Elegant and accommodating

Special Occasions did a wonderful job with my linen for the wedding. Everything was very nicely laid out. They also helped me with recommendations of linen we could not order cause of Covid. Everything turned out perfect and would not change anything about it. Thank you.

INCREDIBLE Customer Service & SO many options!

WOW! I've planned events for close to 10 years and never met a linen vendor with so many fabulous options. We found the perfect options for my wedding as well as my company's holiday party. The best part was working with the S.O. team though. They were incredibly kind, so excited about aligning to the vision of our events, and were 100% reliable. I would highly recommend working with Special Occasions!

Excellent personal attention, great prices

Special Occasions East and Lorrie are amazing. Their showroom is clean and neatly organized. We made an appointment and had Lorrie's personal attention picking out all of our linen needs. Anytime I called, I was treated with respect and my questions were quickly answered. Their prices are fair and better than the metro Detroit area.

Amazing!! :)

Special Occasions did our linens and it looked BEAUTIFUL! We got married at Waldenwoods and wanted a simple floor length ivory linen and what a difference it made. The venue speaks for itself so we didn’t want to take that away. They were wonderful to work with and even helped with what color chivary chair would look best with the theme we were going for 🥰 we would highly recommend their services 💕

No worries with Special Occasions

The team at Special Occasions East are wonderful! We weren’t sure what to go with and they made the decision easy. The set up/delivery team was friendly and quick. I would use them again!

Great for Decor

We didn't want to have too much "DECOR" for our wedding, and by adding the beautiful linens, the gold chiavari chairs and the head table sequined table cloth, our wedding was what we wanted... Special Occasions did a great job. Everything was set up as it was needed and they were very professional. They even took care of break down. Pricing was good and I am happy we booked with them for our wedding.

The chairs and linens at Special Occasions are superior to the typical rental places I first visited. The quality and selections are beautiful. The Chivari chairs were excellent quality and sturdy. I also liked there wasn’t a minimum order as we only had 50 guests. Other places wouldn’t meet with me without charging a $25 visit fee or requiring 150 guests minimum to work with you. Special Occasions had just received a new lace overlay linen which was perfect for our wedding. My son's wedding was at Castle Farms in Charlevoix. After checking rental places in Northern Michigan, no one compared to the quality of rentals and the customer service of Special Occasions East, Grand Blanc.

One aspect that sets Special Occasions apart is that you are able to go into the showroom and see the large variety of rentals available for weddings-all in pristine condition. Another plus is that the staff will graciously work with the bride by setting-up mock tablescapes to help clarify the wedding vision.

In our case after several visits to Special Occasions, the bride decided on the gold Chiavari chairs, farmhouse tables, gold-rimmed chargers, glittered table numbers and two speciality linens. Now it was up to the owner, Lorrie, to work her magic to make it happen at a venue four hours away on a holiday weekend!

We are so grateful that Lorrie agreed to work with Castle Farms and give of her own personal time to make sure we were able to make the wedding's set-up timeline! Ultimately, two trucks made the trip to Charlevoix with wedding cargo!

The expertise of Special Occasion and the quality of their rentals transformed our reception room at Castle Farms! When a friend asked my husband, the groom's father, what he liked most about the wedding, he replied, "When I first saw the reception room!"

The rentals from Special Occasions East are beautiful, the staff very helpful and the owner, patient and professional. The Smith/Papatheodore families are so appreciative of Lorrie and her staff for their willingness to work with us on our Northern Michigan destination wedding.

I cannot say enough good things about Lorrie and her team at Special Occasions! I was blown away by the quality of both their service overall and of their rentals. We threw a tented reception in my parents backyard and Lorrie and her team arrived super early for us so that we could keep the day on track. They completed all the place settings super quick and everything looked beautiful. I would highly recommend!

Special Occasions East was so great to work with. Upon arrival to pick out our linens, Lorrie greeted us with a smile and wanted to hear all about our vision. She was able to pick out linenes that matched our ideas perfectly. She showed us how our guest table would look with our specialty linens, beautiful chargers and mahogany chivari chairs. We got married at Waldenwoods and Special Occasions East was one of the first vendors there and had everything set up within no time. Special Occasions East made this one of the easiest part of wedding planning and the end result was absolutely stunning. Thank you Lorrie and the rest of the Special Occasions East team.

We were married at Waldenwoods and used Special Occasions for our table linens. They had a wide variety to chose from and staff was super helpful and easy to work with. I loved that we could go to the showroom and try out different color combinations on the display table so we could get an idea of what our vision would look like. A few months after placing our order we needed to make some changes, with a simple email the changes were made. Linens were placed on our tables first thing the day of the wedding and looked phenomenal. I would definitely use Special Occasions again!

The initial meeting was so incredibly helpful in pulling together our vision that we had all jumbled in our heads! We were uncertain what exactly to do for our ceremony and reception to take place at an airplane hangar, but Lorrie and her team made it happen! And.....it was seamless! The staff were efficient and always available to answer questions throughout the entire process. The tables, chairs and all the linens were top quality. They truly pulled together the dream wedding! We were in love with the way Special Occasions made our reception hall look! It honestly looked like a fairy tale in there. The people are incredibly friendly and wonderful to work with and they do a beautiful job!! If you go through them for your wedding you will not regret it at all! My Husband and I had a great experience with Special Occasions! Our reception was absolutely stunning with the specialty linens and Chiavari chairs that we rented. Everything was already set up for us when we arrived making our jobs that much less stressful. The staff members we worked with for the consultation process were both friendly and extremely helpful. I paid for the bridal shower that included napkins, linens, and the chivari chairs and it was EXTREMELY reasonable and well worth the money! It looked so beautiful with all of my decorations. Lorrie was very easy to work with and responsive. I HIGHLY recommend this company!! Thank you so much!

I would highly recommend anyone to take a trip to the Special Occasions showroom if you are thinking of using specialty linens or rental items! Lorrie and her whole team cannot be matched with their great recommendations and professionalism. Prices are very fair, and trust me you will not be disappointed! I have worked with this vendor on both a professional and personal level over the years and have always been floored by the final outcome they provide time and time again. I knew Lorrie and the Special Occasions company prior to booking them for the our wedding and they definitely exceeded all of my expectations! Everyone on their team was so helpful and worked around the hiccups that happened on the day of our wedding. Everyone was very professional and showed up exactly when they said they would. I could not of asked for anyone better to do my wedding. Not only are they professional they meet with us multiple times until we were satisfied. Special Occasions is amazing! Lorrie and her team helped me pick the perfect linens and chair rentals for my vision. I did the silver chiavari chairs, they were in perfect conditions, no chips anywhere. Pink satin table cloths, they were well-maintained and pressed. We also did the lace overlay on the head (or "captain's") table which was stunning. They are the exclusive vendor to Waldenwoods Banquets, but if I had the choice I would choose them again. Professional and elegant, they are a perfect choice.

I cannot say enough about Special Occasions! Lorrie's work is absolutely spectacular. Her linens, chargers, etc. totally transformed the room! Lorrie listened to what my daughter wanted and made suggestions and showed us several ideas. She was wonderful to work with and accommodated the several changes we made along the way. We received so many compliments about how wonderful our table settings looked. When my daughter and her husband saw the room for the first time, they were amazed! Set up and clean up was done efficiently and on time. I will definitely use Special Occasions, again, and highly recommend them. You will not be sorry. Lorrie is the absolute BEST!

We are soooo ecstatic with how the linens turned out for our wedding!! They were beyond gorgeous and the broaches brought the tables together so nicely!! They were the most helpful, patient, and kind people to work with. Went above and beyond and anticipated our needs. We had only rented linemen for 18 when we rally needed 20 and they had the extras with them. I would use them in an instant again.

Special occasions helped make our August wedding beautiful! The table clothes they provided for us were the perfect shade of blush and with her recommendation of floor length, helped make our wedding look classy and beautiful. I found Special Occasions at the Genesee County Bridal Show and I used a $500 gift voucher received through the Genesee County Bridal Alliance towards my rentals through Special Occasions. I used linens from Special Occasions' Flint location (tablecloths, chair covers, and sashes) and my venue was in Kalamazoo. They were very flexible as far as accommodating my needs go, they let me pick up the linens a few days in advance and return them a few days after the event. Everything was very organized, easy to set up, and the linens were of great quality. I would definitely recommend Special Occasions to anyone looking for great linens and excellent customer service.

Lorrie and the staff at Special Occasions made the "pretty parts" of wedding planning so much fun. From our initial meeting to day after cleanup we could not have asked for more! Lorrie really helped turn my wild dreams and ideas into a clear and purposeful big picture with beautiful linens, table settings, chairs and some fun extras like hanging grapevine ball lanterns. It was so nice to watch all of the different options unfold in her show room so that we could eliminate and ultimately decide on the best choice for us. Their linens are beautiful and the number of choices and colors to choose from is unbelievable. Come to your first meeting with an open mind-- I would have never imagined our reception room to look like it did when we first started. We worked in a venue that was a blank slate and Lorrie and her team brought it to life. Lorrie guided us 100% to the perfect look!

The whole team at Special Occasions is kind, energetic, creative, and professional! They went above and beyond to help me get the look I needed for my event, and had such a large selection to choose from. They set up a table right in their store so I could see different ideas and colors together to make sure I liked how it looked. They were so patient and accommodating with all of my questions, helping me refine my look until it was exactly what I wanted. Their full service made it easy; I didn't have to do anything! They set up, tear down, and do it beautifully. They have a lot of options that I couldn't find anywhere else, and their staff is all knowledgeable about the products they offer. Other companies may offer cheaper "per unit" prices, but once I totaled the set up, tear down, etc, I would've ended up paying a lot more elsewhere! SO glad to have found Special Occasions!!

it was about six months ago when I met this wonderful lady with so much talent. We were planning our wedding meeting with so many different vendors when one of our extremely talented awesome fabric designer asked " whose doing your linens?" we said we don't know, he then told us about "Special Occasion. So we called set up an appointment and we met with Lorrie and OMG we felt like we won the lottery-Lorrie was awesome she sat down with us we had no clue what we wanted,we told her our colors and she got up started putting tables together with our colors giving us different options,I did then tell her that for my sashes on the chairs I was hoping I could have them shaped like a rose,I showed her a picture of what I wanted and next thing I know shes starts doing a sash and boom there was exactly what I wanted a rose shape sash it was beautiful. In making choices she gave us her opinion and we ran with it. Lorrie and her staff made our tables and chairs so beautiful it took our breath away. Between our fabric designer and Lorrie our reception room was breath taking beautiful. Lorrie surely made our wedding a "SPECIAL OCCASION". So if you want beautiful tables and chairs and much much more you will make the right choice by choosing special occasion but if you chose another company well I'm sorry that you will be disappointed. You can't go wrong with this wonderful, talented, created, sweet,personable professional woman who aims to please-- and this they did our wedding was extremely beautiful. I used Special Occasions for my chair covers. Lorrie from Special Occasions was very helpful when I was trying to make my color choices and wonderful to work with as far as ordering and payment concerns. She was very responsive to inquiries and issues (not that there was any, but if there were she would have handled them!). They have a wide range of colors and styles available and also have matching table linens if you wish. Pricing is in the "above average" range for the area that they serve.

The only complaint I have, this wasn’t her fault though, is that I wish she had more people on staff to get things done faster. They do such a good job with set up, meaning they take their time to make sure it is right, that it takes longer than usual. The Bavarian Inn did not give the hall decorators a lot of time to get the place ready for my event due to another prior. Special Occasions took it right down to the wire to finish due to lack of staff. It still looked fabulous though!

Special occasions went above and beyond our expectations. My fiance and I weren't quite sure what we wanted and Lorrie gave us time to decide, great ideas for what we were looking for, and a color scheme that is making our day one to remember. I would recommend Special occasions for all of your party needs!

Used them because they are the preferred vendor of Waldenwoods.

They were helpful and flexible to meet with to choose our linens. Lorrie had a ton of options and ideas. I appreciated that she set sample tables for me to view and to understand the different kinds of sashes.

Did a beautiful job the day of the wedding, a completely stress free vendor!

Great team

I rented chargers, poly napkins and a few runners to help pull my color theme together and was assisted by Rylie. She was helpful amd responsive and went thru color combos and linen styles so that I could better visualize the look. I loved that they have a show room and it makes a huge difference seeing a set up in real life before ordering colors and sizes. 100% would work with them again!

Special Occasions was great to work with. Quickly updated the order to changes that I made throughout the months beforehand. Easy pick-up and drop-off of linen rentals. Would highly recommend!
