We had a unique/intimate ceremony and she was able to walk us through the process in designing the ceremony of our dreams. Not only did she take the time to walk us through the entire ordeal, but she guided us through getting the license, and even gave us so many options for what should be in our ceremony. Great officiant, beautiful ceremony
She did a beautiful reading for our ceremony and personalized it for us when we mentioned that travel is a big part of our lives. She listened carefully when we explained what we wanted for the ceremony and incorporated it into the big day. She was very responsive and even though she moved away during the year we planned the wedding, she was totally flexible about our rehearsal and ceremony locations.

Fantastic officiant
We hired Gay Lee about a month out from our wedding after it became clear that my original plan was not going to work. Luckily she was free and slotted us in, despite being right in the middle of her busiest season. Even though this was a fairly last minute arrangement, she did such an amazing job of crafting a service that was immensely personal and incredibly beautiful. I would 100% recommend her to anyone who is looking for an officiant.

A joy to work with
My husband and I had such a wonderful experience working with Gay Lee to design the wedding ceremony of our dreams. We scheduled meetings with a few officiants but after our first meeting with Gay Lee we canceled the others because we knew that she would be a good fit. We wanted a ceremony that was spiritual and imbued with meaning but not religious. Gay Lee suggested many ideas to help us to achieve this including a ring warming which we hadn't seen at other weddings and was a wonderful way to involve our families in the ceremony. We met with Gay Lee several times during the planning process and she was always friendly and warm. Even though we had only known her for a few months, our ceremony felt so personalized and true to us, like we were getting married by a family member. Gay Lee is a special soul and we're so glad to have met her!

Our original officiant cancelled ~1 week before our wedding on 6/25/2021. Luckily Rev. Gay was available for our date and had done weddings at our venue (Keswick Vineyards).
Since our very first outreach she was very responsive. She is knowledgeable and professional, which we could tell after our very first conversation.
During our rehearsal and ceremony, she remained calm and helped our coordinator ensure everything went as it’s supposed to. She took her time to incorporate very personal details into the ceremony, such as analyzing a poem we had provided.
We are so thankful that we were able to find her and would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a knowledge, detail-oriented, patient and caring officiant.

Reverend Gay is the sweetest! My now husband and I loved working with her. We got to know her well through our pre-marital counseling sessions, which were incredibly helpful in helping us understand one another better, identify potential sources of conflict and how to navigate them, and prepare us for married life. She was very patient with us during our rehearsal. On the day of, she arrived early to coordinate with the rest of our vendors. She also shared a personalized message during our ceremony. Will Not Dissapoint
Gay Lee helped make our day so special. When we talked with her during our initial meeting, she took the time to get to know us and asked us great questions about our day, what we were looking for in a ceremony, etc. She put together a great ceremony that we were delighted with and that our families enjoyed. I appreciate her making it an easy process. We had a difficult time finding someone we wanted to officiate our wedding, but when we met Gay Lee, we knew she would bring such great presence and energy to our wedding day. We were fortunate to have her a part of our day!

Reverend Gay Lee is nothing short of exceptional. She is easy and fun to to work with, an utmost professional, and is skilled in crafting the perfect ceremony to match the couple. Our wedding had a surprise tornado 10 minutes before the ceremony and she was able to keep calm, adapt to the changing circumstances, and ultimately her
ceremony set a joyous and happy tone for the rest of the wedding despite the circumstances. She kept to the plan but was also able to seamlessly weave in fun comments on the fly about the weather - this speaks to her abilities and experience. If you're looking for the best, look no further. Great wedding, stress-free!
Rev. Einstein was great to work with, from start to finish. As soon as we had our first face-to-face meeting with her we knew she was the right choice for us. She was responsive, punctual, flexible, open-minded, and easy to talk with. We needed someone to write a ceremony for us that would feel traditional but relaxed, to incorporate religious elements that our families and friends would be comfortable with. She asked us a lot of good questions, wrote a beautiful ceremony that pleased both of our families, and threw in a couple of good jokes based on what she had gotten to know about the two of us. She also ran our rehearsal, which was an invaluable service since we did not have a wedding planner.
Planning a wedding is always going to be stressful, but Reverend Einstein took a LOT of that stress away, and my wife and I were both able to relax, enjoy the ceremony she had written, and focus on each other. I would recommend her to anyone in the area, especially if you have families with different religious backgrounds and want a ceremony that doesn't strictly adhere to one particular tradition, but respectfully acknowledges multiple traditions.

Need an officiant for wedding ceremony? Hire Gay Lee!
We hired Gay Lee for our wedding in April 2018. We had a lovely experience! We opted to do the counseling session prior to our ceremony and spent time learning about our personalities and needs as individuals and a couple to better prepare us for our upcoming marriage. Gay Lee was kind, professional, and so easy to talk to- we learned a lot about each other and we're so happy we added on this service.
As for the actual wedding, Gay Lee was prompt with timing and responsiveness, provided flexibility in our approach to our service (for us, we wanted a modern but traditional approach), helping to provide us with a number of readings to consider, and ceremonial approaches. We're both Christian, but wanted a more informal service, as our service was outside at Bold Rock Cidery in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was perfect, she did a great job, both with the rehearsal and wedding, and we would choose her all over again to be an important part of our big day. Thank you Dr. Rev Gay Lee!

Officiancy isn't a competition. But if it were... Gay Lee would win.
Gay Lee was one of the best parts of our wedding. Which is says quite a bit, considering we had a near-flawless wedding.
I say near-flawless because it was a tad windy — tricky conditions for a lesser officiant. Gay Lee, however, rose to the occasion (and then some). We're so happy she was up there with us on the big stage, and had an awesome time getting to know her in the days prior.

Perfect fit for anyone!
Gay Lee was absolutely wonderful! We enjoyed all the time we spent with her getting to know each other and putting together the perfect ceremony. On our wedding day, we had an escalating downpour throughout almost the entire ceremony and Gay Lee rolled with the circumstances in tune with how we were feeling about the rain and thunder--- exhilarated! We had so much fun and I am so glad we found the best fit for an officiant.

My now husband and I were not local to Charlottesville, but we wanted to hire a local officiant for our wedding ceremony. Gay Lee was recommended to us by several of our vendors. We decided to reach out to her to see if she'd be available for our date, which we received a quick response from her. She went the extra mile and asked if we could meet up with her in person or via skype! We really loved that she wanted to get to know us as a couple to ensure the wedding was more personalized. When we met with her, we knew she would be the perfect officiant for our ceremony! We wanted our ceremony to be religious but with a modern undertone. She offers both secular and religious ceremonies. During our meeting, we went over a traditional religious ceremony step by step. She explained to us what we could add, drop, and any modifications that could be made. She was very flexible with our ceremony and provided suggestions on areas that we were unfamiliar with. We wanted a personalized ceremony, and she suggested the wine box ceremony. Additionally, she sent us both religious and literature reading suggestions to help us select our readings. The day of, we received so many complements regarding our ceremony and how great our officiant was! I was really happy that we picked Gay Lee as our officiant! I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a personalized religious or secular wedding ceremony.

Words can't express how truly wonderful Gay was as our officient on our wedding day. As someone who doesn't live in the area, it was so lovely that she was flexible and easy to work with when it came to meeting ahead of time. She also facetimed us multiple times to make sure that we were all on the same page and to get to know us better. She took the time to get to know us as a couple personally and used what she found to make a personal and sweet service during our ceremony. Gay Einstein married my husband and I on October 28, 2017, and she was amazing. She had our guests engaged and everyone really enjoyed our ceremony.
We chatted once via Facetime and once in person before the ceremony. She really made an effort to get to know us on a personal level to make our wedding day perfect. She was extremely responsive via email and by phone.
Having never done one before, Gay was very flexible when we decided to incorporate a tree planting ceremony in place of vows.
I would highly recommend Gay for your wedding preacher!

Gay Lee is so wonderful! From the moment my now-husband and I met her we knew she was the right person to marry us. She arranged to meet us in Richmond (over an hour from where she lives) so that we could chat and get to know each other. She was very interested in learning about our families, our story, and our opinions on our wedding service. While raised in the protestant faith, my husband and I wanted a more modern ceremony and she was incredibly flexible. She also helped us re-create a traditional Korean wedding ceremony at our rehearsal!! She is so cheerful, genuine, and caring and she made us feel so comfortable. She worked with us to get our ceremony exactly the way we wanted it, read through our individual vows ahead of the day, and designed her portion of the ceremony to go along with one of our readings. We are so grateful to have been able to work with her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone!

My husband and I can't say enough good things about Gay Lee. The first thing we noticed was her sincere enthusiasm for life and love. She clearly loves what she does, and that makes her all the more delightful to work with!
We met with her a few times leading up to our wedding, to not only discuss details of our wedding service, but also for premarital counseling. During our time together, she was able to get a sense of who we were and the type of ceremony we were looking for. She offered us multiple sample ceremonies and from those we were able to customize a program that incorporated all of the elements that were important to Ed and me, including a moment of silence honoring those family members who were there in spirit, a reading and musical interlude.
I would be remiss if I didn't especially call out the excellent sermon Gay Lee delivered on our wedding day. She had been taking notes during our sessions and used them to create a message that was both personable and spiritual, just as we had talked about. It was beautiful.
Gay Lee's positivity, sincerity and calming nature made planning a ceremony so much fun, and her delivery on our wedding day helped our marriage get off to a wonderful and blessed beginning! My husband and I highly recommend her to all brides- and grooms-to-be!

Reverend Einstein was truly the best to work with! She has a great personality that puts you at ease, is very quick to respond to any inquiries, and is highly organized. It was such a relief to have booked her; my husband and I had no idea how much planning and structuring goes into putting together the perfect ceremony. But Reverend Einstein knows her business and has an answer to every question. She called and met with us several times prior to the wedding day to discuss plans and expectations. And on the final meeting, she came prepared with a folder full of ideas, an already written sermon, and creative ways to make the ceremony unique to the two of us. On the big day, I could not have asked of more from her. She was spectacular and threw her heart and soul into making the day a truly memorable event! All of our guests raved about her saying that the mini sermon she gave was a perfect match to our personalities and styles. My husband and I are so happy that we chose Gay Lee to take part in our special day! She was very quick to respond to communications and was so gracious to come all the way to Richmond to meet with us. My husband and I did not want a religious ceremony, but wanted something a little more personal than a justice of the peace. When we found Gay online and did a little research we thought she may be a great fit for us, and we were right! She was very open to our ideas and readings, and did not try to force a religious ceremony or readings. Rev. Einstein helped make our big day so perfect. She took the time to get to know us and tailor our ceremony to exactly one that fit us. I loved that she would make recommendations, but would never push us to go one way or another. It was also so nice that she offered, but did not require us to attend premarital counseling; it made convincing my husband to do it all the easier! The counseling itself was also relaxed and easy and helped us to realize things about our relationship that I’d never thought of in all of the 8 years we have been together. She is also so kind and calming to be around. I would HIGHLY recommend her for your wedding.

We had an evening service at 7:30pm and Gay was more than willing to perform our service even though she had to drive back to Charlottesville that night. Our wedding was a destination wedding and we were unable to afford the services of our local pastor due to the additional travel costs. My then-fiance (now husband!) and I decided to do some internet sleuthing. We received many positive reviews for Rev. Gay Lee Einstein. I did my research before contacting her and was very pleased with her presence and the sound of her voice on film, not to mention her affordable going rate. Being far away, it was difficult to schedule a face-to-face meeting. Luckily she was flexible and was willing to adapt. We set up a meeting with Gay via Skype and when the internet failed, we met over a conference call. To my delight, Gay proved to be easy to speak with and made us comfortable with our choice. During the weeks leading up to our nuptials, Gay was great about contacting us. I was grateful that Gay was agreeable to corresponding to our hearts content over email because this fit our busy schedules and gave me a better grasp on what was to come as I was unsure what to expect (which can be quite nerve wracking when dealing with such an integral aspect of a wedding!). After meeting, Gay typed up suggestions for us to use during the ceremony. We discussed these options and decided to throw in a mix of conventional and nonconventional bits into a wonderfully personalized ceremony that was too perfect. I could not be more thrilled with the way it turned out. We scheduled a wedding rehearsal and meeting her face to face was a huge weight off of my shoulders. She was warm, friendly and easy going. Her personality put me at ease. On the day of the wedding I did not have the anxiety that I thought I would. She was calm and delivered convincingly. After our ceremony, it turned out that our family members assumed she was our personal pastor which was nice to hear how her affable vibes were interpreted by others. We were very blessed to have Rev. Gay marry us, she is absolutely wonderful.

While surfing the web of preachers that could marriage us I ran across Gay Lee's picture' she had a kind and caring face. Looking through the different Officiants websites, I kept going back to Gay Lee's website, and knew at that point she was the one I wanted to marry us. I contacted Gay Lee just a few weeks prior to our small wedding at the UVa Chapel. This was a second wedding for both of us and we desired a religious ceremony that some clergy shy away from. We met with her prior to the ceremony, and her advice, her kindness and wisdom immediately won us over. She seemed to know exactly what we wanted. I was late for my own wedding thanks to hairdresser fiasco, but she kept everyone calm and ready while waiting on me and patiently stopped the wedding while the chapel bells rang during our vows. Our ceremony was so meaningful, the beauty in her words, the use of our favorite scriptures, the focus on our families and our commitment was perfect. Her words about finding a second chance at love meant so much to us. The Chapel was wonderful, my dress, the flowers were pretty, but it was Gay Lee that made our wedding perfect beyond my dreams.

My now husband and I were forced to change our wedding date at the last minute due to a little accident I had. A friend of ours was going to officiate our ceremony, but with the change in date he could no longer do so. That's when I went online and started searching for officiants. I came across Gay Lee's page here on Wedding Wire and contacted her by email. She responded almost immediately to my request for information, even though at the time she was vacationing in Hawaii (5 hour time difference!). Within a week, yes one week before our wedding, she had helped us create a ceremony that was truly customized for my husband and I.
