  The Owensboro Convention Center is absolutely beautiful, but unfortunately the management leaves an awful, repugnant taste in your mouth. Dealing with them is an ordeal (the general manager even called me a liar). The food was fantastic so props to the chef, but if you want a riverfront wedding in Owensboro, KY, I would choose the River Park Center instead. It's a little outdated with all that green (just pay to wrap those columns with fabric), but I wished a hundred times that I would have chosen them. You can still get all the beautiful park pictures and the fountain is actually a little closer.
  
  Anyone who leaves a positive review probably dealt with Jamie Johnson, but she left November 2014. Now Kate Douglas is the contact (she's who I dealt with). If she still works there when you are considering this venue, RUN! It will be just one big hassle (she's very inexperienced and extremely UNRESPONSIVE).

  Dear Mrs. Bourque, obviously there is always two sides to every story and this one is no different. We always try to work with clients on making their wedding day very special and Kate has received nothing but excellent remarks about her service from other wedding parties. I can send those to you if you like. She always goes above and beyond her normal job duties to make the day special (such as trying to arrange the top of the cake to give to your mother and telling your guests where to sit) that an outside wedding planner should normally do. I am not going to respond to every inaccurate discrepancy that was mentioned because it would take too long, but just that our staff is experienced in planning weddings and we know what has and has not worked in the past. We tried to pass our expert advice on to you and your wedding planner, but you decided not to take it and ended up having a bad experience. I apologize for that. We should have tried to persuade you more into sticking with your original plan. Thank you for the nice comment on the food and I will make sure to pass this along to our chef and culinary team. We wish nothing but the best for you and your new husband.
