User1300406 Sent on 08/24/2013We loved our wedding on the Riverside Verandah at the Courtyard Marriott! The verandah was absolutely beautiful and the weather was perfect! Charlotte their coordinator was great to work with and she definitely kept me on track with getting things planned. I loved working with her and she made our day run smooth which gave me a chance to just enjoy every moment! The rest of the hotel staff was also very pleasant and great to work with. The hotel itself was supposed to go through a remodel prior to our wedding which did not happen in time so we were a little disappointed. However since the wedding took place outside it didn't matter as much. When they do eventually get the remodel done it will be an even better venue. Just needs a little updating! Another perk to this venue is its location. It is very close to the airport and right off of I-5 which was great for out of town guests. We had a large portion coming in from out of town so it was great that they could take the hotel shuttle over and then have to worry about driving. Also some of our local friends and family rented rooms so they did not have to worry about driving home and could enjoy themselves at our reception. Overall this is a great outdoor venue and once they get their remodel done and some things updated it will be even better! -

Nicole Sent on 10/20/2013It was amazing to have the wedding coordinator there to help with all the planning we didn't think of. The clean up was so nice to have, that's something you don't want to think of when you're trying to enjoy your day. They had decorations around the hotel veranda so it didn't look empty. The fountain and gazebo was so romantic to have. -

Karen Sent on 08/12/2011I do not even know where to start praising this venue. First off, they offer varied packages to suit almost any budget. My husband and I searched many out-door venues and feel that this one offered so much more than the others. Not to mention, it’s a huge and gorgeous patio with gorgeous views. I booked this venue over a year ago and I’ve been through two event coordinators in that time. The most recent one quit but I was not concerned as the hotel manager, Tim Bathke, also a Certified Wedding Planner, assumed the role with such professionalism and flair. Tim helped me and my family to make what I feel, in my biased opinion, one of the most beautiful outdoor weddings ever. He responded to my emails promptly and provided a wealth of knowledge. On the day of, he helped us adhere to the timeline and kept everything running smoothly. One of the other best things about this venue is that it’s a hotel that is close to the airport. Our guests could book a room at a discounted rate and they offered shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. Again, I cannot praise this venue enough! Our wedding day was absolutely beautiful and I highly, highly recommend this site as a wedding venue!Courtyard Portland North's reply:

User950596 Sent on 09/27/2012My overall experience was pretty good . Charlotte was very easy to work with and she was very good at answering all my questions. There was some issues that came up during the wedding and some mistakes having to do with our bill but for the most part I was happy with my experience working with this venue. -

User1740682 Sent on 07/30/2014My husband and I didn't have a lot of money to throw a wedding for family and friends coming from all over the country so we wanted to have something close to the airport with affordable accommodations. Overall I was not particularly happy with the inside of the hotel as they were supposed to renovate before my wedding and later told us it wouldn't happen by the date they promised so that was a bit disappointing. Our wedding coordinator wasn't that great, but she was fine to work with. This was a good option for the price but the accommodations could have been better.

Krisha Sent on 07/29/2010It is hard for me to write this review. When I booked my event here the hotel wedding coordinator was amazing, she was the main reason why I booked my event. Well sad to say before my wedding she left. She accepted another position somewhere else. About two weeks before my wedding the Marriott hired her replacement. I wasn't impresses at all with the new hire, but what was I too do, what's done is done. This new lady didn’t listen to what I wanted and kept saying "typically it is done this way". My thought is this is my wedding not your typical wedding. I had told my wedding party to basically just ignore her and listen to me or my husband. We had everything planned out the way we wanted it. More or less this woman was just in the way. An issue came up in the middle of the reception which was in error of the wedding coordinator. I got the manager involved and he was great and handled this situation in a very professional manner and did what he had to do to make it right. I do have to say the price for our wedding package was very reasonable, the food was excellent, the courtyard was decorated beautifully. I have to say my review is based on the coordinator. If weren’t for her my review would be way different. I did hear that she is no longer working there. I just hope they take more time to fill the very big shoes left from their previous coordinator. She was great!!! -
User2209000 Sent on 07/02/2015My sister married at this venue in September 2013. Multiple rooms were mixed up, my sister's honeymoon suite was switched with another couple. The day of the wedding there was broken glass that people in our party were told to clean up instead of the staff. Again, we were told that we would have help setting up the wedding from some staff, but instead my Mother and I after having make-up, hair and our full outfits on, were given a ladder to set up the gazebo!
Furthermore, my sister had ordered 1.5 times the amount of food per person and that was expecting a 150 people... 120 showed up for the ceremony and reception and yet we still ran out of food.No offense to the banquets chef but your chicken was dry, the caprese kabobs were bland, which was not anything like the tasting that took place back in January. Not to mention the attitude from the staff did not help my sister or anyone for that matter. The worse part about this is we didn't even get a discount.
I get it, Brides get a little crazy from the stress, it is however a special day. Except, as a person who has worked at a gas station and is now working at a high-class resort, every customer/person should not be treated the way we were.
The only person really trying to make everything pan out staff wise that day was Charlotte. She literally tried her hardest to make things work even though it got worse throughout the day/evening.
