    Spanish Hills helped our wedding dreams come true!

    We worked with Cate Parnin and the staff at Spanish Hills Club to have our wedding. It was a dream come true. Spanish Hills Club is an absolutely gorgeous venue with wonderful staff at every level of the club.

    From the very start, Cate worked with us to get the financials and details together in order for us to make this a reality. And throughout every step of the planning process, Cate was quick to respond, caring, and extremely detailed in her responses.

    The venue has an indoor rain plan in the case of inclement weather, and while we didn't need to use it, we were thankful it was there.

    We had our ceremony up against the northern mountains and the views were incredible. The indoor reception space is spacious and fitting for up to 150 or so people to occupy. They have many options to choose from, including a cappuccino bar, which our guests and us took full advantage of during the later parts of the evening.

    We have no regrets in choosing Spanish Hills Club as our wedding venue. We will cherish these memories, photos, and videos forever and are so grateful to have worked with Spanish Hills to make our wedding dreams come true.

    Beautiful Wedding! Everything was perfect! Best day ever!

    From our first meeting with Claire to the constant communication with her it was wonderful. We hired Rochelle from Above the Bar events as our month/day of coordinator and she went above and beyond for us that day making sure everything ran smoothly. The staff at Spanish Hills was amazing. Our day was perfect. Thank you to everyone at Spanish Hills for giving us the best day ever/

    Perfect setting

    Incredible wedding venue. Beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces. Everyone we worked with was lovely and so accommodating. We had a large wedding with an outside caterer, a setup for the ceremony that included elements like a small fire, a guest appearance by a horse... Nothing fazed them! Multiple guests commented on how fantastic the setting was. Special thanks to Christen and Jennifer for all of their help.

    Great view & venue!

    Bella Vita Events (Event Planners based in Los Angeles) had the chance to work at the Spanish Hills Country Club for over 16 years.     Wonderful experience

    I had a great experience with this venue! They really helped make all my wedding dreams come true. I worked with Claire and Callie, and their responsiveness, attentiveness, and helpfulness was unmatched! The planning process was stress free and they really made it enjoyable. They made sure to always correct anything I wasn’t pleased with or would offer solutions/other options if I wasn’t 100% set on something. Day off, everything was executed perfectly and I didn’t have any worries which was AMAZING! People told me things go wrong on wedding day, but with this staff and venue, nothing went wrong. I would just ask that they warm your buffet food on the warmers a little earlier as our dinner was cold, but other than that everything was great!

    What an incredible venue!

    Ana and I just celebrated our first anniversary, and we have so many wonderful memories of our wedding and reception. Of course, one reason our memories are amazing is it was at Spanish Hills. The amazing backdrop of the Camarillo valley provided us some amazing pictures, and our guests could leisurely enjoy this view during the cocktail hour. The elegant ballroom was the prefect reception place, with its dual fireplaces, it's beautiful floors, even the tables and chairs looked great! Finally, we were blown away by the quality of the food they provided. Not just the filet mignon, which you would expect to be tasty, but they also created a butternut squash ravioli that may have been even more tasty (and that filet was hard to top!). I can't talk highly enough about our experience at Spanish Hills. I highly recommend this venue; it is well worth what we paid :-)

    Perfect all inclusive spot

    After looking at what felt like every outdoor venue in Southern California, and adamantly avoiding any golf course or country club because it wasn’t the vibe we wanted…we just so happened to stop by Spanish Hills on a whim because they were on the way to another scheduled tour and we had time to kill. If you’re looking for a beautiful outdoor venue, with breathtaking views that can accommodate a large crowd, amazing food, the best site coordinating team, and so much more - this is your spot! Christen was so beyond helpful every step of the way leading up to the day, and the staff we had the night of was AMAZING. Absolutely superb service. I couldn’t have asked for a better day. There are multiple locations available to choose from for ceremony & reception - none of them feel remotely like you’re just standing on a golf course and the indoor reception room is the exact opposite of a stuffy country club board room. The whole place is beautiful at every turn. Can’t recommend them enough - it was perfect!!

    Miss caring staff

    The venue was breathtaking. The view at sunset was priceless. Everything was amazing. Everyone I communicated with was genuine and caring from the front office to the banquet captain. If I did it all over again I would pick Spanish Hills Club,

    Great Venue

    Our wedding was beautiful here! The venue coordinator was easy to communicate with and very personable. The property has great views and is well taken care of. Some aspects are dated and can use some updating, but it was easy to get around. The getting ready area is mostly just a bathroom so that was a little difficult and not very pretty for pictures. Overall, we loved the venue. Camarillo makes for great summer time weather so we were very happy!

    Gorgeous and great staff!!!!

    I cannot .say enough about the Spanish Hills County Club, not only is this place gorgeous, the staff there is also amazing!!! I got married there this past weekend, and everything was just perfect. All of my guests were just in awe with how beautiful the place was, it is so classy yet still has that warm cozy feeling with the Spanish decor, giant fireplaces, and chandeliers. Whitney was the best in helping us with decision making and helping us determine what wold work best for my guests needs. I wish I could celebrate my wedding again at Spanish Hills Country Club, I would highly recommend them!

    Working with this group of vendors was the best experience, they made my wedding day flow with ease and joy, working with each one of them, offered top notch customer service. Music was excellent, the DJ, Marty kept the party upbeat and dancing all night long, Elizabeth ( Photographer) was excellent, working with her was the best, she runs a tight ship and I was very grateful for her on my special day, she gave us the best service ever, working with her was great, she made us feel like a star. Jaclyn at Casi Cielo was off the charts, she heard my vision and make it happen, when I walked into the room , to my surprise it was just exactly what I had visioned, Her work is absolutely beautiful. The Photo booth kept everyone up there for a quick shot of fun

    This is a beautiful Venue to have a wedding. My sister has here wedding here and it was Gorgeous ! Food and services was excellent . Everything looked beautiful !! Thank you Spanish Hills

    Her Dj she got DJ Melo Golden Crown Production ! Was excellent !!! Had us dancing all night long.Played a wide verity of music and very professional.

    We had our wedding here in June. Jami and her crew were amazing and made our day perfect. Spanish Hills was extremely flexible and easy to work with and worked with us on every detail to make sure the day went smoothly. Everyone was a pleasure to work with and our guests had a great time!

    I fell in LOVE with this venue the moment I saw it and knew it was the perfect place for my husband and I to get married. We booked in December of 2014 for our wedding on 6/4/16 and the process with Spanish Hills was so smooth and they were super responsive when it came to answering any questions I had.

    The only hiccup during our planning process was that our initial event coordinator left Spanish Hills about a month before the wedding and the second coordinator we were assigned to left soon after. I was obviously concerned but after speaking to Jami and Lupe, all of my concerns went away.

    The day of our wedding could not have been anymore perfect and the staff was fantastic in following my decoration instructions, as well as requests for certain family members. The food was also AMAZING! Our guests are still raving about how delicious dinner and all the appetizers were.

    Overall, I would 100% recommend Spanish Hills as a venue to any bride <3

    I am so happy we went to the bridal show at Spanish Hills. The grounds are BEAUTIFUL! The evening went perfect thank you to the wedding coordinator Bridget. I don't know what I would have done without her. She is SO good at what she does. The food was unbelievable! The filet was a hit. Everyone loved the synchronized serving. Perfect venue!

    Without a doubt, Spanish Hills MADE our wedding! Tania was incredible to work with and put all of our worries at ease right from the beginning. We knew Spanish Hills was our venue from the moment we walked in and saw the beautiful room with it's giant fireplaces and gorgeous chandeliers. The outdoor space was incredible and we are so happy with our decision to get married under the beautiful trees overlooking the bluff. The staff at Spanish Hills made our day an absolute dream. Everything was set up exactly how I imagined, they were attentive to us, our bridal party and our guests. The food was incredible and the service was spectacular. Best of all, they really take care of everything. As a bride, you're already so stressed out trying to coordinate photography, DJ, flowers, officiant, etc. I can how hard it would be to also find a caterer, rental company, linens, place settings, coordinator and more. Spanish Hills covered all of that and more! They exceeded all expectations and the cost was very reasonable compared to other venues in the area that don't have even half of the elegance. Thank you to Tania and Spanish Hills for making our wedding dreams come true!

    Spanish Hills Country Club proved to be a stunning site for our ceremony and reception. We were given so much flexibility to design the space and Spanish Hills fully delivered on the entire set up. It was exactly how we had envisioned it! Our wedding coordinator, Tania, was accessible, professional, and very organized. She also went above and beyond to accommodate our special requests, answer a colossal amount of questions and emails, and handle all communication with their vendors on our behalf. Our entire evening was executed flawlessly and we received numerous compliments on how beautiful the site was. We highly recommend using Spanish Hills Country Club for a wedding to be remembered forever!

    Spanish Hills Country Club is honestly one of the most beautiful venues that I have been to. We were searching high and low for the perfect venue and we were not fully satisfied until we came here. After seeing the venue, we knew this was the place we wanted to celebrate our wedding day.

    We worked with Briane Goodman and Bridget Partida throughout our wedding planning. Both were so easy to work with. They were always there to answer any concerns or questions that I had! They made our wedding planning a wonderful experience.

    As for SHCC itself, the grounds are absolutely breathtaking. You have beautiful chandeliers, a large open window, fireplaces, romantic lighting. It was really all that we could ask for and more. We had our cocktail hour out on the lawn and reception inside. We got the best of both worlds as our guests got to enjoy the outdoor views as well. If you are looking for a venue that feels like its completely away from the city, is beyond beautiful, has quality food and flexible wedding packages, this is the place for you. Our guests loved everything about our wedding day and this is due in part to SHCC.

    I am soooooo blessed that my husband and I found this wonderful venue! We were just about to settle on a venue when I said, "let's check out ONE more venue".......As soon as we walked into the Spanish Hills Country Club the search was all over! We had found our dream venue, a place where we could both see ourselves getting married! Our venue coordinator was Tania! She is a dream come true as a wedding coordinator! I loved working with her. She was professional, funny, incredibly sweet and always quick to respond with an answer! My theme for my wedding was "old Hollywood Glamour" and this venue was the ultimate accessory in making it come to life! The staff is beyond up to par!!! They are polite, courteous and extremely professional. The FOOD, ooooooh my gosh the food!! My guests are still coming up to me 5 months after the wedding talking about how I had the greatest food of any wedding they've been to! I had a great idea of wanting to have mini grilled cheese sandwichs and fries as a "midnight snack". Tania told me that the venue hadn't made them as a snack before but was sure it would be no problem. Sure enough come the wedding night, the venue put together the cutest display of mini grilled cheese and fries in mini square plastic glasses with ketchup in the bottom. It looked very artsy, and very classy! My guests were raving about that! I seriously cannot sing enough praises about this venue and about Tania! She made this whole experience so fun and exciting! I wish I could get married and do it all over again! I do not have a single complaint about this place, everything was done to perfection!!!

    Spanish Hills Country Club was an amazing venue for our Reception!! The staff was very courteous and always had a smile on their face. We booked this venue at least 10 months before our wedding date. Working with Bridget Partida Donlon the director of catering at the club was a wonderful experience. She was attentive, professional, sensitive to our needs, and was always willing to work with us. She was very helpful when we needed suggestions and explained why a certain format would work for us or not be beneficial to us.
    Our family and friends who attended our celebration had nothing but wonderful accolades to say about the venue.
    The food was delicious, the service was wonderful and the room was beautiful when we walked in.
    It was exactly what we had hoped for!!

    Spanish Hills is AMAZING!!! The grounds are beautiful, the ballroom is elegant, and the food is delicious (they were great about modifying the menu to work around food allergies). Our coordinator, Bridget, and the staff were friendly, accommodating, and a pleasure to work with. They helped make all of our wedding dreams come true.

    We've been members for about 20 years, and have attended many beautiful weddings at Spanish Hills....but when it came our turn for our son's wedding, an evening event wasn't going to work out for them....so they selected a Saturday morning, with reception ending at 3:30 p.m. From moment one, we were treated as if we were spending a huge amount of money. We did the diligent search through other vendors and it all came back to Spanish Hills. Our kids' wedding was beautiful...the staff, Tania, Bridget, Jason, Steve, Mike, Patty, were all very professional and yet warm and fuzzy, soothing every bit of anxiety we had. They were flexible, creative and so attentive. Tania worked with us throughout the whole process, including our rehearsal dinner, set up beatifully out on the balcony...it was just spectacular. We were given names of vendors, to use or not to use, and we chose many of our own vendors due to the time of day, budget, etc. and I have to say that everyone of them were welcome at Spanish Hills and given every thing that they needed to make their job perfect for our kids' day.

    We used Luis Castro as our DJ....an incredible young man who changed from his very professional business casual clothes into a very sleek black suit, perfect for our wedding....our cake vendor was Mai from LivLee Bakery in Thousand Oaks, a very small bakery, with a vision to make our cake come to life! Our videographer was Jordan Sweeney, sweetest guy around...Robin Swanson was our photographer and had the photo booth....it all came together beautifully.

    We had guests from 6 states, and from Australia, all are raving over the food from the rehearsal dinner, to the cocktail hour following the wedding to the actual wedding and are still asking about the cake! Now that is alot of food and alot of opportunities to not come through but Spanish Hills lived up to their reputation and our event was a huge success.

    The ability to create your menu for any event was so much fun. Tania deserves a huge hug for working so closely with us....

    When all is said and done, we had added Chivarri chairs, and Satin Table Cloths, brought in our centerpeices, place cards, and votives and the place looked like it was set for a magazine shoot. No one even noticed that it was full on daylight while our party was going on....its just a beautiful venue and we are so happy we chose this for our special couple!

    There is no way to express how our small budget wedding looked like a $50,000 affair! Trust me, go there, and start dreaming. If you have selected another place, use SH for their catering, your food will be delicious and your guests will be raving over your choices.

    Most of all, if you select Spanish Hills, you will have beautiful grounds for your pictures, the music you select just waves throughout the setting, the cocktail terrace and passed trays and fruit filled water jars will just be the special touch you wanted for your special day.

    Tell Tania that Donna sent you there.....she'll take good care of you! All of them will Thank you Spanish Hills for treating our kids like they were your one and only event! We will never forget how nice it was to show up and know that it was all done to perfection.

    An amazing place! Everything is extremely professional and well run. Bridget was incredible - she kept the stress level low, was very flexible with our scheduling since we were doing everything from out of town, and tailored things to our specific needs and wishes. Even though there are packages, it is very easy to make adjustments, add or exchange things as fit your preferences. The staff was incredibly friendly and easy to work with. And when our cake didn't show up on time, Bridget had a backup plan ready to go. This place made our wedding very special! Best choice if you want a low stress, beautiful wedding.

    Our experience with SHCC was a great one. When we decided to use Spanish Hills as our location, Lanette was the coordinator assigned to us. A month and a half before the wedding Lanette left and we began working with Briane. She was a pleasure to work with and and helped ease any concerns we had.

    Also, the food was delicious, the service was great, and we have no complaints about this place.

    I had a great experience with Spanish Hills Country Club. This venue is beautiful. The food was delicious. I had many compliments on the chicken. Bridget was my coordinator and she was excellent!! I had a big wedding party and Bridget handled it with ease.

    Spanish Hills was the perfect venue for our wedding last May. We worked with Hallie and Lanette who were both absolutely amazing and easy to work with. We couldn't have been happier with our venue selection. They were very accomodating and willing to work on everything with us. Such a pleasure- would definitely recommend in a heart beat!

    We were hesitant to book our reception at Spanish Hills, since it was way over our budget. It was one of the first places we looked at during our search for the perfect place. After looking at MANY places that were in our budget, our minds still went back to Spanish Hills. I am so glad we splurged for SH! Bridget was an awesome coordinator, and let us arrive early to set up (I wanted everything to be just right!). She was very calm and professional throughout our day, keeping our stress levels very low. The staff was extremely hard working and kept each of our guests happy.

    My husband and I had our wedding at Spanish Hills, and we had the best time. A handful of guests said it was the best wedding they had been to, and we feel the same way. The process was so organized with Christen's management. She was very prompt to our inquiries and she provided clear responses. She found solutions for our requests that were not included in the package we selected. On the day of, everything came together without a hitch. The food was fantastic. Our guests complimented the filet steak. The chef was able to prepare a fish we wanted but which was not part of their regular menu. They also offered a vegan option. We had the cappuccino bar and our guests found it to be a lovely addition. The dining staff were so pleasant, it made such a difference in the ambiance of the night. The venue was perfect, with a gorgeous sunset during cocktail hour and a beautiful reception venue offering many rooms and areas to let your guests decide where to mingle. The day really was special and was above and beyond what we had imagined. Thank you, Christen, and the team at Spanish Hills!

    The first day we visited the Venue we knew it was the place. We had a Limited budget but Lupe gave us different options to fit into the budget and had an amazing reception where everyone were really happy! Great service, delicious food and amazing service. I highly recommend it. Lupe made everything easy for us. Thanks!

    The moment we step on the grounds of Spanish Hills, we knew that this was our venue. SHCC has a classic elegance to it, yet its still warm and inviting. The grounds/gardens and mountain views are stunning. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Our coordinate Bridget was fantastic. It was very easy working with her during the months leading up to the wedding. The day of she handled everything professionally and with ease. I was able to enjoy the day and not worry about a single thing. We had our ceremony outside, with the mountains in the background. Our cocktail hour was also outside, on the overlook terrace. Our reception was held inside in the grand dining room. The tall ceilings & windows, chandeliers, dark wood and roaring fireplaces (along with your decor) makes this room truly exquisite. The food was delicious, exactly what we expected and picked at our tasting. We are so happy with our decision to have our wedding here.

    I could NOT have asked for a better wedding venue experience! Spanish Hills is gorgeous--the perfect blend of the garden, outdoor-wedding feel for the ceremony, and the elegant indoor ballroom for the reception. This venue was the best choice for us in terms of budget, beauty, and convenience, AND it was perfect for our guests--everyone loved the food (one of the best meals you will ever eat in your life); easy-to-navigate setup; beautiful location; plentiful, close-by, and complimentary parking; and even the weather (nowhere else in So Cal can you have a wedding in July where the weather is PERFECT--sunny but not blinding, warm with a slight breeze).

    Be sure to book with Tania T. as your wedding day-of coordinator. She is so accommodating, answered every question I ever had, always responsive and easy to get a hold of, and flexible. Booking with her was so simple and easy. Not to mention she is always smiling--she genuinely loves what she does. She double-checked every wedding detail (timeline, meals, setup, etc.) and even laid our all our decorations for the guest table, sweets table, etc--we didn't have to worry about any setup, she did it all perfectly. The day of the wedding, everything was ready the MINUTE it was supposed to be. The chef even went out of his way to accommodate our special request for a Persian-style fruit table.

    My favorite touch was when they sent a staff member with a platter of appetizers just to follow the groom and myself around during our private photo session while all the other guests were eating appetizers during the cocktail hour--a very nice touch, since we would have had no other chance to eat the amazing appetizers, and because we were starving.

    Nowhere else can you find this level of service and personal attention coupled with such an elegant, classy location and such wonderful food for this price! They also don't have any ridiculous hidden fees--they don't charge for cake cutting, etc. Book with them! Our wedding went so smoothly thanks to Tania, and it was a HUGE relief in terms of our budget!

    Many weddings are hosted here and this turned me off initially as I wanted my wedding to be "special." When I got over this, however, I learned to appreciate how wonderfully orchestrated the venue is. Everything works out perfectly! Hallie was our event coordinator and she couldn't have been any better. Everyone loved the wedding and reception site, our wedding photographs are beautiful, and I am a thoroughly satisfied customer. Highly recommended.

    So happy I chose this venue for my ceremony and reception. Beautiful place and wonderful staff. Worked with Tania and she was the greatest- we were stress free knowing we could trust her to make sure everything went smoothly! I spent hours and hours researching venues and once I visited Spanish Hills and saw how flexible they could be, how professional Tania was, & what a beautiful place it was inside and outside I knew it would be perfect! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Spanish Hills to anyone looking into venues!

    Super sweet professionals willing to do anything to make you happy. My day of coordinators bent over backwards to make sure I had the wedding of my dreams. They create a custom package based on your needs and allow substitutions and have lots of fun add on options. They even refund you the cash for items you do not use. My wedding guests were blown away at the lavish coriographed dinner service and gorgeous venue. If i had to do it all over again, Spanish Hills Country Club would always be the venue I choose.

    Spanish Hills was a great venue. The price was good for the quality. When we first went to tour the venue we were working with Halie and she was great! Once we booked, Halie was gone and we then started working with Lanette. After a year and a half (3 weeks before the wedding) Lanette left and we worked with Bridget. We wished we didn't get bumped around so much but Bridget was good and she picked up the missing pieces.

    Beautiful Venue!

    We absolutely loved the view of the ceremony and the ambiance of the reception space. You couldn’t buy a more beautiful day! Staff was attentive and the night manager was awesome.

    Prior reviews proved to be true, the alcohol/ID policy was ridiculous considering we paid for an open bar for 6 hours on the most expensive night of the week… and I also had multiple guests come to me concerned that certain types of people were being targeted more than others during the ID process… mind you we had paid for an “open sip” for almost all of our guests (minus the only 4 children there). There was no ID process there so I don’t know what that is about.

    Regardless, The food was amazing and I got so many compliments on the updates made to the interior! All in all, I would recommend this venue to the classic “cali/golf course vibe” couple! I’d give it a 10/10 for aesthetic, 10/10 for food, drink situation 8/10, and overall professionalism 9/10! A truly beautiful venue!

    After a lot of research, we chose this venue for our wedding. The view is breathtaking and the food amazing. Since they do a lot of weddings, they have the process down which makes everything so much easier--especially since I did not use a wedding planner. We worked with Megan Burgiss and Jami Evens, both poised and highly professional. Jami literally saved the day when one of my wedding party had a serious wardrobe malfunction! Thanks, Jami!!! They provide a preferred vendors list and everyone we chose on it was spot on professional, provided quality service, and was really friendly. I cannot say enough good things about Matt Graumann, our DJ and MC for the evening. He is extremely organized, articulate, and will help the pickiest of brides with just the right song choices!

    I took one star off for service for two reasons. We had an open bar and the bartender was rude to our guests. Apparently he had a tip jar but only brought it out in front of certain guests and would then put it back behind the counter. I'm not sure if this was policy but if you do the open bar and depend on ur guests to tip--like we did--then make it clear to the venue and make sure Art is NOT ur bartender. He left abruptly before the event ended and we were left waiting for about 10 minutes for a bartender to replace him. Also, the restaurant told one of my guests that they ran out of steak--which she had pre-ordered. They gave her salmon instead--which she hates! However when two of our guest arrived a little late, the restaurant gave them two steaks! At the end of ur event they will give you an evaluation form. Use it.
    Overall--happy with this venue. Wedding prep was easy, view makes for breath-taking pics, and the food was delicious. Our guests enjoyed the experience--especially the ones that didn't drink alcohol and ordered the salmon :-P

    From our first appointment we had to view the venue both of us knew right away this was the one. The rich details in and outside kept making our jaws drop, it’s beautiful!!! Bridget was our go to person and answered every one of my countless emails. We were able to make several changes leading up to the wedding. She was in contact with my vendors to make sure they had the proper insurance paperwork. At the rehearsal Bridget walked us through everything and was real helpful helping us decide some last minute things for the ceremony, like where to stand and accommodate my dad to walk me down the aisle for just a short distance. We also dropped off everything for the wedding the day before and I made instruction cards on where I wanted things placed. On the day of the wedding we got to take a sneak peak of the reception room and OMG!! The room was gorgeous even more so than I envisioned. SHCC did a great job placing all of our items. The ceremony site was also perfect and spot on. We did not hear any negative reviews only great ones. A few guests raved about the food and the service, the staff all comes out at once and does a little spin number before placing the food at the tables all at once. The food was a little different from what we tried at the tasting but it was still pretty good, I actually did not notice the difference. If you want to blow guests away with your venue and service this is the place to do it.

    Spanish Hills Country Club is a perfect place to get married! It is so romantic and intimate. Its not your typical HOTEL wedding. The catering managers are so helpful and cater to your every need. They were very attentive. The venue is BEAUTIFUL! The garden is amazing and the Main Dining Room is spectacular. There are beautiful iron chandeliers! Its a Spanish/Mediterranean inspired venue! There are beautiful fountains and perfect green grass landscapes to take unique pictures. The food is delicious and the presentation of plating was not your typical chicken or steak. It was artistic. The hor devours are DELICIOUS as well! Brides, another thing you MUST pay attention to, is the drive to the venue. What are your guests going to see? It was a beautiful drive! Everything was green and the mountain tops were so beautiful! Its a serene drive. There are tons of strawberry fields. Its perfect! The only negative is not everyone got served cake. So just make sure you voice that concern. Other than that, SHEER PERFECTION!

    Spanish Hills is gorgeous. The grounds are beautiful for a wedding. We chose to do our alter under the trees facing the pool, and had the wedding party and myself walk down the stairs to create a more dramatic entrance. We hung chandeliers in the trees and hung fabric on the pool gate, it looked incredible! The food was outstanding. We did the dual plate for everyone. We had 200 guests. The food service is exceptional. They even created a custom cocktail for us. The only negative was the planner we worked with. Bryane was not on time, and unorganized. She always forgot what we had talked about in a previous meeting, and we would have to explain to her again. My mom ended up having to facilitate the rehearsal because she could not. On the wedding day she tried last minute to change our food plans, and while my mom was lined up to walk down the aisle, bombarded her and told her we had to change the salad. Talk about last minute and ruining a moment?! She continued to tell our DJ that we needed to change things around for the reception DURING the wedding ceremony. We did not appreciate our plans being altered day of, when everything had been confirmed weeks out.

    Other than our day planner, everything was perfect!

    Spanish Hills CC was a wonderful place to get married. We live in Northern California (but grew up in LA) so the fact that SHCC handled most of the food/beverage/ceremony matters was really helpful. Everything was good, especially given the price. My only drawbacks would be the following:
    1) The team that helps plan the weddings/events also helps run the weddings/events, which means responses will be delayed when you email or call them. Jami does her best though, which was appreciated.
    2) Because this is a country club, they won't/can't tell members what to do. This resulted in a) really loud splashing and yelling during our wedding ceremony (which is located right next to the pool) and b) members "crashing" our wedding. One of our guests had to ask them to leave, since the venue staff wouldn't do it.
    3) We found out after the fact that a number of our guests didn't receive wine service with dinner, even though we specifically closed the bar because there would be wine service.

    Spanish Hills was a lovely venue. However, the quality of the "synchronized" dinner was disappointing. This specific feature was the main reason for picking this venue, and it was not what was expected. It was not communicated that the service was going to be one table at a time.. I guess I shouldn't have assumed that all guests would be served simultaneously (but it would have been a grand sight!). The ceremony sight was beautiful and the staging area was a plus. The ballroom itself is elegant, with the bar and lounge being fully furnished and not needing much decor. Overall, we were expecting a little more from the amount spent at this venue. We may have considered going else where knowing the outcome.

    We got married here recently and were rather disappointed. Here are the pros:

    -beautiful venue. All of our guests commented on how beautiful our ceremony was and everyone loved the venue.

    -food. The food is really good and we also got multiple compliments on the food.

    -price. You can't really beat the price for the type of location and quality food that you get.

    Overall, it is a great venue; however, we were really disappointed with the service. Don't expect any special treatment at all. You are just another $20K to them. They weren't accommodating at all when we tried to view the venue or set up our tasting. We don't live in the area and we had to work around their schedule. No exceptions at any time. At the rehearsal, the wedding coordinator was all over everyone about being on time, etc... Well the day of the wedding, we were ready to go at 5:45 pm and she was nowhere to be found. My husband was trying to find her, because it was complete chaos outside. He assumed she was inside with me, but she wasn't, because my Dad was also trying to find her. 6:00 rolls around and at this point, my Dad is beyond frustrated and actually, I've never seen him that angry in my life. We were told we had to be ready to go at 5:45 on the dot and here it is at 6:00 pm and still, no sign of the wedding coordinator. Eventually, she lines everyone up at 6:15. This is now a half hour later than planned. It might not seem like a long time, but a half an hour is a long time when everyone is anxious and nervous. And it gets worse....

    My ring bearer walked down the aisle without the ring bearer pillow even though I had given it to the wedding coordinator the day before the wedding. The head table didn't have champagne for the "toast." How do you forget the head table? We paid for wine during dinner or at least it was included in our package, but wine was only served after my mother had to track the coordinator down to point out no wine was being served. By the time they started pouring wine, we were already finished with our meals. Granted, guests could go to the bar, but we paid for wine service. My mother had to eat her meal cold, because she was busy hunting down the wedding coordinator to remind them about the wine service instead of eating. I've been to some hole in the wall banquet halls that can manage to get the wine served on time with dinner, so it is inexcusable to me that a place that boasts about its "service" can't manage to do the same....

    The cappuccino machine was included in our package and I had told a lot of guests about the cappuccino bar after dinner. Apparently, the cappuccino machine wasn't working, but that information was never relayed to us. They probably knew it wasn't working, but never mentioned it. We did receive a refund check in the mail, but still, they seemed to promise a lot that wasn't delivered in the end.

    Also, the day of the wedding we decided to purchase some heat lamps for our cocktail hour. One of them wasn't working, but sure enough, we were still charged the full $75 for it. My husband has now followed up with the coordinator multiple times about getting a refund for the broken heat lamp. Normally, we would let it go; however, we were so fed up with everything that we decided to fight for our refund since we technically paid for something that didn't work. During the cocktail hour, my mom tried to find the wedding coordinator to tell her that we needed to switch the heat lamp since it wasn't working, but again, she was nowhere to be found. Funny enough...we haven't gotten a response and it has been over a month. I also left part of my veil there and was told they have it. My mother in law went to go pick it up, but they said they didn't have my veil. Again, I have followed up with the wedding coordinator multiple times and still, no response.

    Oh and I almost forgot to mention the wedding crashers. You better not dare step foot on the "member" side, but apparently, the members can roam to the other side as my husband ran into some wedding crashers who were trying to decide whether they should pretend to know the bride or the groom. Our wedding was 150 people and we knew everyone in the room...nice try...but where was our banquet coordinator then? Not to mention while trying to take pictures on the "non-member" side, there was a "member" who decided to stand right in front of us, so our photographer couldn't take pictures...when politely asked to move, he refused, and reminded us that he was a member and we weren't, so he has a right to stand wherever he wants...

    All of this might seem like small stuff and our guests probably didn't notice that wine wasn't being served, etc...but it was a big deal to us as we paid for our wedding on our own and it seemed as though they couldn't execute basic service tasks.

    Horrible new management. Beware.

    NEW MANAGEMENT. POTENTIAL WEDDINGS BEWARE!

    We were one of the few weddings to had the pleasure of working with the previous management team and the absolute displeasure of working with the new management team spearheaded by Christen.

    The venue itself is beautiful and the event staff are all kind and do their job well. No complaints at all there.

    FOOD TASTING:
    When we came for our food tasting the wrong food was served. And we were not able to ask any questions since Christen was nowhere to be found. On top of that we were charged for wine, champagne, and the extra sides we wanted to try. We had to get the charges removed. All in all.. a horrible experience.

    BEFORE THE EVENT:
    Just a few weeks before the event Christen called us complaining about how hard it is to find staffing and that the cost for staffing was higher than they anticipated. Her decision was to then call the bride and tell her that she needs to cover the additional cost for staff or cut our guest list. And was extremely rude. Both families had to be involved and a major stress on all of us until they finally dropped this and covered the costs as they should because it's what was written in the contract. Again... this was a common theme we saw once new management was introduced.

    NIGHT OF THE WEDDING:

    The bride asked Christen for shots for herself and her bridesmaid party and was told NO.
    We very specifically were told that we could serve shots at the wedding... on top of shots not being served, they also didn't serve drinks on top of ice. They told the father of the bride he could not have a whiskey on ice. Imagine that? Telling the host of the event they couldn't have a drink? After we paid for premium bar also.

    They gave us trouble for trying to reserve seats during the wedding ceremony for the bridal and groomsmen party. Seems like a pretty normal ask but of course they had an issue with it... even though it was discussed at length prior to the wedding.

    SEVERAL PEOPLE came to us during and after the wedding and mentioned how rude Christen was that night. Including the people very close to the wedding party.

    Our email to Christen asking for any explanation as to why shots weren't served at the wedding was completely ignored as well.

    The Spanish Hills Management team and Christen specifically are the one part of our wedding we hope we forget.

    Think long and hard before you consider booking your wedding here.

    A few good things just so I am being fair

    - it is a beautiful venue 100%
    - the food was absolutely delicious and probably the best food I've had at a wedding ever. Got a lot of compliments on it
    - they did a great job remodeling the place
    -the event staff were all great and very nice
