  The Salon in Ames was extremely flexible with my crazy wedding schedule. Not only did I schedule my appointments fairly last minute (only 5 weeks before the wedding!), but two of my bridesmaids decided last minute to get their make up done. The staff was very willing to make that happen, and we were able to get everyone in and out in the allotted time. Allie was the one who did my hair. She is pretty young, and at first I was concerned, but she really proved herself. She did a fantastic job with my hair and made me feel completely at ease with her easy-going attitude. I got hundreds of compliments on both my hair and make up.

  My sister and I went in for a hair trial in May before my June 16, 2018 wedding. We worked with Emma, the most fun, flexible, and creative hair stylist and make-up artist. I felt like I'd known Emma my whole life; it was just so easy to talk to her about what I wanted and to chat about the wedding and life with her. I showed her an image of something I was thinking about, and she made my hair look even more beautiful than the picture. I wasn't sure what I wanted for make-up, but she shared her knowledge about what make-up and lip color will bring out which color in my eyes, and we went with a pretty natural look for my face with a light eye shadow and deep red lip color to bring out the green tone in my eyes. When I went to theSalon on the day of the wedding, she incorporated a hair piece that I bought into the hairstyle and made me look gorgeous for the big day. She also did my sister's hair and make-up, and both of us could not have been happier I would recommend theSalon--particularly Emma--to anyone!

  Their professional makeup is Smashbox. The consultation I had for foundation was great, I didn't feel rushed and she finished the look with some blush. I had never worn blush before, so it was a great little teaching moment. The pricing is expensive, but that is a reflection of the product and not the salon. They were also able to get me in within a few days from when I called.
