Excellent Ceremony Musician
Robert was excellent. He learned a song for our wedding and had a good catalogue of others to use leading up to our ceremony. He was timely, professional, friendly and attentive to what our ceremony required. We could not have asked for more. -

Setting the Romantic Atmosphere
Robert McCloy played at our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour as part of a beautiful violin and guitar duo, and they were absolutely wonderful. The music created such an elegant and romantic atmosphere, and we had so many guests mention how lovely it was to have live strings during those moments. Robert was professional, easy to work with, and incredibly talented. We couldn’t have asked for a better musical backdrop for our day—highly recommend! -

Incredible Musician!!
Robert was truly amazing to work with and went above and beyond from start to finish. We met early on to plan the event and again closer to the date to go over all the details his care and professionalism showed every step of the way. He and the other musicians made our wedding so special. All of our guests couldn’t stop talking about how incredible the band was and how it added the perfect touch of flair to the day. Robert truly brought my vision to life from the elegant ceremony to the lively cocktail hour even teaming up with our DJ to keep the energy high throughout the reception. Would absolutely hire him again in a heartbeat! He also taught me more about music along the way and knew exactly what I was looking for! -

Low-stress, easy, friendly, talented, accommodating
Robert & his group are an easy decision to make.
They came early to set up with a quick overview, were flexible to plans, accommodated moving their location to multiple places around our venue, even composed a cover and learned a specific song that we requested. Communication was flawless.
Rob and the band added the perfect atmosphere to our event, and made it easy to do so. -

Scottish wedding
Robert actually found us through Zola, and he was perfectly timed since we were looking for live music for the ceremony and cocktail hour. He was incredible! Super flexible with our theme and the casual feel of our wedding. My guests adored him. -

Last minute wedding for a friend
I would highly recommend Robert! He didn't have much notice, as our friends daughter was quickly getting married before her now husband left for the military. Robert was professional, easy going and had excellent musical recommendations. We will definitely use him again!! -

Truly wonderful for our garden wedding!
We had an outdoor garden wedding, and Robert was on time played the perfect music for our daughters wedding, and the recessional was perfect. He had some suggestions that were spot on for our special day. I have 5 daughters, I will definitely be calling him again -

Worth Every Penny.
This was one of the best desicions we made for our wedding, hands down. We booked 5 hours for our wedding. He was absolutely fantastic about our song requests, figuring out the timing of our ceremony, working out all the little details and special arrangements. The music was the finishing touch that really pulled together all the aspects of our wedding. We were absolutely thrilled. -

Robert played for the ceremony and cocktail hour at my wedding. He was highly recommended by the event coordinator at the English Inn and he did not disappoint. Robert played a special request for the wedding party's procession and did a fantastic job! Accommodated unusual playlist and made our wedding a success!
Robert was very punctual, professional, and flexible and helped make our ceremony a success!
We got married during the Covid pandemic, so our plans changed several times and Robert was very flexible and accommodating.
We had an untraditional wedding and requested many unconventional and unique songs. Despite the unusual playlist, Robert played all the songs beautifully.
In the cocktail hour after the ceremony, everyone was raving about the music and even now, weeks later, we're still hearing compliments about the guitarist.

Robert is a talented guitarist and our experience hiring him for our wedding day was wonderful.
Robert was amazing to work with and was the ideal musician for our wedding ceremony. He was accommodating for our wedding in the middle of the woods with a battery powered amp. as well as mic for our officiant. Wonderful music for wedding and cocktail hour
Robert was a joy to work with on the music for my son's wedding ceremony and cocktail hour at the Inn at Bay Harbor. He was easy to communicate with, responsive and professional in all of his communication with us. Robert was also extremely flexible, as the date changed three times, due to Covid. He worked well with the couple in selecting the music and was prompt and professional on their special day. I definitely recommend him for any special occasion! -

We found Robert through our wedding planner and decided on a guitar/violin duo for our ceremony and cocktail hour. It was the best decision ever! Robert was an absolutely joy to work with throughout- he was very flexible when we had to postpone our wedding due to COVID, made a unique arrangement for our processional, and went above and beyond to accompany some of my bridesmaids in singing a song during our ceremony. Beautiful music and very flexible!
I found Robert in the beginning of my wedding vendor search after we knew we wanted a musician to play during the ceremony. From the very beginning he was very responsive and professional. After we had to change dates for our wedding due to covid, Robert could not have been easier and more flexible to work with during such a difficult time for us. Flash forward to the weeks leading up to our wedding, Robert couldn't have been easier to work. He focused on attention to detail for our ceremony schedule and where music would fit in best. He took requests for him and the violinist to practice on for cocktail hour, and was extremely punctual when it came to our timeline. If you are looking for a musician for a wedding or other event - definitely give him a high consideration. -

Awesome guitarist for any event!
Robert was very easy to work with and we loved his music! Due to COVID rescheduling, we gave him short notice and he was very flexible in scheduling. He was open to many different music requests that fit in seamlessly with our ceremony and cocktail hour. He has all of his own audio equipment which made it so easy to work into our outdoor wedding. An idyllic ceremony musician!
Robert was exactly what we were seeking for a ceremony musician. We had an intimate outdoor ceremony and him playing the guitar was the perfect backdrop.
Throughout the entire process, Robert was extremely responsive and very accommodating. I had envisioned a mix of Disney love songs for the processional and when I saw that Robert already had this medley created, I was sold!
As a 2020 couple, we faced the unique circumstances that COVID brought to our wedding and had to change our date multiple times. Robert was always ready to accommodate the new date when possible and quickly communicated dates that he was already booked which made it easy every time we had to replan our wedding date.
I'd highly recommend Robert to any couple who wants romantic music and a professional experience. -

Robert was a great addition to our day! I hired Robert for cocktail hour and our guests raved about him! Robert was responsive, flexible and so kind. I am so happy I found Robert to play for my daughter’s wedding. She wanted a more casual vibe for her ceremony and celebration and Robert’s solo guitar music was absolutely perfect. Robert responded quickly to my emails. My daughter had to reschedule her wedding due to Covid 19 and Robert accommodated us without hesitation. My guests commented on how great he played and also loved his playlist. As Mother of the Bride I appreciated how easy he was to work with. I Never had one worry about the music once I hired Robert. You cannot go wrong with this group. They played for our son's wedding/reception and were exactly what we hoped for. Not only were they accomplished/professional at their craft, but extremely helpful/flexible in helping us replan a ceremony/reception that was originally planned as outdoors that needed to be reimagined re-time when the weather turned on us. The experience honestly felt like we were dealing with committed family members. I can not recommend them more highly and wish they were closer to my home so I we could hire them more often. -

Absolutely Flawless
Robert McCloy was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding. We knew we wanted a ceremony accompanied by acoustic guitar, and wow—he more than delivered! We asked him to prepare pieces using tabs we found online, and he not only prepared them, but executed flawlessly. Our wedding ceremony music was a dream come true, and we're so grateful to the part that Robert played in our special day. Wonderful musician

Violin/guitar ceremony success
Robert in his guitar and his companion violinist serenaded my guests before my wedding ceremony and played perfectly for our processional and recessional. Brilliant and Professional
Robert and his fellow musicians played a vast library of fun and whimsical traditional and unexpected Celtic tunes for my wedding and wedding reception. I am a musician and event planner and was completely impressed by their professionalism, talent, and ease for adapting to any situation. One of the biggest comments I've received from guests was how wonderful the music was and as the bride they created the perfect atmosphere of charm and fun for my perfect wedding. Robert was the musician for our wedding and I could not have been happier with his service. He played at the ceremony and also during cocktail hour at the reception. He did an amazing job and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. Wow! Not only did Stringtown Trio's beautiful music make our ceremony feel special and unique, they saved the ceremony! The day of the wedding, our caterers sound system wasn't working - cue panic! - Robert provided microphones and hooked up our officiant's microphone to their own sound system. Their prices were very reasonable and they even added on an hour of cocktail music for a discount! Robert was extremely responsive and worked with us every step of the way. Stringtown Trio provided a wonderful experience for our wedding. We had the ceremony outside on the beach. The band arrived early and figured out everything they needed to start playing right on queue. Our crowd loved the music, and walking out to a live band was an unforgettable experience. We asked them to move to two more locations for the cocktail hour and the reception, which the Trio did effortlessly. People were dancing, the mood was merry, and as a busy bride and groom we didn't have to solve anything for the band, they solved it for us! I loved the vibe, and would hire again immediately for our next big gathering. -

While on phone call, Robert quickly queued up music to show that he could learn the music without challenge. In a few hours later, he emailed me an audio clip of the two instruments playing the requested music. I was immediately impressed and relieved that he removed the uncertainty of the music. We were thoroughly pleased with this stringed duet. -

Robert just recently performed at our wedding in Traverse City and we were thrilled with Robert all around. He learned the songs we wanted to hear during our ceremony and the music he played truly set a beautiful background for our ceremony and our cocktail hour. Don't even think twice. Robert's performance not only added sophistication to the event, it practically set the mood for a wonderfully romantic celebration. Robert's versatility enables certain portions of the evening to switch moods. For example, we needed to pay tribute to the memories of our departed loved ones so that Robert was able to play a very solemn selection. Robert performs best when he is empowered to play selections that he is most comfortable and familiar with. I highly recommend him. -

Robert was very quick to respond to emails and was willing to learn a new song for our wedding ceremony. He arrived early and stayed throughout the entire ceremony. We really liked his wireless audio system. He is an excellent guitar player! -

I would definitely recommend Robert McCloy if you are looking for an excellent acoustic guitarist for your wedding. He was on time, extremely professional, and very easy to work with. He really knows what he is doing. During our hymns, we all messed up the rhythms when singing, so I was highly impressed when Robert quickly adjusted his playing to our mistake! He truly is the best! -

Weddings are stressful and full of indecision, at least mine was, but choosing Robert McCloy to play our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception (he was accompanied by two additional musicians to form a jazz trio for the reception who were also FANTASTIC!), was the best decision we made in planning our special day. Robert made the music component for the evening as stressless as humanly possible, even when I asked him to play a special request 48 hours before the event. He was accommodating to everything I asked or wanted, and his quick responsiveness made my husband and I entirely at east through the booking process.
Anyone considering booking Robert should know they are in good hands with an experienced and talented professional who knows how to make a special night truly wonderful. -

Listen to his music on his website, he has a lot of samples. He plays lots of great tunes. I knew my crowd would love all the Beatles tunes. Also, my daughter and her college friends loved the Michigan State fight song, and Robert evened it up by playing the Michigan song for my new son-in-law. Robert was able to play the music we requested for the ceremony, and then he played on the patio during cocktail hour. He was great--totally enjoyed him! -

Robert and the Stringtown Trio did an amazing job at my wedding. He worked out multiple special requests in advance. The two sets that the trio played were exactly what we asked of them.
