This place was horrible. First off, walking in it looks like it hasn't been updated since the 70's. Then the mean lady that runs the place leaves a bad taste in my mouth. They were my first stop for a wedding dress. The lady was very short with me and didn't even have clips to hold the dress back so that I could walk around to see if i liked it. She just holds it with her hands. I went there because they are one of the few places that carried Pronovias. Anyways, I left there and found my perfect dress at The White Room. (See my other reviews) So then it came time to get bridesmaids dresses, I thought I would try them again since they were the only ones that carried the brand/style i wanted. I was nervous about just ordering off a picture online. So I sucked it up and went back in. Bad Idea!!! The same rude lady showed me the dress I wanted for my girls. I had my sister with me to try it on but the lady wouldn't even let her try it on unless we ordered it first. She said something about since I didn't buy my dress from there that the only way we could try it on is if we ordered and payed first. My sister and I threw the dress at her and stormed out.

Village Bridal was the only dress shop in Nashville that carried the designer I was looking for. However, when I arrived to pick up my dress 2 months after trying it on to be altered, they had just started working on it that morning and it wasn't ready when they had promised. I lived out of town and I had expressed to them that I needed it ready by a certain date. It only took them 2 hours to finish the alterations they had just started. They insisted that I get my dress altered as soon as possible even though I told them I planned on losing weight. They charged $200 to alter my dress even though I was quoted only $100 (To take a small amount in on the sides). They only made very small alterations and as I had planned I lost 10 lbs before my wedding and needed it altered again before my wedding date. I found a different alteration place and they did the same alterations that Village bridal did for $50. I found later that they were over charging for the dress that I had purchased. The ladies at the shop were very nice, but I feel like they were also a bit pushy about selling their dress. My dress was beautiful though and I ended up buying the first dress I tried on.

Beautiful gowns. Seamstress on site who does impeccable work. Make sure to have an appointment to try on gowns and for alterations, if you buy.
