While I normally fancy myself one with words, it is truly hard to put into a review how amazing our wedding at Westwood Country Club and how fantastic the entire experience was. Our wedding planning was a bit unorthodox, as we reserved the date over two years in advanced before we were engaged. However, we knew Westwood would be the perfect location and we wanted to secure the date far in advanced. Once we got to less than a year out, we worked very closely with Janie Mathieson to plan our dream wedding.
Janie was always available to talk, meet, or email, and she did a fantastic job laying out everything we would need to make the wedding work and a timeline for us to follow. This was so helpful, as I had no idea really where to start on certain things. She helped recommend florists, chair vendors, and anything else we needed for the big day.
Getting closer to the event, we worked very close with her for certain things we wanted to make sure we had. For instance, my husband and I are very into craft beer, and Janie was able to take our list of our favorite beers (from all over the world) and secure a great selection for the day of. Another example of how hard Janie and everyone at Westwood worked was certain requests I had related to décor. Since we were getting married around Christmas time, and Westwood hosts many Christmas parties and events, I asked Janie if we could move some of the décor in order to not clash with our wedding and because it was a Jewish wedding. Janie and I talked about this many times before the week of. Even the day before the wedding, Janie took me around the ballroom and showed me everything they were going to do to make sure things were out of the way and still worked for our wedding. Since the weather was also not looking good, Janie took me around the venue to show where we could take indoor or covered photos if it came to that. I felt really lucky that she was willing to do this and felt incredibly confident that everything would go well.
On the day of, Janie and her staff did an amazing job. Janie was great at keeping everyone on track, both for photos, timing, and the flow of the event. The sun came out just in time for outdoor photos and the golf course and beautiful stone that Westwood has was the perfect backdrop. The staff at Westwood did a fantastic job setting everything up for both the ceremony and the dinner.
Part of me thinks it goes without saying, but the food was absolutely to die for. Nothing beats Westwood food and it was even better than what you would get in the dinning room, which is already pretty amazing. All of our guests were talking about it and I was so happy. We also have about 10 guests that were Vegan, so it was super easy to come up with alternatives for them to eat.
Overall, the night would not have been the same if it weren’t at Westwood. It was such a perfect evening and I really want to thank Janie and the staff at Westwood for making it so special. -

Simply perfect
Janie and her team were so amazing. It was everything we could’ve asked for and then some. The decor, the SIGN (!!!), the food, everything was truly perfect. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making the happiest day of our lives unforgettable. -

We could not be happier with our wedding reception experience on 5/15/21 at Westwood CC. The location is easy to Tyson's Corner & the Beltway. The ballroom is beautiful overlooking the manicured golf course. The food is top quality & the staff professional & courteous. Mrs. Janie Mathieson, Dir F&B, is a gem - positive, resourceful and knowledgeable. -

Westwood helped make the wedding of our dreams a reality! Janie was super flexible and accommodating when we shared our vision of the day. From food /beverage selection to floor layout and catering service the day of, Janie and her team knocked it out of the park. We got so much positive feedback from our guests on how good the food was and how great the catering service was. I believe Westwood has one of the best ballrooms in the DMV area. It's naturally elegant and sophisticated- you don't need to do much to the room to make it look AMAZING! Thanks Janie for all that you and the WWCC team did to make our day a dream! :) -

Westwood Country Club is a beautiful facility. The staff is top notch, so professional and easy to work with. The food is delicious as well. We were able to arrive early the day of the wedding and get all the photographs we wanted around the club. Janie and her team handled the set up of all the extra 'themed' items we brought along. Overall a perfect wedding experience for us and our guests at Westwood Country Club. -
Susan Sent on 08/25/2018I had my wedding this past June at Westwood Country Club. Planning this wedding was a dream working with Janie! She keeps everyone so informed, is so easy to get in contact with, and is SO flexible and accommodating! Planning the final guest list for my wedding was great, because Westwood Country Club is one of the largest venues my husband and I were able to find. We looked at so many venues that wouldn't have been able to accommodate all the guests we wanted to invite. The wedding itself went perfectly. My guests loved the venue and the food. They loved the balconies that overlook the beautiful golf course. My wedding photos turned out incredible from all the beautiful spots to take pictures. My guests also loved the convenience of the location of Westwood Country Club, right in Vienna. Overall, I am so happy I chose to have my wedding here! I highly recommend having Westwood Country Club as your wedding venue!

Their team was so flexible and understanding with every one of our needs. The ballroom is one of the best ballrooms in the DC area, so spacious with gorgeous chandeliers and large windows with balconies. -
Hillary Sent on 12/19/2017We chose Westwood for our wedding for two reasons; the location and the ballroom. The location is perfect especially for out-of-town guests. We had room blocks in Tysons which was a good central location for those who wanted to venture into D.C. while in town. The ballroom is by far the most beautiful that I looked at for our wedding. A lot of other ballrooms had low ceilings and were smaller in comparison. Westwood also provides a larger than typical dance floor which was a nice bonus.
We worked with Lisa through out our planning. She was attentive and easy to work with. She also gave us great recommendations on vendors and ideas for the wedding. If you plan to have your ceremony there I highly recommend having the room draped. It makes a huge difference and the contact Lisa gave us did a beautiful job! The staff at Westwood did an amazing job flipping the room too! It was a tight window and everything looked perfect for the reception. All of our guests enjoyed the food and bar - we also had late night sliders and fries, which were delicious! I'd definitely recommend adding them! Westwood worked with us on the menu - we were able to cater to guests with dietary restrictions seamlessly.
Westwood has a beautiful golf course that serves as a picturesque backdrop for photos. The only thing is that it does depend on the day on where you will be able to take photos since there are golfers on the course. Also, only the bride and groom can go onto the course for photos. Lisa drove us plus the photographers and videographer out on to the course. She did her best in finding us spots for photos., but the course was busy as it was Columbus Day weekend. Even with that limitation we got some of the most beautiful shots. It is such a beautiful venue with a wonderful team. We found it to be the perfect venue for our wedding day. -

Janie and her team is amazing, they added a ton of little touches that make it really special. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding! Dalila went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The ballroom looked amazing, exactly as I had expected. I am so grateful for everyone at Westwood that helped make our day so special!!!

Tam Sent on 09/15/2014I had a wonderful time working with Dalila and Lisa to plan my wedding at Westwood. They are extremely professional and helpful. They were kind to let me use some beautiful vases for my centerpieces. Their objective is to make weddings beautiful so no doubt they accomplished that by ensuring the ballroom as beautiful as it can be for my wedding. Dalila will go above and beyond to make sure your wedding runs smoothly and there isn't much to worry about for your special day. The waiter staffs are wonderful as well since my guests have mentioned they were prompt in getting their requests during the reception.
Westwood is a pretty venue to hold a wedding and it will come with a price but all worth it for your special day. -

Kelly Sent on 08/03/2013Westwood is a beautiful however I do not recommend having your wedding there. Here are my reasons...
-untimely reply emails, lack of flexibility in meeting with us. The venue coordinator did not take control of anything during the wedding. I had heard rumors of this before so I hired a wedding coordinator to take control of the event, had I not its obvious that there would have been more loose ends and surprises. So of the things that stuck out the most to me were, the lack and missing of returned items, the miss spelling of our names at the entrance to the club?!?! and overall lackadaisical approach to a overall $50,000 wedding.
