The Music Guys with DJ at Large are an outstanding act!

All of the pre-planning with Jim (The Music Guys) was super easy! His instructions were clear, and his portal for choosing music was detailed and fun to work through. The evening of our event Jim brought along El Erby (DJ at Large). Their "act" was outstanding! They played all of the songs we requested in the pre-planning, and then added songs that fit the mood perfectly. Excellent partnership!

Wonderful all around!!

Jim and El did an amazing job as DJs for our daughter’s wedding. They were so professional in the planning process and always answered us in a very timely manner. They were able to accommodate any request we had for the sound needed for the outdoor ceremony and seamlessly transitioned to the reception sound. Jim worked with my daughter and the playlist and mixes were awesome and kept everyone of all ages on the dance floor. I would highly recommend The Music Guys to anyone who needs a fun, professional and reliable DJ!

Wedding reception DJ

The Music Guys recently provided the music at my daughter’s wedding reception, and Jim was fantastic. Not only is he professional and talented at his job, he held my hand through the whole process and offered me and my daughter invaluable advice, based on his years in the business, giving us tips and do’s and don’ts that really made a huge positive impact on the whole experience. I would use him again in a heartbeat, and cannot recommend him highly enough.

The Music Guys are fabulous! Jim is the best DJ around! Five solid hours of fun & dancing for our daughter’s wedding reception! Jim made it so much fun! Everyone could have danced all night! Best DJ ever!!!

Jim was absolutely fantastic to work with! He was so flexible with us and helpful in the planning process. At the reception, he made everything flow so perfectly and really played a big part in making our night so magical. I even had a few people come up to me on the dance floor and ask who our DJ was because he was doing such a fantastic job. We ended up adding on an extra hour or dancing because the party was so lively. 100/10 definitely use The Music Guys!!!

The Music Guys (Jim Dunham) did a great job at my daughter's wedding reception! He played music that engaged the crowd and provided a fun atmosphere. I just wanted to take a second to say thank you so much for being such an incredible DJ at our wedding. From the moment we hired you, I felt so good knowing that you would take care of the "flow" and the "feel" of the reception, and you did just that. We weren't sure how it would go without having alcohol, but you still made it feel like such a party! Even after getting behind schedule, you still managed to find a way to fit everything in. You played great music and kept the crowd engaged. You are great at what you do, and I know years of experience have made you into the DJ that you are today! DJ Jim was the unsung hero of the day. From the advice on how to do our timeline, to the songs to pick for each moment, Jim was ready to make our day the best! He was so engaging and focused. Could not have been better!

I truly had no idea how receptions were supposed to go. I have never been married before. I met the DJ for the first time, and everything went smoothly. Later, he gave me a run through of how everything was supposed to go. He basically planned my whole reception, get everything running on time, and kept the crowd laughing while telling "The Love Story" !! I had many people come up to me and tell me it was one of the most fun receptions they had ever been to! He was completely right about something I never considered before, "a DJ from the bar is not a wedding DJ" Depending on tastes, sometimes a bar dj can make a reception tasteLESS by playing music your grandmother needs the urban dictionary for and causes awkward dancing when the first daddy daughter dance slowly transitions "to the windows, to the walls." If I had to do it again, I would do it the same way, hiring The Music Guys, Jim Dunham.

The Music Guys were fantastic!!! I was told by many family and friends that they would not be dancing, but Jim had the music selection just right to get everybody out on the dance floor. He was also very responsive with any questions I had. The love story he put together was the best!! Overall, I could not have imagined it being any better!

My now sister-in-law recommended using The Music Guys for our wedding, and man am I sure glad we did! From the get go I knew I was in good hands when meeting Jim. He was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish! If you want someone who is thorough, knows his stuff, and will make your party awesome, you want to work with Jim! He worked with me on the music for my ceremony, the reception, gave me tips and guided me through the process with such kindness and then the wedding came and WOW! Everyone had such a blast dancing, he continued to keep us all entertained and happy. I will forever remember how special our night was because of how much fun we both had with our families and guests dancing! (He was so good, my Grandfather even danced which is RARE!) If you need a DJ for your wedding this is hands down the way to go! You will not be disappointed and not only that but you will be less stressed knowing that your music/reception needs will be met and then some! I can't thank Jim & his team enough for the hard work and great time they delivered!

The Music Guy spent a long time with us in planning the play list. Of course, he wanted to play the bride and groom's favorites, but he also asked for the parents favorite songs. A big win for this MOB.

The Music Guys were great!! From the day we first contacted them to the day of our wedding, we got nothing but quality service, respect, and timely responses. Jim and his staff were very flexible in working with our ideas and needs. They helped to make our rainy wedding day turn into to a blast! It was perfect and everything we could have imagined and more. They read our crowd well and played music for all ages and tastes. We thoroughly enjoyed our reception and from the pictures and videos that we have seen thus far, everyone at our reception had a great time as well. The sore legs, dirty dresses/pants, and tired feet were well worth it because we had the time of our life at our reception. Thank you Music Guys!!

If you're the type of couple who loves to dance, loves a wide variety of music, and appreciates a DJ that knows when to hype up the crowd and when to let the music do the talking, book these guys. EVERYONE CHOOSE MUSIC GUYS! Jim is a wonderful person to work with. I loved him at my wedding, he made sure my songs were perfect and played when supposed to and kept the crowd attentive and alert! I would not even hesitate to book The Music Guys for any event. They were professional, accommodating and most of all SO MUCH FUN!!! I had multiple people tell me it was the most fun wedding they had ever been to and I am 100% sure it was because The Music Guys got everyone up dancing and knew exactly how to work the room. They are worth the money and you will not regret hiring them!!

I have nothing negative to say about Jim with the Music Guys. From the moment we hired him, we worried about nothing. He has an amazing system that is very easy to use, to ensure that you and your guests get to hear all the music they desire at your reception. I was most impressed by his quickness to respond to questions. Usually I would get a reply within 5 minutes after sending an email. I will definitely recommend Jim with the Music Guys to any one I know getting married! He's the best!

Jim and Tanner were so incredible! Our wedding reception for our bride and her groom was non-stop music. Our guests danced the entire night! The Music Guys were very flexible in adapting the timeline for the wedding party entrance, cake cutting, flower and garter toss, etc. However, we followed their suggestions, using songs the bride and groom had chosen. As the MOB, I had several requests, and they were executed flawlessly (even using some props for the bridesmaids as a surprise for the bride). As we live 500 miles from the event, we never met face-to-face, nor had we heard The Music Guys at work. However, the bride and groom met them prior to engaging them for the event and had an instant connection. Jim was always timely with phone calls, texts, and emails. I have run out of affirmative adjectives when expressing my happiness with their care for this most important event. AWESOME!!

The music guys were great! They handled all the coordination of events at our reception which made not having a wedding planner perfectly fine! They got our guests involved right away and kept us on the dance floor until we had to leave! They also gave us great ideas and suggestions to make our reception one of a kind! I recommended them before we used them and I will continue to recommend them for years to come!

All I know to say is that Jim and Tanner are absolutey amazing! It's almost been a month since our wedding and our friends and family are still talking about them. They were complete life savers! The week of the wedding the DJ I originally hired quit and Jim immediately set up a meeting with us the next night and put our minds to ease! The wide spectrum of music for ALL of our guests was awesome and Jim and Tanner did a great job tag teaming the crowd! They definitely saved the day and took away the stress. SO happy that things worked out the way they did because it was absolutey a night to remember. Now I just can't wait for one of my friends to get married so I can hire them again??????

Jim did an amazing job! Kept the party going and played such a wide spectrum of music that ALL of my guests had an amazing time!! Jim and Tanner are amazing. As the husband I was given one responsibility and it was to find music for the reception. Let me just say because of Jim my responsibility became the easiest.. Jim from day one met with me any time I needed and responds immediately to every request. The Music Guys know what they are doing so let them do it. Even when I brought up some not so great ideas they listened, smiled, and steered me in the right direction. They provided us with an agenda and coordinated with all our vendors to make sure the party went off without a hitch. Tanner and Jim have a great feel for people and are amazing entertainers. Also, the wife's side of the family came from all over the country from New York to Pureto Rico and so many other places and Jim was amazing dealing with any request to suite everyone's reception desires. He improvised when chaos ensued but most of all the Music Guys kept everyone dancing and that made my wife's night. If you're looking for a stress free-night long party, the music guys will not let you down.

Jim is a very personable guy, and really loves his job. The crowd feeds off him, and he is a good judge of music and knows what to play and when to play it. I would highly recommend Jim to anyone wanting a great music.

Jim Dunham with the Music Guys was an amazing DJ for our wedding day. Anytime I had a question, he was very quick to respond to my emails. He was very easy to work with and open to my ideas and suggestions. He was always very professional during our encounters. I was very impressed by his organization. We did the "Love Story" which everyone loved. After the wedding, so many people complimented our DJ. Everyone had a blast thanks to the great music Jim played. He is really good at reading the crowd and playing the right song at the right moment. We were so happy with out choice to hire Jim as our DJ and would recommend him to anyone planning a wedding.

These guys were a blast to work with! Communication was always easy and we always got a VERY quick response! (which us bride-to-bes) LOVE! They sent us LOTS of great tips and planning advice all along and made planning the reception thoughtless. They really have their stuff together! Jim did a wonderful job! He really listened to exactly what I wanted, and we had a blast! I am so glad we took the time to fill out the introduction sheet for our wedding party and the love story. They truly made our reception special!

We hired The Music Guys to DJ our wedding and we could not have been more pleased with our decision! From the very beginning of booking The Music Guys to the last song they played it was a hit! They sent out frequent emails with helpful hints and advice for picking out wedding music. The website was very user friendly and exceptionally easy to mark our music requests. The DJ, Tanner, was very professional and accommodating! I would definitely recommend The Music Guys and hire them again for any event needing a DJ!

Jim was great! We hired him to DJ our wedding reception at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts. We loved the ability to make requests prior to the ceremony. He also offers tons of ways to personalize your reception to how you want it. We requested different genres of music during cocktails, dinner, then dancing and he made the transition between each very smooth and his selection of music was great. He was on time and very professional. He was always smiling and looked happy to be there. We also got the added bonus of having Tanner attend with him, who demonstrated several dance moves and added to the party atmosphere. Overall, we were very pleased with the service, and would highly recommend The Music Guys!

So glad we chose The Music Guys as our DJ! We had a blast! The weeks leading up to the wedding, Jim sent out helpful emails to make the day less stressful...he is extremely organized and will answer your emails almost immediately ...I loved this! The Music Guys made the night of the wedding magical! The lights and music were awesome...they played practically everything we requested. Jim kept the whole night organized announcing the cake cutting to the sparkler send off and everything in between...no need for a wedding coordinator! One of the guys was always out on the dance floor to make sure we knew the steps to all the popular dances...it was too much fun! I wanna have another party just to have them as our DJ again soon! Can't say enough good things! :)

Tanner was amazing!! This was his first event, but you would think he's been doing this for years. He was very involved and made sure that his main goal was to make our wedding as perfect for us as possible! We definitely recommend The Music Guys!!!!

Jim loves what he does. He is training Tanner to do the same. At first, I was put off a little by the amount of confidence portrayed by Jim in what he does. Don't let this stop you! He was worth every penny and was the easiest vendor I worked with by far! Being a bride is stressful and chaotic and Jim was there every step of the way, responded to calls/emails/texts immediately and helped with questions that didn't even involve music! Extremely professional and organized. His music quality and variety was great and his sound system as well. I don't have a single guest that has complained about the music. Pick The Music Guys... you won't be let down. :)

Jim was so easy to work with. He responded to emails very promptly, and was very flexible. I even texted him the night before our event to ask if he could change something small, and he was happy to. He has a guest music request system, and when some of my guests added songs in a genre I had previously asked Jim not to be played, he sent me that list. It was a bad joke that people will inevitably try to play, but Jim had it covered!

Our original wedding date had to be moved. Jim was very understanding about it and he was still able to be our DJ. At first I was just going to have him be our DJ for the reception but then the venue we picked was such that Jim could do our ceremony music as well. He did an awesome job with everything! He was able to get everyone up and dancing which I was slightly surprised about since most of the guests were on the older side (mainly just uncles and aunts came, some cousins and friends). I had asked Jim if he could play a song that I wanted to sing to (for my parents) and he was able to do so. My mother loved it when I sang. I could not have asked for a better DJ. I love Jim! His personality fit perfectly with mine and what I wanted our DJ to be like.

Jim Dunham is an amazing DJ! I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ. I have witnessed him play at several of my friends weddings, as well as my own. Additionally, he was the DJ at the very first ball my husband and I attend nearly 5 years ago when we first starting dating. He knows how to make a wedding reception run so smooth and on point. It was such a huge sigh of relief to leave things in his very capable hands. He is highly organized, easy to contact/speak with, and an absolute pleasure to work with. He really did help to take some of the wedding planning stress away! Also he knows how to throw a party, and keep the party atmosphere alive through the whole evening - Let my no alcohol, inside a church venue, on the HOTTEST day of the year reception be the ultimate example of just how good he is. Jim, I need to thank you for what an amazing job you did and how you made our wedding and reception absolutely spectacular. I can't count how many times I was asked "Who is the DJ!? He was AMAZING!" Every single person had stated that it was The BEST WEDDING RECEPTION they had EVER been to. And trust me I can tell when our friends and family are just being kind versus being honest. I must add, that my father was a traveling DJ who DJ'd weddings, clubs and café's. I have met a ton of DJ's and honestly, you blew away any DJ I have ever met/heard.

You spent SO MUCH time organizing our timeline and getting the details just right. We could not have done it without you. While preparing for the wedding, it was mentioned multiple times that unfortunately we didn't have a "wedding coordinator" but that it didn't matter because "our DJ was amazing and even better than a coordinator". Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to our big day!!!!

I won't lie, I called several other people before calling "the music guys" and guess what? None of them answered!!! The music guys answered on the first ring and he was full of energy and at that moment I was so glad nobody else answered their phone! He is so sweet and funny. We met in person to go over arrangements and music (we went out to eat, and I invited my wedding coordinator along) he bought our lunch.... Got all my details... Had a great conversation and we laughed nearly the whole time. He is hilarious. I loved him!!! He still did my wedding even though he had a huge gig the night before this means he hardly had no sleep!!! He was there on time and ready to go. Music was beautiful and absolutely no errors or issues. We had a blast!!! He even played red solo cup, and I loved it and so did my guests. We had an amazing time at our wedding. The Music Guys were very easy to work with. Jim was very quick at responding to my emails and I loved how he planned out the reception timeline for me. It was one less thing I had to worry about. Jim Dunham of the Music Guys was amazing! He was recommended to me when I was looking for a DJ for my wedding while I was attending class out of state and he communicated with me throughout the entire planning process. Jim planned a timeline for our entire reception and his signature "Love Story" was loved by everyone who attended. We have had multiple people who have told us Jim was the best DJ of any wedding they had been to and they loved how much fun he made the reception as well as how much fun Jim seemed to have while DJing our event. He kept the dance floor full!

My husband (then fiance) and I were in a car accident two months before the wedding. I was okay, but he suffered a broken knee that required surgery and immobilization for two months (he got out of the wheelchair literally two days before the wedding, and had to sit on a stool during the ceremony). During those two months, I was finalizing wedding plans, working full time, and transporting him to and from his job every day - and his work hours were different from mine. Needless to say, I was spread a little thin as the wedding approached! My parents finally vetoed my plan to hook up an iPod for music at the wedding and called Jim. He was SO kind and helpful to me! It took a massive weight off my shoulders, and he did a great job livening up my afternoon wedding crowd.

The Music Guys did more than I could have ever imagined! Jim truly was amazing, and I'm so thankful for finding him. He listened to my wants and needs, and he also gave his opinion with allowing me to still choose in the end. He sent out emails monthly, then he sent them weekly closer to the wedding. It was almost as if he was reading my mind about my stresses and concerns, because each of his emails hit on everything! His music request system is easy to use and is up to date with all of the new music. My husband and I have very eclectic taste in music, and Jim worked with us on getting music he didn't already have. He also does a Love Story which is FANTASTIC! We loved it so much! He told our story of our relationship for our guests who may not have known everything about us. My wedding was at 2:30pm, and he get an entire dance floor dancing for 4 hours nonstop! All of my guests kept asking me where I found him and how great he was. Word of advice, a good DJ is the best way to spend your budget, and The Music Guys is the way to go.

Couldn't possibly be any happier with everything about our experience with hiring Jim and the Music Guys for our wedding reception. From the first time we emailed him looking for a DJ to the hug he gave my husband and I as we left the reception- we were totally impressed by Jim. He added so much to our reception and we've received compliments over a year later about how our reception was the most fun one many people have attended. He had the whole place (almost 200 people) out on the dance floor having a blast. Jim is great at reading a crowd and knowing what to play to get guests of all ages out and having a good time. The Love Story part of the reception was an extra nice touch for those in attendance that didn't know each of us equally well because it offered such insight to how we got to our wedding day. When I was engaged and searching for a DJ my two main concerns were cost and entertainment. I didn't have a large budget to spend but I still wanted to find the right DJ that would make our reception fun. My husband and I were so lucky to have found both qualities in The Music Guys! From day one Jim went above and beyond to make sure all of my bridal needs were met and made sure that all the details of my reception were just the way I wanted them to be. We had such a blast at my reception and The Music Guys were even able to get some of the elderly guests at my wedding up and moving. He made our "Love Story" segment at our wedding so personalized and it was such a great moment for us and our guests. Jim had me at hello, and it wasn't bc of his sexy radio voice. Literally, I didn't even bother calling another DJ service. His exuberant personality, professionalism, charm and character exuded over the phone lines. I pretty much asked,"how much?" He should have charged me more. I would have paid a lot more. He played all of the songs (90% eighties), that this bride wanted to hear to make her day memorable including the ones dedicated to my late father. He also included music to make the reception fun for people of all ages in attendance. He also surprised me with a video of the dance floor hopping like it's the 4th of July, which I cherish to this day and consider very thoughtful. Jim's definitely down with OPP

Jim goes so far above and beyond providing music that I feel that it would be unfair to refer to him as a DJ. Every facet of his service is designed to ensure that the occasion is memorable for everyone involved. I do not have room to give the review he deserves. I will say that two years after my wedding I have no clue how much I paid for his services, but I clearly remember what a great time everyone had at the reception. Our 5 year anniversary will be this November. When I look back at my reception one thing sticks out to me, our DJ. He did something that I have never to this day seen at a wedding reception. He told our love story! He took a little information from myself and my husband and turned it into a beautiful, funny, entertaining, and spot on story about how we got to our wedding day. I still get compliments about how great it was 5 years later! Do yourself a favor and stop looking for a DJ because you can't get any better than this one!

Best DJ ever! Made my wedding a memorable event - with perfect picks based on my husband and I, as well as our guests! Knew how to get everyone dancing! Don't bother picking anyone else. This is THE ONE!

Jim Dunham with The Music Guys is AMAZING!! He played all sorts of music and made our wedding reception so memorable! Everyone was dancing and enjoying themselves. His professionalism is unbeatable and he went above and beyond to make sure we were getting exactly what we paid for. Would highly recommend him to anyone!

EVERYONE absolutely loved Jim "The Music Guys" Dunham! (dot com) From the very beginning. He was just so nice, and easy to talk to, and not salesman annoying. (Huge part for me)
I had a destination wedding, when I booked his services, he was very helpful with everything WEDDING!!! (And willing to travel!) He asked about things I hadn't thought about, helped me plan the music and the timing of my wedding and reception! He would call me every once in awhile just to make sure I was doing OK, and if I needed help with anything! I'm not going to lie, there were times I was freaking out with all the pressure. Whenever I called Jim about my current freak, he always helped me down from the crazy I presented him. If he was busy, he called me back ASAP! His customer service is top notch!
A very important part (I thought) of my wedding was my entrance with my dad. I played "The Reason," redone by Vitamin String Quartet. It was one of the most poignant moments of my life, and with Jim the timing and music were perfect! (Outstanding!!!) During my wedding reception he kept things ROCKING and Rolling, kept the ENERGY high!!!!!!!!!. He kept me informed about what was coming up! (I needed it!) Toward the end, he took requests, and played the old school awesomeness, and hip hop classics that we all know and love! We had so much fun, Everyone LOVED him!!! Danced for days!!!
Amazing DJ, laid back, cool, easy to work with, BEST GUY AROUND! Would use him again in half a heartbeat!!!

Jim was more than willing to work with me across many miles to accommodate my wishes and needs for our big day! His online system for requests ensured that people were up dancing all night long at the reception and his assistance during the ceremony for some of the music numbers was invaluable. Overall I think he made our night!

Wonderful DJ who stayed in contact with me even the week of the wedding when we had to make some minor adjustments to the schedule. He kept the people at the reception dancing up until the last song. I would truly recommend him to anyone needing a DJ service.

Jim made our wedding reception so much fun. He got the crowd involved. He kept everyone active and moving. There were several of our guests that complimented his taste and style of music. Jim will not disappoint. Aside from the music Jim was professional, punctual and held the utmost respect for my husband, myself, our requests for our reception and our guests. I was so thankful that he was available to DJ our reception. I recommend Jim Dunham/The Music Guys for any event that needs a DJ.

1) Quality of Service: 5.0 In a word, OUTSTANDING. In more words, just great, everything went off without a hitch. The songs we requested were worked in as they could be and everyone had a blast. In fact, if you're not worn out from the good time you'll have, I'd suggest seeing a doctor, because you have no pulse. 2) Responsiveness: 5.0 Prompt and professional throughout the whole process, from song selection to helping orchestrate the flow of the wedding. 3) Professionalism: 5.0 He listened to what my wife wanted, he played the music I wanted and he treated our guests with respect. What more could I ask for? 4) Value: 5.0 For the amount of money we paid, we got much more than our money’s worth. I’m sure his rates have probably gone up since our wedding in 2008 but I can assure you he’s worth it! 5) Flexibility: I would give him a 10, but the highest I can give is 5.0 Jim is based in Alabama and our wedding was in Texas. But I knew I wanted him after seeing him perform before and he made the trip to perform at my wedding reception. The bottom line is that we had a WONDERFUL time and a TERRIFIC reception. In conclusion, if you HIRE The Music Guys, your party will be the talk of the town for years to come.

Jim did an AWESOME job and everyone had such a great time. I would recommend The Music Guys to anyone that wants to have their event be super memorable and loves to have a good time. The Music Guys are definitely the best around.

Jim Dunham was absolutely wonderful! He was, by far, my favorite of all of our wedding vendors. He is so much more than just a DJ -- he helped plan every aspect of the timeline for our reception. It flowed wonderfully and everything went as expected. If you want experience, go with The Music Guys. Jim's been doing this longer than I've been alive. Don't just hire anyone to DJ your wedding. Jim caters to YOUR crowd, keeps people dancing all night -- even people I never thought would make it to the dance floor. So many people complimented us on him after the wedding. Don't look any further, just hire him. You won't regret it. And go with his recommendations -- he knows what he's talking about!

One of the best vendor decisions we made by far! From the time we signed the contract there was non stop customer support with all my questions. The forms and suggestions he sent made my planning process so much easier. He puts everything in writing and was my reception planner. To me that was well worth the price with how much more at ease I was with everything falling into place during the wedding. I cant say enough great things about the Music Guys! They are more than just playing music. The love story he gave for me and my husband was a guest favorite. I would strongly suggest anyone using a dj for their special day to make the right choice and use the Music Guys. You won't regret it. Jim is awesome!!

Jim was the BOMB! My wedding was outside at 2:00pm in the afternoon so as you can imagine I didn't have very high hopes of anyone dancing, but low and behold Jim managed to have the dance floor packed. He was extremely professional, responded to all of my emails in a very timely matter (literally within the hour of me emailing him), and totally fit our budget! He played all the songs I recommended and didn't play any of the songs on my "do not play" list. I also greatly appreciated the fact that Jim basically became our wedding planner for the reception. He made sure everything such as the garter toss, bouquet toss, cake cutting etc. happened when it was supposed to so it wasn't weighing on my shoulders. Considering that I had a very low budget a lot of the responsibilities of my wedding fell on me, but during my reception I was able to totally relax and enjoy myself and let Jim take care of everything. I wish I could upload a video on here of the dance floor during my reception because I guarantee you every one of you would be dying to book Jim. Trust me when I say to choose Jim you will not be let down!
