We cannot say enough amazing things about Sari & the Tropical Weddings team. Planning a destination wedding in Puerto Rico from Connecticut felt overwhelming at first, but Sari made the entire process feel effortless.
She was organized, professional, and incredibly thoughtful every step of the way. She kept us on track, communicated clearly, and recommended vendors that perfectly matched our vision and budget—every single one was amazing. She even went above and beyond to manage packages we shipped ahead of time and had backup plans ready when weather caused delays, which gave us so much peace of mind.

We feel incredibly lucky to have found Sari as our wedding planner. Planning a wedding from another continent could have been overwhelming — my husband is American, and we live in Europe — but Sari made the entire process feel smooth, organized, and stress-free.
From the very beginning, she understood and respected our wishes. When I explained that we wanted a small, intimate ceremony followed by a simple reception dinner, she immediately knew how to bring that vision to life. She clearly outlined every step, sent thoughtful recommendations, kept track of all the details, contacted vendors, confirmed reservations, and was always quick to respond to questions, no matter how small.
What stood out most was how supported and heard I felt throughout the process. Sari was incredibly attentive, calm, and reliable, which gave us so much peace of mind while planning from afar. Choose Sari and John as your wedding planning team, take a deep breath, and know that everything will be taken care of. Most of you are new to planning a wedding. We certainly were. My wife and I are accustomed to being in charge of things in our careers. Our initial approach to preparing for our wedding was: sure, we will go through the motions of hiring our wedding planner, but we would still ultimately be the ones to work hard and make sure things are going smoothly. This strategy somewhat worked for the first couple of months. But as the the big day got closer my wife and I realized that we had no what we were doing. Due to all of our overthinking we got stressed. Sari called me (the groom) one day and with a gentle but blunt tone that I have grown to adore and basically told me to do ourselves a favor and take a step back. With many years of experience and an artistic vision at her disposal, she explained in detail how the wedding would ACTUALLY go and that we needed to finally let go and trust that they would handle things.
Sari and John were amazing. They were always prepared to fix any and everything that could possible go wrong most times before it got that far. They were amazing at emotional support and keeping our (read: the bride's) stress low. The wedding day was more beautiful and "perfect" than I ever imagined it being. Sari and Jon were so pleasant to work with. We had a wedding venue with a blank canvas of a venue and they helped turn it into a magical evening.
Their hands on approach and helpful advice leading to the wedding day helped make the planning process simple and fun and their ninja like work on the day of the ceremony made it so we could relax and enjoy everything they helped us pull together.
Highly recommend for people looking to co-ordinate multiple vendors to pull together an event and looking for a fun, hands on experience.

Sari made our destination wedding so simple. She handled all the arrangements that would have been difficult logistically for us, and gave us the perfect, intimate wedding in a beautiful setting. She was available by phone, text and email, and kept in close contact with me about my vision and wishes for the perfect day. On the day of the wedding, Sari and her husband, John, were there to help finalize the details and assist my guests to cocktail hour while we took wedding photos. They love what they do and it shows. My husband and I are so happy that we worked with Tropical Weddings & Events Puerto Rico to make our amazing wedding happen. From the beginning, Sari and her team were as excited as we were and quickly got on the same page with regards to the style we wanted. This was our second wedding after having a much simpler ceremony earlier in the year, so I had some experience with weddings but nothing of this scale.
I was born and raised in Luquillo, so I wanted an event that would give the guests who had never been to Puerto Rico before an amazing experience. Tropical Weddings had vendors who were truly great and had such an eye for design. From our cake to our flowers, our food to the Piragua company who put on a show, everything was AMAZING! I'm still reeling from how beautiful everything turned out, even when it rained the ENTIRE DAY.
I'm definitely a nervous planner, but I received replies to every question I had and guidance on things I didn't even think about. The Tropical Weddings team is like no other and I can confidently say that I will be forever grateful that we were able to work together to make our dream wedding a reality. I will never forget it :) -

Working with Sari and the whole team to plan my wedding was such a wonderful experience! Sari knows all the best wedding professionals/vendors to put together an above and beyond wedding team. We have family that live in Puerto Rico who does photography for weddings as well, and she confirmed by telling us we had all the best! Tropical Weddings knows how to work with exactly what you want and make things happen! They have a ton of great connections that made the process easy and could feel good about our choices. Since my husband and I didn't even go down once to try the food or see the venue before the wedding, but we trusted in Sari and Tropical Weddings...and it turned out to be an absolute dream come true. Everything we wanted was there and are great at handling and adapting to any mishaps that may happen in a wedding. Sari and John are really great people and felt like we've always known them when we finally met after a year or so of planning! Sari and her team even beat us to the rehearsal dinner when SHE had a flight in that day! Tropical Wedding's is the real deal and you wont be disappointed on your special day. Shout out to Emily for being amazing and by my side pre and during our wedding. She was so kind and flexible. Sari and her team pulled my wedding together in less than a week. Without her expertise and knowledge of legal marriage requirements in Puerto Rico, it would not have been possible. There is no updated or accurate information online so we were very grateful for her quick reply to my emailed questions not to mention her calming demeanor. She assured me it could be done and guided us through every step, she made this bride feel that I was definitely in the right hands. The ceremony itself was small and short but wow - did she bring the emotion of the day bubbling to the surface. She was an excellent wedding officiant and we just can't say thank you enough. My husband and I decided to renew our vows in Vieques, PR May 2022. We knew we need a planner to help guide and basically help us execute our special day. Working with Sari and her team was an absolute life saver. Planning a destination wedding throughout all the challenges during the uncertainty that the last year of COVID brought was very stressful. But Sari’s constant support, and on the ground knowledge of restrictions helped us plan and evaluate all of our options leading up to the wedding. She always was bringing to the table solutions to issues, or planning out back up plans just to be safe---and as a constant worrier of all of the “what ifs” that greatly reduce my stress and anxiety around having so many family and friends travel from mainland US to Puerto Rico. We even were fortunate enough to be able to make a trip down to Puerto Rico prior to the wedding and Sari helped us coordinate a venue visit, food tasting and hotel selection.
Sari was so incredibly helpful with bringing the highest quality vendors to the table, and helped us communicate with those vendors who may not have answered me as fast as I would have liked. Her past experience working at the venue we selected and the good relationships she has established with each of the vendors on our team really helped everything move smoothly from contract/price discussions all the way through the big day.
We owe Sari, John and Sam more thanks than we could ever say aloud for the best wedding experience for us and for our guests. Her team was available from the moment we arrived in Puerto Rico. They coordinated a quick visit to the venue a few days before the wedding, were present to help during the rehearsal run through and rehearsal dinner at the hotel the day before. On the big day, their team was there every step of the way, corralling our wedding parties and guests, giving a tour of the grounds to our photographer, fetching my veil and flowers and always refilling my drink all night long (thank you Sam). All our guests came up to us on the wedding and the days after telling us that this was one of the most beautiful and fun weddings they have attended—and we have Sari and her team to thank for that.
The Tropical Weddings team will forever be an amazing part of the memory we have of our wedding day, and I owe them so many hugs and thanks for their support in the planning process!

They go above and beyond for their clients. My wife and I could not have been happier while planning our wedding. When we first picked Puerto Rico to be our wedding location we thought we could do it ourselves but then we found Sari and quickly realized how hard it would’ve been to navigate on our own. She knows EVERYBODY! We had a budget and they made sure we stuck as close to it as possible. Sari and her staff worked with my deployment schedule and continued working with my spouse in the planning while I was away. Let’s not forget John, he is a hoot! They were both a pleasure to work with and really made things that much more special. Our big day was magical. Tropical Weddings is military and LGTBQ+ friendly. We 1100% recommend Tropical Weddings to anyone looking to plan a destination wedding in Puerto Rico. -

Sari and John ROCK!
My husband and I can't say enough great things about Sari and John. We literally planned a wedding in three weeks, while living in Chicago, and we would not have been able to pull if off without them. We wanted a no frill, intimate ceremony on a beach with a sunset and that is exactly what we got. We wanted to change the venue the day before the wedding and they made it happen. As a bride on her wedding day I felt NO stress (other than when the Uber's car broke down on the highway, but I was still very calm :)). Sari was (and still is!) so responsive to emails and text messages. Sari and John are a great team and so much fun! They picked us up at our Airbnb and dropped us off at dinner. They even hung out with us and shared a drink with us to celebrate! We have made new friends for life and we can't wait to see them when we return to Puerto Rico! -

Can't say enough good things about Sari & John. I contacted her in 2016 but after some stuff and Hurricane Maria, everything was on hold. Last year she contacted me to check status, and honestly, we forgot about it. After what was supposed to be a small wedding, became too much, I was a wreck. Emailed her and she called me right away. Made me feel calm and reminded me how special that day was supposed to be. Quick reply, even when she was out of the country or unavailable, great vendors suggestions and amazing at taking care of big and small "issues". She took care of vendors quotes and contacting them, wedding timeline, everything!!! Wedding day was a breeze thanks to her, always keeping an eye on us, making us feel taking care of. They gave us great advice that we've never thought or heard of, but helped us a lot! THANK YOU!!!!! -

Absolutely Amazing
There are not enough good things we could say about Sari & John. After hiring them and booking our venue and vendors, we had one of the worst things happen- our venue canceled 4 months before our wedding. Sari was fantastic getting a new place booked and coordinating all of the details. She recommended and helped book the best vendors. If anything came up, they were so quick to work on fixing any issue, before the wedding and the day of. During and after the wedding, our family and friends could not commend Sari & John enough on how great they were planning and coordinating the event. I know without a doubt our wedding would have been a disaster without them there. We are forever thankful for the wonderful job they did making our day spectacular. Highly, highly recommend to anyone looking for any type of wedding, big or small! -

Sari and John were life savers in this wedding process. First time we met they took us to La Hacienda where my husband and I decided we didn't need to look further. Everything after that was coordinated in getting vendors, last minute details and everything in between. I was very stressed out the last couple months, as any bride would be, and they were there to take that away. The hired the "dream team" for my wedding and essentially thats why I think everything turned out perfectly. My guests were even telling me how well everybody working was in sync and how attentive Sari was in helping out with guests needs. The day of our rehearsal there was some suspicious heavy rain for a bit and it kinda scared everybody, but John assured it it wouldn't rain. Wedding day arrives - Johns mom cleared the skies for us to have our day uninterrupted! Overall, my wedding turned out just the way every girl dreams - perfect and with her Prince Charming. Sari and John made every bit of that happen and I'm glad my husband and I met them and I look forward to working with them again someday! Thank you so much! -

We decided to have our wedding during an 8-day cruise. The price, service, location, and all that was included with Tropical Weddings far exceeded what the cruise lines had a to offer. Also, as a LGBTQ+ couple we were unable to hold our dream beach front ceremony at several of the other port locations (told no by the venues). Sari and John said yes and then helped us every step of the way. Planning a wedding in San Juan from North Carolina was nerve wracking, yet everything came together perfectly. After a few searches, we were contacted by Sari and John who helped us plan the perfect wedding. Our initial wedding date was set for Oct 5, 2017. However, we had to postpone our wedding because of Hurricane Maria. Shortly after the hurricane we were able to reschedule the wedding for May 2018. My husband and I were absolutely amazed and overjoyed with Sari and John in helping to plan and put together a beautiful wedding. Both were so amazing and easy to work with and made of lives so easy. And stress free for the bride and groom because Tropical Wedding took care of everything!! I highly recommend Tropical Weddings if you want to get married in PR.

When my husband and I decided to get married on his beautiful home island of Puerto Rico I knew I wanted to make it a wonderful experience for both our family and friends, many who would be visiting the island for the first time. Sari had overwhelmingly positive reviews so I decided to book with Tropical Weddings. We had over a year to plan and me being the procrastinator I am had to be reminded many times to keep on track. Sari was on top of everything and would email me and answer all my questions. She also gave suggestions on how to make our day special. However, nothing could compare to how important it was having her and John there when it came to crunch time. She knows all the "right" people on the island and helped us get our venue in order and getting our marriage license was a breeze. On the big day I couldn't imagine having pulled it off without the two of them. She allowed me to relax and enjoy the day while her and John worried about all the details. All I had to do was have fun and look pretty while Sari and John told me what came next. LOL. I'm very grateful I chose Tropical Weddings as our wedding planner.

Katie Sent on 01/18/2018We decided to get married in Puerto Rico because we loved the idea of a beautiful, exotic and unique experience but also because we wanted to do something to help. Tourism and destination weddings are a huge boon for the economy there and we knew our money would go toward something that not only meant something to us but to people who were getting things going again. This was not an easy task considering Hurricane Irma and Maria had devastated the island and many hotels and businesses were still without power. One hotel we inquired at passed along our information to Sari and I feel that it was meant to be. She and John went above and beyond for us, and created a perfect wedding package for us on the beach. They worked out everything we needed in a short amount of time and despite the challenges that remain. I can't say enough about the experience other than I encourage anyone who is thinking about having a wedding in a tropical location to give Puerto Rico and Sari a true chance. We had the wedding of our dreams and have the pictures and memories to match.

Yolanda Sent on 07/22/2015There are not enough stars for Sari, Saul and her team ! What more can I say she's absolutely fabulous! Really I took a backseat and enjoyed my big day while she took care of every single detail and her ideas were perfect for my little intimate wedding that was 23 years overdue just us and our four daughters ? . She is extremely professional and truly awesome !!! She made my big day stress free and perfect!!
