  Yes, my name is Shana as well! But I am Shana B. I just signed up with Shana Drake to be my Photographer for my wedding, and I am thrilled to have her as my photographer. I looked through all of the wedding books, websites, and bridal show lists, and she genuinly cared about me and my fiance, and our wedding and that meant a lot to us. I will post again after the wedding, but so far Shana has been great to work with, very knowledgeable about her craft, and seemed to really take the time and attention to answer all of our questions, and not make me feel like I was just another bride booking a vendor. Everytime I have emailed her or called, I have gotten a very prompt response. I feel honored to have her as our photographer, and I know she will photograph our day beautifully. I would reccommend looking into her services, and speaking with her, and you will agree.

  We had an amazing experience with Shana Drake Photography! Shana was always prompt with her timelines on getting pictures back to me, she was very responsive to emails, phone calls, and texts, and was professional through and through! I was overwhelmed with how INCREDIBLE our pictures turned out, but I shouldn’t have been surprised. I did a ton of research before we chose our wedding photographer, and I loved the fact that Shana Drake has 12+ years of experience. Besides being an expert in photography, her experience was SOOO beneficial because she knew a ton of really cool places to go take pictures, she had photographed at our church before, and since she is familiar with our venues she knew the rules of our church, she knew the lighting and how to get the AMAZING shots that other people may not know to get! She was completely flexible to take not only traditional pictures, but to take modern pictures, candid shots, organized shots, item shots. I consider myself particular with the vendors I chose for our wedding, and wanted the best, but like everyone, I wanted a fair price as well. Shana Drake was great about not adding in things that we didn’t want or need, and focused on us as a couple, and delivering to us what truly mattered-AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL, incredibly artistic, and perfectly edited photographs! We had so many compliments about how nice she was to all of our guests, how she didn’t get in the way of any of the ceremony/reception, and now we have our pictures, we are bombarded by questions on who we used for our photographer and how above the bar our wedding photographs are. Shana Drake far exceeds 5 stars, and the categories above do not begin to explain the feelings you get when you get that call that your pictures are ready to view, you open them up, and every single one of thousands blows you away!

  Last summer my fiancé and I were on the hunt for a wedding photographer and we came across Shana Drake. We had very high expectations for the photographer we were going to hire and upon looking at Shana’s website and blog and also meeting with her in person, we knew we had found a rockstar photographer!! We looked at many, many photographer’s websites and it became clear which ones knew their craft, their camera and how to edit photos and which ones did not. Shana does not use gimmicks such as angling her camera, excessive photo filters, and effects in her photography. She takes great shots with awesome depth of field that make you focus on the object at hand. She has an incredible eye for macro shots such as up close shots of details such as our wedding rings and the detailing on my wedding dress. Upon seeing our wedding photos, I was completely amazed by how beautiful the images were. She did a perfect job of capturing our wedding day and the photos are so natural and gorgeous! You can tell she is a true professional and understands what elements are needed for great photographs. She has years of experience in shooting weddings and knows which important shots to get and how to accomplish getting them without getting in the way of wedding guests. She is a sweetheart to work with and was always willing and prompt to answer any questions I had. We are so fortunate to have come across her and will cherish the images for our lifetime!

  During the fall of 2011, Karl and I went to his Cousin Kate’s wedding in Des Moines, Iowa. During the ceremony, I was amazed at how elegantly and gracefully the photographers moved in and out of the guests and were so assertive and active in capturing every moment, both broad and intimate.
  Later on, when we saw the wedding photos, I was in awe and immediately contacted Shana to see if she would do our wedding. I was a little worried, though, because our wedding would be in Iowa City and we had a very strict budget. When we asked Shana, she told us she would be happy to come to Iowa City and I was BEYOND thrilled!! When we told her the package we were looking for, she was so supportive in helping us construct a package that worked for both of us.
  Something that Shana has expressed on her website is that she is captivated by using photos to tell people’s stories. As the bride and groom, this is something that is SO very important. The day goes by so fast and although many people have videographers as well, we were not so fortunate because ours was not able to shoot our wedding at the last minute. One of our guests graciously stood in to do it for us, but due to weak batteries in the camera, etc., much of the wedding was not captured. If Shana and her partner had not done such a beautiful and thorough job the story of our wedding day would have been lost.
  There were hundreds and hundreds of photos to go through and we had so many favorites! Shana has such a great eye for capturing the moments that melt your heart and make you sit back and sigh. Our wedding was eight months ago, but whenever we look at our photos, all of the emotions of the day come flooding back. We know that this reaction will be the same for many years and generations in our family to come. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you SO MUCH Shana Drake for telling our love story!

  After interviewing numerous photographers, Shana was our last photograher to go...we met at Starbucks and INSTANTLY I knew she was the photographer for us! She was incredibly sweet, had impecable pictures and books from previous weddings and was extremely organized! I was in awe of how she was able to capture the 'in the moment' moments as opposed to the boring traditional photos that my husband and I did not want many of!
  
  My husband at the time of our engagement was on call at work 24/7 and Shana was more than accomodating with his schedule! She normally doesn't do shoots on Sundays but fit us into her personal time due to his insane work schedule (and on a 90+ degree day to top it off)! Of course, the sweat was just rolling off of us during our engagement shoot - so much so that she even offered to do another session with us once it got a little cooler. My husband is not very fond of having his pictures taken for numerous hours so his immediate response was, "these will be just fine!" And they were, Shana did an amazing job with the photos and you would never know it was 90+ degrees at 8 a.m. the day of our shoot! Of course after getting our engagement photos back, I could not wait to see what she would capture on our wedding day!
  
  Shana arrived the day of our wedding with the second photographer I so badly wanted and they started snapping away! She was so incredible capturing moments that I didn't even know she was in the room for! During the ceremony and reception, I didn't even notice all of the amazing photos she was capturing. She really did an incredible job keeping us as the focus and not her snapping pictures (which is a huge pet peeve of mine at weddings)! Once we received our wedding day pictures I was overwhelmed with the amount of photos they took, the details they captured and the memories I will never forget!
  
  Shana Drake has an incredible talent, an eye for beautiful moments and a warming personality!

  Probably the second best service of the wedding. (I love my cake) Shana is the most amazing photographer. She is very caring and nice. We had a very bad experience with our first photographer and ended up breaking the contract. Shana always e-mailed me back and listened to what we wanted. I couldn't have wanted anything more in a photographer. The engagement pictures are awesome and I expect nothing less from our wedding pictures.

  On our day Shana absolutely ran the show! She was fantastic with rounding up the little ones for family shots while also making sure the shot was always on point. From the fist engagement shoot throughout our awesome wedding day, she got all the shots while making sure the family was included in every moment. I can't wait to go through all of our pictures again and again, reliving the best day of our lives. Thanks Shana!!

  My husband and I booked Shana for our engagement and wedding pictures. We were able to select the dates of our choice for engagement pictures and went to 2 different locations. We had a great time and were ecstatic to hear that our pictures were done 10 days later!! Shana met us at the site of our wedding a week before the wedding just to get a feel for the scenery since she had never photographed there before. Once again, we loved our pictures and couldn't have been happier with how they turned out!! I have recommended Shana to several of my recently engaged friends and some of them are using her too!! :)

  My husband and I booked Shana for our engagement and wedding pictures. We were able to select the dates of our choice for engagement pictures and went to 2 different locations. We had a great time and were ecstatic to hear that our pictures were done 10 days later!! Shana met us at the site of our wedding a week before the wedding just to get a feel for the scenery since she had never photographed there before. Once again, we loved our pictures and couldn't have been happier with how they turned out!! I have recommended Shana to several of my recently engaged friends and some of them are using her too!! :)

  I hired Shana for our engagement and wedding photographs. My husband did not get the chance to meet with Shana before our engagement shoot, as he lives in Canada. He looked at Shana's website prior to hiring and Shana and was very impressed with her work. After meeting with Shana and seeing her work, I knew she would be the perfect fit for our engagement and wedding photos. We were thrilled with the engagement photos and how quick we got all the photos back! Our wedding photos we were over the moon with! We couldn't imagine having anyone else capturing our day better than Shana. Shana had the hundreds upon hundreds of wedding photos ready in just under 2 weeks after the wedding! We were so excited, and are really having a hard time picking our favorites because they all turned out so amazing. It's great going back and looking through these photos and re living our special day. Shana is easy to talk to, she really listens to what you want for your day, and is eager to help and give ideas of places and poses if needed. I would highly recommend using Shana for not only engagement and wedding photographs but any other photography you may need!

On our wedding day, my husband and myself would have liked more direction as to how to pose and where to pose. We did not feel our wedding photos met our expectations as much as the engagement photos. Also, 180 of our pictures were lost due to a corrupted disk and since then, Shana has replaced her camera to take preventative measures for future brides. This was and still is extremely disappointing to my husband and myself, although Shana did do all that she could to try to recover the images and refunded a portion of our payment to us. Overall we were dissatisfied with our photos and our experience but have no doubts the brides before us in their reviews had positive experiences.
