The Southwest Event Center at the Hampton Inn Tropicana was the perfect venue for my ceremony and reception. I would not trade it for no other venue in the Las Vegas area. The facility is in a prime location situated in walking distance to the last vegas strip. It's detached from the hotel itself allowing more of a privacy feeling for any occassion. The building is beautiful both inside and out. The foyer is large with lots of windows and the restrooms were sparkling clean. The banquet room can accomodate an assortment of events. We held our ceremony and reception in the banquet room and it too was one of the best decisions we made. There was no hassle about traveling from point A or B. Everything was held in one location. My husband and I reside in North Carolina so our wedding was a destination one. We had family and friends from Hawaii thru the East Coast who attended. Also our engagement was a short one so we had less than three months to plan everything. My husband is a service member who during those three months was deployed to Afghanistan. I thought it would be difficult to focus on his safety and planning our wedding. However, it was not because I had the best wedding planner. I could not have asked for a more professional, kind, flexible and easy to work with wedding planner, Ms. Lorin Balaban. In three months we had planned a wedding that would have normally taken at least 6 months. My husband and I were able to create our own buffet menu and we chose a Hawaiian style menu. Having been born and raised in Hawaii I did worry the food wouldn't be to the standards of authentic Hawaiian food. From our personal reviews a long with family and friends both from Hawaii and elsewhere, the chef and his crew did a superb job. Everything from the main dishes, salads and deserts was "ono" delicious. If you are looking for a venue for your wedding ceremony, reception or both in the Las Vegas area, I highly recommend the Hampton Inn Tropicana Southwest Event Center.

If you want some that is patient and reliable I suggest that you book at the Hampton Inn-Tropicana. Lorin was my wedding consultany and she was the best. I would know consider her to be a part of my family now. She made sure that everything was prefect. From the booking of the rooms for my family that came from out of town. To the fact of providing me with a a beautiful suite at the hotel. The reception was breath-taking. Then theme that I had wanted was what was shown on the website, but what she did was bigger and so much better. She came up with ideas that I have never heard of. She was always there for me no matter what time and how many times a day I have called her. Everything was wonderful. I will differently use them for other events in the future and I would suggest that you all do the same.

The reception was a blast! We wanted something cheap but still nice. Josie at the Hampton Inn provided all of that. The wedding cake was just as I described it. The Dj provided was great. The only thing I could complain about is that our bartender didn't know a variety of shots to make but other than that it's everything we were looking for especially on such a tight budget.
