Rodney and his Team Are Amazing Photographers!

My husband and I used Rodney Bailey Photojournalism for both our engagement photos and our wedding day, and were over the moon with Rodney and his team on both occasions. Rodney is an expert at styled photographs as well as candid shots--I felt just as beautiful when Rodney posed us as in the unposed photos that Rodney took of us mingling with our guests. I feel like he really captured the essence of the day, and gave us many beautiful memories to look back on for years to come. I could not recommend Rodney Bailey more highly.

We could not be happier with our experience working with Photojournalism by Rodney Bailey. From the wedding consultation to the day of and every step of the process for designing our wedding album and prints, the Rodney Bailey team brought their absolute A game! Tabitha was phenomenal at capturing our day and and Darcy was amazingly kind and beyond helpful answering all of our questions and talking us through the album design process. Rodney was so, so great! Can't say it enough. I would 100% recommend him to friends, family, random people on the street. Without seeing the photos yet, I can say that Rodney was extremely professional, handled large groups of people well (not easy!), kept things moving but stayed attentive and flexible, and had an overall poised and calm demeanor. These are all things a bride could ever want from her photographer on her wedding day!! He was such a pleasure to work with beginning to end.

Amazing Team!

**Edit: We were married 9/12/20, not 12/9/20** Darcy has been incredible since Day 1. I was completely clueless, and she not only helped me with the photography aspect, but also helped me by suggesting other vendors for our wedding. She was a tremendous help throughout the entire process. Always following up on emails and readily available to help me over the phone as well.
Our lead photographer was Tabatha, and she was absolutely amazing! From the moment I met her in our hotel, she was very warm and had an inviting personality. I felt so at ease with her, and I don't like being in front of a camera. Tabatha made sure we got all of our after-ceremony pics at the altar with our immediate family, and there were a lot of shots that we wanted! Syed was equally incredible and helped to make sure everything looked right for our poses... I can't wait to see the results! The Rodney Bailey team has exceeded my expectations, and look forward to working with them in the future. I would highly recommend them to anyone that is looking for a photographer!

Best investment

Rodney & team are INCREDIBLE! I've recommended them over and over again. Darcy is so responsive and on top of any question you can throw her way. Rodney is calm onsite, ever flexible as plans change. Once we finished the formal, portrait shots, I (respectfully) never saw him and his second shooter again. They blended in to the crowd and got photos from our ceremony from every single angle. Even our officiant was surprised to never really see him! The party photos are a blast. The photos too a little more time to get, but they're worth the wait. They're edited beautifully and he took time to re-edit the ones I asked for further help with. Rodney was the first vendor I hired, and I'd hire him again and again!

Let me start off by saying that this was my dream photographer and I did not think I could afford to book them at our budget however Darcy is beyond amazing and worked with us to customize a package which we could afford and I am so grateful. The planning and communication was so professional and each correspondance was timely, organized and concise. Darcy is very skilled in her role and she made it so easy for my husband and I to plan our day.
During the wedding day we had Gary and Syed and that was our first photography session as we did not do an engagement shoot and they put us at ease and stayed on time throughout the day. Our venue was outdoors and the weather was very warm but they took such lovely photos that you would never know how hot we were! The photographs came out beautifully and were finished earlier than anticipated. My favorite photo was our " first touch" v. first look and when I saw it for the first time I started to cry. I loved the candid moments of seeing my groom get ready and they even got him doing his pre-wedding push-ups! I will cherish these photos forever and am so honored that we had the privelage to work with Syed, Gary and Darcy and loved every moment!

Mark and Syed from Rodney Bailey were our photojournalists for our wedding and come highly recommended. The photos were beautiful and they readily put everyone at ease. Special recognition should go to Darcy who runs a lot of the company's administrative operations. She will work with you to fulfill the wedding vision you have. We were connected with the company through our hotel's vendor list and we are so happy that was the case!!! :)

I can't wait to see our wedding photos! Rodney and Gary were fantastic the day of our wedding. They were helpful as I moved about in my dress for 1st look photos and were always in the right place at the right time. They somehow managed to be ever present and yet totally unobtrusive. I also loved that they left us a polaroid photo of us from our 1st look at the end of the night.

Working with Rodney and Darcy was one of the best things we could have done. The planning stages went exceedingly well and we went into the big day with full confidence. We used Rodney Bailey for our wedding this past April at the Mayflower, and we just got our pictures back-they are incredible. The pictures themselves are perfect, they capture the emotion and spirit of the day without being overly artistic and touched up. Not only are the pictures themselves amazing, the entire process was seamless with Rodney Bailey and his team. They were more than willing work within our budget (unlike some vendors who made us feel like we could never get decent pictures unless we spent WAY more than we wanted to) and they were friendly, easy to work with, and got us so excited about the event. The day of, Tabitha and Mark were calm, cool and collected even when we had some minor (unrelated to them) issues, and we couldn't be more pleased with their work. We would highly recommend them to anyone, and can't wait to have more reasons to use them!

Rodney is amazing! He is an incredible photographer. As soon as we met him we knew we wanted to work with him. He knew our venue very well and made some great recommendations that were so helpful. Rodney photographed our engagement session as well as our 2 day fusion wedding. He was incredibly thorough, professional, prepared and discreet (I hardly noticed he was there). He made us feel totally comfortable which really helped us relax for the photos. Most importantly, he is an amazing photographer! The photographs were unbelievable!! Rodney Bailey photography was great. From beginning to end, everyone was wonderful. I looked around quite a bit for photographers. Rodney Bailey photography was reasonably priced yet still maintained the quality. Darcy was so responsive and worked to help meet our every need. All of the photojournalists have over 12 years of experience. We ended up going with Gary Guevara who was great-he was kind, easy to work with and had an incredible eye. He managed to find some great scenes on a rainy day. We highly recommend them!

I don't know where to begin with my review! Working with Rodney Bailey (Rodney, Darcy, Gary & Mark) was one the best vendor experiences I had while planning my wedding. I knew from the moment I met Mark that he got me and understood what I wanted. I knew that he would deliver incredible photos from our wedding and I was beyond blown away when I saw them for the first time. In fact, we have SO MANY AMAZING PICTURES, I don't know where to begin with framing ones for our home. Both Mark and Gary went above and beyond on my wedding day and Darcy was amazing to help us craft the photography package that best suited our needs. They helped us through the unexpected bumps during the day and displayed such a high level of professionalism and passion for capturing all of those special moments. Rodney was my lead photographer and Gary also assisted on the day of the wedding. I cannot say enough good things about Photojournalism by Rodney Bailey. We worked with Mark and Gary on our wedding day. From the first time I emailed them to today, still working out our album details, I have been very pleased with their customer service and responsiveness. Darcy has answered questions from photographer to timeline to recommendations about other vendors. Mark and Rodney were so personable during our selection process (they even offered a skype meeting since we live out of town!) and we knew immediately that was the vibe we wanted on our day. From the moment Mark showed up at our hotel while we were getting ready, I felt calm. He and Gary's casual demeanor and humor really made the day special, and their confidence put me at ease. They even convinced me to go to the ladies' room right before the ceremony! And it was good advice!! We recently got our photos and they were even more beautiful than we expected - and there was a HUGE quantity of them!! Rodney Bailey and his studio were great to work with throughout the wedding process. They are organized, effective communicators and simply warm, nice people to work with. Mark B was our lead photographer and he was fantastic! Mark was very easy to work with throughout the day, laid back and fit into our wedding group perfectly. Mark’s ability to capture emotion in a photograph is unlike any I have seen. In looking at each of photographs, especially those taken during our wedding homily and reception speeches, I can so vividly remember how I felt. There were a couple points throughout the day that Mark gave me a sneak peak of the photographs on his camera. His passion shown through during those moments where he couldn’t wait to show us how great the photos were turning out.

Our wedding photographs are beautiful. They are clean, crisp, and full of emotion and truly tell the story of our wedding day. We invested a little more than expected to have Rodney Bailey and Mark be our wedding photographers but the investment was well worth it. I know my husband, family and friends will be enjoying the photographs, and reliving the day over and over again, for many years to come.

We loved working with Rodney Bailey & Associates for our engagement and wedding photography. Tabatha was our photographer. She is friendly, talented, professional, and so easy to work with. We hired Rodney Bailey for our engagement photos and wedding pictures. Our primary photographer, Tabatha, was excellent! At our first meeting, we met with Rodney and Tabatha to discuss our vision and learn about their technique. It was a great opportunity to see their work and ask questions we didn't submit online. It was an easy conversation and made our decision to hire them very easy.

Tabatha was excellent to work with both at our engagement session and on our wedding day. She had creative poses that didn't feel unnatural and turned out great in our finished pictures. She was prompt to every appointment we scheduled and RB made sure to have a back up plan should the weather become inclement.

My only issue I had working with this company is that our engagement session was included but we had to pay for our images on top of the package we already purchased. This could be a case of me not reading the fine print but that was the only surprise in the entire process. The cost of our package was quite expensive but the finished product was well worth the money and it's memories that will last a lifetime. I absolutely recommend this vendor to anyone who is looking for a professional photographer - not just for weddings!

We had Tabatha from Rodney Bailey & Assoc be our photographer at our wedding and she was just amazing! We got a free engagement session because friends of ours recommended them from their own wedding and it made a really be difference not only to get to meet Tabatha ahead of time, but to also see the incredible work she does. We were so happy to see her on the day of and knew that we were in good hands. Planning and communicating with Rodney ahead of time was really easy and he was always prompt at responding. Tabatha really made us feel so special and was everywhere she needed to be throughout the night (without feeling like we were being stalked!). I can't wait to see the photos when we get them back!

I haven't received the pictures from my wedding yet. However, I really, really liked Tabatha and I am sure they will be amazing. She did our engagement shoot and those pictures were so good. They were made into the guest book for our wedding and everyone loved it. The engagement photos are so nice that we are purchasing all the digital images. Tabatha is really good at putting you at ease and we just really liked her. I will update the review when I receive the wedding images.

Any comments I write here will not truly do our photographer justice. We sat down with Rodney a little over a year before the wedding. The entire process from booking to the end of the reception was wonderful. Our photographer, Mark, is truly amazing. He did our engagement session as well as the wedding.

During the wedding and reception Mark took the lead and directed people where they needed to be for group pictures. However, he was not intrusive while myself and my groom were interacting with guests. Occasionally I would completely forget they were there - and I am usually not comfortable in front of the camera! There were times a picture I wanted would pop into my head and I would mention it, and they would have already taken it.

It was truly a wonderful experience working with Mark and Rodney Bailey & Associates. Again, I have to say, my review does not do them enough justice. They are a phenomenal team of photographers.

We searched a few photographers online through recommendations. We first met with Rodney and he was very professional. Our wedding photographer was Tabatha. We were married at Raspberry Plain and liked her work at our venue. The day of the wedding, Tabatha and her assistant were prompt, professional and overall amazing! They were very organized and easy to work with. We had a large bridal party and we were able to get all posed photos before our ceremony. We have SO many great photos to choose from...Tabatha and her assistant were literally EVERYWHERE...catching candid shots of everyone at the wedding! We are still going through all of our photos!!!

When we first started looking for a photographer, we couldn't believe the number in the pool from which we could choose. It was overwhelming. Instead of calling each one of them or checking the website out for each of them, I browsed through the real photos on WeddingChannel to see which ones of the pictures really popped out. Since my husband and I love taking pictures ourselves and know a little more than the average about taking pictures, we were picky but not when we saw the pictures taken by Rodney and his crew!

Rodney was very responsive and professional. We met with him briefly and we decided to go with Gary Guevara. The process was easy. Gary and his assistant showed up on the wedding day and created the most beautiful memory for us. Of course, we had to do some formal shots with our family. However, the crew took a lot of candid pictures of us and our guests. We highly recommend Gary!

Rodney Bailey was a recommendation from my hair stylist Giselle. She had worked with Gary before and said that he was absolutely wonderful. When we met with Rodney and Gary we felt the same way. They were responsive and helpful and on the day Gary and his assistant were everywhere you needed them and completely out of the way. Even though it rained Gary was extremely flexible when it came to photos and was able to get as much as he could. We haven't received the photos yet but I don't doubt for a fact that they are absolutely beautiful

I knew I wanted Rodney Bailey & Associates to do my wedding photography before we had even finalized our venue selection (and they were very flexible in waiting for me to finalize my venue). For me, photography was the most important investment of the wedding because that is the only thing (other than the marriage) from that day that we can have forever. After browsing a variety of photographers online, I stumbled across Rodney’s wedding venue page and fell in love with the style of all of the photographers. They hit just the right balance for me between photojournalistic (documenting the real emotion of the day) and flexibility to do what the couple wanted in terms of formal shots etc. I called on a whim one day, almost positive I wouldn’t be able to afford even their most basic package. I was amazed at the affordability and their willingness to work with me. Remember, I did say this was an investment, but I didn’t say I could bankrupt myself either.

We ended up getting a package that included an engagement shoot, an engagement album which we used as a guest book, 8 hours of coverage on the wedding day, two photographers, and a wedding album at the end. For everything we got, I felt the price was fair. Gary was the associate we chose to work with and couldn’t have been happier with our choice! Even after Gary had a family emergency, the office was great at getting our engagement shoot rescheduled and Gary was a true artist with our photos. I was glad that we were early enough that we had a choice in our photographer- Gary fit our personalities just perfectly and was able to make my husband and I very comfortable in front of the camera. I haven’t seen the final work from the wedding day, but I am sure the photos are going to be stunning (Gary let me sneak a peek on his camera before the ceremony).

Cannot say enough good things about working with Gary from Rodney Bailey. Gary put us at ease from the moment we began and we know our wedding photos will be absolutely beautiful. We also feel SO lucky to have worked with Sayed as well - two lead photographers!!

The most amazing thing about working with Rodney Bailey and Associates is how discrete these amazing photographers are throughout your wedding day. We had the time of our lives at our wedding, and never even noticed all the snapshots going on around us.

Our guests LOVED the photobooth and we cannot wait for the photos to come back!

Rodney Bailey Photojournalism was outstanding on all levels. Rodney is very professional, helpful, and friendly. He is very responsive and got back to me very quickly any time I contacted him. Mark Bettinger was our photographer for both engagement photos and for our wedding photos. The images were AMAZING, and we were thrilled with how they looked. Somehow Mark managed to blend in with our guests, and still capture every moment. He coordinated the posed photos and expedited them quickly and painlessly, and most importantly made us feel comfortable and at ease which shows in the pictures. I would highly recommend anyone getting married in the DC/MD/VA area to use Rodney Bailey. They are more than worth the cost!

Incredible. My wedding guests gushed about the event but to have the attendees mention how great the photographers were even before seeing the pictures was unexpected. 2 and a half weeks after the wedding we received the proofs and are absolutely floored. I can't believe how great they are.
Rodney Bailey Photographers listened carefully to my requests and delivered artistic, gorgeous photos that exceeded my expectations. I recommend them to everyone who wants natural, candid, and unique photos that are gallery worthy.

The website slideshow they provided is a perfect way for my Facebook friends to view pics and they provided a link to the more substantial shots for me to send to family members so they can place orders.

Rodney's team was amazing - Gary and Syed were everywhere during the rehearsal and wedding day. The photos and albums were incredible and I received lots of compliments.

Early in the process, when a booking mistake was discovered, Rodney and his staff resolved it quickly and included a bunch of extra services in my package as a make-even. I was definitely the winner on that one. Plus, Gary asked if we would be willing to take photos the morning after the wedding at the neon boneyard for free and some of our best photos come from that outing.

If you want amazing photos, professional and responsive service and friendly photographers, definitely talk to Rodney Bailey. I could not recommend them enough.

I didn't have to spend a lot of time considering my answers, the service was stellar. My wedding album is more than enough proof of the quality of service. As for responsiveness and flexibility, each of my meetings with Rodney was scheduled to accommodate me and he was well prepared each time. The multiple photographers he brought with him blended well into the crowd and were not invasive- yet they somehow captured EVERYTHING. That's true professionalism. I'm the type of person that highly values having photos from an event, which would normally lead to less care about the cost, however Rodney was appropriately priced for his talent and product - leaving me with the feeling that our contract was very satisfactory. This promoted a very positive relationship.

One thing to point out is that my screening of photographers was thorough and a main concern of mine was whether the people I hired would put my guests at ease. Another concern of mine was the ability for them to physically cover a wide area. To be blunt, Rodney is both physically appealing and agile, enabling him to assuage my concerns on each topic.

As an aside, I've never seen my relatives and friends look as good as they do in Rodney's photos. They are going to be thrilled to receive wedding photos as gifts for the holidays!

We had Rodney do our engagement session, rehearsal dinner, and wedding. We could not have asked for anything better! Neither my husband nor I consider oursevles particularly photogenic people, but Rodney manages to bring out the best. You'd never guess he's one of the top rate photographers in the area. He's so modest, incredibly personable, and always makes time for you. The best part is that he never fails to catch those subtle moments, but never seems to intrude on the action. What a treat! Rodney and his team were so much fun! Their personalities made the wedding day less stressful and took all the pictures that we requested. Their approach was definitely 'not in your face'. The only time you would realized they were there was because of the clicking of the cameras. The photos turned about beautifully! We used Rodney for our two engagement photo sessions as well as our two wedding ceremonies. My parents were so happy to have Rodney and his team (and that means a lot because my parents are very hard to please!). Within a blink of any eye I would recommend Rodney Bailey for any occasion!

Rodney Bailey was amazing. I really wanted a photographer that would take lots of candid pictures and would let my husband and I just have a good time and enjoy the party. It was really important to us that we not have a photographer in our faces through the whole day. When we got our pictures I was amazed, they captured so many special moments but I don't remember them being there at all. My guests have even commented that they have never seen a photographer be so respectful of the couple and the guests and yet get such great pictures. Due to issues with another vendor, I hired Rodney through a friend less than a week before my destination wedding out of the country. I would never have been able to hire him on my own as he is booked months if not years in advance, but he knew my friend and agreed to rearrange his schedule around my wedding. My fiance and I were so grateful!

In contrast to the other vendor we had been working with, Rodney and his assistant (Naomi) were a total breath of fresh air. Not only were they both low key, completely flexible and thoroughly professional, they took fantastic pictures over the course of the 4 days of events.

Yes, Rodney's services don't come cheap. That said, the expense will be well-worth it once you see your photos. We especially appreciated that Rodney did not nickel and dime us for anything or make outlandish last minute demands (like our other vendor tried to do before being terminated). Though our original vendor also shoots fantastic photos, we had to deal with a lot of drama, greediness, unreasonable last minute demands and the like so instead of reducing our stress level this other vendor shamelessly added to it. Hiring Rodney, my fiance and I immediately noticed a change...a complete 180, actually, which thoroughly reinforced that we had made the right decision to hire him.

We especially liked and very much appreciated how Rodney and Naomi without fuss tailored everything around our specific needs and wants. This was true in the day-of planning session, all our events, the post-wedding album proposal meeting and in the many emails exchanged throughout. Rodney truly goes above and beyond to please his customers, and provides the highest calibre product to boot. He and Naomi are super low-maintenance, too, which is just what the bride and groom need in order to focus on what's most important: their marriage.

I would highly and strongly recommend Rodney Bailey to any bride looking for a fantastic photographer to document her special day. On top of being great at what he does, Rodney and Naomi are just plain nice. Who wouldn't want to hire these guys?

We used Gary Guevara for our engagement photo session and our wedding and he is AMAZING! His eye for photography is uncanny and I LOVE the way our photos turned out. My husband isn't a fan of having his photo taken but Gary made him feel comfortable and even got him to smile for some of the pictures! We just met with Rodney to go over our album design and I couldn't be more excited to see how it's going to turn out! The photos from the wedding are unbelievable! We also were only supposed to have two photographers but they ended up bringing a third! Between the three of them they captured every moment I saw and countless others that I didn't even know were going on! They are definitely pricey but well worth it! I will treasure these photos and the album for a lifetime!

Tabatha and Jerry at Rodney Bailey photographed my wedding and did an INCREDIBLE job. They were so responsive, enthusiastic, professional and flexible! Tabatha and Gary took soooo many beautiful pictures, and Rodney designed a beautiful album. There are lots of great photographers in the DC area, but if you want to make sure your album doesn't look like it was designed by an amateur, Rodney Bailey is it. We recently had our wedding at the Hay-Adams hotel and we were VERY happy with how everything turned out with Rodney Bailey Photography.

The RB style is "photojournalism" photography, so they tend to keep out of the way and capture candid moments throughout the event, making sure to grab those iconic shots when available.

Our specific photographer was Tabitha, assisted by Stephanie, and she did a fantastic job. She made us feel very comfortable and brought a lot of knowledge of the venue to make sure she got the perfect shots.

We enjoyed working with Tabitha so much leading up to the wedding that we also booked her for a related family ceremony the day before. That day included a lot of posed photos, and while it wasn't really their specialty, Tabitha was more than happy to oblige the family's needs.

The only other note is that RB has a high price tag, but it's absolutely worth it if you want to make a quality investment in your wedding photos.

It was a pleasure working with my photographer's Naomi and Syed. They were definitely trained well under Rodney's tutelage. I rarely noticed them when they were grabbing candid shots of the group and boy did they get some fun shots. I loved my formal photos. They definitely were able to get my good side. I would definitely recommend the photographers and RB to anybody who wishes for quality Photography company in the D.C. area. A little expensive but worth the price.
