Best cake ever!
We wanted non traditional cake flavors, lemon blueberry and Pina colada. She did a tasting for us with 5 different flavors and different icing options and her cake was SO flavorful, moist, great texture, icing on point, and her decorations were well done. She had multiple options and all very affordable. Best cake with phenomenal value. We tried a few different cake shops and she exceeded the others by a long shot! Very nice and down to earth.

Perfect Wedding Cake
Working with Jill was a pleasure and she helped us put together a wonderful wedding cake. We started planning our wedding only 10 weeks prior which happened to be on October 5th (in between two hurricanes) at the Hyatt regency Clearwater Beach Resort. We were so lucky to be able to have had our wedding happen and Cakes by Carolynn came through with an amazing wedding cake!

Great Cake
Our wedding looked just how I asked. The cake was delicious, but a little bit dry. The email responses were prompt. She was kind and sweet. When she wasn't sure of something, she asked me. I wasn't sure what to have my cake look like aside from cookie cake and a "naked" look so I had them decorate as needed. They decided to go with some red roses which were very pretty!

We where directed to Cakes by Carolynn by our amazing wedding coordinator with Driftwood and they did not disappoint! We ended up ordering cupcakes to match our wedding cake on several occasions prior to our wedding as we where that impressed with it. Personally I am not a big sweets/ cake fan but boy did the raspberry amaretto combo have me going back for a second piece every time. They even accommodated our special request on the icing and a last minute change with no issues. Delivery was as anticipated and the wedding cake looked beautiful on display. Will most definitely be returning whenever in the area for some cupcakes and would 10/10 recommend to anyone.

What a beautiful cake!
I live in Atlanta and hired Carolyn based on her reviews and pictures of her cakes. I wasn't able to do a tasting. I sent her a picture of a cake I found online and she nailed it! The cake tasted amazing as well. If you are on the fence as to who you want to hire definitely choose Carolyn.

Tasty cakes
Our wedding cake was the talk of the reception we did blueberry cake with chocolate Bavarian cream. So mouth watering. The ladies in the store are so nice to talk to and LGBTQ+ friendly. Could not ask for a better experience.

We had a great experience at cakes by Caroline. We first had a tasting where they prepared cake and filling for us to try. We actually had a cake topper that we wanted to use and they took that off our hands and showed us many different cake designs. They were able to combine a couple of them to get what we wanted and it turned out exactly as we pictured and it tasted good.

Beautiful cake!
Cakes by Carolynn was recommended by our venue. The staff was very responsive to every email I sent and our phone conversation helped pull everything together. They were able to create the exact cake I had in my mind for my destination wedding. It was beautiful! The cake tasted very good and we were very happy. The only comment I would make would be to add some allergy friendly options as we had to purchase a different dessert from a different vendor to accommodate a guest with a severe dairy allergy.

Dream wedding cake come to life!!!
From the tasting with Bonnie to the cake on the day of, the cake was DELICIOUS and GORGEOUS!! We had a chocolate cake with chocolate chips and chocolate ganache, but was white and beach themed with incredible details on the outside. Couldn’t recommend them more!!

We selected A Special Touch - Cakes by Carolyn for our wedding. We had looked at some other bakeries, but none quite got us as excited as Carolyn did! The cake selections are phenomenal. Every one we tasted was more amazing than the one before it! We ended up picking 3 different flavors for our cake because we just couldn't decide! The pricing is quite fair. The different styles to choose from is vast. You will NOT be disappointed, that I can guarantee!! We can't wait till our next event so we can come for another cake....in the mean time, we will keep coming for cupcakes!

Beach wedding cupcake tower
We planned a destination wedding and had one weekend in town to pretty much plan everything- cakes by carolynn was recommended by our resort, and they were super accommodating with a last minute tasting appointment. I had a vague idea of what I wanted with a cupcake tower, and the woman working with us quickly showed some pictures that met my vision and put together a general quote. It turned out way better than we ever could have imagined, and all our guests loved it! We did chocolate cupcakes and amaretto raspberry cupcakes.

Everyone loved it!
I was very impressed with this cake. It was everything I hoped it’d be. Everyone was raving about the cake all night and the day after. I am so glad there was no fondant and it was all a very buttercream frosting and even the decor was chocolate. The cake itself was also very moist and delicious. If I lived in Florida, I’d recommend this to anyone who wanted a cake for a birthday, wedding, or any other event.

When we first met with A Special Touch - Cakes by Carolynn, they had so many flavors and fillings to choose from for our cake, we were extremely impressed and excited to try everything. We picked their signature cake for our bottom and top layer and their key lime for our middle layer and our guests could not get enough of the cake!! Our vendor had to save my groom and I two (2) pieces or we wouldn't have had any! Also, the cake itself was absolutely beautiful. They took my vision and made it better. We were so impressed and pleased! I highly recommend them!!

Cakes by Carolynn did an amazing job on our wedding cake!!! We chose white amaretto with raspberry and buttercream filling. Everyone was commenting about it the rest of the night! When we went for our tasting they were very friendly and made suggestions based on what we were looking for. They customized our cake with a pearlized airbrush finish which gave it a beautiful and elegant look against the lighting in our ballroom. We would highly recommend Cakes by Carolynn!

This is a great company! We had our wedding cake made and the whole process was incredibly easy, especially with planning an out of state wedding. We could not have been happier with our wedding cake! My mom and I went for a tasting and were very pleased with the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. We provided a picture of the design we wanted and Cakes by Carolynn matched it exactly! Our cake turned out even better than the picture we sent in, plus it tasted great. We received many compliments and my grandmother told me it was the best wedding cake she had ever eaten. Would absolutely go back and recommend to every local bride.

The cake was delicious! Taste testing was by far the best part of wedding planning and all of the cakes here were amazing! Love how everything turned out and so happy they were able to work with our rescheduling due to Hurricane Irma.

Everybody that we worked with was great! We had more guests than expected and Bonnie was so accommodating on last minute changes. We tasted the cake options a year before we got married and they were just as great as I remembered them!
We had a destination wedding and the whole team made the process easy and stress free. She replicated the picture I sent her perfectly and matched the color exactly with our color scheme!

Seriously the best cake I have ever tasted. First of all, my cake was literally just what I asked for. I sent a picture design over and they replicated it perfectly with my wedding color. I was nervous at my wedding and wasn't very hungry, but I ate my piece of cake within three bites! I can't wait to eat the topper next year!

I am so glad I decided to use them instead of simply using Publix for my destination wedding a few weeks ago. I went for a tasting and everyone was very helpful. I was in the process of making my selections when the hurricane hit the surrounding area but once everything was over Bonnie reached out to me via email for a few days until they had phone service. She is a pleasure to work with! Extremely helpful! The cake was so delicious and we got so many comments about how good it was. We chose the vanilla and it was great!

Cakes by Carolynn did a beautiful job on our wedding cake. We were planning our wedding in St. Pete as a destination wedding from NJ and had scheduled a consult/tasting a year prior to our wedding. The staff were friendly, samples delicious, and we left knowing exactly what we wanted with a comfort that that was one thing checked off our list well in advance of the wedding. A month or so prior to the wedding, I contacted them to make sure we were all set and they read back our entire order to confirm. On the day of the wedding, our cake was delivered to the resort WELL ahead of time and it was exactly what we asked for and wanted, not to mention that it tasted FANTASTIC.

The staff was so kind and helpful and our cake was gorgeous! It exceeded my expectations. They even made my husband a groom's cake shaped like a sea turtle which turned out perfect as well. We had one key lime and one strawberry for Florida produce and both were delicious.

I do not live in the area, so I was extremely nervous ordering my wedding cake without tasting, seeing, meeting, etc. The service was beyond wonderful. All of my questions were answered without hesitation. I simply sent a couple of pictures I found online of the cake I wanted and it turned out better than I could have imagined. Not to mention, we were married on the beach and weather was Not on our side that day. A storm hit and Dee stayed until after the storm passed (probably about 20-30 minutes) to ensure the cake could be set up properly.

We used Cakes by Carolynn for our wedding cake. They were 1 of 4 vendors that were included as part of our venue's package. We did a tasting with each vendor, and the cake here was by far the best. They were so nice during our tasting and worked with us to choose which cake and filling combinations we liked the best, even bringing out options we hadn't thought of. The cake that was delivered was exactly what we asked for, and tasted amazing. The cake was moist and fresh, and the fillings were so good. We picked the raspberry amaretto swirl with bavarian cream and raspberry fillings for our biggest layer and our guests raved over it. We'll definitely be ordering more cakes from this bakery in the future, for every special occasion we can think of!!

First off, words will not do these cakes justice. Cakes By Carolynn, bar none, the best cake, we have ever had at any wedding. Guests of the wedding are still raving about the cake. Not a slice was left in the building. Raspberry amaretto swirl cake, will drop you to your knees.
Just as important, the customer service was top notch. Bonnie, made things so easy- the professionalism and the confidence they displayed made all the difference in the world. Our wedding cake looked exactly the way we envisioned and asked for!

Great communication, mostly through emails since my husband and I both work night shift. I emailed her pictures of different ideas that I wanted to incorporate into one cake, and she pulled it all together even better than I had imagined it! The DJ at our wedding said she had been doing weddings for 5 years and thought our cake was the best she'd ever seen! I think there may have been more pictures of the cake posted on Facebook that day than of us! Lol! The design turned out amazing, but the taste was out of this world! I highly recommend butter flavored cake with Bavarian cream filling! She was even able to accommodate a severe nut allergy for my nephew. My sister was so grateful he was able to eat some of the cake at our wedding! Highly recommend!

I had an amazing experience with Cakes By Carolynn! Bonnie is a absolute pleasure to work with. We emailed for a few weeks discussing the style of cake I was looking for and ways to cut costs since I had a strict budget. I sent various pictures and styles and she completely understood my vision. I had a consultation with Bonnie and she made us feel right at home. She was professional, gave us her expert opinion, and I could tell she truly cared. I did a great deal of research on Tampa Bay Area Bakeries and spoke to A LOT of bakers. I decided to reach out to a St Pete baker because her work really stood out to me. I was not interested in inedible fondant that I kept seeing at other bakeries and her buttercream work was absolutely gorgeous. She was hands down the most genuine and responsive baker out of a dozen I spoke with! As much as we loved all of the fun flavors she had to offer, we chose a classic white cake with fudge filling with buttercream icing. The cakes at this bakery are moist, the fillings are decadent, and the buttercream icing is clean and smooth! The delicate dots on the buttercream iced cakes are the perfect mix of feminine and classic! I cannot wait for my wedding and to see my vision come to life! My wedding cake was just simply amazing! It looked exactly how I wanted it and tasted better than I could have imagined! Cakes by Carolynn was great and so easy to work with. Our wedding cake was included with our venue and they gave us a few places to choose from, one being Cakes By Carolynn. We looked into all of them but they were the only ones that actually responded. We set up a time to go to the cake tasting to try out a few flavors and they were all delicious and so hard to choose which one. My fiance at the time went to the cake tasting with me and is not a huge fan of cake, let alone any sweets and didn't want to try any of them. When they heard this they asked him what his preference usually is and brought out a rum cake sample to try. He LOVED it and we ended up going with a marble for the bottom two layers and a rum cake for the top. One of the best things is they don't use fondant (which to me tastes like clay) but actual real icing.
Next, it was time to pick what the cake would look like and they gave us a book full of ideas. We liked a few parts of different cakes and they were able to combine the different cakes into one. The final cake on our wedding day was gorgeous. We got so many compliments and everyone was so excited to dig in!
I highly recommend Cakes By Carolynn for anyone looking for cakes in the St. Pete area, not only for weddings but any other event. I know I will be sure to stop there to satisfy my sweet tooth next time I am in St. Pete.

I absolutely love Cakes by Carolynn! I've had their cakes a few times now because they are the best. I'm obsessed with the white cake with raspberry filling and raspberry swirl! They were very easy to work with, and responsive to emails and phone calls. I was indecisive on whether or not I wanted to order a grooms cake as a surprise, and they gave me details and prices whenever I requested them, and they were able to create a great one, German chocolate in the shape of a guitar! They executed my vision to perfection. They let me incorporate some of my own things (chocolate shells I purchased, etc.) onto the take. I recently got married at the Grand Plaza Beachfront Resort on St. Pete Beach, FL and Bonnie Schaefer, at Cakes by Carolynn, was the cake company we had the privilege of working with for our wedding. Bonnie was nothing short of outstanding -- she was very professional and prompt to reply during the planning phase. We decided to have two cakes--a pretty standard, 3-tier wedding cake and also a custom groom's cake. For the groom's cake, I provided a picture that my husband's grandfather had drawn of two state outlines -- Vermont and Louisiana, since that's where my husband and I are from. Bonnie called me to determine all of the colors we would use on the cake and it came out perfectly! We also got some chocolate covered strawberries with the groom's cake which went fast! The groom's cake was a surprise to my husband and he absolutely loved it! The cakes were both the perfect size and they tasted amazing. Doing cake tasting before ordering was definitely worth it! We chose the butter rum flavor for the wedding cake and the white amaretto for the groom's cake, both with the barvarian cream filling which was simple and light, but to die for! Cakes by Carolynn also has a fabulous relationship with the Grand Plaza which was extremely convenient for the flow of everything on the wedding day -- the cakes were both dropped off to our reception ballroom before it began, looking flawless, which made much less communication confusion! Cakes by Carolynn is definitely worth their price tag. Thank you to Bonnie for making our special day so beautiful and delicious!

We had a design I found on Pinterest used for my wedding cake with Cakes by Carolynn. I went in for a tasting and all of the options for cake were awesome; it was hard choosing one! We had a butter flavored cake with raspberry swirl, with raspberry bavarian filling, and buttercream frosting. It was delicious! The cake looked fabulous too. They used the cake topper I provided and it was delivered to our venue on time. They also got back to me very quickly with any e-mail questions or cake design questions. Highly recommend!

Outstanding! We were recommended to use the vendor through Grand Plaza Resort and the cake did not disappoint. Not only was our marble and raspberry filled cake delicious, it was also beautiful. Our guests loved it. This vendor is wonderful to work with and we got exactly what we wanted.

So I just wanted to take a (long overdue) second and say THANK YOU. You guys made the most beautiful and best tasting wedding cake I could have asked for. It was so tasty and we had so many compliments, and NO LEFTOVERS! The flamingo toppers that you placed looked fantastic, and it was just really awesome. Second, holy moly, the Grateful Dead dancing bear grooms cake was AWESOME and was an absolute hit! It was perfect, and although maybe an odd request, my fiance absolutely was surprised and loved it. It was perfectly done and sitting beside the wedding cake I feel like it really captured both my fiance and my personalities (kind of weird cake analogy there, I know). Great price and definitely will recommend.

Our wedding cake was perfect!! We chose the amaretto raspberry swirl cake with bavarian cream filling and it was absolutely delicious!! I wanted a naked cake and had brought a few pictures to our tasting and they made a beautiful cake exactly how I wanted. We got several compliments from our guests on how tasty the cake was and I honestly believe that it was the best wedding cake that I've ever had! Very reasonably priced and easy to work with. I couldn't be happier with how our cake turned out and I highly recommend them!!

My cake was not only perfect but it was delicious. I can honestly say it was the best wedding cake I've ever eaten! My grooms cake was also out of this world! They were easy to work with and very personable!

Loved my wedding cake!! They did an AMAZING job, and it was delicious! They have great flavors to choose from, proving that all wedding cakes do not taste the same! They did exactly the design I wanted and it was perfect!

My husband and I were blown away by how amazing the cake was. We placed our order over the phone since we are from out of state and they were very helpful and accommodating. This was by far the most delicious cake I have ever eaten. Even my husband who is not fond of sweets couldn't deny how delicious our cake was. We went with their raspberry swirl cake with cream cheese filling. Would highly recommend them!

Not only was the cake beautiful but it was amazingly delicious! We had the amaretto raspberry cake with raspberry filling and it was out of this world! Many guests had seconds and couldn't stop talking about it. I would HIGHLY recommend Cakes By Carolynn!!!

Cakes by Carolynn made our special wedding cake for our Sept 21st wedding. We went to them beginning of the year for our cake tasting and both my husband and I fell in love with the flavors. It was so hard to actually pick what one we wanted. When you walked into the store the smell was just to die for. They did an amazing job on our cake and everyone loved how it came out!

Cakes by Carolyn created my beautiful wedding cake for my destination wedding in Florida. I was very pleased with the design. I was not particular in details when I placed my order; I let them know my wedding colors and theme, and I couldn't have been more happy. I had several guests ask who made the cake and comment on how great it tasted. Great job Cakes of Carolyn and THANK YOU!.

We got married at the Grand Plaza and a cake by Cakes By Carolynn was included. We were a little nervous about that but we were so pleasantly surprised. They did a tasting for us and the cakes were all amazing. We loved the ability to get some different flavors (our cake was chocolate chip) but still have it be something most people liked. There was a bit of a charge to have the fancy flavor but nothing crazy and it was perfect. The cake was beautiful and we got many compliments on it. I couldn't be happier that they did our cake!!

By the time I got around to booking my wedding cake, I knew I just wanted something beautiful and simple. Cakes by Carolynn made my dream come true. I brought my own cake topper and seashells and they did a beautiful job creating a 3-tier wedding cake for us. I was in awe on my wedding day when I saw it and received so many compliments. The "Cakes by Carolynn" team was professional and extremely helpful and we even had a mini-cake tasting (I was too exhausted for the full experience). Now I know why I kept hearing "Cakes by Carolynn" uttered when looking for places to order a beautiful and equally delicious wedding cake!

So very happy with Cakes by Carolynn! We live in Ohio and planned a vow renewal on the beach in Florida. I had a vision of what I wanted, found a picture on Pinterest, and emailed it to Cakes by Carolynn. Every staff member I spoke with by phone was friendly, and they always responded very quickly tomy calls/emails! Wehad exactly what I wanted, delivered to the beach, on time, and it was as delicious as it was beautiful! Many guests commented on how pretty and yummy our cake/cupcakes were. HIGHLY recommend Cakes by Carolynn!!

I just wanted to send you a huge Thank You for the outstanding wedding cake for my daughters wedding on June 12, 2015 at the Sirata Beach Resort. This place makes the most delicious cake! My husband and I opted for an almond and raspberry swirl cake for our main cake and a marble cake for the groom's cake and our guests raved! The staff was very helpful in answering any questions I had regarding cakes. They were also very prompt in delivering and setting up the cake the day of the wedding. They also advised how to properly store the top tier for our first anniversary. I highly suggest everyone go to a cake tasting and then book with them - nothing else will compare! :)

I could have not asked for a more amazing wedding cake!!! My wedding cake was 3-tiered that fed approx. 75, and it was their popular flavor combo of amaretto raspberry swirl cake with raspberry filling. It was beyond delicious, and a unique flavor that everyone enjoyed. The design of my cake was perfect for my venue, which was The Florida Aquarium. I had an ombre base color from white to blue, and coral design. The staff, especially Bonnie, was very helpful when I was making my decisions on the flavor and design, answering my many phone calls and emails. Also, I am a destination bride living in Chicago, and they made the process very easy for me without meeting them face-to-face after booking their services. I am so happy with their services, and definitely recommend them to anyone who doesn't want a traditional/boring wedding cake.

We chose Cakes by Carolynn for our wedding cake and had a fantastic experience! During our cake tasting they walked us through every step of designing our cake, provided input and showed us pictures of the many cakes they made for other weddings. We sampled many different flavors and fell in love with their blueberry swirl cake. We chose chocolate sea shells and starfish as decorations on the cake for our beach wedding. They handmade these and they looked stunning! The whole cake was to die for. Everything looked perfect and we were very pleased. Highly recommend Cakes by Carolynn if you want the perfect cake for your wedding.

I ordered my wedding cake from here and was so pleased it was beautiful and very delicious I was very pleased considering I was out of state and didn't get to taste the cake before hand. Everyone loved the cake and even the wedding venue said they had never seen a cake that beautiful thank you guys so much :)

It has been great working with Cakes by Carolynn. They are super friendly, helpful, and professional. There work looks absolutely wonderful and I can not wait to see my cake and of course eat it as well. The cake turned out beautiful and tasted amazing! I couldn't ask for anything better. Cakes by Carolynn did an amazing job. I had a 3 tiered naked cake with fresh berries. The cake was rasberry amaretto and butternutt. Every guest said it was the best cake they had ever had. It tasted delicious and was moist even without the outside frosting. I can't wait to order more cakes from here.

From the first day I drove past this shop on my way to a Rays baseball game, I KNEW they were going to do my wedding cake (and this was before I'd even met my husband). I just had a remarkable feeling when I drove by that the place would be amazing, and years later when I went in for a tasting I got confirmation. The cakes are sinfully delicious from cake to frosting to filling, AND they are elegantly designed to the bride's choice. It is difficult to find a place where the cake actually tastes as good as it looks, and I am really picky about my desserts being a self-taught baker. There is nothing I appreciate more than a homemade cake from scratch that tastes as amazing as it looks. My husband and I were so happy with our choice that we ate the top layer instead of freezing it, just so that we would have an excuse to buy a fresh one on our anniversary! Please do not be fooled by the outside (or even inside) look of the shop. Just go in for a tasting and I promise you will not be disappointed :)
