For our wedding, we ordered a small cake for us, an assortment of cupcakes, and small desserts for the guests to choose from.

We had many compliments on how delicious everything was. Also, the look of everything was beautiful!

Providence produced a cake that exactly matched the picture in our minds. It tasted fantastic, and we got a ton of compliments on it. We can't wait to eat it again for our anniversary! Providence's prices were also very reasonable compared to other bakeries we looked at.

Providence is amazing! We were able to go in for a tasting and try the flavors we were interested in. She worked with my florist to add flowers to my cake! Providence cakes are always moist! I love her butter cream frosting!

We ordered funfetti cupcakes for our wedding - They turned out amazing and our guests raved about how amazing they were. Our photographer even said that it was the best wedding cake/cupcake he ever had.

They delivered and setup and the display was lovely. The cupcakes were adorable and looked exactly as I had pictured.

Loved how we could get a box of cupcakes with samples of cake flavors. Definitely had a tough time deciding which flavor we wanted as they are all delicious. Love the icing on the cakes as well, a true butter crème, light & fluffy!!! Can't wait to see our gothic style cake for our Halloween wedding. Providence is so excited to do this cake as it's like nothing she's done before, but I know it'll be awesome!!!

Providence is wonderful! Her up beat personality and honest feedback made us end up with a beautiful wedding cake! Not only was it beautiful but it was the best tasking cake we have ever had. She helped us get the look we were going for and was so easy to work with. I promise you she has the best chocolate peanut butter cake you have ever tasted!

Hands down best cake I have ever eaten. Everyone at my wedding was raving at how beautiful and tasty the cake was. I love that they make buttercream look like fondant... Because I love the look of fondant but hate the taste

Providence did a fantastic job with our wedding cake. They were flexible and worked with my indecisiveness. After not being able to find a cake design that I loved, they took elements that I enjoyed and combined them together to make a lovely cake; not to mention delicious!

My cake was so good everyone kept telling me how amazing it was. She is great to work with super nice and the fact the my cake was including in the price of my vendor (the Yorktowne hotel) made things so much easier. I would recommend her even if your not going to the Yorktowne hotel her cakes are soooo good!!!

Providence was excellent from start to finish! She was a pleasure when we first meet with her and I knew we were going to get a cake that we loved. I had previously purchased 3 cakes for my husbands 30th birthday there and once we ate the cakes, I knew I wanted her making our wedding cake! She was able to make each tier of the cake a different flavor to suit my husband ;) We had red velvet cake layered with Cheesecake, amaretto cake layered with cheesecake and the top tier cheesecake only! It was to die for and we received so many compliments. The cakes are so moist and the icing is perfectly smooth and not sugary at all. I always have a problem with sugary icings and this icing was perfect!! The design of the cake was exactly what we wanted, very modern and contemporary. We took in several pictures and she took them and combined the ideas perfectly. I wouldn't go anywhere else for another cake!!

Providence cakes are the best around. I have known her for years and when it was time to pick a cake I went right to her. We had such a great meeting and loved trying each cake! When I showed her a picture I found on pinterest their was no doubt in my mind that she could do it. I knew she would nail it. When I walked into the venue my eyes went right to the cake and my jaw dropped. The most gorgeous cake I have every seen in my life. Everyone their was equally impressed. The smallest details of the cake were perfect- not to mention it was the best tasting cake EVER!!!!! Loved working with her and can't wait to use her cakes in the future!!!!!

Providence did a wonderful job with our wedding cake! We had a chocolate mousse with vanilla cake and another layer of coconut lemon mousse with vanilla cake. It was delicious and looked beautiful! All our guests commented on how it was the most delicious cake they have had at a wedding. I would recommend Providence Bakery to anyone! Thanks again!

I LOVE everything that Providence makes! It makes my mouth water just thinking about it so when I started planning my wedding and we chose a venue outside of Philadelphia I was really bummed! We went to several bakeries and none of them compared. When I expressed my frustration to Providence she volunteered to bring the cake the 2 hour trip herself! YEAH! It was BEAUTIFUL and tasted even better!!!!!!!! My husband who hates cake loved it! Thank you Prov!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our wedding cake was half strawberries and cream flavored, and half dark chocolate and strawberries flavored. Both used fresh strawberries and they were absolutely delicious!! If it's any indication how good this cake was, let's just say I had two and half pieces while at the reception!! It was worth my dress feeling tight the rest of the night!! Thank you Providence for a cake our family and friends are raving about!!

My cake turned out exactly like it was a copy of the one in the picture I provided to the bakery. All the colors looked great and the taste was the most tasteful I have had in Wedding cakes. Everyone loved our Wedding cake at our reception. Still getting great comments from my guests on the wedding cake :)

If I were able to rate Providence higher than a 5.0 I would. They were wonderful to work with. The quality of food there is always top notch and the service and attentiveness of selecting our wedding cake was nothing less than the same. Providence (the owner) sat down with us and worked through exactly what we wanted. It was very stress free and she was wonderful to work with. After that meeting, we never had to talk to them again. They delivered exactly what we wanted with no issues. The cake was absolutely gorgous and tasted amazing. It was a red velvet cake with a butter cream icing. I can't wait to have it again at our one year anniversary. My husband and I both felt that we got an extremely good deal for what we paid. I would highly recommend Providence for your wedding cake needs or any other special event. Their food is amazing!!!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Providence. The cakes are to die for and they have so many different flavors it was hard to choose from. We had a 3 layer cake and every layer was a different flavor. All layers were delicious and moist. Blueberry lemon with fresh blueberries, Tandycake & Lemon Raspberry. I cant wait to go back and order more cakes from her as she is a true genius! I provided a vision of what I wanted with gum paste orchids and she made them look so great everyone thought they were real! Amazing is all I have to say!!!

Providence cakes are simply the best! I've been to a number of weddings over the summer, so I've had a lot of wedding cake recently... I could definitely tell the difference between a Providence cake and other cakes. At every wedding with a Providence cake, all the guests are talking about it. They are the most beautiful, most professional, and best tasting cakes of them all.

WE LOVE PROVIDENCE!

Providence bakery did an awesome job with our wedding cake (and shower cake too!) Not only was the cake beautiful but we got so many compliments on it! She had many choices of flavors of cakes and fillings to choose from and it was hard to narrow down our choices because they were all so good! We ended up choosing a different flavor for each layer of the cake. They were very professional and easy to work with. People are still asking me about where I got the cake!

Prov's cakes are AMAZING. Anyone in the area should definitely consider her. When I was choosing my baker, her name was always the first out of everyones' mouths.

Providence came as a word-of-mouth recommendation from a few sources, mainly women who worked with my mom. She was wonderful to work with, a great value and the cake was astounding. She readily welcomed my mother, grandmother and me into her home for a cake taste-testing (hubby was sick and will forever regret being unable to make it) and then discussed TONS of ideas with us before settling on the right one. She's very patient and does a wonderful job: people actually ate our wedding cake. Try the white cake with strawberry filling (real strawberries!!).

I used Providence for my wedding cake, and also for some assorted pastries that we served later in the reception.

We got a four tiered cake made of the strawberries and cream cake. It was, by far, the most delicious wedding cake I have ever had. Our guests kept telling us how much they loved the cake. The cake was so delicious that, whenever my parents were in the area of the bakery during the months before the wedding, they would come up with an excuse to go to the bakery to pick up a small cake to take home.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars for flexibility is that she will only take tasting appointments on Mondays during business hours. My husband and I live in Pittsburgh and could not take off work to attend the tasting. However, when we told Providence that we couldn't come in for it, she asked us when we would be in town on a weekend, and prepared a box with four little cakes of our choice that we could take with us to try. After that, I told my mom exactly how I wanted the cake to look, and she went in on a Monday and explained it to her. We got exactly what we wanted, the cake was beautiful and looked just how I wanted it to look.

We also ordered fruit tarts, brownies, and macarons for later in the reception. I only got to eat the fruit tart, but it was delicious, and everyone raved about the other goodies as well.

All in all, I am thrilled with how my cake and the treats turned out.

Cake was absolutely delicious and exactly what we wanted. The delivery was a little pricey and they were also unable to do a shape cake for my grooms cake, but the product we ordered and received was flawless.

We were very please with our baker. Our cake turned out gorgeous and tasted amazing! Most of the contact was in person or over the phone because they weren't great with keeping up with emails. Didn't cause too much trouble, but just be aware of this.

I ordered my 3 tier wedding cake from Providence and I couldn't have been happier. Since our first taste testing we have ordered cakes 3 different times since, we just can't get enough of the cakes. There is a large variety to choose from, all very delicious. The cake looked exactly how I envisioned it. I would definitely recommend Providence!

Providence replicated a photo that we brought to the tasting for our wedding. She did a wonderful job and the cake was moist and flavorful, even the fondant tasted good! We had lots of leftover cake as well because the cake was so big. I would definitely recommend her and have confidence in her abilities to not only make a cake look beautiful but to taste delicious as well. My only advice to her would be to make a website!

Providence Spotts is a truly gifted baker and such a visionary! She helped me decide on a cake that really let my and my groom's playful personalities show:) I decided on a cupcake tower with vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with a 8" round red velvet cake on top. You'd think these are pretty basic flavors but the taste of each blew us all away!! Not just ultra-sweet and sugary, but you really tasted the vanilla, the chocolate and the cocoa of the red velvet. We also order 5 desserts from her as well for our dessert table and they were just to die for! Each looked like a work of art to the point that you almost didn't want to eat it, but rather just admire! But needless to say, they were a crowd pleaser and went very quickly at the reception. We were amazed at the selection of desserts she offers outside of her extensive wedding cake flavors. I'd would recommend her for any special occasion. I ordered a chocolate peanut butter cake from her for my bridal shower as well. What an indulgent treat!! I have a bad feeling that most couples just order their special occasion and wedding cakes from the grocery store, but for the same price Providence is much much better and can't be beat:)

We had a great feeling after our first meeting and tasting with Providence. Shortly after we chose them for our wedding cake. Our cake was fairly complex, with 4 different flavors (just had to choose since we loved them all) and 4 tiers. There was just two of the layers that were switched from what we discussed in our meeting which is the only reason for our quality of service rating. Overall the cake was still absolutely beautiful and amazingly delicious. The cake was very moist and everyone loved it! We were mostly sold by the fact that you no longer had to freeze the topper and save it for the one year anniversary. Providence offered, with a month notice, a fresh new cake for our one year anniversary! She even delivered the cake to our location free of charge. We would highly recommend and definitely use them again for our next event!

I must admit that I was hesitant to choose Providence to make our wedding cake because of previous reviews. In the end, everything turned out perfect! The cake was exquisite, exactly what I envisioned. We live in Miami, FL and planning a wedding from so far away was very difficult. I had to send photos of what I wanted to a cell phone number. Just wish she had an e-mail address. There we a few things that we discussed for the cake inwhich a follow up phone call would have been nice. But, the staff was always helpful when I called. The cake itself was delicious, our guests raved about the cake.

Providence divine makes the absolute best cake hands down!! My husband and I ate all of our cake leftovers after the wedding and wanted more! The cake was also beautiful and the staff were super helpful when we were deciding on a design

Our cake was gorgeous and delicious. At our tasting meeting, I gave her a magazine clipping of a cake I loved, and she replicated it. The piping was wonderful. The really great thing about her cakes are the taste! We got the raspberry chambord flavor, and we got a lot of compliments on it at our wedding. I can't wait for our 1-year anniversary cake!!

We used Providence Divine Cakes because it was included in our package at the Yorktowne Hotel. It didn't matter much to me at the time because I'm really not a huge cake person. But after the tasting, we actually had a hard time choosing because everything was so incredibly good! She really has a nice variety to choose from. We ended up picking ricotta for some of the tiers (which I've never even heard of for a cake but wow it was yummy) and amaretto with raspberry filling for the others. We kept the design pretty classic and simple and had her make two of the tiers taller to look like the shape of a top hat. We were very pleased with the results and received tons of compliments from our guests! Can't wait to break into our top tier this July!

My wedding cake was the most delicious wedding cake I've ever eaten. Backstory- I LOVE cake, but I almost never like cake at a wedding. I think it is the fondant! This one was sooooooo good though.
I requested something unusual and Providence was intrigued and wanted to give it at try. About 10 days before the wedding she did a test and it wasn't quite right. A main problem was that it was missing one of the key ingredients as a filling. Eventually, we got that sorted and by the wedding, we had a perfect and delicious cake on our hands and our guests were raving about it.
My only complaint is that communication was a bit tricky. The assistants are well trained in quickly professing that Providence is too busy to speak to you and also in arguing that they are right, we are wrong (how could that be?) instead of listening first. The way they keep track of correspondence could use some work, they didn't have the photos we sent through and we had to be super SUPER clear triple checking that they knew what we wanted (luckily we did this or we would have had something totally different).
All that being said, the final product was excellent, absolutely wonderful, and perhaps they could benefit from an extra hand on deck or one less cake per week or something.

Our wedding cake from Providence Divine Cakes was absolutely beautiful! Providence and her team did an amazing job bringing my vision to life. In the beginning, I was disappointed that they only offer wedding cake tastings on Mondays between 9a-5p, because I had to miss work and my fiance, who lives out of state, was unable to attend do to his work schedule. Except for this small inconvenience, my experience with Providence Divine Cakes was fantastic!

Providence Spotts provides the wedding cakes for the Yorktowne Hotel reception packages. The cakes taste absolutely wonderful!!! They were able to make the exact cake we wanted with 2 different flavors on alternating tiers. My husband even came up with his own flavor mixing different fillings and they made it happen. The cake was on time, perfectly decorated, and very fresh.

My only complaint was that our initial meeting was very rushed. We drove over an hour to get there (were given incorrect directions over the phone by a very rushed woman) and then had about 20 minutes to decide on our cake. We met with the owner who was much more relaxed and customer oriented than the woman behind the counter - but we would have liked more time. They had to leave and deliver a cake so our meeting was kept brief.

Aside from the initial meeting -the quality of the cake and decorating was superb. We even got a replica tier made for my wedding shower. The cakes are one of the best in this area for freshness and taste - our guests ate almost the entire cake, and we took a few slices home (as well as the top tier) because people were asking for more the next day!

Providence did a great job. My guests continue to rave about how great that cake was. If you remember to order it, she will make you a fresh 1 year anniversary cake to celebrate that for free! She made the cake exactly as I wanted it. I wanted a specific lacy rose pattern and she did it, no problem, no extra charge! Plus she's just really really fun to work with.

My family used to own a bakery, so it was crucial that I had an amazing wedding cake. After consultations with two other bakeries, I was so relieved when I found Providence. She showed us tons of pictures to figure out exactly what we wanted, and the cake itself was TO DIE FOR!!! It was great, other than one detail that was missed on the cake design, and I would recommend her, if you don't mind that they lacked some organization and communication.

**On a side note-- please make sure you keep the board that the cake is delivered on. I was not told I needed to keep it (too many other things to worry about during my wedding anyway) and it's a $50 charge for not returning it!! That was a shocker that I wasn't too happy about!

Overall, my husband and I were incredibly satisfied with the cake we received from Providence for our wedding. It was exactly what we ordered and it tasted delicious. The only small issue we had was in regards to responsiveness - the owner will be the first to admit that she doesn't check her email very often, so that leaves either phone or in-person appointments (and bridal appointments are only on Mondays). That being said, we had a couple "special requests" with our cake, each of which the bakery was very flexible with, and was able to incorporate into our wedding cake.

Our cake was absolutely delicious. We got a ton of comments from guests at the wedding how delicious the cake was. And it looked exactly like the picture we wanted it modeled after. They have a ton of different options to choose from. In the first meeting, we got to try a few different options we were considering, which made the decision much easier. They are able to make beautiful cakes without using fondant, and instead use delicious buttercream. They also have sheet cakes available that mock your wedding cake if you’re looking to save a little money, which we were (they would rather you do that than buy grocery store sheet cakes and pass them off as Providence cakes). The decorations they are able to create are outstanding. Another plus is that they deliver (for a fee of course). They will also make you a 1-year anniversary “top tier” so that you don’t have to freeze the original.

The only issue we had was with contacting the owner, who originally met with us regarding everything and was great then. They have a "no re-consultations" policy, so I would make sure you know exactly what you want when you go for your initial meeting. When we first met, I wasn't sure about the exact design I wanted for the cake, so we decided on something, I then changed my mind within the week (still about 6 months out from the wedding). When I went back to discuss the change, I couldn't talk to the owner even though she was there because of their policy, so a staff member had to walk between me and the owner in the back to communicate each message. I gave them a picture, and they originally said they wouldn't do the colors I wanted because they didn't match my wedding colors. I still wanted that cake though, so I had to keep stating I wanted it even though it didn’t match the wedding colors. They finally agreed. Kind of strange.

I have never actually enjoyed wedding cake before but every guest not only mentioned it but raved about how delicious it was! I highly recommend the black and white cake as the cheesecake adds a whole new level to the cake. They do get a little picky regarding extra decorations and the cost of them but the cake is so good it's worth it

Providence cakes are to die for, however the service at the bakery is to be desired. After our meeting with Providence, it took THREE months to receive a contract in the mail. Once we got it; there were errors and it took another few weeks to get that adjusted. While I was waiting for the contract (I was told it would take 1 month), the girls in the front acted like I was stupid for calling about it to make sure it didn't get lost or anything. Also, the day before my wedding I received a phone call from the bakery telling me that they cannot use the flowers that I have provided. I asked if they could just figured it out....this wasn't really what I wanted to deal with the day before my wedding.....they are the professionals in the business, not me.....they did figure it out and the cake was gorgeous.
If you're willing to wait forever for an appointment and then another few months for a contract and deal with some snotty phone calls and a delicious cake, then Providence is your place for your wedding cake!

We ordered several cakes for our wedding from Providence instead of ordering a wedding cake. We weren't able to meet for a consultation (totally inflexible hours!!!) and their prices were so high for a wedding cake that we decided to just order 5 12" cakes to feed 150 people. We have over half left of each still in our freezer - you get way more than you pay for so we recommend going that route if you don't want a tiered cake (or don't care either way).

Why all the hassle? Their cakes are hands down the best in the York/Harrisburg area.

I had heard through word-of-mouth that Providence Cakes were one of the best in the area. I was disappointed to find that they do not have a web site. What professional business in this day and age does not own at least a very simple web site. I discovered that the owner, Providence Spotts had a Facebook page, and proceeded to message her my questions regarding wedding cake testings that way... Never received a response. My last attempt was to visit the bakery itself. I, my fiance, and my mother went in to the bakery to ask about the process of setting up a cake tasting. It just so happened that it was my birthday in the coming week as well, so we wanted to order a simple cake for that as well. The girl at the counter was VERY rude, and short with her answers, stating that to order a cake, we would have needed to do so much earlier, and that we had better be "prepared" with ideas if we decided to do a wedding cake consult with Providence because she does not like when a couple comes unprepared. Aside from the terrible staff (I can only speak for the one employee who waited on us), the cake itself was not good. The butter cream frosting tasted to me like frosting mixed with a tub of margarine. Too buttery - not sweet! I also ordered a specific flavor for my cake, and could not taste that flavor whatsoever. Overall, I was terribly disappointed, as I went into the ordeal excited about my future wedding cake! What a way to be treated.

I really wanted to use Providence Cakes based on a referral and also because the look of the cakes are gorgeous. BUT....after 4 weeks of dealing with trying to finalize everything I decided that the lack of customer service I received is the reason I will not go forward with an order. If your first impression is not good and you feel there is a lack of service on follow up and your gut keeps telling you something is off... listen!

Worst vendor of my wedding experience... We paid for our cake in full when we signed the agreement. When we called with the final count, which was spot on with the agreement, we were told that due to the increased cost of flour and other products we had to pay an additional $100. Then, they were given a window of time to deliver the cake but instead arrived a half hour after the latest time; therefore setting up when our guests were enjoying cocktail hour. That wouldn't be an issue but I had multiple guest tell me how rude they were to them, telling them to "move out of our way" and wearing an old tee shirt with many holes in it (one guest took pictures). Next, the design of the cake was not at all what we chose from her designs. If it didn't match our color scheme we would have thought it was someone else's cake. We also had to move up our cake cutting because of photographer noticed the cake was actually falling apart. Luckily, a friend is a baker and was able to work with our caterers to salvage the cake for pictures. When I returned the rods and plates I asked to speak with Providence and was told she was unavailable. They wrote down a message for her to call me. Three days later, no call so I called. They said she had the original message but they'd take another. The next week, still no call so I called again and she answered but rushed me off the phone, asking me to email the pictures. No reply after a week so I emailed again. Finally a reply but refused to do anything. I gave up the fight after that but want to make sure no other bride has to go through this stress. Even our wedding planner said she would make sure other couples she worked with didn't waste their money on her services.

The Yorktowne Hotel required I used Providence for my wedding cake. So many people raved on the quality of Providence cakes, I didn't request a change. However, no one warned me they will DELIVER THE WRONG CAKE the day of the wedding. No follow-up with me to apologize, either. They DROPPED AND RAN. Apparently, I wasted hours driving in from Philadelphia to pick a perfect wedding cake - colors, shapes, layers, flavors, flowers, etc. A generic white circular cake sat on a table at the reception. No pretty purple square layers. I even went in to the shop a few days before the wedding to confirm everything was a go and drop off my cake topper. They showed me the paper outlining all of the details I spent hours defining with Providence stapled to the sample pictures. They later told the Yorktowne staff I never picked out my cake. To DENY they screwed up is even more UNPROFESSIONAL! NEVER USE PROVIDENCE!
