A highlight for the ceremony and rehearsal

I was initially skeptical of whether or not we needed to do a rehearsal for the wedding but Father John made it all worth it. He was the highlight of the rehearsal and was shared valuable insights and tips for what we should do. His humor was amazing and helped us relax during moments of high stress. For the actual ceremony, he shared a booklet of pre-packaged readings, vows, blessings and unity ceremonies that we could pick from. From start to finish the entire process was super simple and enjoyable. Would recommend Father John 10/10!!

AMAZING Experience Rev. John!

Rev. John came highly recommended to my husband and I ! he was very charismatic and professional! He took his time to get to know my husband and I ! Father John was incredibly kind and so easy to work with! His wedding packet made it super simple to customize our ceremony and make it whatever we wanted it to be. The day of he made everything flow so seamlessly and our ceremony was absolutely beautiful!

Highly recommend!!

Father John was amazing! Our guests were raving about how much fun he was during the ceremony. He was really friendly and kept us relaxed beforehand with all of his jokes.
He made the planning process so easy- he gives you many options that you can choose from to really make the ceremony your own. We really can't thank him enough for giving us the perfect wedding!

The Best Day

Perfect Priest

Father John was phenomenal in helping us through this whole process. He answered all questions we had throughout the entire process. We met casually and he wanted to make sure we were comfortable in our decision before moving forward with choosing him to marry us.

He arrived at our venue early so we could go through all the formalities and he kept the ceremony short and sweet. We did the readings that were special to us, and he introduced us to the "Wine Box Ceremony" which both us, and all of our guests loved. They've never seen it before and thought it was something so special and different.

Father John is so personable and we would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to get married by a Catholic Priest.

Our Best Day Ever!

We met Rev. O'Sullivan about 6 months before our wedding and knew right away we wanted him to marry us. Super friendly, charismatic, and loved that we created our own ceremony with all the different options that were given to us! Was an awesome experience for our awesome day!

The Right Guy

From the day we met Father John O'Sullivan, we were totally pulled in by his charm. He was friendly and likeable and answered all of our inquiries. On out wedding day May 20th, 2018, he was punctual, professional, funny and still as charming. The day was already super special, and it was really nice having him perform our ceremony. He makes you feel very comfortable and he listens to what you want. He tells you everything you need to get done. He is also very prompt sending back the marriage certificate. We are happy that we picked the right guy, our family loved him too!

Father John Michael did a wonderful job at our wedding! It was a pleasure working with him. He and his assistant Joan provided a comprehensive packet so that we could tailor the wedding to exactly what we were looking for. My husband and I are so happy we chose Father John to officiate our wedding. Father John was so warm and easy to be around. We met with him before the wedding and had a lovely time chatting about our upcoming nuptials. On the day, he was calming and so easy to work with. We basically wrote our own ceremony with the help of his wedding packet, which has LOADS of ideas about how to format your ceremony. He's one of a kind.

We had only met him the one time and spoken with him once, but he made our ceremony feel like we've known him for years. He's funny and engaging and he wanted us to have a wonderful wedding. We had about an hour delay (not from the bride or groom) and he stayed and you never heard a complaint or an annoyance from him. We are so happy we had Father John perform our ceremony, we could not have asked for a better officiant. Thank you Father John

My husband and I picked Father John about a year ago. I did some research and we picked him because of his exceptional reviews! He most certainly delivered and was a pleasure to work with. From our first meeting with him he gave us some suggestions and whenever we talked about our family and doing something for them, he constantly reminded us that it is us getting married and it is what we want. Joan was very responsive with answering questions and the ceremony packet goes over everything you need and is super helpful. Before the rehearsal my husband and I were a little nervous because we did not know what to go through, but Father John came in and told us everything we needed to do step by step and got us in and out in 30 minutes! Everone loved him during the ceremony he exuted humor and professionalism. I would highly recommend Father John Michael!

Fr. John was exceptional. From the moment we first began working together, my then fiance and I knew we'd found a gem. We had an instant connection with Fr. John. His knowledge, suggestions, ideas and ability to cater to our needs/desires really came through. He was also bride-centric and wanted to make sure my vision for the day was fulfilled which was important because I'm much more of a 'people pleaser'. When I'd call to make a request on behalf of my mother he'd stop me and say, 'is this what you want?' This was phenomenally important for me and I'm so grateful he posed that to me. The ceremony itself was absolutely seamless. He arrived early, warmly greeted the groom and bridal party, and just made everyone feel at ease. His demeanor and poise brought a very spiritual tone to the service despite the fact it was outside which I loved as I'd initially wanted to marry in a church. I loved the wedding packet he'd had me work from. it made it so easy to customize our service and really personalize it to match my religion and my grooms spirituality. I cannot express enough the amount of compliments we received. I'm sure many brides feel this way but the moment I reached the end of the aisle, I just felt encapsulated in this spiritual bubble. I couldn't see anything other than my groom and Fr. John. It was a singular experience. Fr. John truly made it feel like a spiritual union. All of our guests said they'd never seen a more beautiful, loving ceremony which was a huge compliment because for us, that was the most important aspect of the wedding

Selecting the right Officiant is such a personal choice to ensure it is exactly what you want for your day, and from the moment you meet Father John, he puts your mind at ease. He is extremely thorough in his process to ensure you receive the ceremony you are looking for and his lightheartedness, humor and caring approach come through. Father John was amazing. When we first met with him, he walked us through the everything. He had a binder filled with everything we would need to put together our ceremony. As he explained everything to us, he kept reminding us that "it was our wedding." My husband used that phrase for the rest of the planning process when someone wanted to give us their input!

He was very quick to respond, and on top of things. I managed to miss the the large font that said "due one month before the ceremony!" Father John reached out to my husband and I about a week before the ceremony to get our choices for the ceremony. He told us not to worry, everything would be perfect- and it was!

Father John was funny and had our guests laughing during the ceremony. Thank you so much Father John!

My Husband and I used father John for our March 2015 wedding at the English Manor. My husband and I are both catholic, but not super religious, so it was important to include a few religious details in our wedding without going overboard into a full mass. Father John was able to do just that for us. We had our initial meeting about 10 months before our wedding and form that first day I knew it would be a good fit. Every time either of us discussed our wedding Father John would interrupt and ask "Whose wedding is this?" to make sure that the answer was not "Mine" or "hers" or "his" but "OURS." He gave us a detailed packet with different options for ceremony styles and readings that we could do. He was willing to include as much religious stuff as we wanted while at the same time being a little more modern. My brother and brother in law did readings and father John was prepared for that as well with print outs of the readings in case they forgot their copies. Seeing how many other people had positive experiences with father John took alot of worry from me. I knew everything would go smoothly, and I was write. The ceremony went off without a hitch (minus my brother in law not being able to get the ring box from his pocket!) and I couldn't have asked for a better officiant. In fact, my brother may be using him too!

Father John was an amazing officiant for our June wedding. He was very easy to work with and helpful during our entire wedding planning process. He kept us relaxed on our wedding day and kept the ceremony moving without feeling rushed. Our guests were very complimentary of him!

I highly recommend using Father John – especially if you are looking for a ceremony that mixes both traditional and contemporary ideas.

Father John is great! He was very easy to work with and extremely helpful throughout the whole process. He talked us through all the aspects of our ceremony and made sure we were comfortable with all our decisions for the big day. We met with him twice throughout the year and a half we worked with him, and exchanged quite a few emails and phone calls! We booked him very early because we knew we wanted to use his services since he officiated my mother-in-laws wedding a few years early. He offered us a lot of guidance on how to get the ceremony we wanted, and helped us figure out the best way to include our mothers and grandmothers in the ceremony.

Father John also ran our rehearsal and offered us some great tips on how to get the best ceremony, including how to stand, how long the kiss should be for the best pictures, and just general advice on getting the most out of the moment.

Our ceremony was short but sweet for certain-- only about 20 minutes in total. Father John was right on track and funny. The guests really loved him. Before we knew it we were married and all his tips paid off and we got some really great photos, professional and other wise from the ceremony.

I highly recommend Father John if you are looking to create a ceremony that mixes both traditional and contemporary ceremony ideas. We had some prayers and traditional Catholic blessings, but we also had secular readings. It was a blend that really spoke to us as a couple, and I think that resonated with the guests. Father John is really great at offering tips and advice on getting to the ceremony you want and will help you figure out what that means, because it's important to him that it's about the two of you and not anyone else. I couldn't be happier with Father John's services!

Rev. John Michael was our priest for our wedding day and was absolutely amazing. When I first met him, he was so friendly, funny, and helped me understand the importance of the blessing of the rings and vows. I had many questions of course and for most of them he always responded with, "Who's wedding is it?" which made me feel so happy to know that he supported my ideas for the ceremony. I was so excited to hear that he was available the day of my wedding and could not imagine it being anyone else but him now looking back. He made our ceremony so perfect and said all of the right things so naturally. In addition, as a nervous bride it was such a great feeling to watch how smoothly everything went and trusting that he will guide me through the whole way. What I loved was that he turned us towards the guests when placing the rings on and saying our vows so that everyone can see. Pictures came out beautiful because of that piece of advice. We will gladly recommend him to anyone!

Father John was an absolute pleasure to work with. He allowed us to create our own ceremony and always emphasized that this wedding was about us and no one else. I was a little nervous because we only met him one time prior to our wedding but he called me the week of to go over our ceremony and make sure everything was in order. The day of our wedding, he was friendly and funny and just really put everyone at ease. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone!

Father John was an amazingly sweet and warm hearted man. He asked us if we were prepared and encouraged us to share anything that was troubling us. He felt like family. He had a great sense of humor too! He actively walked around and greeted guests as well as family. He made the whole ceremony and time after feel so warm and natural. I had the honor of having Fr. John preside over the Catholic portion of my inter-faith wedding. He stayed true to his (and his trusty assistant, Joan) word and worked with us to keep the wedding on schedule.

His sermon could not be more on-point than it already was and I received great feedback from many members in the congregation (Both Catholics and non-Catholics) on his sermon, as he was able to connect with the audience through his sense of humor and anecdotes.

In short, I'd highly recommend using his services.

Father John was recommended to is by a couple who have used him, and we are so glad we went with him, he put our ceremony together exactly how we wanted it. And it was perfect! I am so grateful we found Father John. My husband and I had our hearts set on a beach ceremony, although I was raised in a large Catholic family. Father John was a perfect find, as he is willing to do outdoor ceremonies and will only make them as religious as you want. He gave us a packet with different readings, vows, and unity ceremonies, and told us it was our wedding and we should do whatever we wanted, although he did make a few wise suggestions of some things that would/would not work well at a beach wedding. When I found a different reading I wanted to include, he very enthusiastically agreed. We were able to create a ceremony that had enough religious elements to make me and my family feel comfortable but without being too much for my husband. Afterward we had people of all different backgrounds tell us how beautiful the ceremony was and how much they loved it. None of that would have been possible without Father John's calm, good-natured, and respectful manner. He was absolutely perfect!

We really enjoyed having Father John as our wedding ceremony officiant! He was very professional from the start, and has a whole packet full of helpful information and sample readings and vows to choose from. You can build your own ceremony from scratch! It was a great compromise for my husband and I who are Catholic and Methodist and neither very religious in particular. Father John is very funny, and added a great atmosphere of humor to our ceremony! All of the parents and guests commented on how wonderful he and the ceremony were! Father John came to the bridal suite and saw the groom prior to the ceremony and gave us clear instructions and play by play for the ceremony, and even gave my bridesmaids helpful tips. He worked with our maitre'd and string trio and really made the entire ceremony perfect! For a personal touch, give him bios of the bride and groom so he can plan a personal homily. Joan at his office was very responsive and helpful! Great experience, we're both very happy!

Fr. John Michael O'Sullivan was such a professional throughout our experience with him. he conducted the perfect ceremony for our style and even described an Irish Hand Fasting unity that was a unique way to bring the two of us together. He was humorous, kind of heart and really made us feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the entire experience. My husband works in the industry and has seen literally hundreds of officiants. He suggested Fr. John Michael and I am so glad that he did. We couldn't be happier!

Father John Michael was such an absolute pleasure to work with! He provided us with a packet to help us plan the perfect ceremony and then followed up several days before the wedding. He also made us feel so comfortable on the day of our wedding. He was very funny and personable. Even though we only spoke with him a couple of times before ceremony, guests asked us afterward how long we had know him since he made it appear like he had known us for a long time. We received many compliments from guests. Father John Michael's personality and professionalism will make any ceremony truly memorable and we'd recommend to all future brides and grooms!

Fr. John was great. He is fun and friendly. He makes you feel very at ease on the day of your wedding. He is very easy to work with. His wedding packet that he gives you helps you personalize your wedding. He will be at your ceremony before you arrive and he will tell you all you need to know then. You can make your ceremony as religious as you want.

Father John was the perfect person to conduct our ceremony! He was personal, funny, and just an overall happy person to be around. We only spoke with him a few times between booking him and the day of but everything went off without a hitch. He called us a few nights before to see how we were doing and to check if there were any ceremony changes. Then on the day of, he arrived early and hung out with our families and bridal party which definitely helped us to feel more at ease and less nervous! He did a great job!!

Father John was great. I met with a few officiants and as soon as i met him I knew that his personality matched that of my husband and I & i wanted him to marry us. THe ceremony was great & Father John made my husband and I and even the guests feel at ease, relaxed and the ceremony was fun & light and joyous..which is what it should be! I would recommend Father John to anyone who is getting married and in need of an officiant. He was great!

After seeing Fr. John officiate some of our friend's and family's ceremonies we knew we had to have him for ours. He gives you so much to work with and is willing to add anything to make the ceremony truly your own. We absolutely loved his sense of humor.

Father John was wonderful! He provided a lot of options for our ceremony and we were able to make it exactly what we wanted. We were both raised Catholic but aren't practicing, so he brought a Catholic and religious aspect to an otherwise civil ceremony. He is also very charismatic and funny- which our guests loved. We received many, many compliments on the ceremony from our guests. I would highly recommend him!

Father John was amazing! From the minute we met him we knew we wanted him to be our officiant. We were getting married at the Crystal Point and he told us the ceremony should be about us and we could do whatever we wanted. He added a little humor to the ceremony which we loved. So many people told us how great our officiant was. We could not have been happier with his services!

Father John was EXCELLENT! i have no religious affiliation but my husband is Catholic. He blended our beliefs wonderfully and let us design our wedding ourselves! He told us it was our wedding and that we could have it any way we want. Just the right amount of humor in the ceremony and still made it touching. Great guy!

We were thrilled with John Michael's role as the officiant for our ceremony. he had the right mix of charm and professionalism to keep the wedding ceremony from being boring. All the extras we included were incorporated and when questions arose, he was available. We would definitely recommned to others looking for an officiant for their wedding.

Rev. John Michael did an excellent job officiating our ceremony on June 25, 2010. We had an outdoor ceremony at The English Manor. When first meeting with Rev. John Michael he gave us a packet filled with readings, variations of vows and ring exchange ceremonies. We used this packet to create a unique ceremony that represented us as a couple. The day of the ceremony, Rev. John Michael showed up early and joked around with us as we were waiting for the guests to arrive. He gave us a beautiful ceremony..exactly what we wanted and had discussed with him. We HIGHLY recommend him!

Father Fabulous!!!

Father John Michael was perfect as our officiant. He let us customize our ceremony while still providing guidance on options to include. He provides you with a great packet that contains invaluable information as you prepare. Our parents and families loved him and he was able to bring some religion into the ceremony while not over doing it. (Just like we wanted). The day of the wedding hit that fine line between professionalism and levity. It is a celebration after all! He even noticed that my nose was running a bit during the ceremony and discreetly handed me a tissue. He also knew the perfect way to move around to unintentionally ending up in certain photos. We can’t thank him enough for making our ceremony perfect.

Father John Michael is professional, punctual and friendly. He provides you with all the paperwork in detailed form that you will need on your big day. Hence he does not do rehearsals. He has many experience and was able to deliver our Filipino mantilla wedding perfectly without any hesitations or mishaps. I have recommended him to a good friend of mine and anyone else!

Easy, breezy day with an easy going reverend

Rev John is easy going, funny, and warm. All my guests thought the ceremony was wonderful and several people commented on his sense of humor. He was a wonderful addition to our wedding.

Father John performed our wedding ceremony at Nanina's in the Park. We first met Father John at a dinner near our home in NJ. He was a very nice guy with a lot of character. When it got closer to our wedding, we were nervous because we never had a rehearsal for the ceremony but Father John gave us a call that week to walk us through everything. On the actual day, he was a very calm presence. He did a great job and made the whole nuptial experience very memorable. I would definitely recommend him to anyone!

Performed a short, sweet, simply perfect ceremony. We got so many compliments after the ceremony about his vibrant personality, but utter professionalism. My only negative comment is that he did not come to the rehearsal day, since I was told by his receptionist he does not do the rehearsal. All turned out perfect though.

Rev. John Michael was great the day of the wedding. The packet he gave us helped us put together our ceremony and he even helped me put together an outline for the rehearsal. He also provides very clear instructions on how to obtain a marriage license in New Jersey.

My family is Roman Catholic and my husband was raised Lutheran, however we are both non-practicing. Our mothers are pretty religious and it was important to them we have that tied into our ceremony. I refused to go through the trouble of joining a local Parish and donating every month, as well as going through all the paperwork associated with getting married to a non-catholic. Rev. John was perfect--he provided the spiritual aspect of our wedding and knew the ins and outs of a Filipino Catholic Mantilla ceremony. Knowing that an entire half the congregation would not know what any of the significance was for the different rituals in the Mantilla ceremony, his homily was tailored to explain it. And it took a punctual 30 minutes.

The one big drawback is its VERY hard to get into contact with him prior the wedding. He is very busy and doesn't usually respond to emails. His assistants sometimes pick up the slack, but I found myself having to make phone calls to him most of the time. Calling between 7-9 at night is the best time, but that can be frustrating when all you need is a yes or no to a simple question.

We met with Father John a few months before our ceremony and were impressed with the number of options to customize our ceremony to meet our needs. On the actual wedding day we were very happy with his humor and how he conducted our ceremony at sayen gardens. My only concern was that he was difficult to get in touch with and you usually had to leave a message for his office staff and it took a bit to get a response. But it turned out great!

It's sad to say, but I want to be honest for other couples out there. We were very disappointed with our ceremony officiant. Fr. John was difficult to get in touch with throughout the planning and in the end our ceremony was not what we had envisioned. It felt like Fr. John hadn't practiced our readings, stumbling over words and speaking too quickly. Overall, everything felt awkward, cold, and rushed. I am thankful that we wrote and recited our own vows. Not worth the money we paid.

Terrible experience

Father Tom essentially scammed us. He double booked and then would not give us our deposit back, even though he is the one who cancelled. I would not recommend. There are definitely others out there.

On June 25th, 2022, You, contacted my office for wedding availability for June 24th, 2023, with ceremony to begin at 4:30 PM. As of June 2022, your ceremony on 6-24-23 was scheduled to begin at 4:30pm and clearly written on our Intake Form you were scheduled a FaceTime Meeting on June 29th, 2022, at 7:00 PM. July 5th, 2022, a confirmation email was sent to acknowledge your retainer and reaffirmed the date, place, and reserved ceremony time of 4:30 PM. You were asked to review the attached wedding handbook and call the office at 732-786-1906 with any questions.

Office Policy:
Date, place and allotted time of any wedding, baptism or funeral ceremony must be ascertained and confirmed for availability before a meeting is set up.

February 19th, 2023, my office contacted you after reviewing your Timeline Email. The start time of the ceremony had moved forward one hour, from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Unfortunately, you changed your time and did not inform my office for 7 months. The 5:30 PM ceremony start time was not available. During that phone contact you declined any help finding replacement clergy. March 10th, 2023. It was clearly explained to your fiancé that we did not cancel, the new time of 5:30 PM was not available. It was also explained to your fiancé that the retainer would be refunded when your time slot was re-booked. I have been celebrating beautiful ceremonies for over 30 years, and I do not double book, I am a professional, I make adequate allowances for my time and my travel covering NJ, PA & NY. No one appreciates to have their time wasted. Bottom Line, On July 5th, 2022, you were sent the confirmation of your retainer, ceremony place, date, and time of 4:30 PM, and the 2022 Wedding Handbook, whereon page 8 that it clearly explains about Informing my office ASAP about time changes and that retainers are nonrefundable. I truly am sympathetic with your unforced error of timing and recognize that you also want to have a beautiful wedding day. The wedding time slot in question has been re-reserved and your retainer has been refunded. Lastly, to be clear from your emails, I am not Pastor or Father Tom.
