    Awesome Experience!

    Everything was wonderful from start to finish! The staff went above and beyond to please the guests and the wedding party.
    The food and service was outstanding.

    Get married here. Seriously. You will not be sorry you chose the Commander. Judy, the events manager, is the most amazing person. She helped us through every step of the process, had great ideas, was super responsive, and was an overall delight to work with. Now that my wedding is over, I'm a little disappointed that I won't be able to hang out with her any more! The staff at the Commander were consistently friendly, attentive, efficient, and just so nice! From bellhops to waiters, everyone rocked! And the food! The food is outstanding! Over 140 meals were served on time, with no guests waiting around. I'd recommend the devils on horseback for cocktail hour. The Commander only takes one wedding at a time, and it shows! The hotel itself is beautiful, with lots of historic touches and a George Washington theme. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. You can't beat the location in Harvard Square, 5 minutes from the T. My favorite banquet rooms are the Lexington and Concord rooms with amazing original windows, which is where we hosted brunch. So many guests kept coming up to the groom and I to tell us how much they loved the food, the staff, and the hotel. I cannot sing the praises of the Commander loud enough!

    Judy, and the entire staff at the Sheraton Commander are brilliant. Seriously, incredible.

    I was initially hopeful because after my initial email to Judy was responded to within 24 hours (this unfortunately is not the norm when you are trying to book more than a year in advance). Not only did Judy respond, she answered all of my initial questions and more. We had a specific vision in mind and Judy worked with us through every. single. email. Step-by-step to make our vision come to fruition. All of the food the day of was just as delicious as our tasting, and all weird food allergies were easily accommodated. The staff at the Sheraton is incredible. SUPER attentive without being annoying. Everyone who worked the wedding was such a joy, and we even caught a few of them dancing in the wings at the reception! It was marvelous. The Commander is comparatively affordable (with a customizable budget) for a large crowd in Boston, and is far less work than the other venues at the same price point. Can we get married at the Sheraton Commander again?

    We fell in love with the Sheraton Commander as soon as we walked in the door! Every person we met, from the reception desk to the event planners to the folks who clean to the valet person to anyone whose path we crossed were professional, polite, caring, eager to help and welcoming. The Sheraton Commander is our Number One go to place when visiting Cambridge.

    We cannot speak more highly of our experience at the Sheraton Commander if we tried. In a few words: magical, wow, incredible, organized, efficient. Our families have been staying at the Sheraton Commander for years while we were in college and graduate school so we decided to check it out for our wedding. We met with Judy and were blown away. They operate like a very, very well oil-machined. Judy is professional, flexible, accommodating, and just remarkable! Every question she answered within minutes. If we had an idea, she was flexible and would help brainstorm how we could make it possible. She had us fill out planning forms at periodic intervals to keep us on track with wedding planning. Most importantly she met with us two days before our wedding to go over all our decorations, thank you gifts, etc. All staff was perfect -- flexible on booking rooms, room rates, and room blocks. All of our guests staying in the hotel (and there were a lot!) were just gushing about the service. Our top two priorities were to have everyone we wanted at our wedding and to have a raging dance party. Judy and the Sheraton made this possible by preplating our salads, having the toasts and first dances move smoothly along, and arranging tables such that there was tons of room to dance. And we are so grateful for their list of recommended vendors. We worked with Solare and DJ Martika -- WOW! I am exhausted from all the fun we had and we would get married again at the Sheraton in a heartbeat.

    I have to first state that I have not had my wedding reception here, and this is the reason why: Our original wedding date was 6/1/13 but due to a personal situation, we postponed our wedding. Judy was unbelievable to us. She was extremely sensitive and understanding and went as far as to recommend someone who could help us, and not because she was looking to make money from us, but because she truly cared. Fast forward 3 years later and we have a new date set. I immediately e-mailed Judy because I still loved the space and wanted to work with her. Unfortunately, the dates that our church was available did not line up with what was available at the Commander. Judy did everything she could to try and make it work. Although I have yet to be able to use the Commander for events, I would recommend them to anyone because of how above and beyond Judy goes for her clients. She never once made us feel embarrassed about our situation, never pressured us, and never tried taking advantage of us wanting to come back 3 years later.

    The venue was incredible. Judy was stupendous, managed everything with pizzazz, and was generally amazing. There were two snafus we ran into, neither of which were caused by the Sheraton Commander; however, they discovered and rectified them before we were even aware there was a potential problem. It was a lovely venue and a fabulous wedding.

    The Sheraton Commander team is TOP NOTCH! If you want to know that everything will be taken care of, you won't have to worry, and your guests will be treated with the utmost service, then look no further. I was blessed to be chosen as the planner for a couple that got married at the Sheraton Commander. My experience with everyone from the front desk (who helped make sure every guest received their welcome letter) to the catering staff (who moved around furniture with me to make everything fit!) to the events team that made me look so good, was simply incredible! I highly recommend that if you are looking for a classy affair, this is the place.

    I do have to share one comment about Judy who was the main point of contact. Every question, she answered swiftly. Every need, she managed to fill. Every challenge, she handled gracefully. Sometimes, a planner working at a venue that is as seamless as the Commander, can face challenges when doing something that isn't the norm. That did not occur here. The Sheraton Commander TEAM was just that, an extension of me and I, an extension of them.

    We held our wedding reception at the Sheraton Commander in July of 2015. The hotel itself is beautiful and it was a perfect venue for our size (about 100 people). Our guests loved the hotel and the atmosphere in Harvard Square.

    We can't speak highly enough about Judy Brillhart as the event manager and the rest of her team. She was awesome working with us to plan the reception and had great tips that helped us along the way.

    From the beginning Doris and I felt taken care of. The customer service was awesome. Judy's joyful attitude with how she approached her work was so refreshing, and I think kind of rare these days.

    If anyone I know is looking for a hip Boston area location, a classy, intimate venue with a staff that looks to please the couple getting married then I will highly recommend they talk to Judy!

    I had a small wedding ceremony at the Sheraton Commander back in February. Our event coordinator, Judy was so easy to work with and enthusiastic and helpful at every stage. Even when she was unavailable, she was responsive to emails. The venue ended up being exactly what we wanted and needed. Everything was clockwork and flawless. The staff made it seem effortless, and that made our day all the more special.

    There was nothing to complain about. Our wedding was amazing! We literally had nothing but compliments from everyone who attended. I highly recommend this venue and wish we could do it all over again! The service the night of was incredible. I couldn't be more happy with our choice of venue for our wedding.

    The Sheraton Commander was the perfect location for our wedding reception this August! Judy Brillhart and her staff did an amazing job, and Judy was wonderful throughout the entire planning process up through the wedding. Whenever other vendors asked where we were having our reception, and we told them the Sheraton, they told us we were in good hands with Judy – and this was so true! She guided us through the process and was so patient and helpful, answering the smallest questions and giving advice when we asked for it. Judy went out of her way to be helpful at so many points, and we are very grateful for her help. She was a great knowledge base for recommendations for other vendors too. The Sheraton itself is a lovely hotel, and the ballrooms are beautiful. The staff was great, and did a perfect job setting up and even helped us take it down, and our guests loved the food. We had our wedding ceremony in Harvard Memorial Church, so we just walked there and took pictures along the way – you can’t beat the location! My husband and I highly recommend this for your reception location – you truly will be in good hands!

    The Sheraton Commander was the perfect place for my wedding! From the first meeting my husband and I had with Judy Brillhart (our coordinator/event manager), we knew it was the right choice for us. To start, the hotel itself is beautiful. It's smaller than most, but has charm and lots of vintage details and is also modern and sleek.

    I cannot say enough about Judy, we couldn't have done it without her. She was such a huge part of the reason we chose the Commander. Again, from our first meeting, she was kind and easy to talk to while being able to answer any questions we gave her. Throughout the process of planning, she answered all calls/e-mails almost immediately, which made my life a lot easier. Anytime we had any sort of issue or special request, Judy's response would be "Okay, that's not a problem. We can do it." I never stressed about any part of the reception because I knew it was in good hands.

    Every other member of the Commander staff that I (or my family or friends) encountered was just as kind and ready to help. I have to note too that the staff was especially caring towards one of my aunts at my reception who has cerebral palsy and is in a wheelchair. They were attentive to her and made sure she was comfortable throughout the reception, and even gave another aunt (her caretaker) an elevator key to borrow so they wouldn't have to wait for the larger elevator when going to their room.

    Overall, everything was perfect. The spaces are beautiful, everyone raved about the food, and the people are kind. My husband and I could not be happier!

    The service was superb, exemplary! Alexandra Swenson is an amazing event coordinator: skilled, gracious, accommodating, helpful, flexible are all words that describe the experience I had working with her. And, there are many more superlatives to fit the bill. I have held many events at the Commander before this one and will do so again if the occasion presents itself. I am deeply grateful for the wonderful service that made this special birthday party so enjoyable and memorable. Many thanks for being such a terrific resource!

    The wedding was perfect! Absolutely perfect! Judy Brillhart was amazing! No problem too big or question too silly. Judy will made the planning easy. And then when the Big Day arrives you can truly enjoy it knowing she has it covered. The Commander is very elegant. The food was very good. We also had a couple large dinners at the Nubar restaurant where Manager Richard Mann was most helpful. Do not hesitate a minute to book your wedding or any event with Judy and The Commander!

    I cannot recommend the Sheraton Commander enough to any couples looking for a classy, classic, beautiful, and affordable wedding venue.

    Alexandra Swenson was our main event coordinator, and I cannot sing her praises enough. She was so responsive, helpful, and kind. During the planning process, she took care of every little detail and walked through things with me as often as I needed. I am the first of my friends to get married and so I needed a lot of guidance, which Alex expertly provided--from linen color choices to how we should handle the open bar and wine passed at dinner. Now that the wedding is over, I can confirm that every recommendation she gave me was totally spot on.

    At our reception I felt like I didn't have to worry about a thing and I was able to thoroughly enjoy time spent with our guests and time spent on the dance floor. I think it says a lot that Alex and her staff kept things going so smoothly without the groom or I noticing a thing. Also, I was absolutely amazed by the way Alex and her staff transformed the room for our reception. It was like the rooms I had drooled over in bridal magazines!

    The night of our wedding and in the weeks since, we have gotten so many compliments from our guests. They thought the space was gorgeous, they loved the food, they received great service, and they had an awesome time dancing the night away. The guests who stayed in our block of rooms had an excellent experience as well.

    I truly cannot say enough good things about our experience. Everything was perfect and I owe that to Alex and the rest of the Commander staff. I'll definitely be recommending the Sheraton Commander to any friends of mine who get married in the Boston area in the future!

    While I had previously recommended the Sheraton Commander Hotel to numerous friends and colleagues, this was the first time that I had the pleasure of booking an event at the venue. I worked with Judy Brillhart, who was an absolute joy to work with. From beginning to end, she handled every detail with grace and professionalism.

    The event itself was perfect. The room was beautiful, the food outstanding, the service staff attentive and available. As a professional planner, I plan events all the time, but this event was for my family and friends, so it was very important to me that everything went well. And it did. Thank you so much to Judy and her staff.
