From the moment that we first met Greg we knew that he was the man for the job; he was absolutely great to work with! We booked both a DJ and Band; after sitting down with Greg, he assured us that he would contact the band and coordinate all of the details with them, which took some of the stress off of us. Once we gave him an idea of what music we liked, he was able to take care of the rest. Aside from being a great DJ, Greg is also a great guy; we're so happy that we chose him to DJ our special day.

DJ Dave Hodges was phenomenal! Greg was unavailable for our date so he set us up with Dave and he did a fantastic job, we couldn't have been happier! He made sure every detail was covered and that we were getting all the music we wanted and none of the music we didn't. The online planning forms were very convenient and easy to use. We also did a dvd slideshow and it was a big hit. Dave fit the music selection to the crowd and everyone had a great time. I would recommend him to anyone that asked!!! Thanks for a great time

My husband and I had the best time at our wedding due to our DJ Greg Hodges! All of our guests said what a great time they had at our wedding; they all loved the music and were dancing all night. Greg is a fantastic DJ and will play all the music you request; as well as keep the dance floor happy. Greg also has a great personality and is fun to work with. I would highly recommend DJ Greg Hodges from 5 Star Events.

Greg Hodges, at 5 Star Events, is the most talented DJ I have ever come across. My husband and I literally picked our wedding date based upon the availability of 3 components: the venue, the church, and most importantly....DJ GREG HODGES. Greg was the DJ at my sister's wedding, and he did such a fabulous job that we had to have him DJ our wedding. He exceeded all expectations we had for a perfect night of music. He allowed us to work with him and voice our preferences of music styles throughout the night. He also provided the music for our cocktail hour which was a hit- a total mix of laid back favorites every generation can appreciate. He knew when to play oldies but goodies, when to play slow songs, and when to turn it up a notch and play more recent hits...the entire night was orchestrated perfectly. I saw people dance all night long that hate to dance...he was that good!! Greg is also very professional, patient, and a joy to be around. He is by far the most talented DJ I have ever met and I highly recommend him to anyone who wants a fun wedding filled with happy guests and tons of dancing. We have calls and emails every day saying it was the best wedding they have ever attended. So thank you Greg!! ~Missy and Paul

Greg Hodges is an unbelievable DJ. Not only is he extremely professional and easy to work with, but he has an incredible talent for keeping the dance floor alive the entire night. WOW! We are so happy with the DJ services provided by Greg Hodges. My husband and I were given his name by a family friend to look at him as a potential DJ for our wedding. It was the best recommendation we have ever received! Greg played the music at our ceremony and it was flawless. During the reception, he was very professional and everything ran smoothly. Greg did an absolutely fantastic job at our wedding! We were thrilled with the music, as were all of our guests. In addition to providing such terrific music, Greg did a lot of trouble shooting throughout our day, including providing equipment for our ceremony that we had forgotten to ask him about! He did a great job of working with our caterer to keep things moving smoothly for the entire day.
During our planning stages, I found Greg's planning software to be incredibly helpful and easy to use. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great DJ!

Greg Hodges is a great DJ and clearly loves his job. Greg has the best equipment (not bulky), has back up units (that he brings to the venue), incredibly organized (provided us with a binder with questions, ideas and suggestions before we even had made our final choice) and is very accomodating. He is great, I would use him again and highly recommend his services.

This guy is amazing! THE BEST! The 2 things people remember at a wedding are the food and the music. 5 Star Events ensures that it will be an awesome event. Greg has a very technolocically advanced sound system, the knowledge of music, and the recognition of crowd, to keep the party going strong throughout the event. He gives you the means to select any music and to green light or red light any favorites or must not plays, all from the comfort of your home computer.

Greg is an absolutely amazing DJ. We knew right away that we wanted to use him for our wedding. So much so that we changed our date to make sure he was available. He has great suggestions for music for everything from the ceremony to the last dance. His website has online planning tools that make it so easy to pick out music. Everyone has commented that the music at the reception was amazing and everyone danced all night long.

5 Star Events was phenomenal. The owner & DJ, Greg Hodges, was the best DJ we have ever experienced. My husband and I wanted a no-fuss but extremely fun reception. Greg helped us deliver that. Every single person I have spoken to, has told us that we had the most fun wedding ever. Greg spent as much time with we wanted, planning our big day. With just one meeting, we were able to plan out the entire reception timeline and Greg gave us great advice every time. His online planing tools enabled us to document our reception timeline (everything from when the 1st dance would be held to when the entrees should be served) as well as tools to request the songs that we wanted played. As we wanted everything from Weird Al Yankovich's "Yoda" for my 7 year old nephew to specific songs from the 80's, 90's and current for our friends and of course Frank Sinatra for the older crowd---we wanted quite a wide variety of songs. Not only did Greg have all of the songs, but the way he sequenced them was genius. He literally kept the dance floor full the entire time.
I can't say enough about Greg. I also went to another wedding where Greg DJ'd, and the couple wasn't as particular about the music as my husband and I were. The end result was the same---the dance floor was full the entire time. So whether you want to be very involved in the music selection as my husband and I were or want to be hands off--the end result is the same....the dance floor is full. And it feels effortless, but I know it is not. Greg knows his music and he knows how to keep the energy going.
One last thing. Greg is pretty low key. He does a great job announcing what you want him to announce (the entrance, the cake cutting, etc) but he isn't out there clowning around. We didn't want that. He is 100% focused on keeping the party going, which is exactly what we did want. The music spoke for itself and didn't need anything extra.
By the way, Greg's equipment was phenomenal---the sound and lights were crystal clear and if you want powerhouse bass, Greg can deliver that too!
Hiring 5 Star Events DJ was the best decision we made for the entire wedding. We highly recommend him!

Greg was amazing. His system was so easy to use and to request songs and he was so flexible the day of with extra requests that our family and friends had. He made sure to ask me first as not to disrupt anything and I so appreciated it. He was in the background but the dance floor was packed from dinner until the end. Noone wanted hte night to end and we have had so many comments on how fun our wedding was...I can only attribute that to greg and the vibe he set. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making our wedding so great and memorable. I only wish we threw parties like this every year. It is so amazing to me that greg djed my sister's wedding 10 years ago and it was equally as great!!

Greg was the perfect DJ for our wedding and we recommend him without reservation. Not only was he very professional (honest, straight-forward) and easy to work with, the system he has for choosing songs is ideal: very comprehensive, quick and easy. We wanted our DJ to play different, more modern, new and alternative music to the traditional songs heard at every wedding. Greg exceeded our expectations. We live in New York City and did everything for the music remotely. It went off without a hitch and there were no surprises. For all of these reasons, we highly recommend Greg Hodges of 5 Star Events.
