We love working with Rachel. She photographed our wedding and somehow still agrees to photograph our family every year (even with kids involved). She makes photos feel easy and fun, is amazing with kids, and captures the real moments we’ll actually want to remember. Our photos are always beautiful, never awkward, and totally worth it. Highly recommended!

I got married in Hawaii, and one of the biggest challenges was finding vendors I could trust from out of state. From the very beginning, Rachel Robertson and her team were kind, professional, and genuinely understanding of what I needed. Communication was seamless, and she made the entire process feel stress-free despite the distance.

My photos turned out absolutely stunning...better than I could have ever imagined! Rachel captured every moment with such artistry and care, from the big emotional highlights to the small details I didn’t even realize she was noticing. At one point, she even discreetly noticed one of my groomsmen had his zipper down before a group photo. She quietly asked him to fix it, and that photo ended up being one of my favorites. Beyond her talent behind the camera, Rachel was such a wonderful presence to have on my wedding day. When my maid of honor was struggling with my bustle, Rachel didn’t hesitate to get down on her knees and fix it herself. That moment really showed me she was more than just a photographer, she was an invaluable part of my day.

Wonderful photographer for our wedding!

Rachel was our photographer for our wedding August 2025 and she made the day so memorable. Not only did our photos turn out stunning but she also made sure that we had a great time taking photos and timed it well so it didn’t take away from the rest of the day. She helped get a bug out from in between one of the many layers of my dress and even did my 9-point bustle for me before our grand entrance. She really is a joy to work with, brings positive energy to the day, and does a great job at capturing the best moments without taking away from any of the authentic experiences. We could not recommend her enough!

Highly Recommend!

Rachel is an amazing photographer. We had Rachel take our engagement photos last year and fell in love, so we just had to have her photograph our wedding. We love how Rachel catches our natural smiles without us even knowing. We are absolutely obsessed with our wedding photos and will have trouble finding just a few favorites. She is amazing to work with and brings such a positive and fun energy with her. Definitely recommend her for anyone that enjoys the small moments.

Amazing!!!

Rachel was our amazing photographer for our engagement photos and wedding, and I can’t say enough good things about her. We referred her to our friends and they were super happy with Rachel as well. From the start, I loved her transparent pricing and she was very responsive. She was flexible with scheduling and had great recommendations for spots. When we showed up for our engagement photos it was POURING rain but Rachel waited it out with us and we got stunning photos in a break of the clouds. She is professional and had established relationships with our other vendors which was great. Our wedding day she was so efficient taking photos and made everything fun and stress free. We are SO happy with our photos, and the colors are beautiful (no white washed stylized photos, we wanted true vibrant colors representative of the islands!). Again, book Rachel, you won’t be disappointed!

We used Rachel as our engagement and wedding photographer. She was so warm, thoughtful, and effective in getting spectacular photos. We LOVE Rachel!

We are so happy that we had Rachel as our wedding photographer! She was our first choice after researching photographers in the area and we had such a great experience with her. It started off with a quick phone call, we immediately felt at ease with her and she was so happy and kind to answer all of our questions. Based on the package we chose, she gave us a free hour which we used as an engagement shoot. We were a bit nervous since we’ve never had photos taken before but Rachel made us feel comfortable. She was making jokes and learning more about us, while also providing feedback and direction if something didn’t look right. And then on the wedding day, we got the same energy from her. She seemed really organized and got the shots we wanted, but was also super flexible if we had new ideas pop up. She got the photos to us a month after our event and was very responsive when we noticed a few shots were missing. We truly appreciate how much she cares about her clients, and we’ll be repeat customers in the future when it’s time for family photos!

Positive energy that kept the evening flow

The thing that separates Rachel Robertson Photography from the rest is her and her team’s positive energy that kept the day moving from beginning to end. We chose to get 8 hours of coverage to include the getting ready photos and the reception program. It’s like she innately knew what to do next when the light wasn’t working or had a lil “photo” kit of her own (that’s not a package, she’s super prepared) when my makeup needed blotting. Rachel is awesome! Do yourself a favor and hire her! Wow! Just wow!

Rachel's photographs are incredible! We instantly liked her when we met her before our wedding and could not believe how lucky we were that she was available for our big day. She captured every moment beautifully! Rachel sent our photos quickly after the wedding and we cannot stop looking through them. Beyond amazing

Rachel is amazing!! She stood in the pouring....and I mean pouring rain (right before Kauai had the big rains that caused massive flooding) for us and managed to get amazing photos, despite the sideways rain. She then did another shoot with us the next day so we could have some pictures of us where we were dry. Although we had been on the island for about a week we still didn't have the best ideas of where to go, she had great ideas and the day after pictures were beyond beautiful and so unique. She even helped me do my hair the next day to try to recreate the wedding day.

She is quick to respond, extremely professional and a great communicator. She is great at directing people for family and group pictures and her eye for candid shots is epic.

I highly recommend her!!

Meet Us In Montana...Wedding on Family Farm

My wife and I were planning a Hawaiian wedding from Australia, our wedding planner recommended Rachel and we are so glad that she did! Rachel did such an amazing job capturing our surprise engagement in Oahu on 9/21/2017. The pictures came out beautiful, and she was able to turn them around exceptionally fast without sacrificing any quality. Everyone loved the pictures, but more importantly my fiancee did. In planning a surprise proposal in Oahu from San Diego, I was really looking for someone with great customer service, and Rachel delivered! She was phenomenal throughout the entire process, starting from the first e-mail, to the several lengthy phone calls to discuss the logistics. As for the shoot itself, she was able to capture every moment without giving anything away, largely in part to her beautiful little 2 year old decoy. I would absolutely recommend her services to anyone looking for a professional and easy to work with photographer in Oahu. She will not disappoint you.

My husband and I got married at Kualoa Ranch in March and Rachel did an AMAZING job as our photographer. We initially met with Rachel a year before the wedding and just loved her fun personality, professionalism and beautiful photography. We felt like we clicked with her easily and met with her again a few days before the wedding just to touch base on everything and discuss what kind of photos we hoped to have captured on the wedding day.

Rachel and her assistant, Paula, did an incredible job at our wedding -- several guests commented on how pleasant and fun they were to work with and one family member even said, "She's the best photographer I've ever encountered at a wedding!" Both Rachel and Paula worked hard but made it look effortless. We now have hundreds of beautiful photos, from creative up-close detail shots to lovely family photos and ones capturing the stunning scenery of Kualoa Ranch. Rachel has a wonderful eye for what makes a great photo and she's very talented with getting the perfect lighting. We also loved the website link she sent us with all our photos which made it really easy to share them with our family and friends in both the USA and Australia!

My wife and I recently married at Sunset Ranch on 6.10.2016. Rachel was our photographer throughout the day, and an absolute delight to work with. She by far exceeded our expectations.

Our planning process was made simple with Rachel from the beginning. She was one of the first vendors we met with as we knew our photographer was a very important part of capturing our day and all the memories to come. Not only did she help guide the process, she also directed us to other wonderful vendors such as our hair/makeup consultant. Rachel was very responsive through both email and text, which can be very helpful for two busy brides.

On the day of our wedding, Rachel helped with the flow and timeline of each part. She was organized and assisted the coordinator. She brought an assistant who captured areas we were not able to see, including cocktail hour and parts of the reception when we were doing our couple's photos. All of our bridal party immediately connected with her passionate and outgoing personality. She made people smile (which is always helpful for photos) and really made the entire photography process seamless and easy. Rachel was compassionate to our personal desires to make the day even more perfect. She spent time photographing us with our families, friends, and even our fur-family, Mr. Sam. She went above and beyond to capture part of the ceremony including butterflies in remembrance of Jenna S' mother-of-the-bride.

The final pieces were absolutely remarkable. Every photo was perfect. I cannot depict our appreciation in words and the passion Rachel has for her trade. She really has an eye for photography. Jenna and I recommend her without any hesitancy to someone who is looking for a photographer who will exceed your expectations and connect on a personal level. In my opinion photography is one of the most important vendors you can choose for you wedding. If your wedding looks amazing but your photographer is subpar, all of that effort and coordination won't be captured in the way that you want. And really, while the other parts of the wedding were part of that day, you'll have the photos forever! So needless to say photography was a priority for us and Rachel was everything we were looking for! She was very responsive from the beginning and extremely professional. I was planning my wedding from the mainland so I wasn't able to meet her in person beforehand, but she was so sweet and i immediately felt at ease! I had complete faith in Rachel to get the shots that we needed and she totally did. Taking group pictures (which can be crazy and last forever) was really easy because Rachel knew exactly how to orchestrate it. Since I didn't really have a "vision" for my photos I really relied on Rachel's expertise to have varied and dynamic shots and they were all stunning. I would HIGHLY recommend Rachel to anyone!!!

What can we say if you are thinking about hiring Rachel for your special day we couldn’t recommend a better person for the job. We initially contacted Rachel as one of the recommendations from our wedding co-ordinator and initially sent her a brief outline of our requirements via email; even though we are based in Australia Rachel was very good at communicating in a timely fashion. We were able to Skype with Rachel and plan how the day was going to plan out. Rachel was very forthcoming in recommendations based on our location. Rachel was flexible with payment arrangements; we were able to pay via credit card from Australia.
Fast forward to the big day Rachel and her assistant arrived on time to take pre-wedding photos of the bridal party and guests. Rachel took spectacular photos and captured breathtaking moments from our wedding. Rachel has an eye for taking great shots. The images turned out fantastic. We also had a trash the dress session booked and Rachel kindly accommodated two session’s one at Waimanalo Beach and Makapu’u for some beach shots and underwater shots.
The photos were provided by digital format and USB – there are so many fantastic photos we are finding it hard to decide which photos to blow up on canvas. We have shown our photos to so many people and they have all commented on how beautiful the images turned out.

Rachel is an amazing photographer! I'm not comfortable having my photo taken so I was not looking forward to having photos taken all day on my wedding day. I thought I would look very unnatural and uncomfortable in photos, but Rachel was so great at putting my husband and I at ease throughout the whole day. She is one of those photographers who takes the most natural and flattering photos (no awkward shots at all). Most importantly they are such beautiful photos that my husband and I will cherish forever. Every person that has seen our photos comments on how beautiful they are and what an amazing photographer Rachel is. Rachel was very easy to work with and I would highly recommend her for your wedding.

I've quietly followed Rachel's work since she was at Reve Photography about 10 years ago. She's a pro, and she just keeps getting better at what she does. We're so grateful that she was available to cover my wedding in Kaimuki this past April.

Although I had a very tiny ceremony (16 people total, including my husband and me), she put everyone at ease (even our priest!) and got some amazing shots of our venue and everyone in attendance. Her work was one major aspect of our wedding that we definitely didn't need to stress over.

Rachel has a much quicker turnaround with pics than we expected (took about a month, but I must reiterate how small our wedding was), given that she's so busy. That said, if you're interested in hiring her, get in touch right away and book in advance.

We loved working with Rachel. She has a brilliant eye and was very easy going but still able to herd cats and get everything done when we needed to hurry up a little bit because of the weather - all without seeming rushed or taking anything away from the party. She got great photos and lots of photos of even the most reluctant and camera shy guys. ;) We have so many good photos to choose from that we still have not been able to decide what to put on our walls. But we have a beautiful wedding album that she put together for us (since again we could not decide on photos). We would recommend her to anyone!

We were very blessed that we were able to have Rachel capture our special day. Rachel and her team were absolutely incredible. Rachel was absolutely amazing!!! From the first time we met she made me feel so comfortable. We had a 7 hour package and I would highly recommend it!! The whole day from start to finish was captured and the finished product was out of this world!!! I was so so happy with the photos they were beautiful. Rachel was our photographer for our September 1st 2015 wedding and she was amazing! She arrived on time and ready to, making the most of the four hours together. Even though we had never met before that day my husband and I immediately felt comfortable with her. At the end of our session I asked if it would be possible to have a just couple pictures ready within a few weeks so that we could display them at the reception we were having on September 26th. She said it wouldn't be a problem- we were blown away when she emailed me ten days later to say all of our photos were ready! They are stunning and such a great reminder of that special day. Rachel is professional, has great communication and her prices were right on. We look forward to working with Rachel again in the future and we highly recommend her services!

Rachel shot our engagement and wedding photos, and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. Five stars across the board, and gorgeous photos to cherish forever. Our wedding was the day after a big storm, and my indoor/outdoor venue had to be tarped (ugly blue tarp!) and the weather was super hot and humid... Rachel is an amazing photographer. We loved working with her and were thrilled with our photos. Finding the right wedding photographer was one of the most important details to me, and we could not be happier with Rachel. We were so happy to have Rachel as our wedding photographer! We had a destination wedding and Rachel was super responsive to all of our phone calls and emails and just overall really fun to work with! We had limited time for photos and she helped us put together a list of group shots we wanted to have which went quick and smoothly the day of the wedding, leaving plenty of time for pictures for the two of us. On the day of the wedding Rachel was super organized, professional and made everyone feel relaxed! She was also super flexible, we had an impromptu first look with the bridesmaids and flower girl as well as there was a hurricane coming! I have to admit when we were planning our destination wedding I was more concerned about who is going to take our wedding pictures and I'm so glad that we picked Rachel to be our photographer. We didn't meet Rachel until the day of the wedding, we mostly communicated via email and it worked out just fine. She's very efficient and answered all of our questions and concerns.

My expectations were exceeded when we finally met Rachel at our wedding day. She's very professional and has an eye for details of her subjects, she captures the candid moments that mattered the most. What I like the most about her is her personality and patience (under water trash the dress is no joke). she has good vibes, very down to earth and easy to work with. I can see why her photos are so great, her personality reflects her work.

Rachel is absolutely amazing!
Planning a destination wedding in Hawaii from California was tough. We researched other photographers but there was something special about Rachel Robertson's work that kept drawing us back to her. Rachel has such a fun personality that makes those some time awkward poses easy and fun. My husband is a shy guy and things kinds of things makes him nervous, but Rachel made it fun! Rachel is not only a great photographer, but she has a great personality. She knows when o take charge and direct people (like when trying to corral our families to get a big group shot), she was able to capture the ceremony without anyone noticing her, and she is always smiling and bubbly. Gorgeous photos! We knew we wanted Rachel as our photographer before we had anything else decided for our wedding.
It's always best to come to the table with some ideas of pictures you'd like, but even if you can't, Rachel will make sure that you have a variety of poses and settings for you. We had so much fun doing our underwater engagement photos- Rachel was a pro in the water! As for our wedding day, we had so many gorgeous shots. Rachel really captured the light and the moment, we are so glad that she was available for our special day.

Rachel was our wedding photographer for our June 2014 wedding on Oahu. Because we planned our wedding from afar we were unable to actually meet Rachel until the day of. This caused no issues at all as she was incredibly friendly, organized and easy to work with right off the bat. I had multiple guests comment to me throughout the night how much they liked her and what a great job they thought she was doing. My father is very in to photography and he mentioned to me that he felt comfortable putting his own camera down after he saw her working. I haven't seen my pictures yet but based on my interactions with Rachel up to this point I have no doubt that they will be fantastic! Highly recommended.

This review is really long overdue, but I thought better late than never...

Our wedding was last October and we were so lucky to have found Rachel through help of Yelp! My husband and I live in San Francisco, but we were getting married on Oahu. We were a little hesitant on finding a photographer through Yelp, but after looking through Rachel's pictures on her website, we decided to go for it. When we finally met Rachel in Hawaii, we were sooo glad to have found her! We immediately felt comfortable with Rachel and we loved her PERSONALITY!!! sweet, outgoing, and fun, yet very professional!! Fast forwarding to our wedding day, Rachel made us feel really comfortable and taking pictures with her was actually so easy! and and believe me, my husband does not like to take pictures! we even did a underwater Trash the Dress shoot and our pictures came out so amazing!!!

Rachel was amazing & I would highly recommend her services. Rachel went out of her way to make the flow of the day so flawless and easy going. We absolutely loved how our wedding pictures came out and couldn't have asked for more. It was perfect!

We loved working with Rachel and are thrilled with how our wedding pictures turned out!! Rachel is fun and bubbly and helped us throughout the day with the normal progression of events by letting us know when we should cut the cake and do the first dance. Without her, our wedding day would have never gone so smoothly. My husband and I are pretty laid back so we hadn't given much thought to poses and locations but Rachel took care of everything and directed us and our wedding party throughout the day. If there was something that we wanted to capture, she was very open to taking pictures and even gave us the best light and positioning. Our experience with Rachel has been absolutely AWESOME! We booked her for our two engagement shoots (one in New York and another in Hawaii) and our wedding day. She is very creative and easy to get along with so it made our photo sessions go by very smoothly. She’s always open to ideas, whether you talked about it before hand or even if you think about it while shooting that day. Although she is fun to work with, she still maintains a level of professionalism. She’s very good with time, meaning that she is able to efficiently capture the special moments of the day without taking up too much of your mingling time but more importantly without pushing back the agenda. With this skill it allowed us to spend more time with our wedding guests and when our group photos were taking longer than expected she was able to effectively communicate with our guests so that the process moved along faster. Her style of photography has a nice balance of posed and candid photos. It’s very easy to contact her and she’s always pretty quick with responding to emails and phone calls. I truly love the photos that she’s captured and I would definitely recommend her!

Rachel is amazing to work with. She did our engagement photos and our wedding photos, and I was consistently impressed. First, she's great at breaking the ice and making sure you don't feel like a weirdo. My husband didn't want anything to do with engagement photos, but ended up loving them and is now Rachel's biggest fan. Secondly--the pictures are brilliant. She manages to capture genuine, beautiful moments. It's not over the top silly or canned, and ultimately these photos will always remind us of a truly happy moment.

I can't say enough about Rachel. She is lots of fun, super nice and always smiling even when everyone is hot and sweaty! As far as the photography itself, one thing that I think many brides have a hard time doing is choosing your final set of pics. Some photographers only allow you to choose a set number of pics or they only commit to taking a certain amount of pics during your wedding. Well we did not have to worry about that with Rachel. We received digital images of all the pics taken. No stress! What else can a bride ask for.
When you're planning a destination wedding you usually don't get the luxury of meeting your vendors before your wedding day. We were so lucky that Rachel was visiting NYC and not only did we get to meet her, but she also shot our engagement pics while she was here. We were super excited about having Rachel capture our wedding day. A year later we were at our venue and it was a warm day and the trade winds were kicking in. She helped me deal with the heat by telling me we were going to wait to the last possible minute to put on my dress to take my getting ready picks. I was so grateful! I don't know if it was the fact that I had a small wedding, but we got through our pictures (group and bride/groom) rather quickly. Which was so awesome because we got to join our guests and enjoy our cocktail hour. This was a really big deal for us, because we wanted to take part in everything we had planned for the day.
Our sunset pictures were by the beach and I was ready to climb rocks,etc for Rachel...lol. I couldn't wait to see the pics and less than two months later not only did we make her blog but we had our pics! They were beautiful!! I think I went through them every day for two weeks : ) We are still getting compliments on the pics. Since many of our friends and family did not get to go to Hawaii for our wedding, the pictures really capture the whole day and gave them an inside look to the happiest day of our lives.

We love Rachel! My sister chose her as her wedding photographer and after seeing her photos I was convinced! Rachel is very nice and easy going and makes you feel very comfortable which is key to capturing great photos! She was very flexible and made sure to accommodate our every request including a group photo which could be challenging to capture but she did with ease! We can't wait to see our wedding photos and would definitely choose her again!

I had the fortune of having Rachel for my photographer in my wedding in April 2012. I chose carefully, as my husband and I had a small wedding of 40 people and we wanted the pictures to convey the cozy, intimate feel of the wedding, without making the party look sparse. We also did not want the veneer of a glitzy, polished wedding, with the typical canned shots of the wedding party (we ended up getting some of these anyway, because there were so many people that wanted group shots, but she made these look candid and charming). Rachel was delightful when we met her before the wedding and listened closely to the tone we wanted. On the day of the wedding, she was prompt, courteous, and invisible. Given that the wedding chapel was very small, it would have been very easy for her to be distracting to the wedding service, amidst the background of camera clicks and flash photography, but everyone at the service said that she performed beautifully and unobtrusively. When it came to the wedding party shots, she accomplished these efficiently and in record time (not easy in a small chapel that turns over services every 1.5 hours) and released my long-suffering wedding party to the festivities early. She then took my husband and me to a nearby beach and took many shots that appeared to be taken at multiple sites (so diverse were the backgrounds). And none of the pictures included a crowd full of people (or even a single extra person,despite being on the busy Ala Moana beach; I still don't know how she accomplished this). And the shots that she was able to obtain, well, let me just say that although I felt beautiful on my wedding day, she had the talent to make me even appear more so. At the end of the night, Rachel stayed well past the appointed time with no extra charge. It is no wonder that she is able to retain her wedding clients for their first baby and onwards. Should I ever need a photographer in the future, I would be foolish to not use her services again.

I absolutely cannot say enough good things about Rachel Robertson. We booked Rachel for our destination wedding in September 2012 and are so glad we did. The hardest thing about booking a Destination wedding is having to have so much faith in your vendors based only on reviews and recommendations. You don't get to meet them until in our case the day of the wedding and you have to be so trusting that they will deliver what they say they are going to.

Rachel delivered everything she said she would plus so much more. We couldn't have been more happy with our photographs, they were just as beautiful as the ones she posts on her website / blog and captured all the special moments of our big day. Everybody that sees them is so amazed and thinks they are just devine - as do we!!

Rachel is such a joy to work with from compiling the first quotation right through to delivery of your photos well ahead of the timescales she promises in your contract. She is super responsive to emails, helpful on location ideas (which is ideal when you don't really know the area), professional, so much fun and relaxed to work with and has such a creative eye when it comes to what is going to work.

I couldn't be more thankful that we found Rachel as having an excellent photographer was one aspect of our wedding day that I wanted to be perfect and was not willing to compromise on.

My only regret was that we didn't book her for longer or have an engagement shoot so we had more photos we could treasure forever!

My wife and I were more than pleased with the service that Rachel provided. Speaking from the groom's point of view, meeting Rachel was a moment of relief. My bride and I were not able to meet with the photographer before the wedding so we did not know what to expect. My bride spent a lot of time looking for the "right" photographer, and although she started to drive me crazy, when she started telling me about Rachel's site, I knew we'd be going with her. She was prompt in all of our communications and her prices were more than reasonable compared to other photographers.

Rachel was a calming force right before one of the biggest moments of my life. She told me what I had to do, what she would be doing and not to worry. I knew that she had been taking pre-wedding pictures with the bride and knew I'd be hearing great things later. Rachel went above and beyond in respect to her interactions with my bride. She was well aware of our time constraints and did everything in her power to accommodate. She told us exactly how to pose and was more than willing to take ideas and suggestions. She even went out of her way to make sure we got a few perfect pictures on an outrigger canoe.

Our Hawaiian wedding could not have gone better and now we have the perfect pictures to remember them by. Rachel is what the aloha spirit is all about.

I would highly highly highly recommend Rachel Robertson Photography for your photography needs. We were planning our wedding in Hawaii from Seattle, Washington, so had to do all planning over the phone and email. Rachel was very responsive, which I cannot say for the typical Hawaiian vendor (you know that aloha spirit we all love). Not only did Rachel make the process easy for us by asking all the right questions and being readily available during the entire planning process, she also recommended other wedding vendors that we could work with who are repeatable. Due to budget we were only able to have Rachel for a certain amount of time at our wedding, she was scheduled to leave right before our parent dances and she offered to stay a bit long to capture these important moments. And need I say her work is absolutely amazing! We have received numerous compliments on her work. Rachel is really easy to interact with, very professional and extremely talented. We will also recommend her for any photography needs!

I wish I could rate her with a million stars...I so hate being limited to 5, especially when you find someone who is as amazing as Rachel is.

First off, I'm not the bride, I'm the mother of the bride, and I'm also a very addicted scrap-booker, keepsake keeper, etc. For over 15 years I have loved photography as a hobby and have taught others how to preserve and protect their cherished photos, so…. to say I wanted a really good photographer for my ONLY daughter's wedding is sort of an understatement. The pictures were absolutely the most important part of the wedding day to me. They would be the preservation of memories, literally, that she and her husband would have to cherish forever. Having a mom with Alzheimer's, you learn real fast that sometimes photo's are the only link you have to a memory.

So I wanted the best, and Rachel delivered. When I started searching for a photographer, I had more than just someone who could take good pictures in mind . I wanted someone who could "connect" with my daughter & her husband. I knew that if they felt comfortable, every bit of the joy they felt, and the love they shared would come through in the photographs. My daughter was very uncomfortable with being the "center of attention", and her husband by nature is VERY shy until you get to know him. I needed to find just the right person who could make them feel relaxed, like they were with an old friend, especially since they wouldn’t get to meet her until the wedding day. I talked to several photographers whose work I admired, but Rachel had an ease about her that I noticed upon our first conversation. It's as if you've known her for years even though you've never met. Since we don't live in Hawaii, our first "meeting"was on the phone and I knew immediately that this was the right person. Sure I had seen her work on line, but it was her immediate and genuine understanding of what I was looking for that made us connect. She wasn't just saying what I wanted to hear. She's relaxed, fun, & super easy to talk to. She has great ideas, gives good direction, and keeps things running smoothly. She can adapt to changes quickly and does so without getting flustered, which is awesome because no matter how well you plan, at weddings things sometimes don't go the way you thought they would! I reserved her almost 2 years ahead of time! :) (Did I mention that my daughter and I are both a little OCD?)

When we got the pictures back, (which was sooner than we were told) I was ecstatic. There were so many things that I never even knew she got. We allowed extra time between the wedding and the reception so she could take them to an area of the beach that wasn't as crowded and she made wonderful use of some areas of the hotel that I would have never thought about. I didn't want a bunch of posed family shots that no one really cares about a couple of years later…I wanted images that captured the details, the emotion, the moment. Rachel is just so creative and talented and I am absolutely thrilled that I found her, she gave us everything we wanted and more! Like someone else mentioned, if Rachel's already booked on your date…change your date if pictures are important to you! I whole-heartedly recommend Rachel Robertson Photography.

Oh! On a side note, my daughter and I decided to fly to Hawaii a year before the wedding to actually nail down some other things, and since we were there, we decided to see if Rachel could do a boudoir shoot so my daughter could make a book for her future husband. AMAZING, simply amazing is all I can really say about that! Stunning photo's, comfortable and easy shoot, and a book that ended up being something he wants every year! I told my daughter to tell him "then we have to go back to Hawaii every anniversary so Rachel can take the pictures!"

we chose Rachel because her portfolios automatically stood out to us... they did not look like glorified prom photos, or pictures of people with sticks up their you-know-whats! Rachel takes photos that represent the bride and groom... they are fun, unique, and relaxed, which was such a relief on the crazy wedding day. She was insanely patient and got everything we asked for, even as we were asking for it at the last moment! We did not have an official wedding planner, so Rachel's reminders on the time schedule for some of the shots and events were really helpful, too!

For our short session, we went out surfing in our wedding clothes, and Rachel was gung ho about it! She was patient as we waited for waves that we could ride together, and even while we tried to get our poor dog to stand on a board, too.

Overall, if you are looking for someone who will make you more comfortable and calm during your shoots, is assertive enough to get those pesky lingering family members outta the way, and will go on a little adventure to get the right shots that encompass YOU as a couple, Rachel is your photographer for sure!

Rachel did a great job. She is very fun, creative and enthusiastic while being professional at the same time. She even agreed to come back next summer and shoot a delayed "trash the dress photos" as we were unable to do it after the wedding.

Rachel went above and beyond to help make our wedding great. I've looked at other's wedding photos and our are so much more unique and creative. She had a alot of ideas, however she also asked if there are any shot's or poses that we wanted too.

I highly, highly recommend her and will be using her in the future;)

Rachel is amazing, our photos are absolutely timeless! We did engagement photos with her that are unforgetable. They are photos that your kids will fight over when you pass away.
She was so much fun to work with, my husband who is not very into photos loved it and wanted to do more photos with her.
Rachel caught the essence and personality of everyone at the wedding and reception.

When I first met Rachel I immediately knew she was the photographer for our destination wedding and couldn't wait for my fiance to meet her. Rachel was very easy to work with. Working with Rachel was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! From the moment we contacted her (we found good reviews on Yelp) to the day of, she was easy to reach and very professional.
