Highly recommend

Beth was exceptionally kind, patient, and accommodating, offering valuable setup advice and support throughout the planning process. The day-of staff were professional and proactive, with standout service from Megan the bartender and the attentive servers. The food was also excellent and well-received by guests. Overall, the team was efficient, helpful, and made a strong positive impression.

Amazing Food!

Straight to the Plate was amazing! The food was absolutely delicious and surpassed our expectations. We had multiple guests comment that it was the best wedding food they have ever had. They also made a point to ensure that we actually ate, without them literally handing me appetizers and grabbing me for food, I probably would not have.

Beyond just the food, I would recommend Straight to the Plate to ANYONE for their professionalism as a company. I truly feel that they went above and beyond for me leading up to the wedding and day of, Beth even bustled my dress :) They were incredibly responsive for all questions / concerns leading up, most of the time within an hour. Additionally, we were planning during a new COVID spike so they were knowledgable about protocol and accommodating about any restrictions / requests that we or the venue had.

Having a vendor at your wedding that you know is not only going to serve amazing food but also be there to jump in whenever needed, follow the timeline, accommodate any sort of request is invaluable.

You will not go wrong if you hire them :)

Great food!

The food was absolutely amazing! It felt more upscale than normal 'wedding food'! Our guests even made comments to us about how good the dinner was. Sue & the entire staff were very professional & responsive. We couldn't ask for a better company to work with on our wedding day! We had asked that they save a hors d'oeuvres for us & not only did they do that, they delivered them out to us during our sunset pictures!!!

Good food and service

Straight to the Plate was great! The food was excellent - my family was talking about the pork for about a week afterwards. They were also very flexible with dietary restrictions and made me my own vegan plate!

Detail Oriented and Great Quality

Sue and her team were so lovely. We worked with them as out-of-staters and they made everything so easy. From coordinating a fabulous tasting, to prepping a late-night snack (poutine) that was just like the real Canadian thing - and also a first for them, to making everything taste so amazing and look so easy at the wedding itself. All of this was during a pandemic no less. Straight to the Plate had every precaution in place to keep us and our guests safe during the entire thing. We'd highly recommend!

Great Flexibility, Excellent Food!

Because of Covid we had to reschedule the wedding and completely change the menu for a different time of year and different venue, and Sue at Straight to the Plate was extremely flexible and helpful! Delicious food and great service. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Wish we could eat their food everyday!

We loved working with Straight to the Plate! Their attention to detail and friendliness was amazing. The food was sooo good too! We always say we wish we could go their tacos regularly. We definitely recommend them!

5 stars for straight to the plate!

Sue and her crew are amazing! We had a post-wedding celebration in our backyard last weekend. Entertaining with all of the new guidelines is a little daunting, but Straight to the Plate didn’t miss a beat. We came up with an idea of stretching out the party over a longer period of time with smaller groups assigned to specific time slots. Sue and her chef were super flexible and figured out how to serve the food so it was delicious, hot, fresh and creatively presented. The servers were delightful. We highly recommend Straight to the Plate!

Wonderful!

Debra Mizrahi, Director, was my point of contact and she was absolutely wonderful and accommodating to the needs of my wedding. It was a small wedding and we didn’t need a whole lot, but beautifully passed hors d'oeuvres. I had specific requests of what I desired, not only for myself but for my guests and most of all my fiancé, and she made it happened! Thank you Debra and everyone at Straight to the Plate!

Everything Was Spectacular

Top First Class Service

Straight to Plate was ABSOLUTELY amazing to work with. My wife and I used them to cater our dessert stations (donut/cannoli station) for our Wrigley Mansion Wedding. Best in the business!

My fiance and I stopped in to do our tasting with Sue and the team last week - and we were blown away! Sue asked all the right questions about our wedding - she was thinking about everything down to the colors, theme, dietary restrictions, you name it! The food was also delicious. They were super professional, and served amazing tasting dishes, as well as answered every one of our million questions. Amazing - so glad we hired Straight to the Plate!

Sue and her team were an incredible asset to my wedding. They patiently communicated with both my mother and I, who are quite Type A and probably not the easiest customers! They were friendly and sweet with us throughout the entire process leading up to our big night. They were also incredibly receptive to our ideas and vision for food.

On the night of our wedding, the food was delicious and everyone raved about how good it was (especially the gyros!) One guest made the joke that it was the first wedding they did NOT leave feeling hungry. Before the STTP team left, one of the amazing workers approached me to thank me for letting them be apart of our day. I was humbled; they had done so much to make our wedding special. Both my mom and I (the primary planners of the wedding) were so happy with how things are turned out. I will recommend these caterers to anyone who asks.

Phenomenal food and service

Straight To The Plate traveled to Albuquerque NM to cater our daughters wedding that was held on December 1, 2018 at The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History and the food and service was phenomenal. We had experienced their food at a previous event in Arizona so when it was time to find a caterer for our daughters wedding they were the first we contacted. Traveling such a distance wasn’t normal for them however we worked things out so their delicious food was center stage at the reception. From delicious hot crab cakes, spicy buffalo dip to their tender flank steak, creamy chicken piccata and to die for 5 cheese Mac and cheese they went above and beyond what we had hoped for. Guests were able to enjoy as much food as they could hold because nothing was scrimped on by Straight To The Plate. Plus they also provided all the beautiful tableware for the reception which was one less thing we had to worry about. Guests complimented us on the food and service wanting our cateres information plus many hoped to learn the recipes for the 5 cheese Mac and cheese and their glazed bacon appetizers. My daughter and her new husband were thrilled with Straight To The Plate and couldn’t thank them enough for making their first family dinner such a huge success!!!

Sue and her team were absolutely amazing! All of our wedding guests raved about the food and the beauty of the place settings. Their menu is so unique and everything they prepare is absolutely delicious. The tastings were really nice because Sue sat down with us and got to know my fiance and I and was interested in all of the details of our wedding. She really worked hard to make it a perfect day for us. The Jalapeno infused lemonade was such a huge hit and perfect for our desert setting! Straight to the Plate was so fun to work with and very accommodating to all of my requests for our wedding day. The floral ice cubes they made for my signature drink were absolutely stunning! I am so thankful to the entire team for every detail they focused on to make it such a special day!

The service, the food, the attention to detail was top notch! From my first conversation with Sue, I knew there was no contacting any other caterer. The southwest menu she created with chef Tony, was outstanding! Our guests are raving about our cocktail hour which included prepared on site, in front of you guacamole, quesadillas, passed shrimp and mango spoons, and empanadas with avocado crema. If you want the best food and service, contact Sue! Our meals were outstanding and everyone commented us on how delicious it all tasted. Thank you Sue and straight to the plate.

We were extremely impressed with this vendor. We had our wedding at the Paseo and Straight to the Plate was the catering vendor included in our "all inclusive" package. They accommodated our unique request to have an all vegetarian wedding. They came up with an interesting and tasty vegetarian menu to satisfy ALL of our wedding guests. It was the best food I have ever had at a wedding!! They went above an beyond to make the buffet table beautiful, incorporating decorative items that went well with the bohemian theme of our wedding. Sue was a dream to work with and worked very well with our personal wedding planner. Being an out of town bride always has its challenges, but not when working with Straight to the Plate! I would recommend them to anyone with catering needs in the Phoenix area!

I was SO nervous to use a caterer and straight to the plate blew my expectations out of the water! Everything they served was hot and fresh, even with a buffet for almost 200 guests. We had steak, salmon, and cheese tortellini and my guests were RAVING about the food all weekend. Their staff was attentive and accommodating to anything my husband and I asked for.

Sue and her team were AMAZING! We had our wedding at The Paseo and this was our contracted caterer. There were so many food options to choose from that every palette would enjoy. They lay everything out and make it simple to make your choices. There is also a tasting so you are able to try the food before selecting it for your big day. The food was so great! Sue and her team are seriously the best! Along every step leading up to our wedding they made sure every aspect was planned and on the day of our wedding our servers were amazing! I was so happy to actually be able to sit and eat while our guests were taken care of. Weeks later I am still hearing how good the food was and how people enjoyed it so much. We used Straight to the Plate for our wedding as they are a preferred venue at The Paseo. Sue and her staff are really awesome! They were very professional and the food was great! We did a BBQ buffet style. They have so many options to chose from on their menu and will work with any budget. They are very easy to communicate with. Straight to the Plate Catering was absolutely amazing for our wedding! My husband and I were traveling from out of town but we were still able to get a tasting the week before the wedding to make sure we liked everything on the menu. Every time I e-mailed I got a response within just a few hours. The staff is so welcoming and accommodating, they also had vegan and vegetarian options for a few friends and family. They went above and beyond to make our day so wonderful and the food tasted GREAT!

Everything about Straight to the Plate was amazing! During all of the chaos of planning our wedding, they were always responsive and helpful - definitely the easiest of all of our vendors to coordinate with. They made sure we knew exactly what to expect before we signed a contract, and delivered on every promise they made. Out of all the caterers we looked at, they were by far the most honest and trustworthy.

And, most importantly, the food was incredible! Everything at the reception was just as delicious as it was during the tasting. The spinach and artichoke dip and poblano chicken huge hits! The next time I host a large event, the catering will definitely be an easy choice.

Sue & her team were amazing! After losing our previous caterer to his lack of professionalism, Sue & her team pulled together and made our September wedding day meal what we wanted & more. Words cannot express how pleased I was for the services that "Straight to the Plate Catering" offered for my wedding. I utilized "Straight to the Plate Catering" for catering services. Brett and Sue are true culinary professionals from start to finish. Their knowledge and attention to detail were insurmountable. I work in the event industry and have very high standards and I knew I was in good hands with "Straight to the Plate Catering". I was very impressed with how Brett and Sue took charge and went over and above to make our special day memorable, I was extremely impressed with what they brought to the overall culinary experience. Their slow roasted herbed beef roast and their cognac chicken are to die for! After interviewing about five different catering companies, my wife and I had the pleasure of working with Susan on a post-wedding party (about 80 people) back in February. Simply put, it was a delightful experience in every way imaginable. From the moment we first spoke, she gave me a comfort level that carried through to the very end. In addition to her excellent customer service, more importantly, the food quality was fantastic. This is also coming from someone that grew up in NYC, and has been in the hospitality industry for the last 25 years. I had a distinct vision for what I wanted to be served, in addition to a strict budget, and Susan, along with her Straight to the Plate team, were able to make it happen in spades!

I would highly recommend her for any of your catering needs.

Sue and her staff from day one have been very helpful and professional. They don't just cater they create an atmosphere, bringing in props for the buffet table that complimented our decor/theme. I would highly recommend Straight to the Plate for your next event!

Straight to the Plate Catering was a pleasure to work with. They provided delicious food and desserts for a Halloween Party at DC Ranch Village Health Club & Spa., The catering team, was on time, organized, friendly and professional to our staff and party attendee's. A specific Halloween inspired menu was created by Sue to fit the tastes, needs, and budget of this event. Straight to the Plate did an amazing job at our wedding. Sue Carlisle was so very personable and professional! I absolutely knew that I didn't have to worry about anything and she proved me right.

The qualify of the food exceeded our expectations and the guests all said that they enjoyed it. The presentation was well done and the servers that were provided were both professional and very enjoyable, they even did a little dance when serving us our first meal.

Overall I'd have to say that Sraight to the Plate provided very flavorful, high quality food at a very reasonable cost. I have recommended them to my friends and will continue to do so.

Sue was amazing! She helped me plan down to the last detail of my 30th High School Reunion. I have never planned an event this big and didn't know where to start. She guided me through the steps and suggested items and ideas. I really pulled off an amazing party because of Sue and her staff. I also have used her on a few Housewarming parties for my clients too and she has always been professional and the food was delicious ! I am already planning more events and plan on hiring her many more times in 2015.

Sue at Straight to the Plate is amazing! At the time of my wedding, I was on a very strict medical allergy diet in addition to being a vegetarian. Sue was able to accommodate my dietary restrictions and created an amazing cocktail hour and reception dinner that was vegetarian, gluten-free, corn-free and soy free. All of my guests (most of whom are meat eaters) loved the food and were amazed. Straight to the Plate went above and beyond my expectations for a caterer and I can't recommend them enough. In addition, a week before my wedding I had a mini-meltdown about weather and I wasn't sure if my all outdoor venue would work. Sue took time from her busy schedule to talk me through it and even made some calls to other vendors on my behalf. Wish I could give them 10 stars!

Sue and Brett are great. Together with the rest of their team, they do their best to accomodate and come up with a menu that people will eat! We do business with them practically every month or every other month as we have a ton of different events here in the office. If you use them often, they will be very attentive to what people liked in the past and will remember to serve what they liked best on future event. You have GOT to get their BACON!!!! Wow. I was very lucky to have Straight to the Plate caterer my baby shower. As an event planner in Phoenix I could choose from many caterers but I personally love Straight to the Plate's delicious food. When I first met Sue her apricot meatballs were what sold me then I soon tasted her Chicken Salad and to this day still crave it. Months after the baby shower I still have family and friends asking for the chicken salad recipe and I tell them they need to hire Straight to the Plate! If you are looking for a caterer that offers great tasting food and a beautiful presentation you really need to hire Straight to the Plate.

We run a financial services office and have monthly happy hours in which Straight to the Plate caters for us each month. Sue is loved by all of our clients and they are constantly asking her for her recipes. She does a great job from presentation through replenishing through clean up. She makes my job easier. Though I am not ordering high-end items but more of an appetizer-fare, she is fairly priced and the quality is excellent. Her professionalism and follow up throughout the event makes her even more valuable and enjoyable. I would highly recommend her.

Without a doubt, Sue Carlisle and the Straight to the Plate Team is the BEST in the industry. Sue did a customized tasting for us, gave us great ideas for how to bring out a vintage-inspired theme, and went above and beyond to build a custom dessert menu when we decided we wanted to do something different. She was always incredibly fast to respond to our billions of questions and really put some love into all that she brought to our day. She is an all star, and I can't tell you how many guests raved about the food and the specialty desserts.

The flavors were phenomenal and everything was fresh instead of that frozen stuff you get from some caterers. Sue and her crew did a fantastic job for our client’s open house event. Even though everything did not go exactly as planned, Sue was able to adjust quickly with style and grace. She made my job so much easier because I never even had to think about the food or service. And the food wasn’t just stuff from a big box store that was nicely presented. Sue from Straight to the Plate met with Tony & I and really helped us personalize our menu for our wedding. From the appetizers to the main courses, everything was prepared well & tasted great. She added so many personal touches- like a cheese and fruit tray in the bridal suite and the groom's room. She even served both of us at the head table, so we didn't have to go through the buffet line!

We were really pleased with the service we received from Straight to the Plate, and have received a lot of compliments from our guests as well. I would highly recommend checking them out for wedding catering or any other event!

The food was wonderful! Everything tasted so fresh, and the buffet setup looked very nice. Sue was very easy to work with, and accommodated the dietary needs of our guests. Our guests all said it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding.

Sue was great to work with. She listened to what we wanted and was very flexible in creating an elegant plated dinner option that included filet mignon and chicken picatta plus two sides on each plate. So many of my guests thought the filet was cooked to perfection and when they found out there wasn't a kitchen on site and all the food was prepared off site and brought in they were even more impressed. Everyone loved the BLT stuffed tomatoes and chimichurri sauce on the butler passed hors d'oeuvres. I was glad I went with the caprese salad because many guests enjoyed that special touch. My only slightly negative was that many guests commented on the chicken being a bit dry and missing the sauce. The look of the green beans and twice baked potatoes weren't the best looking, but they tasted delicious. Thank you so much for making my steak and potato family happy on my wedding day with great food!

We found Sue through an all inclusive program and LOVED her!! Her food is YUMMY!!, she has great taste in how she presents her food! She will take salad and it will be presented in a gorgeous Vase until time to serve!! She adds to the elegance of your venue right up to the time she clears her food and serving dishes from view! She added Australian translations or slang to the cards advertising the options and it was a big hit with both the Americans and the Australians!! We received so many comments on how wonderful the food was. The appetizers were to die for. The detail to specific detail was very much appreciated. I had numerous comments but one lady who thanked us over and over for the special needs for her diet restrictions. She was flabbergasted at this type of service and at such a large event.

Sue and chef tony are an amazing team! Everything from having our first tasting to our wedding day went off without a hitch. The food was delicious, our guests loved the whole experience!
