We received our proofs from our wedding a few weeks ago and I laughed, cried, oohh'ed and aahh'ed at the magical moments Scott captured from our wedding. Scott is not your run-of-the-mill photographer. He really is an artist as his ability to capture people's natural emotions and faces is unparalleled. For us, picking a photographer was one of our most important decisions. I scoured the internet looking at different photography blogs, but kept coming back to Scott's website and incredible and unique photos that he captured at different client's weddings. From the get-go Scott was friendly, informative and flexible. Even after we hired him, my mom came into town from California and wanted to meet Scott (she wanted to feel more involved in the wedding process). Scott kindly obliged, met us for coffee and practically gave my mom the same full-blown presentation he gave to my husband and I before we hired him. It meant so much to my mom and I think it speaks volumes in terms of Scott's professionalism. At the end of the day, Scott provided us with a wonderful selection of proofs (I dont know how we are going to narrow it down to an album!!) that rival the pictures I admired for so many months on his website. If you are looking for a truly talented photojournalist photographer, Scott is your man!

I looked through pages and pages of photographer reviews on Wedding Wire, and website after website of photographers- and I kept coming back to Scott Lewis. I knew what I wanted in my photography- very few 'posed' pictures (just enough to satisfy the parents and grandparents!) - and primarily candid shots that captured moments in time at our wedding. I wanted to be able to look at my photos 10, 20, 50 years from now and remember the exact joy that I was feeling in that moment just by looking at a photograph- and that is what I got with Scott. He took the time to trade various emails with me, since I was planning from out of state. He was also very organized through the whole process, and took the time to chat with me via phone about whatever questions/concerns/requests I had.

Additionally, his unobtrusive photography style was superb- I just reviewed our wedding highlights slideshow, and spent a great deal of time thinking- what the heck?! When did he take that picture?

Above all, the pictures are absolutely stunning- from our engagement pictures to what I've seen of our wedding photos thus far, my husband and I are thrilled that we chose Scott to document our wedding. I cannot recommend him any more highly.

Scott photographer our wedding in Rittenhouse Square and the Sofitel in November. He and his team were wonderful! From moment one, he got us looking our best. We focused on doing candid shots instead of too many portraits but he even made us comfortable with the portrait session as well. We never felt frozen or posed.

And I have to say....going through the photos made us feel like we were reliving the wedding! My Mom teared up and my sisters, husband and I kept saying "that's my favorite picture...no wait the next one is." I don't know how we are going to pick and choose for an album!

The photographs capture the spirit of the evening and of our friends, family and guests and that's hard to do with stills in a world of rampant youtube videso! The photographs are EXACTLY what we wanted.

PS - he's great with the flower girls and ring bearers too!

“This is your day, I’m just here to take pictures. What do you two really want?”

This was one of the first things Scott ever said to my wife and I and when I think back on it, no one else, wedding planners included, asked us such a simple question.

After our first meeting with Scott we both knew that he was someone who was going to do everything in his power to make our photos the very best that he could.

Our wedding was supposed to be an outside wedding at my wife’s family vineyard. However, the rain did not cooperate and we were forced to change almost every plan imaginable 3 hours before the wedding ceremony started. With a smile and a reassuring nod Scott never missed a beat. With his calm demeanor and positive attitude he was able to reduce the stress for the wedding party.

When we had to change the order of the proceedings for the day, fine.

Change venues, perfect.

Change people in this photo or add these people in here real quick, all he said was ‘that’s perfect; not a problem.’

To be perfectly honest, I think I only saw Scott about five times the entire night and when we received the photos from him I realized why. He was able to capture pictures of events that neither my wife nor I even saw, but now can experience because of his pictures. His pictures captured the atmosphere, energy, and emotion of everyone in every picture he took. I do not think that we could have made a better choice for a photographer and would make the same decision if we had to do it all over again.

Your wedding will fly by and after, when you look at your pictures, you want to be able to smile and be happy with your choice of photographer. My wife and I could not be any happier. We are now able to relive our wedding from start to finish anytime we want because of the amazing work that Scott did for us.

My husband and I wanted a photographer who was artistic and unique, who would be able to capture the spirit of our wedding, while also allowing us to feel comfortable and enjoy the day. We got all that and more with Scott Lewis. Scott came highly recommended to us by friends who had hired him for their wedding. Everything they said about Scott was true. From our initial meeting in his studio up to the wedding day, Scott really took the time to get to know us and understand what we wanted from our wedding pictures. He worked with us to create a wedding package that was affordable and included everything we wanted. He had endless patience for my numerous emails and phone calls to brainstorm ideas. He was very responsive and attentive and always made us feel like VIPs. Scott even visited our wedding site with us and talked through our ideas for the ceremony and reception. Also, he is a genuinely nice and fun guy to have around on one of the most nerve wracking days of your life. From getting ready in the hotel room to the end of the reception, he projected a calming effect on everyone around him. Scott was never pointing a camera in our faces and directing us to stand in awkward poses. As a result, the pictures appear natural and spontaneous. They are full of love and emotion, portraying not only how everyone looked, but how they were feeling. We have received so many compliments on Scott’s pictures, and his friendly demeanor, from our family and friends. Numerous people have told me that they’ve never seen wedding pictures likes his before. I would highly recommend Scott to anyone who is looking for an innovative photographer who will capture the emotional and real moments of a wedding and turn them into beautiful art.

I suppose you could say I stalked Scott's work for a while. It was a photo he took capturing a "commuter moment" during the transit strike in Philly a few years back I believe - I felt the defeat and frustration from the image and that's what sparked my interest. Time passed and I followed Scott's work and saw his wedding portfolio grow. When it was time for my now husband and I to interview photographers, my mind was already set. We didn't want traditional wedding photos, nothing contrived, just to be able to look back and FEEL that joy and love again, simply by looking at a photo. Mind you there are no perfect family situations and yes, even weddings can be tested with drama, but that's life. We experienced levels of those emotions and Scott was able to balance his craft with the realities of our life and captured photos that took our breath away. We are proud to say that our hearts smile each and every time we look at our photos.

Scott Lewis is not only an amazing photographer, he has a great personality and is a pleasure to work with. As a self-proclaimed "simple bride" I valued quality without sacrificing my sanity. Scott was always available to answer questions, and was flexible in creating a photography package that suited our needs. On the day of our wedding he arrived early (imagine that) and made my family and friends feel comfortable. Our wedding was a beautiful experience and we are happy that Scott was able to capture our spirit.

Scott is amazing!! He truly is an artist, not just a photographer!! When choosing my wedding photographer, I felt that most wedding photos looked pretty generic, and the difference in quality for the various price points wasn't very discernible to an untrained eye. I didn't want to pay just for more pixels or higher resolution, I wanted someone to capture our spirit, to walk into our wedding, feel us out and just KNOW how we wanted our photos to look. A lot to ask, I know, but Scott Lewis did that and more. His keen eye and imaginativeness helped capture the most precious and valuable moments from our wedding that I believe most photographers miss. Scott truly tells a story in his work and from that we have been able to relive the happiest day of our lives over and over again! On top of that, he is simply the coolest, most calming guy to have around during the most nerve-wracking moments, yet he seems to slip into the shadows at others, all the while capturing every moment. He will really get to know you and it shows in his work. I can't say enough about Scott. You MUST book him for your wedding!!

Scott really jumped in and helped us in a pinch when our original photographer tore his ACL. He is great and knows the flow of the wedding day in and out! I joked that he was my wedding planner too that day!

I absolutely adore Scott. His work went above and beyond! He captured every moment of the day...seriously didn't miss a thing...and he works alone! We had so much trouble picking "the best" picutures for our album that we got 3 huge albums. We have a large family and Scott was quick and efficient in taking the family portraits. Everyone who comes to our home is impressed with all the photos hanging on our walls and they all ask who my photographer was. I have used him several times since our wedding a year ago and am still impressed with how he freezes a moment and somehow is able to make it seem like it was better than you remember it being!

Scott captured the energy and personality of our wedding. Choosing the right photographer was extremely important to me--I was looking for someone that could retell the story of our day and add his (or her) own artistic interpretation. Three months later I still have people coming up to me expressing how much they enjoyed seeing the pictures even though they weren't at the wedding! I feel very confident in recommending Scott to anyone that is seeking a photographer to capture a special occasion that they would be proud of sharing with others! And my husband, who was as skeptical as they come when it came to investing in the right photographer is beaming with pride about the pictures! If you are into tons of posed and corny shots, then look elsewhere. If you want extraordinarily cool photos shot with an artistic flair combined with utmost professional service, you would be hard to do better than Scott Lewis.

If you're looking for photojournalism, Scott Lewis is the person to have. I could not ask for a better wedding photographer. Answered emails and phone calls in a timely manner. The pictures were absolutely amazing. I loved the different angles he used in the wedding photos. Scott gave me a lot of pictures to choose from to make my wedding album. I finally had a chance to sit down several months after getting married to make my album. When I went through the pictures after not seeing them for awhile, I felt like I was re-living the moment. For that reason, I gave Scott 5 stars.

Scott has an amazing ability to capture the story and the emotion of your day. He goes above and beyond what anyone could ever ask of him. Scott was such a joy to work with on our wedding day. He captured all of our joy, nerves, laughter and all of the tiny moments when we didn't know he was watching. Not only are we grateful for his beautiful photographs but for his kindness on our wedding day! We were running more than 1.5 hours late, (Scott was right on time!) and he was such a calming presence - it was nice to have such a grounded pro on hand. Scott was a JOY to work with for me and for my entire vast opinionated, bossy family. Working in the journalism field, I was very particular about the style and feel of the photographs I had in mind for the wedding and after seeing Scott's portfolio I knew we spoke the same language. My husband and I had a big country wedding on a farm with a brass band, festooning flowers and children running around everywhere, and Scott really, truly captured the atmosphere of the day and night. Scott is imperturbable and joyfully flexible: the blazing heat at our outdoor ceremony gave way to an explosive thunderstorm during the reception, and I have this image of him, soaking wet, undeterred, chasing us through the downpour from the swaying tent to our get-away car. The departing shot he got was epic. Thats Scott. He is incredibly professional, responsive and creative but most importantly, he takes damn good pictures which you will cherish long after your wedding dress is dry-cleaned and packed up in that enormous hermetically sealed box.

We truly love our wedding pictures! Scott captured so many real, candid, organic moments that will be with us forever. While it is easy to say that you love your own wedding pictures, Scott's true genius is on display anytime a family member or friend views the pictures. The 1st words out of everyone's mouth are always 'your photography did an amazing job' or simply 'what amazing pictures!' Besides his talent, Scott is a great guy and you will find him to be very easy to work with. We could not have been happier!

Scott Lewis' work is world-class. People and guests raved about my wedding photos! Now, almost 2 years post-wedding, they are still making comments about how our pictures were the most amazing wedding photos they had ever seen. Scott is charming, approachable, funny, subtle in the room, and totally flexible. His work is outstanding and if you are looking for creative, artistic, timeless photos---he's your man. My advice: Out of all the costs involved with wedding planning, the photography should be the splurge in your budget. You get what you pay for with Scott---he's a true professional artist with a natural gift. He was the only photographer we met and we knew instantly, he was the one!

My husband and I knew going into the process that we were looking for a photographer who could provide us with more of a documentary style of photographs, rather than posed portraits and cliche macro shots. It was the emotion and feel of the night that we wanted to remember, rather than the details of our wedding rings or my shoes. Research led us to Scott Lewis; who else to give us documentary-style photographs than a photojournalist! Scott's down-to-earth nature at the first meeting was immediately appealing; his goal is to become a fly on the wall and literally just document however you want to spend your wedding day. We were skeptical at first that he could do the job we wanted with just one person (why do all the other photographers tell you they need two shooters?), but on the day of the wedding he managed to be everywhere at once. We got our photos back, and found ourselves asking "how did he get both of these shots only seconds apart?" For all of the running around that he must have been doing to get the different angles, he remained completely unobtrusive to us and our guests. I barely remember seeing him all night, but his photos prove that he was right in the thick of things, from the ceremony to the dance floor! For those who appreciate good photography, he is a master of working with the light. Don't hire Scott if you are looking for lots of formal posed portraits or "special effect" photos. I'm sure he could pull them off well, but his real strength is in his ability to capture moments of emotion in a candid setting.

“I, my husband, my family, my relatives, and all of my friends, including my make-up artist and hair stylist, were SO impressed with Scott's photography skills when they saw my wedding photos. (So impressed that my hair stylist is now using one of the photos for his advertisement!) I have gotten numerous comments from friends such as, "These should be in a wedding magazine!" There is no doubt that Scott is a true artist. Additionally, I think Scott provides good value. When hunting for photographers in the Philadelphia area, his prices were on the moderate side (not cheap but there were others that I looked at that were more expensive), and now seeing for myself the quality photos he produces, I am convinced the value is great. I would recommend his work any day if you like his style--unique, realistic, and artistic. I would also recommend, if using him for a wedding, that you limit the amount of "portraits" you ask him to take. He's so good with the candid shots (you don't even notice he's around) that you don't really need to stage a darn a thing! Thanks again, Scott, for your work.”

We loved our photos. Everyone said that they could feel how happy we were and how much fun we were having at the wedding through the photos. Scott Lewis was great. He was very down to earth and we were comfortable with him from the start. We though that was very important when choosing our photographer. It poured at our wedding so we had to move pictures inside and he did a great job of organizing the "posed" family shoots. But 99% of the other photos were natural and we barely knew he was there, which we LOVED. We still have yet to order an album, but we have no regrets with our selection of Scott Lewis.
