After being referred by two relatives I had the privilege of working with Dawn. My experience was great. The cake tasted great and was exactly what I wanted. After reading the previous review I am confused because I had a great experience and would recommend her to anyone.

Had a cake tasting with owner... Showed several pictures, she said she could do any one of those cakes no problem.. Signed contract with her and gave deposit.. Didn't hear from for months.. When wedding was approaching I emailed her to touch base and she sent me different drawings of what she "could" do. I told her I wanted what I had showed her in picture and after a run-around, she then told me I needed to get these materials, and those, and that she would see what she could do. I also said during the cake tasting that I didn't want any fondant, as my maid of honor got an allergic reaction from her cake tasting that we thought came from the fondant. The week before the wedding she said she would want to use foudant to make features stand out. At this point I didn't want to argue any more. I got the materials for the owner. I showed up at the venue and the cake was much, much smaller than I thought it would be.. Was supposed to be a cake for 100 people. She said she "knew the cake looked bad because she didn't have my materials yet." Why would you make the customer go buy materials for your cake anyways? I am a floral designer, I don't make my customers go buy their vases or flowers before I make the arrangement. Anyways... I only had one bite of the cake and got about 4 little pebble-like pieces in my mouth which I spit out. My Mom said they were the crystalized candy for the "design".... Regardless they were unedible and plus she had told me she was using fondant (which I didn't want in the first place). Bottom line---- False advertisement.

Our cake was amazing! We ordered a 4 layers cake with vanilla cake, butter cream icing and covered with fondant, with fresh strawberries in each layers. The anything was had left after the wedding was the topper! It was very moist and tasty. It was hot in the venue to she went around turning off lights to safe the cake, she wasn't going to just leave it and be gone. I was happy with the quality of cake and services that I recieved and I reccommend using Sunshine Sweets!
