SugarBakers made our wedding cakes, and they turned out absolutely perfect. I wanted to do something a bit different with the design, and SugarBakers worked with me and my caterer to create exactly what I had imagined! We had three different flavors as well, and each one was delicious. I can't recommend them highly enough, and we will be going to them for many future events as well.SugarBakers Cakes's reply:

We highly recommend Sugar Bakers cakes for any wedding or event! We had a lot of fun tasting all their flavors in their shop and found working with their team very easy. We picked the delicious cannoli flavored cake and were able to add a few extra trays of desserts last minute as well. Delivery to our venue was seamless and all our guests raved about delicious it was. We cannot recommend Sugar Bakers enough to any other future wedding couples!SugarBakers Cakes's reply:

Great Wedding Cake!
We loved our wedding cake! We wanted something simple but still tasted great. We had a 2-tiered cake with chocolate and red velvet tiers. We had a separate dulce de leche sheet cake. They were all yummy! Sugarbakers delivered our cake on time and it looked beautiful! We highly recommend them for your wedding!SugarBakers Cakes's reply:

We loved SugarBakers from the moment we had the tasting. It was difficult to decide on the flavors for our wedding cake because all of their flavors were delicious. Fortunately, each layer could be a different flavor! They were very easy to work with and made our vision for our cake a reality. Highly recommend SugarBakers!

We had Sugar Bakers make our wedding cake. We had an amazing consultation session with them. They had their curated flavor combinations set up for us in advance. It really helped us with analysis paralysis, because we were not forced to analyze the mix-and-match combinations of cakes, frostings, icings, jellies, and other flavorings. The best arrangements were there for us to compare, and it was clear that they had been thoughtful about the various combinations (like having a peach melba cake where the fluffy sponge really tasted of peach). We really liked collaborating with the staff at Sugar Bakers on our design. They never said "no," they just managed to take all the disparate elements we wanted in our cake design (we mentioned sunset colors, lavender, and jewel-toned stained glass) and synthesized them into something cohesive. We loved our cake, loved all three of our flavors, and loved working with the staff at Sugar Bakers.

Staci helped us with our wedding cake order. Fabulous experience with booking, delivery, taste and presentation! We had a 10" round almond cake with amaretto raspberry filling and French buttercream icing for our "personal" cutting cake. We also had a half sheet yellow/chocolate cake with cannoli filling and French buttercream icing for our serving cake (cut behind the scenes). We had 75 guests and we had about 20 servings leftover. -

Delicious and beautiful cake
I knew pretty quickly during our cake tasting that we had to work with SugarBakers. The flavors are lovely and not overly sweet. We chose two flavors for our cake and both were delicious and we got many compliments on them from our guests. The cake itself was beautifully decorated and matched my exact request. They also gave us some to take home which was appreciated as I was too busy dancing to eat in the moment!SugarBakers Cakes's reply:

Is it really a wedding without a SugarBakers cake? Although my husband had to have donuts, we still wanted a small cake to cut. We were looking for just a small round, simple cake and of course, SugarBakers delivered just that! The Amaretto Raspberry has always been my favorite and ultimately what we decided on, but we loved the tasting tray and couldn’t have gone wrong with any of the flavors that they offered. SugarBakers is the best of both worlds- so tasty and wonderfully designed! We had a hard time narrowing down our flavors and icing choices because every flavor was delicious so we decided on a three-tiered cake so we could have a little of everything. I had two design inspirations and they did a fabulous job consulting me on their recommendations and combining elements from both to create a custom cake design! They even took a picture of our wedding crest from our invitation suite and piped it onto the cake for that added touch of personalization. SugarBakers was a delight to work with since our initial email to them inquiring about our wedding cake! Their responses were very prompt and informative. We picked up our wedding cake tasting tray a few months before our wedding and all the flavors were delicious!! It was so hard to choose our favorites. Ultimately, we picked cannoli, dulce de leche and strawberry. We were so happy with our choices and our guests were raving about our cake!! We were so happy we chose SugarBakers!! As a Catonsville native having a Baltimore wedding, Sugarbakers was an obvious choice, but I could NOT be more happy with the cake we received. They were so helpful leading up to the event (even when I wasn’t able to respond to messages) and the cake was phenomenally delicious. We LOVED the red velvet fudge but every flavor and tier was delicious. Definitely worth their local hype and then some!!SugarBakers Cakes's reply:

SugarBakers made our wedding cake and I am not the only one obsessed with it... our guests are still raving about it! We held our reception at Hunt Valley Country Club in September and were informed that the venue and SugarBakers have a partnership so we had the option to order the cake through them. We were thrilled to hear this because we knew that SugarBakers was one of the few bakeries in the DMV that can make a Smith Island flavored cake. The cake itself was so appealing to look at and I still can't get over how delicious it was. We did a three tiered cake with Smith Island flavor on the bottom and top tier, and red velvet in the middle. I highly recommend SugarBakers for your wedding or any event! -

Our caterer coordinated with SugarBakers Cakes to bake us a cutting cake for our May wedding (we didn't work directly with them, but our caterer highly recommended them!). The lemon mousse cake with American buttercream was adorable and more importantly, absolutely delicious. Our only regret was not getting a bigger cake! We’ll just have to find another excuse soon to order another fabulous cake from SugarBakers Cakes! -

Sugarbakers was everything we wanted and more! We did one tasting with them and didn't bother to look anywhere else! The cake is so good it practically melts in your mouth. We got three different flavors, amaretto raspberry, strawberry, and red velvet. I personally am not a fan of red velvet but can I tell you I was for this bakery, oh my goodness! And the amaretto raspberry was phenomenal, it was by far my favorite out of any of the other flavors. When we had our meeting with Khristina we did not really know what we wanted but we had some reference photos, none of which were perfect but we explained that we wanted a mix of all three and they did it 100% past our expectations! The colors were beautiful and the coral and shells drawn on were almost like they were real. Everything turned out beautifully and tasted delicious. Sugarbakers really is amazing and so worth it. -

We absolutely loved our wedding cake! Our cousins also had their wedding cake from Sugarbakers, so we already knew how amazing the cakes were! We opted for a two tier chiffon iced red velvet cake with multiple flavors of cupcakes. There were NO leftovers and everyone raved about them! The process with working with Khrissy, the Bridal Manager was seamless. She was so kind, helpful and attentive to what we wanted for our big day and made suggestions to help align with our vision. All my friends who have gotten married recommended Sugar Bakers and they did not disappoint! We picked three flavors and I am still dreaming about the almond vanilla with a raspberry compote cake. All my guests loved the cake and many said they normally don't eat wedding cake but it was sooooo delicious! I can hardly wait for our one year anniversary to get this cake again! To be honest-I may have to go get myself a cake before next April! -

SugarBakers did a fabulous job with our wedding cake. They created exactly what I was looking for. Our wedding planning was during COVID, but we were able to do pick up the samples ahead of time and do the cake tasting via video. Their cakes are so delicious! -

When we signed our contract with our venue, they had an agreement with Sugar Bakers to provide the cake for the wedding. I worked with Khristina throughout the whole process (over 2 years thanks to COVID) and they were so accommodating and just plain amazing. I mailed a paint swatch for the cake color and the gradient turned out beautifully. Most importantly, the cake was DELICIOUS. Even before our tasting we knew we wanted the peach melba (with raspberry filling) and it was a hit. Three months out from our wedding and we still have family talking about it! Our wedding reception was small enough that we got to take home the entire top layer and we enjoyed it every day during our honeymoon week! You will not be disappointed and they are well worth a visit for a cake for any occasion. -

We first found out about SugarBakers when we went to an open house at Gramercy Mansion and they had sample cake slices there. OMG. I instantly fell in love and told my now husband that we had to do a tasting with them. I’m a huge sweets person so I was so excited for the cake tasting. When we got there we sat down with our consultant and she went over all the different flavors as we tried them. Wow. I’m not a big carrot cake fan but even the carrot cake was so amazing. It was honestly the hardest thing to narrow down which flavors we wanted but ultimately we went with dulche de leche and cannoli cream since we decided on a two tier cake. We also added mini cupcakes, mini cannolis, and mini eclairs. Our guests at our wedding loved having the options of which desserts to pick and everyone raved about how amazing everything was. Plus Khrissy the bridal manager was so wonderful to work with. She answered all my questions and sent us the sketch of our wedding cake. I highly recommend SugarBakers for all your dessert needs! -

SugarBakers was one of the first vendors we hired. We had heard so many good things about them and were looking forward to our tasting. We tried about 14 flavours and only managed to narrow it down to two, chocolate and tres leches.
The staff were very pleasant and willing to work with us during the tasting, and all our future requests (downgrading the guest count and adding lemon tarts) were accommodated easily. -

What’s not to love!?
The hardest thing about working with Sugar Bakers is narrowing down the cake flavors. There are so many and they are all sooooo good. We went with two different flavors for a baked cake with gold flakes and a variety of mini cupcakes because we couldn’t just pick one. We also rented a large wood stump cake display for them. They also made mini lemon bars, eclairs, and cannolis. They were more than accommodating and so pleasant to work with. The best part is that for your one year anniversary they make you a fresh top layer of cake so you don’t have to freeze it! I love them!! -

My husband and I searched for a while to find the perfect cake for our wedding. We had concerns (given all the drama in the news about gay weddings) to find a vendor that would be LGBT welcoming. This was never a problem at SugarBakers. Terry was welcoming from the beginning and worked with us to make a wonderful cake for our wedding.
We did the initial cake tasting on a rainy afternoon (several months prior) and Terry walked us through various icings as well as cake flavors/textures. We worked with her to hone our ideas (using our pinterest board – which is SO helpful for wedding planning) into the cake for our big day. Ironically after some more wedding planning, we ended up modifying almost everying from the first day plans. We eventually changed the cake flavor, the icing style (making a different texture on each tier), and added a top tier. Terry took it in stride and was amazingly flexible. It was so great of her to be so helpful.
The cake arrived in time for the wedding with no issues (even with crazy DC traffic). We debated and finally decided against a topper and worked with the florist to have flowers cascading down the tiers. The cake was just dripping in birds of paradise and was just beautiful. I almost didn’t want to cut it! And the taste was just amazing. I hope that the topper we saved for the 1 year anniversary will be as wonderful as the cake was on the day of our wedding.
It was a huge success and we were very pleased with Terry and her staff at SugarBakers. I would highly recommend SugarBakers to our LGBT friends and family looking for a wedding cake.

Sugarbakers was amazing! I was especially happy with how accomodating they were to my gluten allergy. Even in the tasting - they gave my husband normal cake and gave me gluten free samples to try! The cake was amazing and they made really great suggestions that helped our dessert table look great - we ended up doing a smaller cake and more side desserts - mouse cups and cannolis, etc. Delivered on time and no issues. Not only do I love their cakes as is, but they my wedding cake was one the guests are still talking about. Each layer was a different flavor and was delivered to southern Maryland without a single flaw! The tasting appointment was amazing, and the consultant answered all of our questions. They were ready to see my vision for the cake and run with it. I gave them a picture of what I wanted, and it was exactly down to the detail what we wanted and expected. Usually at weddings guests have one piece of cake, my guest went back up for seconds and thirds which was great! Absolutely loved working with Sugar Bakers for my wedding cake. It turned out so beautifully, and the Raspberry Amaretto was to die for. I saved some $$ and got a smaller 3 tiered cake and an additional sheet cake of a second flavor, Smith Island Cake's Peanut Butter Fudge Cups Cake. I work in the wedding industry, and never considered another baker for my wedding cake. They were so easy to work with and exceeded my expectations! You will not regret getting your cake from them!! -

Sugar Bakers made our wedding cake and grooms cake for our wedding on 9/7/19 in Harford County. I am so pleased with them and we had no cake left over because people went for seconds and thirds!! I thought we would have to spend an arm and a leg, but Sugar Bakers is so resonably priced! They told us not to freeze our top tier because they will provide us with a top tier at our 1 year anniversary for free! All cake toppers were from Etsy, but I told Sugar Bakers my vision and my husbands and they did not disappoint! Everyone at the shop was extremely helpful and the cake tasting was wonderful! The cakes were delivered perfectly and I only had to put the topper on. I cannot recommend them enough!!! (photos are from an iphone, sorry! Choosing a cake flavor was one of the hardest things we had to do. Everything Sugar Bakers had to offer was INCREDIBLE! We ended up ordering the red velvet cake with cream cheese icing. There was a miscommunication with our wedding coordinator (not Sugar Bakers!) and we ended up with red velvet with buttercream frosting. It was still to die for! We wanted a simple cake with a ribbon accent that we provided. It was perfect! We can't wait for our anniversary cake - included in our package! - one year from now!

I used Sugar Baker's recently for my wedding. My husband and I were very pleased with their service and professionalism. When we couldn't decide on cake flavors we were able to customize our cake to the way we wanted. Also our cake was not a cake that they had in their picture book so we explained our vision and they made it happen. We received so many compliments from our guest about how delicious the cake was. SugarBakers was contracted to do our cake via our caterer, Rouge. We decided on red velvet for our 4th and top tier (to save), a tier of the cannoli flavor and a tier of the smith island flavor. Everyone raved about all the flavors and the moistness, high quality of the cake. The cake was so beautiful that we didn’t need a topper, flowers, or any other adornments and we ended up not using any!
Unfortunately I (the bride) was very ill on wedding day and didn’t get to eat much cake. But even going on 2 weeks thereafter I am loving the leftovers! The cake is still quality and tastes great!SugarBakers Cakes's reply:

Sugar Bakers is SO DELICIOUS! Honestly that is all you need to know but they are also gorgeous! We fell in love with their raspberry amaretto at our first wedding show and I knew I had to have them make our wedding cake. However, I am from Pittsburgh, so my family demands a cookie table. I also worked as a wedding server, so I have seen the amount of wedding cake that gets thrown out at the end of the night. So my brilliant idea was to have a dessert table, and sugar bakers does not offer dessert displays. Except they did. I cannot express the gratitude and joy having them work to make my ridiculous vision a reality even though it wasn’t a service they offered. Krissy was absolutely amazing and made sure that we had everything we wanted. We had a plethora of cake, cupcakes, bars, cookies, cannoli, tarts, you name it. And in the end it was everything I could have dreamed up and we received SO MANY compliments on it. We will definitely be getting a lot of future desserts from Sugar Bakers!
*I want to PS this that since they do not do dessert bars we had to coordinate and collect all our own serve ware and display items, which was a pain. Definitely worth it, but a pain, so it is not for the casual bride or I would recommend a wedding planner who can set it up for you.*

Our cake was everything we have ever dreamt of. The flavor was beyond this world and their responsiveness was amazing. They listened to exactly what we had in mind and worked their magic. We have gotten two birthday cakes and several other cakes for different occasions from them and their quality and flavors is just amazing. -

We loved working with SugarBakers for our wedding cake. We were able to get 4 different flavors without additional costs. The only thing that may have gotten mixed up was the arrival time of the cake the day of but it was there right when I went down the aisle so no harm. Working with them was easy and a charm. My husband and I can't wait to order our anniversary cake next year.SugarBakers Cakes's reply:

Excellent cake and mini desserts!
We had a great experience working with Sugar Bakers! Our neighbors recommended them to us first, and later we saw they were listed as a preferred vendor for our venue. We ordered a 3-tier wedding cake (dulce de leche and peach melba with french buttercream frosting, designed with horizontal texturing and piped beaded borders on each tier), and we ordered a variety of mini desserts (7 types; enough for about 2 minis per guest). Everything was delicious! We attended two tastings - one for the cake and the second for the desserts, as we decided to do mini desserts later on. We loved tasting the flavor options for the cake, and they were very accommodating to food allergies. We also felt they offered a large selection of desserts, which was helpful for us in choosing a variety of things that guests would enjoy. Our consultant was Khrissy, and she worked with us primarily throughout our planning process. We had contact with a few other staff members when we emailed with questions, and everyone was kind, helpful, and professional. We even completely changed our cake design from the initial design, and that was a smooth process. The cake arrived at the expected delivery time and it looked exactly the way we discussed. It was helpful for us to initially look at their portfolio of designs and then talk with Khrissy about things we liked/disliked. The cake photographed well too :-)SugarBakers Cakes's reply:
