Simply incredible

They say to always invest in a great wedding photographer because the day is a blur, and wow are we glad we hired T.J. As we sit here looking through the photos from our wedding a few weeks ago, we're absolutely blown away! Every perfect moment, perfectly captured. The experience with T.J. and his second shooter was awesome too. He was very easy to work with and made us feel so comfortable during both engagement and wedding photos. He seemed to always be in the perfect spot, and now we have so many amazing memories that we'll be able to cherish forever. We cannot thank you enough T.J. Amazing!!

Amazing Wedding Photos

T.J. is an absolutely amazing photographer! He photographed our rehearsal dinner and our wedding out in Napa and the pictures are stunning. Not only was he great to work with, but our guests couldn't get over at how professional and relaxed he was throughout the wedding day. The way he captures lighting and posed us for our wedding photos, I can't stop staring at them. Sharing the photos with family and friends, we are getting so many compliments on them. T.J. even captured great photos of my young nieces and nephews who are very hard to photograph. I would 100% work with him again and am finding it so hard to choose which photos to use for my wedding album because they are all so beautiful. Thank you T.J.!

Amazing photographer!

TJ’s work speaks for itself - he is an incredibly talented photographer. My husband and I were initially drawn to him because of the way he is able to capture emotions and add a unique, artistic touch to his photos. We were equally impressed by the way he made us feel so comfortable, his flexibility and his creativity from our engagement shoot to our wedding day. We had a big wedding day - with three venues - one where we got ready, one for the first ceremony and another for the second ceremony and reception. We also had three outfits for the day and wanted photographs in all of them. TJ never missed a beat. He and his assistants were there to photograph every moment, whether it was getting ready, our first look, moments throughout the ceremonies, reception and everything in between. Despite the many moving pieces and tight timeline, TJ always had a smile on his face and was ready for anything. Our second ceremony ran late and he still managed to sneak in some gorgeous sunset photos. He even had us hop into his car to drive to an area of the winery that we had said we wanted photos in right before our reception. His ability to shuffle around photo opportunities to adapt to unexpected changes in our timeline was so helpful and let us focus on being in the moment and not thinking about what happened with our planned photos sets. We got all of the photos we could have ever wanted (and more). TJ was one of the highlights of our wedding and we will forever remember our wedding day through his amazing work.

Amazing Person and Photographer

We never thought we would have a chance to work with TJ! He was a dream photographer. He was with us the whole process and his work was really one of a kind. He caught moments that we did not even notice we had. He truly cares and has a talent that stands out against the rest.

TJ is the best! We chose him because he is amazing with light and takes beautiful and warm pictures. However, the added bonus is he is fun to work with. It really felt like he wanted to understand us as a couple in order to shoot our wedding. Everyone at our event really enjoyed him. Also, I never felt like he was checking the time - he flowed with the event and captured truly helped us to capture every meaningful moment.

TJ was kind and professional, and really helped ease what could at times be a bit of an uncomfortable moment, posing for wedding photos! He has a eye for beautiful scenery and went above and beyond to travel when we had a last-minute change of venue due to the Napa and Sonoma wildfires. I would highly recommend him for your wedding or event.

We first met TJ when he photographed my sister's wedding. When we got engaged, we knew we wanted him at ours. Gorgeous photographs and a wonderful personality; what more can you ask for?

My Husband and I are beyond pleased with how our wedding photos turned out. T.J. was very professional and took the time to understand what we wanted for our photos. I highly recommend T.J. Salesman to anyone looking for a photographer in the Nor Cal region, especially in Napa! T.J. was so patient and so pleasant to work with, he made it easy. Our wedding album is AMAZING! From the moment I found T.J. on weddingwire, I knew he was the perfect photographer for our wedding. I have worked in the event industry for over ten years, and I had high expectations for my wedding day. I was immediately drawn to his photography portfolio and his overall style. On our initial call, T.J. walked me through what to expect. He has more of a documentary/photo-journalistic style which is what I preferred instead of having everything so posed. On the day of our wedding, he arrived early and surveyed the area to make sure he noted all of the photo opportunities. We had a rather large bridal party, and he was able to captivate everyone's attention to ensure we had time for the photos we wanted. The best part about our day is we had about two hours between our ceremony and our reception, and we were able to go off-site to take some personal photographs of just my husband and I. T.J. went above and beyond and scouted out the most picturesque backdrops of Napa Valley with sprawling vineyards. I will always treasure that time because it was a moment for my husband and I to enjoy alone after our ceremony in such an incredible scenery.

The final photographs were more than what I could dream of, and they have filled us with so many wonderful memories.
T.J. was able to capture the moments that meant the most to us and all of his photos have so much depth and heart. He is so kind, thoughtful, and easy going. It was truly a pleasure working with him.

TJ is the best!! I planned my Napa valley wedding from Pennsylvania and couldn't have done it without him! I was looking online for venues and photographers and found his work online. I contacted him immediately. He did incredible work and created the most beautiful pictures! He also recommended hair, makeup, and pastoral services. Everything turned out perfectly! You won't be disappointed!

T.J. is an absolutely incredible photographer! We had narrowed down our search to 5 photographers in the area with the wedding planner--and then without letting my mom or fiance know which photographer I had picked...I showed them 5 portfolios and we all picked TJ as the clear winner. His photos are artistic without being cheesy, and incorporate the natural surroundings that we all love in the greater Napa/Sonoma area. It was everything we had ask for--with a great personality on top of it! He makes you feel completely at ease while he is working his magic.

TJ was an awesome photographer! He is not afraid to get down and get dirty, literally - even laying on the ground to get the best shot! We couldnt be more pleased with the photos from our elopement in Napa. We were married in a beautiful vineyard and TJ was able to capture so many moments throughout our day. He did a great job making us both feel comfortable and photo worthy ;-) and the photos and quality of them are magazine ad worthy!! Just gorgeous!

Our experience could not have been better and our photos could not be more beautiful. Tj always went above and beyond and fulfilled every request we made. He even spent a day with us at our venue prior to our wedding to get familiar with photo locations.

My husband and I were married at The Groezinger Estate in Yountville on October 3, 2015 and we hired T.J. Salsman to take both our engagement and our wedding photos. TJ was wonderful to work with from beginning to end and my husband and I were over the moon about our photos. TJ made my husband and I feel more than comfortable in what could have been an awkward engagement photo session, as neither of us felt completely comfortable posing. TJ had us laughing throughout the entire session and you can see us smiling and dancing in all of our photos! They're perfect.

TJ captured our wedding day in the most fantastic and gorgeous way, as well. There are amazing posed and candid shots from every moment of our day and we were ecstatic when we received our final pictures. I wanted to also note that my father contacted TJ after our wedding to ask if it was at all possible to have my grandfather photoshopped into a group family photo that was taken, as he unfortunately passed away prior to my wedding, and TJ happily obliged. This act of kindness was completely above and beyond anything that TJ was obligated to do, and the resulting photo meant the world to my entire family. I highly recommend TJ to brides and/or grooms seeking a photographer! :)

My husband and I are not "let's take picture people"! So we were very uncomfortable talking multiple pictures. I have to say TJ really made us feel comfortable and the pictures really do reflect us. He really took time to understand who we are and what kinda pictures we wanted! We purchased a package that came with engagement photos. Tj came out to our fav location( where we had our first date and where my husband proposed) which was at least 30 minutes from his home! On the day of the wedding he was early and left late, he captured every moment perfectly. Our picture came out so good, beyond what I could have ever imagined. They are like pieces of art! A plus was that he has a assistant with him so nothing missed. TJ also was my brothers photographer for his wedding. We all look at our photos a all the time. Worth every dollar! I can't wait to work with him again!

There are so many great things to say about Tj, I don't even know where to start. Upon meeting him you will instantly feel how genuine he is. He was such a pleasure to work with and customized a package just for our needs. His talent speaks for itself and the quality of pictures you see in his portfolio is definitely what you can expect from your own event with him which is nothing less than the best. And of course, he is very professional. Tj is worth every cent (which by the way, he has great prices) and I would hire him again in a heartbeat. TJ was recommended to us by our wedding planner and we are so happy that we found him! A year and a half ago we went out to Napa to plan our event and met TJ for the first time to do our engagement photos. We had SO much fun with him and ended up with some fantastic photos. After that we couldn't wait for him to photograph our wedding. When the day finally came he was so attentive and accommodating to my requests for certain types of pictures. My friends and family gelled with him so well and couldn't stop talking about how wonderful he was to have around. We got our sneak peek of pictures from the day and they were breathtaking and I can't wait to see the rest. I highly recommend using TJ as your photographer for your wedding day. He is on Facebook and Instagram if you want to see some of his work, you will be blown away I assure you of that!

TJ did a phenomenal job photographing our wedding! He was friendly and professional. He did a great job of capturing all the special moments. We were able to meet with him a few months prior to the wedding. He took the time to get to know us and at that initial meeting he took some engagement photos as well. TJ was able to be at our rehearsal dinner, as well as before the wedding, during the ceremony, and late into the reception. TJ listened to our photo requests and also suggested and guided us to capture experiences we would never have thought of. We couldn't be happier with the final photos - it was as if we were reliving all of the special moments that occurred on our day!

All I can say is WOW!
T.J. was the photographer for our son's Napa Valley wedding at Charles Krug Winery
and he did an exceptional job.
He was patient, professional, and just a great guy to work with!
He put together a beautiful wedding book for our family with a gorgeous design and layout of our favorite pictures and had it delivered in time for Christmas even though

During a celebratory birthday trip to Napa, my husband surprised me with the best gift of all- a session with TJ Salsman Photography! Being a professional photographer myself, I have long been in love with his natural posing, gorgeous use of light & the way that he effortlessly captures pure love. He was prompt & responsive which made booking a breeze and when we arrived at our session it was like hanging out with an old friend. We had a fabulous time laughing and playing and just spending some time enjoying a wine country sunset. Then we got our images back. My jaw dropped and tears of joy streamed down my face. Those moments laughing with my husband and leaning on his shoulder during a gorgeous sunset... they were all there. Many where I didn't even know that TJ was shooting. He captured us. Just as we are. I knew that he was talented, highly sought after & pretty much a photography legend. But nothing could have prepared me for the final product which literally took my breath away. Friends come over and usually the first thing that they comment on is the giant TJ Salsman print on the wall. If you are looking for a photographer please don't waste your time looking any further. You have found him. He is worth every cent and more and will treat you like family. He is the one that us photographers trust with our cherished memories and time. To say that TJ is awesome would be a huge understatement! His work is incredible, his personality is fun to work with, he's extremely talented and very humble. I had high hopes for our pictures and each one that he shot far exceeded my expectations. He blended in with the ceremony and got the most amazing shots and angles, I didn't even know he was there most of the time. I can’t say enough wonderful things about TJ. I contacted him through his website and he promptly returned my call. We talked at length about what I was hoping to achieve. I appreciated that he was in no rush to make a quick sale and patiently described his approach and answered all my questions. At the photo session, TJ was equally patient (and funny!) with my nutty family. We were a challenging group of 14 – from people who tired easily (old & young) to those who had a hard time focusing… TJ was in control without being bossy, and made the whole experience fun for everyone. The photos of the day are even better than my wedding photos (if only I knew TJ 5 years ago). I can’t believe he captured so many great shots in the short period we had him. I highly recommend TJ for two reasons – you will end up with fantastic photos and you will also enjoy his whole photography experience. What a great photographer and a great guy. You can’t go wrong with him.

I was familiar with TJ's work prior to hiring him to do my wedding, so I knew I was going to love the photos he did for us. I was not disappointed; he actually exceeded my expectations! He is able to capture candid moments where you can feel the emotion when you look at the picture, as well as take portraits where the placement and lighting are perfect. As long as TJ is taking photo's, he will be my professional photographer.

I am so happy to have found T.J to document our small destination elopement in pictures. The photos are truly awesome and exceeded my expectations by far. He captured the mood of the day perfectly and transformed my vision of the wedding day into images I want to look at again and again. T.J was very professional and responsive from the time I contacted him the first time to the moment we met at our wedding day. He got the eye to find the perfect location in a bliss just minutes after he arrived, made us feel very comfortable during the shoot and was a joy to work with. We can't thank T.J. enough for the incredible pictures we have of our wedding day. He is a true artist. He met with us at our site before the wedding and took the time to get to know us and shared with us his ideas for the photographs. His ideas floored us!! Planning a engagement from Afghanistan in a location that Ive never been was a daunting task but T.J. made it perfect. On his own accord he offered to go by different engagement locations, take photos of possbile sites at each location and send them to me for review. Once we came up with a location, T.J met up with the event coordinator and they finalized the plans! He responded to all of my emails and answered my questions in a timely fashion. On top of that, the photos came out awesome and he has a real vision for capturing that special moment! I would recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer whether it be near or far. I feel incredibly lucky to have found TJ to photograph my wedding. His demeanor is so easy-going that he fit in with my family immediately and was able to capture some wonderful, candid moments because he made everyone feel so comfortable.

As the bride, he treated me like the most important and beautiful person in the world (which is how all brides want to feel on their wedding day!). He was never intrusive, but somehow managed to be everywhere at once, getting gorgeous photos and utilizing natural lighting to achieve the most stunning shots. My collection of wedding photos is exactly what I had hoped for; stunning reminders of a wonderful celebration with friends and family. I love looking through them, again and again, to see little bits of the event that I missed, and the 'details' photos that immortalized all of my DIY efforts.

TJ is quickly becoming known as one of the best photographers in the Valley. As a professional Event Planner, I have added TJ to the top of my preferred vendors list and recommend him highly to anyone in need of an amazing photographer. He is a gem and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with him! My husband and I are expecting our first baby this summer, and TJ will be doing our belly shots and first family photos. A friend referred TJ to us for our wedding and I am so glad that she did!! From our first phone call with us he took the time to explain the process and answer any and all questions that I had and followed up with me the next week to see if I need anything else.

When it came time for our engagement photos he listened to our suggestions to create amazing photos that both of us absolutely loved. I am a little shy with the camera and he captured both of our personalities and you could see our feeling's/love for each other in his pictures.

On our Wedding Day he was so patient with our family pictures (we both have huge families) and took the time to be creative in our bride and groom portraits. All the little details that I had incorporated into our wedding were photographed along with all the special people in my life. He truly captured every special moment from our day!!

T.J. Salsman was everything we wanted and more in a photographer. Our first meeting with T.J. was perfect. He was so down to earth and really made us feel special. We chatted over wine and pizza (his treat) and got to know eachother and what to expect for our big day. Along with our wedding package, we recieved a complimentary engagement session that was so much fun and the pictures turned out amazing. Before our wedding I was stressed out and just wanted a break from anything wedding related. I kid you not, later that day we recieved a little card from T.J. and a starbucks gc to go out and have coffee and a break from wedding talk. This guy is good! Like every wedding day, ours was a whirlwind. Somehow, T.J. captured the most amazing photos that we will treasure for our whole lives. TJ was awesome to work with! Our photos came out beautifully. I love them so much! He was able to capture the magic of our wedding despite all the issues we had to work around. Our flight was delayed by 4 hours, pushing our rehearsal back a lot. He showed up for our rehearsal, even though he didn't need to. On our wedding day, he was able to adjust and work through catastrophe after catastrophe, and was friendly and patient through it all. It rained on our wedding day and changed our plans for an outdoor wedding completely. As the bride, I almost had a breakdown, but he never missed a beat. We got our photos very quickly and the quality was top notch. Thank you TJ for preserving our special day.

We really can't even put a 4 star rating on any of these categories .T.J. was so personable, down to earth, and very efficient. We were married on a private vineyard, and T.J. was kind enough to drive us up to the location. I mean, what photographer does that? He took beautiful photo's, and captured the ceremony, exactly as we saw it. He offered us a slide show, playing our wedding song, and had it made in less than a week 1/2 for our reception back in Milwaukee. If you want to trust a photographer, and not have the stress of wondering what you're going to end up with, go with T.J. He truly lets you focus on your day. We are very lucky to have had him!!

T.J. was a godsend for our wedding. He was thoughtful in our pre-planning about the types of photographs we wanted, and he checked out all locations ahead of time. He even came to the rehearsal and took some great shots.

The morning of the wedding, he joined us girls at the house while we got ready. He was comfortable around our family, and he tirelessly captured every moment possible. He also had an assistant who photographed the men during the getting ready stages.

At the ceremony, we barely noticed T.J. was there, but he got some amazing shots. He had taken the time to establish a relationship with our priest, and they had an understanding about how the ceremony would flow. After the ceremony, just my husband and I went to another location to get some portraits. It was the most gorgeous Fall day, and T.J. found every opportunity possible to capture a beautiful shot.

Our reception was a great party, and T.J. and his assistant, Sara, I am happy to say felt a part of the fun! They had a great time, and in doing so, they took some fantastic photos that really capture the joy of our reception.

T.J. did a beautiful, thorough job, and I would recommend him to anyone!

T.J. was a pleasure to work with prior to, and during my husband's 50th birthday party held at a Napa restaurant.
The photo taking was subtle as not to intrude on the party, but also flexible when someone wanted a specific photo taken.
The candid photos were priceless! So much fun!
The turn around time on the album was in a timely manor, and the CD video was fantastic.

My husband and I could not be more impressed with TJ's talent and professionalism. We didn't get the chance to meet him until the day of our wedding, but after being introduced, we immediately felt comfortable and excited to work with him. He truly captured the intimate and romantic feel of our private Napa Valley Wedding. Our emotions and feelings were powerfully portrayed in each image. After the wedding, he was able to send us our digital negatives within 2-3 weeks. He also included a beautifully done video slideshow of our images to a song that exemplified our personalities. My husband and I hired T.J. to take our wedding photos in 2009. I had worked with T.J. for almost 10 years at The State Journal-Register in Springfield, Ill., when he was a photographer for that newspaper. TJ was a fantastic photographer! I couldn't have asked for a more professional, more talented man to photograph my special day. He is lighthearted, flexible and has a great sense of humor. He was comfortable with my family and friends, and in turn, made us feel completely comfortable, thus making our pictures so real and intimate. He captured the most important moments of our day. TJ Salsman is the consummate professional. While I had to deal with some other vendors that left me nervous and anxious, every interaction with TJ was stress free and informative. He served as a psedo coordinator as we found ourselves more reliant upon him than our venue coordinator!
