Made our wedding the best night for all!

Jim and Phil were incredible to work with. From our first meeting to the night of the wedding, we knew we were in good hands. Their knowledge of all music genres and how to build a dance floor ensured that our wedding would be exactly what we imagined. Our wedding took place at Lake Lawn Resort with a lot of moving pieces - from setting up music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and eventually the reception. We know how much work and movement that entailed, and Phil took care of it all gracefully and positively. The dance floor was packed the entire night and, months later, guests are still commenting on the music! We are so grateful to Jim and Phil for all the work that went into making our night so fun and memorable. They are truly the best!

Best Wedding DJ!!!

DJ Phil and his team were great to work with! He was able to MC and played great tunes all night long. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding DJ. Thank you!

Priority Entertainment is the best!

I would highly recommend Priority Entertainment! Great music during dinner and after dinner, the dance floor was packed the entire night! The next day many guests said their “legs hurt” from all the non-stop dancing!! Jim was great to work with!

Great Experience

Very attentive to your wants and needs. If there is a script he doesn’t go off script. Understands how to keep the party going. Did my wedding and has done several of them that I have attended. Consistently delivers. No surprises son a day you don’t want any.

Dance Floor Be Poppin'

My wife Lauren and I hired Jim as he was referred to us by 3 separate family members/friends; 2 on her side and one on mine and we are SO HAPPY we did.

The dance floor was never empty; friends and family alike were scream-singing along all night! Lauren's aunt said her husband (who hasn't danced at a wedding in 20+ years) was dancing...A family friend who recently had surgery (and was on crutches) was dancing.. Over Thanksgiving and Christmas we heard countless stories of how no one wanted to leave the dance floor, and we have Jim to thank!

The only thing we heard more than "Congratulations" was, "the music is amazing!!"

He worked with us to make sure everything was perfect.. from the cocktail hour, to the wedding party intros... to the maid of honor RAP speech...

He is fun, professional and personable.. BOOK HIM! Your guests will not be disappointed!

(oh and besides music... the up-lighting was lovely)

Dance floor was packed!

Jim was fantastic to work with. From our initial phone call to the last dance, he exuded professionalism and brought the fun! Planning was a breeze; he had thorough questionnaires and timeline documents to work with. All of that coupled with his timing and ability to read the room - the event was flawless. We had some obscure songs and tunes like the theme from the A-Team, and none of it was an issue for Jim. We highly recommend him and his team.

Couldn’t be happier! Made our Night!

First of all we set our wedding date on Jim’s availability. If that in itself doesn’t say he’s the best... I don’t know what does. He exceeded every expectation. We had very specific song selections for dinner. He played everything we asked for. The dance floor rocked all night!!! This is no ordinary DJ Jim is a true master of ceremonies, Such a professional.

Priority Entertainment

I have always been impressed with the service and quality of Priority Entertainment. I have seen them at a number of events and they always do a bang up job, but when it came to my own wedding I could never have asked for anything better. The owner, Jim, was able to DJ for the event and needless to say he provided an electrifying atmosphere for us and all of our guests. Myself and most of the guests could not get off the dance floor. Every time you thought you wanted to take a quick break you were mistaken and one hit rolled after the other.
I am so thankful for all of the hard work, personal touches, and extraordinary care this company took in creating the perfect night. They go above and beyond! Never a better DJ in my book.

Excellent DJ!

Jim and Priority Entertainment were so much fun to worth with and made our reception such a blast! Jim was a great MC for the evening. He read the crowd and kept everyone, all ages, on the dance floor all night. One of my bridesmaids is getting married next year and she didn’t even bother talking to other DJs - Priority Entertainment was the first vendor she booked. Highly recommend booking them for your event!

Great experience!

Having a good DJ was one of the most important things for us and Jim did a great job! I wouldn’t change a thing—everyone was dancing the entire night (our guests still can’t stop saying how fun it was). Thank you so much!

Great Wedding DJ

Priority Entertainment was excellent throughout the whole wedding process. Our DJ had a great ideas and suggestions that made our special day easier. Fantastic!

Priority Entertainment was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! Jim was extremely responsive leading up to the wedding and really took the time to listen to what kind of music and feel we wanted for the day/night making the planning for this piece a breeze! And for day of I literally dont have enough good words to describe the experience; he stayed on top of the timeline, made announcements for our sweet table, late night snack, and shuttles without ever being asked to(!) which was awesome, but most important he really set such a great tone for the whole evening and our dance floor was filled the entire night! Truly grateful for such a wonderful experience!!

Best Dance Party

I have been to quite a few weddings with this company as the DJ, especially with Jim. They never disappoint! The dance floor is continually packed with people having a great time. They are extremely professional. In my opinion, the dance party at the wedding is what so many people remember. We guided them with our favorite songs and style, and they managed to put together an epic playlist. If we had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing about the DJ company. Everyone had an amazing time

Jim from Priority Entertainment DJ-ed our wedding and everyone had an incredible time, the dance floor was packed the entire night! Before the wedding we met with Jim to go over all of the songs and details so that on the actual wedding day, I was so reassured that everything was taken care of!

Excellent!!!

Jim met every expectation we had for an amazing DJ for our wedding! He was organized and did a great job preparing everything needed to execute a flawless event! We were able to add lighting and a photo booth for a very reasonable price and both were great additions to our day! He was able to read our crowd and played a perfect mix of music for all age ranges and easily incorporated our ‘must play’ songs. Highly recommend!

Best DJ / All music

Our meetings prior to the big day were very informative. They provided us with the proper paperwork which made the process of choosing songs extremely simple. On the day, our DJ arrived early and was ready before I was. There were no issues with our outdoor music and everyone was able to hear it. During the reception, the music we wanted to hear was played all night and our dance floor was packed the entire evening! At the end, the bride had the last song of the night! I would recommend these DJs for any and every occasion.

I wouldn't use anyone else!

Priority Entertainment provided DJ Services to our family for both of our daughter's weddings. Jim was absolutely amazing. He really was able to read the crowd and play exactly the right music at the right time. He also was tremendous at guiding the events during the night, from announcement of the bridal party to the last dance. DJ's can make or break your event. Everyone at both of our events was impressed by our DJ. I would heartily recommend them to everyone!

Amazing DJ!

Jim was absolutely outstanding in every way! From the very first meeting until the end of the night, he was everything we could have hoped for. Pre-wedding he was easy to contact, accommodating in when/where to meet, and took copious notes. We had a bit of a last-second bridal party emergency literally the night before the wedding and Jim easily and cheerfully made adjustments to announcements and such on the fly. During the wedding he managed to keep everyone on the dance floor with a great feel for the room. Before the reception got started he even saw me having a heart-to-heart with my 95-year-old grandmother, and noticing that the photographer was still outside, snapped some candid shots for us! The guests loved him, we loved him, and I’m sure you will too!

Jim was so professional when we met with him to discuss the music for our wedding. I got so many compliments from friends and family on how awesome our DJ and the music was. We never had an empty dance floor. He catered to all different age groups and kept the bride and groom's interests and wishes in mind. He kept everything going smoothly. I can’t say enough great things about Priority Entertainment. We had Neil as our DJ and he did a wonderful job. He had everyone dancing until the last song. I was the third girl in my family to use Jim Butkus and Priority Entertainment. They did a FANTASTIC job! Jim was very professional and organized. Phil was the DJ at the wedding and he did an absolutely wonderful job!!! Guests commented on how amazing the DJ was. I wouldn't go with anyone else!!!!!

Working with Priority Entertainment was the best decision we could have made for our wedding. Both Jim and Neil were extremely professional, responsive, and flexible to ensure that our wedding day went as smoothly as possible. Neil was our DJ and was awesome - he brought great energy, had a really good mix of songs which kept the dance floor busy all night, and was fun to work with. What set Priority Entertainment apart for us and why we initially decided to move forward with them was because they didn't treat as just a number or booking on their busy summer calendar, but took time to understand what was most important to us which was really refreshing. Matt was our DJ and he was phenomenal! We had music before the wedding ceremony, for the professional/recessional, and at the reception. He emcee'd the entire night perfectly! We got a ton of compliments on the music, and the dance floor was packed from start until finish! We highly recommend the services of Priority Entertainment. Our only regret is not tipping Matt more money!

We kept hearing about Jim & Phil through multiple recommendations. After meeting with them, we knew why. From the beginning they were set on giving us a wonderful & memorable experience. And that they did! We met with them in the beginning so they could get a sense of what services we were interested in (DJ, tent uplighting, flat screens to play our picture slideshow & photobooth), as well as the overall vision/tone for the reception. Jim was prompt to respond to any questions via email. The contract was very clear & easy to understand. A few weeks prior to the wedding, I met with my DJ, Phil, and we finalized the song selections, wedding party lineup and design for the photobooth pictures. Phil surpassed our expections & did an excellent job. He really listened to what we wanted for our music selections & did a great job reading our guests in order to make additional music choices. The music really did make our reception great! We couldn't have been happier & HIGHLY recommend Priority Entertainment.

My husband and I heard great reviews about Priority Entertainment from friends who have used this company for thier own weddings. We could not have been luckier to find such a wonderful business to work with for our wedding reception. I cannot express how wonderful Priority Entertainment was to work with! They have a large, suggested song list for every part of the wedding, such as first dance, reception introduction and the cake cutting (who knew you needed a song for cake cutting). With the help of Jim, our wedding reception was all that we could ever have hoped for. The dance floor was packed the entire evening! We received a lot of positive feedback from our wedding guests on how great the music was for our reception. I would highly recommend using Priority Entertainment. They are organized, professional and do amazing work!

Jim and Priority Entertainment were beyond amazing when it came to making our day perfect. I feel like they went above and beyond, and really listened to what we said as far as music and what we were hoping for. We asked that he make sure everyone was dancing all night long, and I cannot think of a single time when there were not people out on the dance floor!

Having seen Jim and Priority Entertainment DJ's at a few previous weddings, hiring them was a no-brainer! Jim did a great job making my husband and I feel comfortable throughout the entire planning process. We were confident from the beginning that the night would run smoothly as Jim puts an emphasis on his timeline and the flow of the reception. Jim also proactively reached out to the venue and management on-site to ensure they were all on the same page. This allowed us to relax and enjoy ourselves at the reception. Jim allowed us to customize a lot of the music, while still playing music that is pleasing to all attendees. We are thrilled with the result, and have received many compliments from our guests about the music. I would highly recommend Jim and Priority Entertainment for any wedding, party, or event that requires a DJ.

Jim and the folks at Priority Entertainment did a fantastic job at our wedding. During the planning stages, they were very flexible and Jim walked us through everything we needed. We could be as specific as we wanted with the music but they were ready to fill in the blanks and make suggestions. The music choices ended up being perfect, as were the pace, the volume and the mix. Everything was great. Also, the up-lighting looked spectacular. It was professional and fun at the same time. We received many compliments from our guests and we have recommended Priority to our friends.

Priority Entertainment did a fabulous job on our wedding! Before I became engaged, I have been to weddings with Priority Entertainment and there was a bunch of positive feedback. James has been a family friend for many years and there was no question as to whom Youry and I would get to DJ. James' professionalism, from responding to emails and phone calls in a timely manner to catering to our music choice, was wonderful. We would highly recommend Priority Entertainment!

Book Jim for your wedding! I GUARANTEE you he will not disappoint! From blending my husband and my music styles together as well as making sure the guests loved the music he was the best. He also made sure intros, toasts, garter, bouquet toss and all announcements were made. Truly a very talented entertainment professional who will not leave your dance floor empty that's for sure!

The moment that we met with Jim and Matt, we knew that these were the type of people we wanted to DJ our wedding. Fun, laid back and, most importantly, NOT CHEESY!

We met with Matt about 2 weeks before the wedding, dropped of a list of songs and that were good to go. He totally understood where we were going with our wedding and our crowd. My parents, who are in their late 60's, danced almost the entire wedding! Not only that, at the end of the night, we were expecting to have 20 people still left on the end of the dancefloor, we actually ended up with about 100. This is the mark of a good DJ (and a well-stocked bar).

Priority Entertainment, specifically Jim Buttkus, was amazing at our wedding. We couldn't have been happier with his professionalism, accuracy, and entertainment. Planning a wedding can be stressful but when you have vendors like Priority Entertainment, you do not have to worry about people enjoying themselves. Our dance floor was packed the ENTIRE night. My husband and I loved working with Jim at Priority Entertainment! It was an easy choice to have Jim from Priority Entertainment as our wedding day DJ. Jim has a lot of experience working with couples who are of Irish descent, which was a huge plus for us. We wanted to incorporate some irish music into our wedding since we would be having irish dancers and we would be doing some group irish dancing with guests.

Jim was truly a pleasure to work with! Jim even gave us a recommendation for our photographer, who was outstanding as well! He is personable, professional, organized, and competent. He asked us some great questions during our in-person meetings to get us thinking about the wedding day timeline and reassured us that he would make sure to keep things moving on the wedding day (e.g., transitioning from cocktail hour to reception) since timeliness was very important to us. We, along with our guests, had a blast dancing at our wedding! At one point in the night, we are pretty certain there were at least 200 people on the dance floor during a Zumba-style routine to "Timber" led by my sister. Wow! The dance floor was packed the whole time, which was exactly what we wanted.

We highly recommend Priority Entertainment to anyone looking for one of the best DJs in the business! Thank you for making our reception so enjoyable!

Jim and Priority Entertainment were the BEST choice for our wedding day musical needs. At our first meeting, we told Jim that above all, we wanted to throw the best party we have ever thrown. Priority Entertainment helped make our wedding perfect. We had a beautiful venue for our reception - The University Club of Chicago. We knew the food, the decorations and view would be great but we wanted our guests to have a great time. The biggest part of that was the music. We had initially talked about getting a band but really hoped for a great variety of music that would keep everyone dancing so we went with a DJ. Everyone wants one of those weddings where as soon as the dance floor opens up, people get out there and stay out there. People had an amazing time - the floor was packed the whole night. We worried ahead of time whether we could make everyone happy - if the older crowd would get their share of music and still keep it a great party. Somehow DJ Matt and Priority Entertainment pulled it off.

Priority Entertainment were super easy to get along with and plan the event. Their interactions with us right before the wedding and during the event were highly professional. We were able to tell them what songs we really wanted to hear and which ones shouldn't make the cut. We told them about some of the requests from our parents and somehow they worked those in as well. One of the biggest things - and one reason we would recommend them to anyone - was that they didn't take over the night. It was our big night and we didnt want the DJ doing a comedy show or auditioning for their next gig. Matt was the perfect blend of staying calm and classy but keeping the night lively and fun.

Our meetings before the wedding were friendly and no stress and they delivered on what they promised. They played everything we wanted and added their own style to keep the party hopping. There were no glitches, skipping songs or inconsistent mixing. Our wedding ended with everyone on the dance floor begging for the night, and the music, not to end.

We have a very large Irish / Italian family, that ranges in ages of 100 to one month old. Now as we were not too worried about accomidating the music in our event for the kids. We did want all the people that traveled from all over creation to enjoy themselves and have something to dance too. We explained this to our D.J. his name was Matt, and he explained how he would be able to accomidate us, by playing certain music at certain times to keep the event rolling perfectly. He did just that, I have had more people tell me that my wedding was one of the best they had been to in a very long time. The music and the lighting he provided made our event stand apart from any other i have ever been to. My wife and myself were very pleased with our interaction with Matt, on a stress filled day he said the one thing you always want to hear "No Problem, I Can Do That".

Jim Buttkus (of Priority Entertainment) DJed our wedding at the Newberry Library on October 20, 2012, and everything went perfectly. Most of our guests weren't the dancing type, but almost everyone was out on the floor. A number of people commented that the playlist was superb. We owe that to Jim, of course, who found the right balance and made the right choices from our own playlist we asked him to consider taking into account. His emcee style is very natural--energetic without being annoying. His timing was perfect on everything. Even meeting with him before the wedding and making the arrangements was fun.

I wish I get married every year so that we could keep using Jim to DJ the party. He was easy to contact and always there for us during our long engagement, and the day of the wedding was 100% stress-free since he had everything covered and kept us in the loop the entire time. We met with Jim a few times prior to our wedding and he was very professional, friendly and attentive. He was extremely accomodating and helpful while we were planning the timeline with ideas on how the night should flow. The night of the wedding he played all the music that we wanted as well as some requests from our guests. It was a great mix of music that kept people out on the dance floor all night! He made annoucements but was unobtrusive- which was exactly what we wanted. We have gotten many compliments on the music at our wedding. I highly recommend Jim for any event that needs a DJ. Jim was our dj for our wedding and from our first meeting, he was great! We used them at our wedding and it turned out fantastic. Not only was Jim very accommodating, he was very easy to work with. He suggested songs and took into consideration our requests. DJ Buttkus was probably the best decision I made when it came to planning our wedding. He was attentive and listened to our needs. We did not want your typical music that is usually played at the wedding, but a more diverse variety to appeal to all ages. DJ Buttkus made this happen without any flaws. He really did more then just provide great music. He made sure that the wedding ran smoothly...making sure everything was on time (bouquet toss, father/daughter dance, etc.). He even takes special requests. It was my dad's bday on our wedding day and wanted to do something special so right after the father/daughter dance, DJ Buttkus made an awesome transition to Happy Birthday and surprised my dad. He made it so very special. Also, the most compliments we received after our wedding was how great the music was! Thank you so much for making our day so very special!!

Jim honestly made our wedding great. To this day, we have people tell us how much fun they had. My friend hired Priority DJ for her wedding and I knew right away that I was going to look into them for my own. They were not only extremely reasonably priced, but very friendly and easy to work with. I loved the ease of selecting the example genres of music for each part of my wedding and then after chatting directly with my DJ a week or so prior, I knew he understood exactly what I wanted. Everything went exactly how we planned it and the dance floor was filled the entire night!

Priority did an excellent job. They were referred to us by a friend and were able to match the lowest price I had received from another DJ. So, based on the referral and the price point, we went with Priority and we were absolutely NOT disappointed! Jim, the owner, was very friendly and accommodating from the start. We met him and our DJ Matt over dinner/drinks. They truly took the time to get to know my husband and I so that they could really make the night as personal as possible. We met a couple of times before the wedding to finalize things. Matt arrived to the venue early to get everything set up and ready to go. We pretty much gave him the freedom to read the crowd and decide what songs to play. He threw some of our recommendations into the mix too (and avoided the songs/genres we asked him not to play). We received so many compliments from our friends/family. Our photographer loved Matt too and asked for his information to recommend Priority Entertainment to other brides/grooms. Priority Entertainment is highly recommended! We loved our DJ so much and know that you will too!
