Jira is the best! I loved her as my makeup artist for my wedding. She was attentive, fun, and great at her craft. The whole experience was enjoyable. I had gotten the makeup test done at her salon a few weeks before the wedding, and knew right away she was a PRO. She took some before and after pictures, and I'm not sure if I ever looked that good. Lol. On the day of, she and her team arrived early and the whole experience was seamless. Even my bridesmaids raved about her and her team and they can be a picky bunch. Highly recommended!

Amazing service, unbeatable price

Amazing service! Was able to get bride, 7 bridesmaids, officiant (SIL), and 2 moms HMU done with 3 stylists in 5hrs. Even offered a discount for the large group. The stylists were all so friendly and we looked amazing!! And the price was unbeatable compared to other bay area companies. Would highly recommend to any bay area bride! My bridesmaids are still raving about how good their HMU looked at the end of the night :)

Wow pretty!

Jira did my hair & make-up for my pre-wedding photos & on my wedding day. I have short hair and was so happy that she was able to be creative with the hair accessories creating a tiara effect with the pearl silver vine wrapped in my hair. The make-up for both days were beautifully done!
I was so anxious leading up to my day & Jira made me feel so comfortable. I completely turned myself over to her. She did not disappointment!
Highly recommend Jira for your wedding and all of your special occasions!

I was glowing!

I reached out to Jira's team for myself and my mom for my wedding in Santa Cruz. She matched me with one of her stylists, Anna, who came onsite.

Prior to the wedding, I also did a trial in their Burlingame location and Jira totally nailed the hair and makeup look I wanted! It was incredible!

Back to the wedding - Anna arrived on time at 9am. She started with my mom who was indecisive about what she wanted - Anna quickly was able to narrow it down and produced a beautiful updo with natural makeup - my mom was so pleased.

Then came my turn - we had great conversations during the whole process! She was so easy to work with and although it "felt" like a lot of makeup (I never do foundation etc personally) it came out looking so natural, clean and pretty, and also didn't feel heavy at all. Airbrush makeup is wonderful. I was legitimately GLOWING on my big day and every picture came out perfectly.

I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful team. Booking was easy and scheduling the trial was extremely flexible. If you want to look your absolute best self (wedding or any other event) you have to choose Wowpretty!

Would highly recommend!

Jira did my hair and makeup for my wedding this year, and I highly recommend her! She is amazing at Asian makeup and also very attentive to personal preferences. For instance, I was worried about my bangs blowing in the wind, and she helped style and spray them so it wasn't a problem. I had a lot of dance performances during my wedding, and the hair stayed up all night! My makeup also lasted through the day and night really well. On top of all that, Jira is extremely responsive and on top of her email, which makes coordinating logistics very smooth. I'm really happy with my wedding hair and makeup. Thank you so much Jira! :)

Wonderful!

Jira is very friendly and professional! She was super prompt with emails, appointments, and was on time (if not early) for the big day! She did such a fantastic job with my hair and makeup and I can't thank her enough!! She and Anna worked with my bridesmaids and they all looked amazing also! We all got many, many compliments. Wowpretty was also able to schedule me with limited notice after I had a negative experience with a previous stylist. I recommend them to everyone! Thank you!!

The best beauty skill

This review is so overdue. My wedding was 5 years ago now I have 2 kids boy and girl. We found wowpretty.com from the projectwedding.com Love this company specially Jira. She is very professional, passional and good kills the beauty. She was my makeup artist on my wedding day. Sooyeon and Nancy were there at my wedding too. They took care of my wedding party.

Jira has a salon in Burlingame call "Jira Couture Salon" 1200 Howard Ave, suite. My family and I have met her for a hair cut, coloring, and waxing. He salon provides all beauty services. Don't miss to check it out.

What can I say!? Everyone loves Wowpretty Makeup & Hair and they are AMAZING! Our wedding planner (A Monique Affair) put us in touch with Wowpretty because they have won all of these amazing awards over the years and really know how to pamper you for your wedding. My fiance and I wanted to make sure that our moms had a great hair and makeup artist, as they were coming in from out of town and wouldn't have their usual stylists available. Ask for Anna - she's amazing! She arrived at our house 10 minutes early and got all setup to take care of our family without any issue. Our moms got so many compliments throughout the wedding and reception, and being able to have your hair and makeup done at home without having to make it down to the studio is just a treat. Oh, and Wowpretty has a few Mandarin speaking artists on staff if your parents are more comfortable - just ask! They were very responsive by both email and phone. Oh, and they do book up fast so I'd call at least a month in advance.

Chose Wowpretty, the most reason is closest to my venue and heard from our venues recommendation. We ended up getting makeup and hair done at Jira Couture Salon in burlingame ( their new salon location) along with my 5 bridesmaids, 2 mothers makeup and hair. Everyone looked so fab, flawless skin thanks for the airbrush, hair stay all night (even so much wind on the day). I love my 1st hair style and makeup but I love even more my evening look. we love everything about this company, clean blushes (salon), reasonable price, good customer services, respond my email fast.

Can't be THANK YOU enough to Wowpretty Agency, their team is so amazing. They finished my wedding party within 4 hours, total 7 girls Makeup and Hair. Nancy and Yong were our stylists for all my girls. Makeup and hair stay all night long even that day was not a nice day with the rain. Jira is my stylist.

We will go back to get the hair cut and color done soon with Jira and Victor

Jira is worth every penny plus more. I am so glad I found Jira one week before my wedding, after very disappointing trial with someone else. I did a trial with Jira and as soon as she started working on me, I knew I could trust her. She was so meticulous with everything. My skin was flawless! My eyes were beautiful. Everything was perfect.
The most important thing to note is the longevity of the makeup, which is very important for wedding day. I felt beautiful after she worked on me and after 10 hours (2 pm to midnight), the make up is still perfect. I felt really sad taking the makeup off at the end of the night. I would recommend her service to anyone!

Can't thank you enough to WOWPRETTY TEAM. One the most important to make my dream come true, is Jira of Wowpretty. I met Jira 10 years ago for my 1st wedding in Oakland.
10 years after I never thought I would meet her and her team again. Thank you facebook to let us connect. Why this company is so good?
1. So many stylists working there different rates, that you can choose of. I had a tight budget but I chose Jira.
2. They do hair cut and color as well at their new location. How convenient is?
4. They has a VDO team as well " San Francisco Videos" and photographer.
5.This is my 2nd wedding, I didn't want to spend money Jira helped me and gave me the best deal.
6. I have full time job but Jira helped me for my wedding planning. It was so helpful. I spent 10K for my wedding and I got everything.

I was married on 2/14/15, found this company online and after speaking with several stylists I decided to choose them. $700 more than my budget but it was worth it.

I want to thank you the most very helpful, was Jira, who took care and respond all fast emails but she also were there for me whenever I needed. My first time got married, so do you? I didn't know anything and what happend on the day
But Jira spent her time share her experience and gave me such so many ideas, where to got veil, hair styles, makeup, groom hair cut. My hair color, flower in the day color and hair pins. Jira also cut my hair and color and her girl did my nails, her mane s Lily. I has a a small wedding only 175 guesses.

Jira also recommended me a good team for my tight budget last min VDO team " san francisco vedios" base in bay area as well. Jira was so beyond amazing and so easy to work with. As a new bride I had so many questions and she would respond so quickly to me through emails.

During my trial we tried 4 different hairstyles and Jira were all so good I had a hard time choosing but ending up picking one and was so happy with it! I got so many compliments on my hair and all my 5 bridesmaids absolutely loved their stylists. Jira had 3 assistants on my wedding day since I had so many ladies. 3 of my girls were so OMG picky but they nailed it.

Last month I heard my 2 friends, are going to get married they were my birdmaids on my wedding but the they already booked Jira team /company already. Yes they are good. It s worth it.

It was my wedding last Sat, the Nov 21st, 2015. We had a small wedding only 200 people but It won't have enough to thank you so much to Jira and her team Sooyeon to fit in our budget and made Our Dream Come True. After trying out endless bridal make up trials that left me unhappy, yes I was super picky, I was starting to get discouraged. Luckily, I met Jira team on Yelp and wedding wire. Their team did an amazing job and i would highly recommend this team to all my friends and family. no matter the occasion. I was the most nervous about makeup and hair on my wedding day. The story, I booked one makeup artist, she took my money and did a trial but 2 weeks before the day, She just gone. I found Jira salon from 2 of my girl friends used her services. I booked Jira w/o a trial right away after I saw her workes. I was so worry but the day turned out so relaxing.
Jira was the best arrived one hour before, I needed her extra time because I didn't have a trial. She finished the look that I wanted with 2 hours. I didn't need to say anything. She always said " Yes " to you but " No" when she had a best reason. Without her, I won't be the beautiful bride in my life ever. I owe her so much. Started writing her reviews all over the place.

My wedding was St Regis hotel in SF, I hired Wow Pretty for my m&h and 7 bridesmaids. They arrived 15 min before the timeline for setting up the area.
Jira has so many kills, she knew everything, stress free. She wrote all details down on paper my trial day but She did the same but better. Yoong took care of my girls makeup, everyone looked flawless, glowing. Sooyeon was hair stylist, she is good blow dry all hair dos. After wedding I went back to Jira (salon) to cut my hair short and darker color, love it. vivine -

Found Wowpretty from Yelp, Wedding Wire. Project Wedding, Style me Pretty, The Knot and all wedding sites. This company has so many good reviews all over the places.

We got 5 stylists to take care of my wife, 13 girls our family for our special day. Jira is super fun person, easy to work with, professional, quick with respond emails.

3 days before our wedding day, We went to Jira Couture Salon. Such a beautiful salon. It's clean, easy parking, good staffs, one stop beauty shop.
Jira gave me a 1st hair cut and a cut, color, wedding makeup trial for my wife. Also my wife and our families got nails done there but late in the after noon the same day.

2 days before our big day, we got a phone call and emailed from them, if we need anything.

On the wedding day, Jira called us to make sure everything perfect.

Love this company. Highly recommend of this team.

My stylist didn't show up on my wedding day. Last min, I called this company. They had 3 stylists for my wedding.

Thanks god! And thanks wedding wire. I found wowpretty at 10am this site. Jira picked up the phone. She was on her way to SF for a wedding.

Right after 10 min. Jira called me back and she said, She will bring 3 girls to take care of my 5 bms and myself. My tear came out and I m owe her so much.

On my wedding day, Those stylists were professional. I love then forever. They have so much skills, stuffs clean, wash thier hands before touching my face. They have 4 big suitcases, everything inside. You don't need to do anything just enjoy your special day.

Can you imagine, if your makeup gone w/o telling you and you get married that day.

After I came back from my honeymoon I came back to meet Jira and her salon. I took all girls for dinner. Not only just how nice they are but they also are lovely person and positive. I made so many fiends after my wedding special Jira.

I went to Jira make class this Oct, 2 hours 101 with her for 2 hours , color and cut. Love all that... I also love lily, she is a nail girl. Jira Couture Salon is super clean.

I have my 3 G friends gerting married 2016. I told them about this company. Thier prices are a liitle over my budget but it s worth it. I know I m married only one time. It is good investment.

Jira did an amazing job for makeup and hair for a photoshoot! The makeup was fresh and natural, felt beautiful! Fast response with calls and emails, easy and fun to work with! I had the absolute best experience with Elena She and her assistant, Sooyeon did hair and makeup for my bridal party, mom, and me on my wedding day. I really think that I have never looked better, and my girls looked gorgeous. As we were all interested in natural makeup looks, we all ended up looking just like glam, pumped-up versions of ourselves. Both Elena and Sooyeon were super sweet and fun to be with-- they made our long, beauty-filled morning really fun. They both listened to what we wanted and came up with great ideas when we had questions or were uncertain. Later that evening, people kept remarking on how much they loved my updo... and both my hair and my makeup survived hours of dancing. I couldn't recommend Elena more highly.

I'm so glad Elena did my makeup and hair for my wedding! She was such a sweet person and was just generally fun to have around the morning of the wedding! When I went in for my trial, I showed her a couple pictures of updos that I liked and she was able to combine both of them for a lovely hairstyle. I was scared my thin hair wouldn't hold but somehow she worked her magic and it lasted the whole night! My bridesmaids and mom were also very pleased with their hair. My makeup ended up looking great as well, natural just like I asked for. Her prices are reasonable compared to some of the outrageous prices out there for bridal hair and makeup, and I highly recommend her to any brides who want to look beautiful on their special day! WowPretty did a wonderful job on my H&M for my wedding day. Jira was my stylist and she arrived promptly and did her magic. She was able to deliver what I envisioned for my hair and gave me realistic expectations for that style with my outdoor ceremony in the damp ocean weather. The airbrush makeup stayed on till the end of the night and didn't feel heavy at all. My H&M looked great in pictures. I would definitely recommend WowPretty to do H&M for any special event. You would be in good hands.

We got married in Lana'i, Hawaii and Jira traveled to Hawaii to do our hair and makeup. Our wedding party included 3 bridesmaids, a flower girl, mother of bride, and myself. From the first time I met Jira for the trial consultation, she was a great listener about how I envisioned my look for the big day. She also recommended different ways to do my makeup to bring more attention to my eyes and ways to give the illusion of a slimmer face. At the same trial consultation, Jira's expert hands worked magic with my hair. I have long hair and it;s always long & straight. Within 30 min, Jira was able to give me 8 diff. styles, and each was so beautiful that it was difficult to pick one for the big day because I wanted them all. Jira was very flexible with her travel schedule that it made coordinating her flight and hotel very stress free for me as the bride. On our big day, I honestly have never ever felt and looked more beautiful. Keep in mind that the temperature was approaching 100F in Hawaii, there was no cloud in the sky, light wind, and I was in a very heavy tulle dress. With that said, Jira's expert hands and products made me feel so natural, as if I didn't have makeup on. I didn't feel at all like I was in danger of my makeup melting off. In fact, my makeup stayed on all afternoon and into the night and I never once needed a touch up (except for my lipstick). I quite literally took my husband's breath away (he cried as I walked down) that he, and all my family, commented on how beautiful the hair and makeup was. So many of my friends have asked for Jira's info. In the photos that my family took (we're still waiting for the professional photos as I write this) my skin looked so luminous, like i was glowing, my blush was the perfect shade giving me that "blushing bride" look, and my eyes have never been so perfectly smoked. I am so thankful for Jira's work in making my dream come true to help me feel literally like the prettiest girl in the world for one day.

A few year ago my sister had Jira did her makeup and hair for her wedding. I was very impressed on her work. She has done a marvelous job. I first met Jira in 2010 when my best friend got married and was referred to Jira + WowPretty for makeup for her/bride and the wedding party. I loved Jira and her team's friendliness, efficiency (great makeup and hair in good time on a wedding morning), and quality of work (hair and makeup last all morning noon and night). Just wanted to write a quick thank you for Jira and the Wowpretty Team who did such an amazing job on our wedding. Action speaks louder than words.

How time flies, it has been 3 years already but still remember every moment when my wife and I met before our ceremony.We had a Napa wedding back on September 21st 2013 and planning a wedding is not easy.We got excellent vendor referrals through the help of Jira from Wowpretty Makeup and Hair.Jira help book and made the appointments for our wedding vendors. My wife can 't speak English clearly but it was a blessing that Jira and the Wowpretty team were so patient.That made our wedding planning even easier. What was also nice was that the weather being super hot that day the makeup and everything stayed all day and all night.Just amazing, I can't believe how all the pictures come out so nice. I prefer to write a review here for Wowpretty/Jira team than on yelp. I've heard that Yelp will put the review through a the filter, anyway, I wanted to thank you Jira and her stylists who came alone with her for my wedding. They did such a wonderful job. My Makeup and Hair stayed perfect all day and all night.
In the beginning I thought Jira's wedding services were too expensive but when I saw how well Jira and her team performed on my wedding and gave me the look that I wanted I was so happy..They even came 15 minutes early and stayed 30 min extra. It was so nice of her.
It was not just the good services that Jira did for me but also the hair cut they did my fiance was excellent. Jira also gave me the makeup lesson that I purchased through Living Social she is having right now. I purchase the living social package.Jira also used her brand of cosmetics. Jira Couture Cosmetics is her own brand. I love her concealer and foundation. She gave me a sample and loved it so much that I need to buy some when we meet her for another makeup class. I also love the fact she gave me 10% off of the cosmetics and free shipping

Sorry for too late for the review. First, I want to Thank you Miss Elena, is from Wowpretty Professional makeup hair agency. Elena did my hair for my wedding, my hair looked great. I got so many compliments on it. It didn't really look like my trial run, but I was the one, who changed the hair updo to be hair down. My hair looked great and better LOL.

My makeup was nice. Elena started makeup at 5am-stayed with my reception(dinner)
Elena stayed with me all day and I purchased her diamond touchup package, which was $100 / hour but I got 20% discount because I booked her almost a year before my wedding day.

I have My trial session 2 times, I had to say Thank you so much for Jira of Wowpretty, all the fast respond emails all my questions and set up my 2 trial sessions. Jira was so helpful and super nice.

My trial 1st one was my engagement 8 months before the day and 2nd one was my wedding trial, which happened 1 wedding before my wedding day since I cut my hair too short so why we had the 2nd trial session and I bought the hair extension from Wowpretty in order to get the look I wanted (hair down)

Thank you again Wowpretty/Elena for making my dream come true. Elena is not good listener and also super professional. Love you!

Wowpretty Agency is just so AMAZING.
I had helped by Jira Wowpretty 's CEO and had Nancy and Anna to do my makeup & hair, 5 Bridesmaid, and 2 moms for my wedding @ Sonoma. They finished with my group just 3.30 hours. Wowpretty was one of the first vendors i hired almost immediately after i got engaged. I already knew that Jira was one of the best in the industry and i booked her quick because she gets booked up fast! I didn't even go in for a trial and went with my gut that she would do a great job. I ended up doing a trial after i booked her and it came out exactly the way i envisioned. She understood that i wanted to look natural but still have color. She took her time to make my hair and makeup perfect. On the day of the wedding, she and four of her makeup artists all arrived on time at my hotel. They worked their butts off to get myself, 8 of my bridesmaids and 2 mothers done in 3 hours! Jira made my makeup perfect and it stayed put all day ( 6 am-midnight) ! She is extremely talented at what she does. Do not hesitate to book her if you are looking for a top notch makeup/hair team!

Jira is amazing. Not only is she beautiful but she is also a very kind person. The thing I valued most able Jira is her honesty. So many vendors will tell you want to hear---not Jira---she straight up tells you the truth. You don't know how much I appreciated that.

She did an outstanding job helping me create the "look" I wanted for my wedding---1920s old Hollywood. My make-up and hair never looked so great. They looked so good, I now have her cut, color, and style my hair on a regular basis at her salon in San Mateo! Her team also did H & M for 6 other people in my wedding. All were pleased with her work and looked great.

Finally, Jira made communication super easy. She is very responsive over email, always returning calls/emails within 24 hours. Her contracting is straight forward and she was even EARLY to do my H & M on wedding day.

I hired Jira and her team to do hair and makeup for me, my bridesmaids, my future sister-in-law, and the mothers. Jira is the owner and head makeup artist for Wow Pretty. She is very talented and she makes what she does look effortless. Her team is professional, friendly, and, most importantly, very good at what they do. Jira did a terrific job at my hair & makeup trial and it was a no brainer to hire her. Additionally, if you want a guy's opinion, my now husband thought my hair and makeup from the trial looked great too. She has tons of experience and her website shows all the brides she has worked with and the positive testimonials. She's very responsive via email. On the wedding day, she and her team showed up promptly and efficiently got to work since we had so many people. The final product was gorgeous - natural, not overworked; it didn't even feel like I had makeup on. The airbrushing is awesome. It makes your skin look so smooth. Everyone was satisfied with their hair and makeup. I can vouch that all of the women's hair held up the entire night. It rained during my ceremony and my makeup still held. I thought her prices were reasonable given the quality product I was getting. With Jira and her team helping you on the day of, it's one less thing you need to worry about. As a bride, that's gold.

The first thing I learned when I started planning my wedding and looking for vendors was that everyone wants to be your friend, get your business, and take your money. I had already seen several stylist, and was actually already booked with one, but I booked with them because they were good nothing more.

At the trial, Jira was more than just a stylist, asking me for what I envisioned. She is an honest friend, someone who I felt wouldn't let me not have a beautiful and glamorous wedding. As a bride with a vision, you may think you know exactly what you want, but Jira would put her foot down on things she just knew wouldn't end up well. Take her advice, she sees many brides before and after and probably hears it all (the good, the bad, the thank you, and the regrets). I took her advice, and am so glad that I did. In fact, it's changed how I do my everyday make up, and I get compliments even though I'm not a bride anymore.

Other stylist, just did what I asked, and yes I looked beautiful, but you could tell they didn't share the same passion for my wedding day as I did. After my trial, I cancelled my other stylist and booked with WowPretty. Trust me, you know you've found the right one, when they share the same excitement about your wedding as you do. I was a BM for my best friend wedding. she hired Jira / Wow Pretty on her wedding 5 years ago so now It was my turn and look for a good makeup artists and hair stylists for my wedding 7/10/2009. I decided to hire Wow Pretty team which had all what I wanted airbrush, Makeup, hair, travel, big team, and touchup needed

The price was OVER my budget but unfortunately that I liked her/her team. I, 7 BMS, and 2 moms needed M&H done. The result was so excellent. Jira was SO Great and also Sylive, Yoong, Elena, and another guy I can not remember his name. Our M&H was last - midnight but started from 8am , not needed touchup much just for one time lipstick and a power touchup which provided from Jira cosmetic, called Jira (couture ) I think, and also they were a good team work and good attitude. I would recommend to every bride.

They had positive energy, on time, and natural professional. A makeup artist will be the 1st vendor on your wedding day so it is very important to choose the right team to start on your big day. it is not just only M&H for wedding that they can do but also provide you a good hi-light and cut before my big day.

Yoong a senior styles at wowpretty did a great job on my hair and make up for my wedding day. I received many compliments on my hair and makeup. The make up stayed on the whole day and it came out looking very natural and very nice in person and in pictures. Jira is amazing! I worked with Jira for my engagement session and also on my wedding day. She is very good about listening to what I want and was able to create the looks that I wanted for my engagement session and my wedding. She and her team worked on me and my 3 bridesmaids and everyone looked so beautiful! On my wedding day, I had originally wanted my hair down. It was an outdoor ceremony, but just my luck, there were STRONG winds outside. Jira was quick, calm, and collected with plan B and ended up giving me a beautiful updo and it stayed put! Jira and her team are very professional -- they arrived a few minutes early and finished in time for my wedding photo sessions to begin. This type of professionalism is so important because you do not need added stress on your wedding day.

I had my trial with Senior Stylist Yoong at Wowpretty and I absolutely loved her. My wedding was on March 2009, and I was so delighted that I found someone who can do an amazing job with air brush makeup. I usually never wear makeup, but after the trial, my mom and sister were very impressed with Yoong's abilities.On the day of the wedding she came with another stylist to take care of my bridesmaids so that she could focus on me.

She arrived on time and did a wonderful job and wowpretty is a great vendor that you can count on for your wedding day.
I recommend Yoong for doing you hair and make up for any special event..

Jira is not your ordinary makeup artist, she is a makeup magician! Having worked with a few other makeup artists on previous occasions, I can truly speak to the difference. She does not make the stiff and chalky faces that you often see on traditional brides. Rather, her artwork is very light and natural-looking, as well as fashionable. My fiance was so amazed by the results of my hair & makeup trial that he kept saying "it's like the work of magic!" I had always dreamed of walking down the aisle looking my best. Jira did my engagement session and wedding day hair and makeup last year and I couldn't be happier with the results on both occasions. She made me look and feel so beautiful and glamorous. (One of my guy friends even told me that I looked like a model at the wedding!) Usually, I don't like to wear much make-up but Jira is truly an artist and can make anyone feel/look beautiful and natural, which is pretty significant when it comes to wedding events. I have some acne scarring and blemishes and I was afraid that these would be visible in the wedding photographs but she was able to conceal these imperfections and still have the makeup look natural. Jira is really sweet, professional, easy to talk to, responsive, detail-oriented, and good at listening to what you want. She really takes the time to listen and understand what you're looking for.

For both my engagement session and wedding day, I had the airbrush makeup and fake lashes put on - which I highly recommend for the bride. The makeup lasts for over 12+ hours and Jira gave me a complimentary touch-up kit for use throughout the day. (Although, I didn't have to touch up at all for the rest of the day). I brought my own lipstick (but this is a more personal thing because I'm more picky about this). Depending on the package you choose, Jira will help you figure out how much time is needed to get everyone's H/M done and also anything else that might come up.

On the wedding day, Jira and her assistant arrived punctually at my hotel and they were both so fun, friendly, and professional to work with. They did such a great job on me and my bridesmaids. (I'm Asian and a few of my bridesmaids are Caucasian but all of our makeup came out beautiful). Also, our hair stayed in place all day, which is pretty impressive given all the moving around.

Her services were worth every penny and more. Wedding hair and makeup is so important! And so is trust. After the engagement session, I knew that I could trust Jira and WoWPretty for the big day. I cannot recommend WoWPretty enough.

Sylvie from Wow pretty did my make-up for my wedding. We did the Air-brush make-up. Our trial went well, but for the day-of, I requested Sylvie make some minor adjustments to her original make-up. She recalled our colors and original plan to the dot and was very flexible about my requests. Sylvie made me look gorgeous and I still looked like myself, which was exactly what I asked of her. My make-up lasted all day and all night. I only had to re-touch my lipstick and blot some oil off twice. Sylvie was a pleasure to work with, she is very sweet and accomodating, she listens to your concerns and requests and I would highly recommend Sylvie to others.

For our June 28, 2008 wedding, I am eternally grateful that I booked WowPrettys services for my hair and makeup (H&M). Jira T., owner of WowPretty, was the first artist I visited, and I would gladly repeat my choice. Her talent and passion for the work is abundantly evident, and she is professional in every way.

Trials:
My first trial was in Dec 2007, for a cost of $125. I use make-up infrequently, so relied on photos from a recent issue of a Hong Kong wedding magazine to convey the effect I wanted to achieve: a natural, glowing look that is fancier than usual, but not overly dramatic. Jira listened and also gave feedback and pointed out which looks would work better for a real life wedding, as opposed to on models in a studio.

I decided to try a few new techniques that I had not previously considered. The first was the air-brush foundation. All I did (and Jira continuously gave clear instructions) was close my eyes and hold my breath while she sprayed liquid foundation all over my face. Just felt like rain mist which dried very quickly into one smooth covering. Highly recommended.

The second technique was false eyelashes. Jira attached them with minimal irritation to my eyes, and when I looked in the mirror, what a difference they do help to achieve a much lusher look, especially in photos. Again, highly recommended.

I felt Jira was very down-to-earth and not pushy at all in trying to up-sell her skills and talent. She is decisive and efficient, but was constantly seeking my feedback. She also liked to keep a friendly banter going, although English is not her first language. I booked her within a week by sending her a check for 50% deposit.

In May, I emailed Jira a photo of an up-do that I liked, and she thought it would work very nicely. She did recommend, though, that I get my hair trimmed appropriately before our second trial, so I had her do it at a salon space that she rents in San Mateo for $50. I was quite happy with the result long layers on both sides, with side bangs.

After reviewing the first trial photos, Jira thought that the first color scheme lilac/purple might be a bit too pale. So at my second trial, two weeks before the wedding (another $125), we chose a deeper palette of brown and rose tones for a warmer and richer effect, with touches of lilac to match my sisters/bridesmaids gowns and make-up. Jira was also able to replicate the up-do that I requested. After my sisters saw the photos, we knew that we got it.

Wedding Day:
We were running late while Jira had arrived a bit earlier than our 10:30 start. But she just patiently waited outside the suite with all her gear while my sisters made a mad dash over to the hotel. Once everyone was on site, Jira got down to business. My sisters had only arrived from Canada a couple days ago, so never had a trial with Jira, but boy were they astounded! Jira gave them both air-brush foundation and false lashes, and they looked ravishing. My older sister, who had gone through the bridesmaid experience once before in Toronto and came out of that H&M experience feeling everything was too heavy-handed, could not stop telling me how much MORE she liked Jiras work.

I arrived shortly before 1pm, and Jira did her magic once more. Within an hour, she had recreated the flawless look that lasted me until midnight that day. She also dusted some shimmer powder over my shoulders and collarbone, for the Hollywood factor, as she liked to put it!

My fiancé isnt one to rave about make-up (he usually barely notices its effects, and only points it out on other women / celebrities when its obviously badly/too heavily done). That day, though, when he saw me in the hotel room, he could not stop smiling and telling me how pretty I looked. So thats saying a lot 

Jiras efforts were noticed all throughout the day by family, friends and total strangers. The flow of compliments just did not stop! Even now, three months later, my relatives all over the world are still referring to the photos they received and telling us how beautiful we looked.

Communication:
Except on certain summer weekends heading into and during peak wedding season, Jira never failed to respond to my emails within 24 hours. She also called me to follow up on additional trial dates and logistics for the final location for wedding day H&M.

Cost:
Wedding day H&M services were $650 for us three girls. Compared to a lot of providers in the Bay area, Jira is affordable many places charge this sort of price for makeup alone. In an industry that frequently over-promises and under-delivers, and is fraught with ludicrous pricing because the word wedding is involved, I believe that Jiras services are first-class, and her prices quite reasonable.

Jira is wonderful. I got some many compliments on my hair. It was quite a difficult and time consuming style, but she pulled through like the pro that she is. I can't thank her enough for everything!!! She is on time, so professional and friendly. I found her about three months or so before my wedding and i was so lucky that she was available! After several make-up trials with other artists for my wedding, I finally found Jira. Let me just say, I had no idea that finding a make-up artist was going to be this hard. I left other trials feeling beautiful, but thinking why do I want to pay this person $200+ to do my make-up when I can do it myself? Well Jira was the first person that I found that did such a great job that I felt that I needed to book her. Here's the low down:

1. Beautiful Make-Up - Very detailed oriented and knows how to handle asian faces.
2. Airbrush foundation - this stuff is nice, goes on smoother and thinner.
3. Reasonable prices - most make-up artists want at least $200 just to do make up. Jira is charging me 300 for both hair and make-up (trust me, this is a good deal!).
4. Touch Up - all the other make-up artists want to charge me at lest $100/hr to wait around until I need a touch up. I am getting ready at 1pm for photos but the wedding doesn't start until 6pm, so that means at least 4hrs of wait time for the make-up artist.. do the math, its a LOT! Jira will come back later in the day for a additional fee of $150 which will include a hair style change also. Thank you for having reasonable prices!!!
5. Friendly and listens to what you want.

All my bridesmaids loved Jira's make-up as well. She really does a great job making you look beautiful and natural. I felt at ease knowing that Jira was doing my make-up, especially when there were a million things going on my wedding day.

My hair looked great too. I got so many compliments on it. It didn't really look like my trial run, but it looked great anyways, so I didn't care.

Jira was also very on time and made sure everyone was ready as per my stringent schedule. Would highly recommend her to anyone looking for special occasion make-up and hair.

These women were on point!! After a fiasco of a late cancelation; they were able to accommodate my wedding party with short notice. I am so happy that I was able to work with a group that really cared about their clients. They were in touch with me every step of the way and made me feel at easy the morning of. Jira was such a fun person! She makes you feel at ease the minute you sit down her make-up chair. SHe can make you smile and laugh and you forget your being nervous for your big day. Jira her team were great!

Jira and her team did my makeup and my bridal party's makeup this past October. Jira also did my makeup for my engagement shoot.

She did a great job- her team was super professional, quick, and focused. They made all my bridesmaids look fantastic and the makeup stayed on through two ceremonies (one sweaty outside ceremony, one indoor ceremony) and for over 12 hours. I didn't give Jira much guidance and just told asked her to "make me look good." Whatever she did worked! I love it when I can trust people to just do a good job...

Also side note, my mom asked for a last minute touch up on the morning of the wedding after her hair stylist messed up her hair. Jira was super professional and accommodating with helping my mom out and this above all else is why she and team deserve 5+++ stars.

I had initially booked Wowpretty for my wedding in August. Then we decided to move our wedding up by 4 months due to a family illness. Not only did Wowpretty accommodate us on such short notice, but they brought two stylists for me, my bridesmaids, and my mom, to work their magic on us. Jira is fabulous! She's a true artist who helped me feel gorgeous on my wedding day. What I loved about Jira is that she was willing to accommodate all my requests and worked with me on the price so that all my bridesmaids and mom could get something done. I had two trial sessions with her and at first was a little unsure of the hairstyle. But Jira assured me that once my hair was cut in layers, it would all work out.

On the wedding day, Jira and her assistant arrived on time with suitcases full of makeup and hair accessories. They made everyone look beautiful and their work lasted through the night and into the next day!

I heart Jira! She did my makeup/hair, bridesmaids hair and my mother's makeup/hair for my June 2008 wedding. Jira was friendly, on-time, calm, professional and she made me look amazing and natural at the same time. Sigh, it's all downhill from here...

A couple highlights come to mind; at the trial, Jira really, really LISTENED to what I wanted. I said "I want braids in the updo" and she gave me braids. She also gave me recommendations to what she thought would look better or wouldn't look so good when I asked because I was at a loss.

At one point during the wedding, we were starting to run behind schedule and I was getting a nervous about time, but Jira was calm and organized, even if I wasn't. The room we were getting ready in was also incredibly hot and I felt bad because we didn't have any bottled water available right away, but Jira and Regina sweated it out and never complained, not once.

I wholeheartedly recommend Jira for her incredibly professional work ethic and talent. Her speciality I believe is especially in Asian makeup, but I honestly think she's capable of anything (think Kevin Aucoin). She's definitely worth every penny, I'm so glad I hired her. You're the best Jira!

I was so lucky to have Elena from wowpretty do my hair and makeup, as well as for my bridesmaids, for my wedding. She is truly talented and def knows what she is doing. She can work with all types of faces, hair and styles. I'm not a girl who likes to wears a lot of make up and she was able to give me that natural and glowing look during my special day. As for my bridesmaid, they're makeup fanatics and they said Elena did such a wonderful job! She really listens to what you want and is not stuck up at all, like many makeup artists are. She's also very flexible and will travel to wherever you are to provide the service. She is extremely professional and very funny too. I highly recommend her. If you have any special or major events, you better make an appointment with her ASAP, her appointments fill up fast!
Not to mention, the day of my wedding it was super hot, felt like 200 degrees. My bridesmaids an I had airbrushed and it lasted very well. We just had to touch up a little bit towards the evening and Elena taught us how!

Jira does amazing work. My sister found her over 4 years ago when she was married. I was only a bridesmaid then, but I remember thinking how much I liked how she did our hair and make-up. Jira did my wedding hair and makeup. It looked great! Got multiple compliments. It was exactly what I wanted- which she made sure of. She is very easy to work with and very professional. I would recommend her to future brides.

I wanted to stop by and give a big thumbs up for the Wowpretty team for making my wife Anne looked so beautiful on our wedding day. Sooyeon was wonderful! She did a fabulous job with my makeup. I flew in from out of town and had to have my trial done the day before my wedding ceremony. Jira was very responsive, sending me detailed e-mails regarding their services and made the experience easy to arrange long distance.

Recently, I've had to go through 3 weddings. Not to 3 different men, same guy, but our friends, his parents' friends, my parents' friends... 3 different cities. Let's just say that's a lot of hair and makeup in the last few months.. probably and hopefully more than ever again in my lifetime.
The side benefit is that I actually feel like I can make some true comparisons. Jira has a skill in being able to imitate a picture, which definitely is not universal. I brought her hollywood glamour meets Old Shanghai, and she really helped me rock those fingerwaves. In fact, I think the day of turned out better than the trial. She has an artistic eye and gives her opinion to find what compliments you, but she also listens to your opinions. Plus, she has patience and professionalism to deal with picky mothers, not to necessarily send more her way, but she did a great job.

Jira and her team were great. She did a really good job with my make-up, but my eyeliner started to run during the reception. My hair stayed up all day. She was on time to my hotel room and was professional (while still having fun) the entire time. We were a little bit rushed to finish at the end, but I think that was because I had a lot more hair to put up than she anticipated, which wasn't her fault. (At the trial, she told me I needed to cut it, but I didn't because I donated my hair the next day). The trial went really well, and she took a lot of pictures and sent them to me right away.

Jira and her team was great. I had a last minute change in my schedule and she had was very accommodating. She took her time making sure that I looked my best on my wedding day. I didn't worry about my hair or makeup the whole day. After a full night of dancing, my hair and makeup was still in place. Everyone complimented on my hair and makeup. Jira is simply the best. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
