planner in the couple and makes sure that we get in our fair share of fun dates at concerts, shows, tours, and other events around Chicago.  I, Kate, am the food planner.  So I make sure we eat a lot of good food.  Phillip grew up in Florida and is a die-hard Miami Marlins fan.  He has two older brothers, his best men, who you can read more about on the Wedding Party page.  Phil is very organized (except when he falls asleep on an airplane and 'loses' his iPhone).  I thought I was organized, and then I met Phillip.  If I had to describe Phil in three words, they would be: loyal, silly, and dependable.  And cute.  And smart.  And sweet.  And generous.  He's pretty great.

Hi, I'm Kate, and I'll be your website and wedding guide until the big day.  I've been in Chicago since 2008, pursuing a PhD in Anthropology at the University of Chicago.  I recently started a joint program witht the school of Social Services Administration, and will be getting my Master's degree in Social Work in 2013, and then finishing my PhD after that.  And no, I still don't know what I want to do after I finish, but hopefully something with adoptive families.  I grew up in a small town in Oregon, and am an only child.  I play volleyball and basketball here in Chicago when I have time, and take the occasional dance class.  I love animals (always had at least two pets in the house as a kid, sometimes three or four) and have been pestering Phil to get a cat or a French bulldog.  Maybe after the wedding... In short, we are bicoastal, we are sappy and sweet, we are TV junkies, we love good food and cute critters, and of course, we're crazy about each other. :)
