We had our daughter's wedding at the Surf City Yacht Club on June 23, 2018. You did a fabulous job on the 3 tiered wedding cake. The theme of the wedding was America - red, white and blue. A moist yellow cake with a fresh strawberry-blueberry-butter cream filling with white frosting and red, white and blue flowers tastefully arranged down one side. Oh and by the way, it went beautifully with the theme! Creative, delicious and beautiful! Thank you!We had our daughter's wedding at the Surf City Yacht Club on June 23, 2018. The Big Apple Bakery is a family owned bakery that has been in Manahawkin for over 30 years and it is clear when you go in for a tasting (i.e. go in on a weekend morning and you will understand just by the long line out the door). The staff is so welcoming, and Joe (the owner) is a pleasure to work with. The tasting was so easy and relaxing, not to mention the CAKE is out of this WORLD delicious. There was no question after our tasting we would book The Big Apple Bakery. I sent over a photo of how I would like the cake to look and when we showed up to our reception, I was shocked to see that the cake was a spitting image of the photo from Pinterest I sent. It was absolutely beautiful, stunning, every detail was breathtaking.
To top that, the cake was DELICIOUS!! We ended up going with vanilla cake with seedless raspberry spread and custard inside with the classic buttercream frosting. Their buttercream alone is like nothing I have ever had at any wedding. Two weeks later, I still have guests emailing, texting and Facebook messaging me about how delicious the cake was and asking what bakery we used.
It is clear that the Big Apple Bakery takes pride in what they do and pays attention to all the details. When booking your cake vendor, that is what you want - experience with a delicious recipe. I pretty much gave Joe a very brief idea of what I wanted and let he and his staff go with their creativity for our wedding cake. The cake design was perfect and just what I was looking for, the flavor of the cake was ridiculously amazing. Their butter cream is to die for! Some guests are still talking about how delicious the cake was!
We also had them cater an assortment of cupcakes and cookies for our rehearsal dinner and assorted pastries and chocolate covered strawberries for an additional option for our wedding dessert. Everything was amazing and the presentation was top notch.

The cake was amazing! I called joe 2 weeks before my wedding to see if he could make a cake and he said no problem anything we wanted. We live in north jersey so everything was done by email or over the phone. I sent him a picture of the beach wedding theme cake we wanted and it looked exactly like the picture! We got a 3 tier cake bottom tier was choc cake with fresh bananas in the middle and top 2 tiers were vanilla cake with fresh strawberries. Everyone told us how delicious the cake was! We even had pastries from big apple on our dessert table which were delicious. Joe was very easy to deal with and emailed me back immediately every time I had questions. Joe also delivered the cake and pastries the day of the wedding and set everything up. I never met joe until the day of my wedding when he ran onto the beach to introduce himself as we were getting our pictures done which was so nice! I would def. use them againThe cake was amazing! The staff at Big Apple Bakery was very easy to work with. We had called a few other bakeries in the area to set up consultations for our wedding and none were as flexible and seemed as knowledgable as the Big Apple Bakery. They were able to accomodate our availability for a tasting and had some great suggestions for us, as well as, being open to whatever ideas we had. On our wedding day, our cake was bigger and more beautiful than we imagined. Everyone at the reception agreed and said that it was delicious too. Unfortunately we did not get to try any of the other baked goods at the bakery, but they looked wonderful. We will definitely be stopping in to try some more items next time we are on our way to LBI and I would definitely recommend Big Apple Bakery other LBI area brides.The staff at Big Apple Bakery was very easy to work with.
