Paul made our entire wedding! It would not have been the amazing night it was without him on our team. His experience and professionalism led to him almost acting as our wedding coordinator. He set up a timeline for the entire day, he helped us figure out what we were doing at the rehearsal (because honestly we had no clue) and he kept our wedding day moving seamlessly. The pictures were absolutely incredible, he got all the shots we asked for, and he got so many shots we didn’t even think about! The best part was, throughout the entire ceremony and reception, you didn’t even notice he was there. Not that we didn’t love having him! But the guests were never disturbed by him and they (and we) were amazed by the shots he got without ever seeing him. He is an absolute professional, and we will cherish the memories he gave us for the rest of our lives.

Easy to work with & very professional
Working with Paul was easy and stress free. He is extremely professional, but also cool, calm, and collected. He is able to make everyone look great in a phot with simple but effective guidance while shooting. One thing that stood out was how much he pays attention at the venue. Paul was preplanning shots before we ever arrived and had all kinds of ideas based on lighting and weather. The day of, he captured things we weren't even aware of and was flexible in allowing us to interact with guests but still finding time to sneak away for a few photos at at time. We could not recommend Paul enough.

Fantastic Engagement Session!
We worked with Paul for our engagement photos, and it was a dream come true! My partner is on the awkward side, but Paul got him to loosen up and took absolutely stunning photographs. He patiently drove with us to five (!) different locations, and we even had time to change into a second outfit. Plus, he got all of the photos back to us in record time (about a week!). If you're on the fence about hiring Paul I recommend that you absolutely do: he is absolutely a terrific artist, and a wonderful person to work with.

The BEST Wedding Photographer!
I have to start by saying that we struggled in the beginning to find a photographer that fit our budget and someone that was also personable. We were recommended by our reception venue to check out Paul's website and we were not disappointed with what we saw. But I have to say, after doing 3 shoots with him (engagement, bridal, and wedding) I have never been so happy with professional photos in my life!
I doubted myself on doing the bridal portraits, but I'm glad that I was talked into doing them, because he made me feel like a Rockstar! He was very easy to get along with, professional, patient, and full of great ideas. When I had no idea what kind of shoot I wanted, he made some great recommendations and our photos turned out even better than what I could have imagined! He captured all of the special moments from our big day and he even experimented with us on some night photography.
I cannot express enough how lucky you would be to have Paul as your photographer. If you haven't booked him yet and you're still looking, you seriously need to consider him as an option!

Blow away!!! Fun and easy going!
Paul is an amazing photographer!!!! After I was notified my wedding pictures were ready, I couldn't wait to get home to download and look at them all. Once I started looking through the pictures I slowly started to tear up...I was INSTANTLY reliving the day!!! Paul captured everything! And half the time I never even saw him!! He made sure to capture particular shots and moments I was planning or hoping for.
He was also very flexible and accommodating during the various date switches due to Covid-19 pushing everything back multiple times.

Paul was ultimate professional dealing with many last minute changes due to COVID and a rainy backyard ceremony. He was so helpful throughout the process and during the wedding and his endless creativity allowed us to get many incredible shots of our special day. Paul was absolutely amazing to work with. We started planning our wedding before COVID hit, and Paul stuck with us through a great deal of uncertainty, changes in plans, and three different venue coordinators. Exceptional Photographer!
Planning a wedding during a pandemic isn't easy. There are endless changes of plan, and details are hard to pin down. One thing we never had to worry about was the photography. Paul was flexible and reliable every step of the way. He worked so hard to capture every moment of the wedding and reception, and he took gorgeous photos along the way. And if you're camera shy, that's no problem. During portraits, he was great at putting people at ease and telling them just where to put their hands. He's a great photographer to work with, a great guy, and I highly recommend him.

Paul is the best of the best and we would recommend him to anyone wanting to capture any special occasion. He will definitely be our go-to photographer for years to come, as he far exceeded our expectations for both our engagement and wedding photos. They all turned out beautifully. From the first interaction, Paul was very professional and asked us a lot of questions to understand exactly what we wanted. Because his work is so gorgeous, we wanted him to take full creative drive, which he did. Incredible Experience
Paul was incredibly helpful with the entire photography process. He has years of experience and it really shows. This was extremely helpful, because it took pressure off of me regarding creating a shot list. Not only was Paul knowledgeable, but he was also very nice and easy to work with! Paul was a great choice for our wedding. We are so happy with how he was able to get so many of the special moments. Though we haven't seen the photos yet, since we just got married, I would notice something special at the reception, and I'd see Paul not too far away getting a picture of it. I cannot wait to see them, especially of our first dance. We watched a video back, and we didn't even notice that he was getting so many shots of us fairly close by! It didn't interfere at all, and we truly didn't even notice; I'm sure they're going to it's going to be great to have that memory captured.

I cannot say enough about Paul Harrison. He is so amazing in every aspect of his work. As soon as I saw his portfolio on his websites, I knew he had to be my photographer! After speaking with him on the phone, it just reassured my decision. Paul is a very laid back guy, but also means business. He knows how to get things done quickly, but in a calm manner. He put me at ease on our wedding day when several guests tried to take over the photoshoots. He knew exactly how to handle every situation.
His artistic ability is beyond words. His work is so incredible and unique. He truly knows how to capture all the love the my husband and I shared on our engagement shoot and our wedding day. The pictures he took made me cry all over again, because he got our quirks and silly smiles in every picture. Paul brings out the best of you in every picture.
Paul climbed trees, hopped fences, laid down in wet grass, and much more trying to get the perfect shots for us. I couldn't have imagined having a better photographer and at such an affordable price as well. He is so quick to get pictures back to us, I am sure this varies based on his availability and schedule, but we received our pictures in less than 10 days! It was so exciting to get them so quickly, not to mention we got over 600 pictures!!

Paul was very detail oriented, helping to set up a schedule specific to my needs and my desire to not have a first look. He took amazing photos of the entire day, from portraits to candids. My mother was very concerned about a photographer being "intrusive" during intimate parts of the day or during the ceremony, however we all felt that Paul fit in very well, making himself fit in and flow with the group or room to ensure he was capturing moments while not impeding any other activities. He did an amazing job, and to get the photos less than 2 weeks later was a MAJOR treat. I felt very fortunate to get winter pricing with Paul, however I would have been extremely happy with his price regardless. Very please and would recommend in a heart beat.

My husband and I found Paul via a random google search 14 months prior to our wedding. Within a few hours Paul had already made contact, and this began our 14 month working relationship. Paul worked with us on our engagement shoot, bridal portraits, rehearsal dinner, and our wedding. It is not everyday you find someone willing to stick around for a nearly 14 hour day! He is simply a delight to work with, professional, and has a wonderful eye behind the camera. Paul did an excellent job photographing our small wedding ceremony at Williamsburg Winery. He shot about 115 pictures over two hours, creating a nice mood with the lighting, as it was late afternoon and dusk during the photoshoot. He was patient and professional, and had lots of good ideas for more natural poses. The quality of the photos were outstanding, and we were very happy with his service. Paul is a true visionary! He has countless ideas and does a great job using the environment around him to do a thorough shoot! He recently shot our wedding this past Saturday October 7th at Cary Hill plantation in Charles City, Va. We utilized all the space we could and I have no doubt the results will be fantastic as they were for our engagement shoot this past May! He spent a lot of time with us in order to make sure he got every shot he needed and the entire process super easy for us. Most people don't enjoy photo shoots but we had a blast at the engagement shoot, our dinner the night before our wedding, and the day of! He is very professional and took the time to get to know what I was looking for from first contact and meeting up until the wedding. The quality of the photographs are amazing with a mixture of candid and posed. He offered a competitive price that was tailored toward my needs of the day. Lastly the turnaround for receiving the final products was super quick which is great when you are anxious to see the pictures.

Paul is very professional and so easy to work with. I had an incident where my makeup artist was running late for my bridal portraits. When she finally got to me she was over a hour late. I called Paul so upset, just embarrassed about the situation (he was already waiting at the site where the pictures were going to be taken at)- he was so understanding of the situation. When I got there he seemed to take away all of my stress away and helped me to relax to take the most gorgeous bridal pictures ever. The day of my wedding again another makeup artist I hired and paid was backed up in traffic across the bridge and wasn't even going to make it in time. Again I panicked and wanted to cry; Paul came out in the hallway and told me not to be upset and not to let it ruin the day- that the day was going to be just great. Paul truly cares about his customers and you can see and tell just how passionate he truly is about his profession. Everyone that was in our wedding party thought the world of him and everyone that has seen both the bridal portraits and the wedding photos were blown out of the water. I would highly without a doubt recommend anyone to hire Paul. It isn't often you run into a patient, good hearted and understanding photographer. He made my memories wonderful and I am truly thankful for him. Thank you so much Paul- you rock!

My husband and I could not be more thrilled with Paul Harrison Photography. Paul is an amazing photographer and the perfect choice for our wedding. He was beyond accommodating with schedule requests for our engagement shoot and our wedding. He attended our wedding rehearsal to get the 'lay of the land' and I thought that was really above and beyond. I knew from our engagement pictures that the wedding pictures would also be great, and they were. He spent about 10 hours with us that day and captured some great formal shots as well as so many wonderful candid shots. Those are my favorites as I didn't get to see everyone at the reception and it's been so great to review the pictures and see folks. We would for sure use his services again if we ever needed a photographer. We highly recommend him.

It took us over a year to find the right photographer for our wedding. We interviewed several before finding Paul Harrison Photography, quite by accident, online. Fortunately, Paul was available for our wedding in June 2106 with only 4 or 5 months notice.
Paul is very organized and captured the most beautiful moments of our wedding. He took the time with us to discuss each detail and really understood what we were looking for. The quality of photography is incredible and it was clear that Paul invested in professional equipment to enhance his work. Our wedding didn't begin until 3:00 p.m., but Paul arrived promptly at our home at 10:30 a.m. and continued to work until after 9:00 p.m. that evening. This is your guy for weddings! I was planning our event from overseas & in looking for a photographer I had to do all of the research online which made me a bit nervous. I looked at the work from countless photographers & finally ran across Mr. Harrison online. We were getting married in Williamsburg & it appeared that he was very well acquainted with the area & knew all of the "good spots" for photography. In looking at his work it also appeared that he had the ability to shoot a good mix of formal poses along with fun, more laid back looks as well. This could not have been more accurate. From the time I made the call to inquire about availability & pricing I knew that he was the perfect photographer for our event. He was super excited to work with us and spent a significant amount of time on the phone accommodating my calls from overseas. From the beginning he made me feel like my event was on the very top of his priority list & I knew that he had a dedication to making sure that he created the perfect images for us. Mr. Harrison spent a great deal of time getting to know me & getting a feel for what my idea was for our wedding. As I only had a general idea of what I wanted he was able to step in and offer his suggestions based on experience and expertise which was greatly appreciated. When the actual photography begins, he does an amazing job at making you feel comfortable in front of the camera & "coaching" you through the process (for those who need it). He has an organized plan in his mind for the session so that you do not have to figure that out on your own (which I greatly appreciated), but he also makes sure that you know that at any point during the session you can let him know if there are additional shots/poses that you would like. He is very accomodating & flexible throughout the session. He is truly an elite level photographer with in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the art of photography. We had the honor of having Paul Harrison as our for photographer for our April 2016 wedding. From the beginning, the communication we had with Paul was outstanding. We spent lots of time talking on the phone and he listened to our every need, want and desire and made them happen. I do not know of any other photographer that would go to the depths he did to make our day go as smooth as possible. He created a timeline (in 15 minute increments) to stick to for the entire day. As a bride with OCD, this was amazing! We met several times prior to the wedding and continued to go over every detail. Paul made us feel so comfortable as he had so much knowledge in his field. The day of the wedding, he kept everything on the timeline and pulled everything off FLAWLESSLY! The turnaround time on getting the edited pictures back was outstanding. I cannot say enough about his work. You will not be disappointed!! He was able to capture every detail of our special day and create them into memories we will have forever. Paul Harrison is truly an artist of creating and capturing memories. His photographic style and sense of adventure were the perfect match for our 'traditional wedding with a colorful twist' and his photos are true works of art that we will cherish forever.
He went above and beyond every step of the way, beginning with our first meeting where he shared invaluable knowledge of wedding day logistics, followed by an engagement shoot with lots of helpful posing tips and a little adventure on Jamestown Island, then finally, my bridal session that combined the excitement of my first 'trial run' in the dress and an amazing sunset over the river. All of our planning (and posing!) culminated with our wedding at the Virginia Aquarium, where Paul captured everything beautiful and magical about being surrounded by loved ones AND sea turtles.
We have so many positive things to say about working with Paul, but one of the things that left a lasting impression on us was the number of compliments we received from our guests on his ability to blend into the background and capture the moment in an effective yet completely unobtrusive manner. My husband and I had a long engagement, and booked Paul Harrison Photography about a year and a half before our wedding. From start to finish, Paul has been a dream photographer to work with! Apart from being an excellent photographer- we are amazed by the beautiful moments he was able to capture- he is also organized, motivated, and thoughtful. After we did our engagement photo shoot, he kept in touch, checking in periodically to make sure my dress would be ready on time for bridal portraits, seeing if I had any additional ideas, etc.
Looking at the albums on his website, he is obviously very busy, but I always felt like his only client. He was so eager to set up engagement and bridal photo appointments, and send us the sneak peeks and finished proofs. He developed a relationship with my family and made us feel comfortable. We can see that in the gorgeous photos he took of us, our family, and our guests!

Paul is a gem. He can be more relaxed or directive, depending on your preferences. I would 100% recommend getting an engagement session. My fiance and I had lots of ideas and notions about outfits, location, etc. Paul kindly accommodated our requests. When we got the proofs back, we realized that Paul had a better eye than we did. I was also able to offer feedback on my insecurities about my figure, and Paul took those into account on the actual wedding day. Paul has amazing ability to suss out which people are couples and include them in shots together. He manages toddlers, overbearing relatives, and last-minute changes with ease. The best shots ever taken of me came out of our engagement and wedding sessions. Give him general advice (e.g. I'm uncomfortable with my waistline) rather than specifics (We MUST have a photo on this bench at this time) and let him work his magic.

Paul Harrison is a brilliant artist. He has a unique eye for creating beautiful photographs. I couldn't imagine having anyone better to capture any important event. Paul is an artist. His eye for composition, lighting and detail are evident in his work and his ability to capture landscape, portraiture and emotion of the moment is phenomenal.
My husband and I got married in January 2014 and had the good fortune to find and work with Paul at Paul Harrison Photography. Paul worked very closely with us through the entire planning and execution process. He visited the site prior to our wedding day on multiple occasions to get a feel for the landscape and ideas for composition. He was very open and receptive to our ideas, while guiding us with his expertise. Our individual groom and bridal portraits are exquisite. The photographs from our first look, portraits together, ceremony and first dance as husband and wife capture the joy and happiness that we feel for one another.
Overall working with Paul was an absolute pleasure and we are so thankful to have found him!

Since I was being married in a city I don't live in, I asked the wedding coordinator for recommendations on which photographer to hire. I did some research online and found a few that I emailed. Paul was by far the most flexible with his pricing package and incredibly familiar with my venue. He responded to all my emails and calls within hours. We met before the wedding to go over the timeline, which he emailed me a final table of (including all the family shots we wanted to take). He also came to the wedding rehearsal and thank God he did because he was the only one there familiar with the venue!!
The day of the wedding there was a huge wardrobe malfunction and I missed most of my bridal and bride/groom shots. Paul offered to set up another shoot for us whenever we wanted.
The final result was fantastic. Tons of pictures, posed and candid.
I recommend Paul based on his professionalism, experience, and absolutely amazing pictures.

We are very happy to have chosen Paul as our wedding photographer. He was excellent in so many ways.
He was very thorough and organized throughout the whole process, including preparing the timeline and list of important shots for the day, photographing the day of the wedding, and finishing and sending the pictures after the wedding. He was always super quick in replying to any question I had via email or phone, and he set up in-person and phone meetings to make sure we were very prepared for the day of the wedding. This made the whole process smooth and stress-free for me.
Paul went above and beyond to make sure to get the types of photographs we wanted as well as offered ideas for fun, creative, and artistic photographs. We had recently moved to the area and did not know different locations too well, but Paul had scoped out the surrounding area and hotel where we were staying and had great suggestions for locations. He also drove all the way to VA Beach for our rehearsal to figure out the best places to get pictures for our ceremony. This helped immensely in not losing any time during the day as well as in getting a wide range of fantastic shots.
We received our final pictures ready to go in a very timely manner (less than two weeks) and were very happy with the quality and type of pictures. He did a great job at capturing important moments and relationships in the crowd.
Overall, Paul takes great care and pride in his work which is evident through all steps of the process. We strongly recommend Paul to everyone in the area for a great experience.

Paul was great from the start! From our first meeting to the final meeting a few nights before the wedding! He is so friendly and has a laid back personality that it kept me on ease days before my wedding and on wedding day! On my wedding day Paul came in early (which I loved) and was ready to work. My wedding party did have some issues but Paul was amazing at handling all the different obstacles we put him through (heat especially). I have seen some pictures and they are amazing! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PAUL! He is an amazing photographer and can't wait to see more photos! Looking at his portfolio says it ALL!

Paul was everything we could have asked for in a wedding photographer. As a couple planning a wedding from 9 hours away, Paul was easy to work with, was flexible with our limited time in town, and always responded to emails within hours. He clearly has plenty of wedding experience and seemed to know more than any of our other vendors about intricacies of weddings and how to work with it all.
He was great at directing us in poses and giving us an idea what he was going for which was nice for two people who had never had pictures taken of us as a couple. But that's not to say he did not take into account what we envisioned. Paul made sure every step of the way that we were in sync with each other with our ideas and what we wanted or liked in pictures. He even set up a half hour call with us a few days before the wedding and went over our schedule in detail to make sure we were all on the same page. This was helpful and comforting the day of the wedding as things got quite hectic.
He went above and beyond and not only drove out to our rehearsal without us asking, but took pictures and gave them to us. Logistically, Paul gave us the rights to print our own photos and mailed us a DVD with hundreds of them. It was especially important to us to have the ability to use our photos as we wished. With all of that, his prices are still extremely reasonable.
And of course, his photographs are amazing!! They are all incredibly vibrant (like we wanted since we had quite the colorful wedding), the lighting made us look like celebrities, and we've been getting compliments on him and the pictures ever since the engagement photos.
We would not hesitate to recommend Paul to anyone from Richmond to Williamsburg. He does other types of photos too, but he is an expert at weddings. You will not be disappointed!

Paul was amazing! He was very flexible and adapted to our needs and desires, both before our wedding and as they changed on the day. Our guests even commented on how hard he worked and how well he coaxed a smile during his painless group portraits. He made everyone feel like a perfect model on the day. The final photos, which we got less than a week after the event, were gorgeous, both in the original and enhanced forms. He was always available to answer any questions or concerns and was quick with his reply. . I definitely feel I got value for my money and plan to recommend him to my friends.

We met in advance of my wedding to discuss the timeline down to the minute and talked about what photos were most important to me and my husband. On the day of our wedding Paul was phenomenal. He went completely above and beyond what we expected. He kept us on our timeline all day, we did not feel pressured at all to get through shots or locations, and we got through all of our shots quickly and easily. We received the link to all of our photos before we got back from our honeymoon. Once we returned and were able to look at the photos we were very impressed by their quality. Paul captured so many amazing shots and we loved the artistic quality. I really cannot say enough about what a fantastic photographer Paul is!

Paul Harrison is a wonderful photographer with creativity, energy and professionalism. He took the time to get to know my now husband and I in order to fully understand what type of pictures we were interested in and to really capture our unique relationship through photographs. He allowed us to try out poses we were interested in but also is very experienced in posing us in ways that look phenomenal and natural. His photographs (engagements, pre-wedding, ceremony, reception) are absolutely breathtaking.
Prior to the wedding, we worked together to develop a very detailed timeline of the day of photographs. He is organized, focused, and knows how to manage time wisely in order to give the bride and groom the types of pictures they want in the time frame they are working with. During the ceremony and reception, we didn't even notice he was taking photographs but they turned out really great.
We received our pictures about 16 days after the wedding- all edited and ready to order! We loved this quick turn around as we were so excited to re-experience our wedding and see all the pictures.
Pictures were a very important aspect to my husband and I. We are more than thrilled about the quality of services that Paul gave us on both the engagement shoot and entire day of the wedding. The quality of his pictures are also amazing. We highly recommend his services as he is phenomenal in character and as a photographer. Paul did an amazing job with my engagement, bridal, and wedding photos. Honestly, everything turned out way better then I could have ever imagined. I was nervous for the bridal pictures because I had never taken pictures like that before but he made me feel completely comfortable and by the end I was enjoying modeling ☺ He was completely organized and asked my husband and our families to send him a list of all the pictures we wanted on our wedding day beforehand. Because he was so organized Paul got everything we wanted and had time for more! Best of all, the finished products are awesome! I still can’t stop looking at them. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Paul and the quality of his photos. He is extremely talented, easy to work with and made us all look awesome. Paul Harrison was a spectacular photographer! He worked with us before the wedding to make sure that he would capture all shots that were important to us. He attended the rehearsal (for no additional charge) and played a huge role in organizing the ceremony, including where the bridal party should stand, etc. We greatly appreciated this. If you're looking for someone is completely responsive and 100% into the photography the whole time, you found the right guy. I wouldn't recommend anyone else for photography. After seeing the vibrancy and beauty of Paul's stunning photos, I contacted him, and received a prompt and personable response. Planning my wedding from afar was no consequence, with Paul being accessible via email or phone, easy to communicate with, and giving me free reign in whatever I had in mind for the day. Paul has great energy. Calm, personable, and professional – never pushy or bossy with the shots – making the whole experience a breeze, from: wedding rehearsal, pre-wedding photos, ceremony, reception, and portraits – he even put my usually non-photogenic husband at ease! Not only was Paul a joy to work with as a Bride – he carried that same energy in his interactions with the parents of the Bride and Groom, all the guests, and wedding party. Paul was great in providing gentle direction when I had no idea what I was going for (really unique and stunning vogue-type shots in a lobby – that I never thought would turn out as fantastic and beautiful as they did!!), yet managed to always let me guide the experience and way the photos were taken (in locations, areas, and places I wanted to shoot in or near). Hiring Paul was hands-down one of the best choices we made when preparing for our wedding. He meets with you beforehand, to talk about what you like and what you're looking for (in regards to photos). He's professional, but super fun to work with. He was there at the rehearsal and ALL day on the wedding day. He's an EXPERT at what he does; our wedding pictures are absolutely fantastic. And his prices are ridiculously reasonable. His quality of work equals, if not surpasses, the work of much-more expensive wedding photographers.
