ONDAGO rolled with the chaos like a true professional
After my first conversation with ONDAGO about our wedding I "knew" he was a good fit. I just didn't realize how good he was.
I had no idea how to plan a wedding, but he sent us a questionnaire that I thought was a bit excessive. However, it ended up being one the best things to organize the entire event. Even though our wedding did not go as planned... he saw what needed to change before anyone else and flawlessly adjusted for it (It was a windy outdoor wedding). He read the crowd, played an incredible mix of country, pop, hip-hop etc. There was music that catered to both crowds and everyone loved it. He was easily the best vendor we hired for our event. People kept telling us during and after the wedding how great of a job the DJ did. So if you're looking for someone to make your special day easier and does a phenomenal job. I can't recommend ONDAGO enough. 100/10 -

ONDAGO DJ is a wedding nonnegotiable!
John with OnDaGo DJ was awesome to work with! We did not realize how involved a DJ would be with a wedding. Not only did he help with the music and sound, he provided a lot of insight on how our wedding could flow smoothly. He took the time to meet with us before the wedding date and go over details by the minute. That alone put my mind at ease. He also came to our rehearsal and helped walk us through the ceremony and reception.
His photobooth was also a big hit. We are glad we got the Gold package. The photobooth kept guests entertained throughout the night. People left with their own photos and also pasted copies into our guest book. These memories will stay with us forever thanks to ONDAGO. -

We could not have asked for a better DJ experience for our wedding! From start to finish, everything was handled with professionalism, organization, and so much care. He helped us build the entire structure and flow of the wedding, kept everything running smoothly and on time, and made the whole process feel stress-free.
The energy throughout the night was amazing — the guests were engaged, having fun, and the dance floor stayed full! You can truly tell they know how to read a crowd and create an unforgettable atmosphere. This was absolutely outstanding and played such a huge role in making the night feel special and memorable. His attention to detail, positive energy, and dedication did not go unnoticed. We are so grateful for everything they did to make the wedding such an incredible experience. Highly recommend! -

Absolutely the best experience. Top-tier professional, made our wedding experience the best part of the wedding. Wouldn’t use anyone else.
A must have service. Organized the wedding party, provided photographers, dance sequences, fun activities and really enhanced the party. Kept the wedding on track to the end. Best overall value hands down. Wouldn’t recommend anyone else because it was absolutely the best. -

Awesome DJ/Emcee
I would totally recommend ONDAGO DJ for your wedding or event. John was excellent for my daughter’s wedding reception. He played awesome music and kept the night moving along without being intrusive. I will definitely hire him when my other daughter gets married. -

Best DJ in Alaska!
John with ONDAGO entertainment I’d seriously the best DJ in Alaska. He played the songs at the perfect moments, helped with rehearsal the evening before the ceremony, kept us on track the day of and provided amazing photo booth fun. All of our guests got a kick out of the photo booth and variety of fun props.
Also provides amazing pre wedding help with answering questions and recommendations for other wedding related vendors. He offers a range of packages to fit your budget too! -

John was so amazing! We booked him with very short notice, but he made the whole process incredibly easy and was so patient with all our last-minute changes. He kept the flow smooth during both the ceremony and reception, and there was never a moment of awkwardness. The Photo Booth was also such a hit! He really went above and beyond to make our day perfect! -

John is great!
I highly recommend ONDAGO DJ aka John. He cares about the details and your vision of the wedding/event. He discussed what I should keep in mind for our special event. He even added extras such as lights and a name plate as a keepsake. Heis very professional. I also appreciated his Emcee skills and ability to keep the party going with his DJ skills. John is the best! -

Our Reception Experience
I found working with John to be a fantastic experience ! He was easy to communicate with (mostly via email ) and was very reasonably priced ! Him and his crew showed up on time, and had everything ready to go before even the first guest showed up. The sound and the lighting were perfect. I actually had several of our guests ask me who he was and the name of his company. I give him and his crew a 10/10 for sure ! Definitely recommend !! -

John is an awesome DJ!
He’s got all the equipment and he’s very organized. He provided a Photo Booth and it was such a hit. He’s got a great ability to read the audience and play music that people enjoy. DJ Ondago was great. We received a lot of compliments from our guests that the music selection was fantastic with minimal input from us. He did a terrific job and music/microphones were definitely one thing we did not have to stress over on our big day. -

Great wedding DJ!
John was the DJ for our wedding last weekend. He kept everyone on the dance floor from the moment the open dance started, to the moment the the reception was over. He took requests from our guests and did a great job at reading the crowd to play music everyone loved. He also mixed a song for the father-daughter dance at our request and it turned out exactly how we wanted! Finally, 100% recommend the Photo Booth included! It was a hit and made for some amazing photo memories! -

We had John for our ceremony and reception. John is very easy to work with and had prior experience with our venue, so everything went smooth. He did sound/music during the ceremony, and during the reception he did lighting and DJed. It was perfect. He picked out good music, made good transitions, and kept people engaged. I highly recommend ONDAGO DJ Entertainment (John) to DJ any event. John was recommended to us from a friend and we're so glad we were able to book him for our wedding. We live in San Diego and John was absolutely great about letting us send over song recommendations way in advance. We even met for coffee to bounce some ideas off of one another and ensure we were dialed in for the big day. John is extremely professional and courteous. He even goes the extra mile helping make announcements throughout the night and getting the guests hyped up! The dance floor was full the entire evening. Couldn't be happier with ONDAGO DJ Entertainment. -

John was absolutely fantastic. I could not be more appreciative of how helpful he was prior to the wedding, in terms of us getting organized. He was also simply FANTASTIC during the wedding-- catering to every guest at the wedding where there was incredibly diversity of age. We had a wonderful time. I think the John was absolutely wonderful and feel so lucky that he was present for the wedding. He really went above and beyond, quite literally showing up hours early and simply helping the whole event run smoothly. Could not be more appreciative. -

Not a wedding, but GREAT!
I hired Ondago DJ/John Fernandez for my birthday party in March of 2020 at the Quarter Deck in the Hotel Captain Cook. I had a terrific experience with him! He was timely, professional, personable and humorous. He also provided a wonderful photo booth, complete with custom template. His equipment is stellar; his selection of music is incredible; and his responsiveness to his audience is unmatched. I highly recommend Ondago DJ!! -

Perfect dance party
John is great! When we were looking for a reception DJ, he was the only one to ask what kind of music we like and talk through the vibe we wanted. He was really easy to work with and communicated well about what he needed from us (like 5-10 songs for the cocktail hour). Our reception was such a fun dance party. Would definitely hire him again if we ever need a DJ! You can’t go wrong hiding him! -

Hiring OnDaGoDJ was one of our best investments for our wedding day! John is incredibly knowledgeable about the entire wedding process and reminds you of every detail. John managed all the other aspects of the reception that were going on behind the scenes, and basically made it so we didn't need a day-of coordinator. He also came up to Brian and me a couple of times during the reception to give us tips on how to make the most of our time. He was great, and I would absolutely recommend him! -

Where do I start? John was extremely professional and met above all expectations. We hired John to play from 4 pm- 2 am as he accommodated our wedding schedule. He also didn't complain or fuss about playing an additional hour and a half for us, playing until 3:30 am! You don't need to hire a day of coordinator because John puts together an amazing itinerary of your day and meets up with you as much as you like to plan the day.
My husband, family, and friends have all commented on John's chillness and ability to read the crowd. He did such a fantastic job, I would hire him again in a heartbeat! He followed my playlist and took all my requests immediately.
The Photo Booth that came with our package also brought so much fun for our guests and countless memories! -

I reached out John about a year before the wedding via emails and he was always responsive and thorough in all his communication. My husband and I live in California and we met John in person once when we made the trip to Alaska to check out our venue, but other than that the rest of the planning was done online. John has a very detailed online planning tool and questionnaire that made it easier. There were a few changes made closer to the wedding day (and even within an hour before) and John was very understanding and accommodating.
The music selection was as we requested and John, with our day-of planner, made the event flow smooth. Can't recommend ONDAGO enough! -

Highly recommend DJ John. We hired DJ John for our wedding in Cooper Landing and were so happy with our decision. He’s very professional and clearly experienced at both his job as a DJ as well as being an MC. Since the MC basically directs the event, John (with the help of some of his online tools) got us thinking about all the details of ceremony and reception timeline and music flow. He has ideas if you’re looking for guidance, but also provides lots of opportunity for you to tell him how you’d like the night to go and what music you’d like. We booked Ondago for our June 2018 wedding! He was wonderful! We actually booked him by word of mouth recommendation without even meeting him before hand. Upon meeting him we knew we had made a wonderful decision! SUPER thorough, thinks of a lot of small details we hadn't thought of, kind, energetic and has wonderful song and MC advice for weddings and large events. He really helped up think of a lot of fine-tune details with our wedding! We had 215 people plus caterers and bartenders, so it was a big venue (arctic valley lodge) with a lot of people! He make the flow of the night go effortlessly with his series of events worksheet we filled out before hand. And when I last minute wanted to add my grandmother to the toasts, he fit her right in. Also when I last minute wanted my father daughter dance to bust into a silly Billy Idol song he did that as well! Ondago was a wonderful wedding DJ/MC option! He brought lights and lasers and all his own equipment as well! And the photobooth was an absolute blast. We received so many complements on the photobooth, and made for a dun souvenir for guests! -

We had an intense, down to the minute schedule, and John kept everything on track. Absolutely worth every penny!! We got married and John was there on the day to MC and DJ. He got there early with his crew, set up mics for the ceremony, provided our live musician with cords for sound equipment, and coordinated with all the other vendors to make sure the whole ceremony and reception went according to plan! He also kept cool and joked the whole time, and while his voice was out- he brought someone with who was able to MC just great! He read the crowd and while he played requests, he played music that would get everyone dancing. So fun!!
Not only was he a hecking life-saver on the wedding day, we also met and emailed back and forth before the wedding...he has done this a thousand times and his information and pointers were invaluable for us in the decision making for the ceremony/reception. He is super fast in replying and thinks of all the details. Our day was perfect and I absolutely trusted that he would follow through and he totally did. Best decision we made!! -

John was great to work with throughout our entire planning process, and we were very impressed with his services on our wedding day. His attention to detail was great, right down to double checking pronunciation on people's names, and he made me feel confident that everything would go smoothly. We booked John for the second year in a row for our company holiday party. He was extremely easy to work with and very professional. I had a strict schedule to stick to be able to pass out all of our door prizes and he kept me right on track. If I had an idea about how I wanted something done but he knew of a better, more efficient way he communicated that and helped our event flow smoothly. He played a wide variety of music for our diverse crowd and even helped us do the mannequin challenge! I am very happy with his service and fully intend to book him again next holiday season. -

My wife and I have hired John on several occasions. Most recently in June 2016 for our 30th wedding anniversary. John continues to overwhelm us with his talent, professionalism, and flexibility. Communication was always easy and convenient, phone, text, email or off his web site. We even met on occasion in person to discuss the planning of the event. He listens intently as to what we want and then offers suggestion that we would not have even had thought of. His planning is detailed and clear. His prices have always been reasonable for what he delivers. And he delivers. He has always arrived before the scheduled time and always prepared. He is flexible and handles changes with the grace of the professional he is. His choices of music has always fit the event. The games he has offered have been fun for all ages. I have had the pleasure of working with John on several occasions, and he is the absolute best DJ I have ever met. He goes above and beyond the duties of a DJ, and I can honestly say our wedding would not have been as successful, fun, or well planned without his help. He worked with us to pick out the perfect music, he knew how to make the day run without a hitch, and his suggestions made our day better than we could have imagined. The photo booth he provided was a huge hit, and the game he suggested made our event even more memorable. John is very fun to work with, he is a pro at what he does, and I don't think you could find someone more dedicated to the success of your event. John did a great job at our wedding! He made sure everyone was out dancing and having a good time. He played all the songs that were on our play list and pretty much all the songs that were requested. You won't be disappointed having John being the DJ at your event! -

John with Ondago is a top notch DJ and is very professional and organized. I hired him for a very special birthday party and he was personable and delightful to work with. The sound quality from his DJ equipment was fantastic! He also brought lighting equipment that created great ambiance at my party. I provided him with a program to follow and my presentation went off without a hitch. I requested specific songs on the spot and he had them readily available (both regular songs and karaoke). After my program, he played dance music for the rest of the evening and it kept us on the dance floor, having fun. I would definitely recommend him to my friends and I look forward to working with him again on future events.. -

The Anchorage Senior Activity Center have recently re-started our monthly Friday Night Dances. We were please to have John provide the music for our second dance. John Fernandez did an absolutely fantastic job at our wedding! Planning a destination wedding is never an easy task, but John worked with us for weeks before and made us feel comfortable and that everything would be taken care of! He was a wonderful communicator, and put us at ease by helping us create a thorough day of the wedding agenda, with every detail covered to the max! As far as music?? John knows how to read his crowd! He had everyone on the dance floor throughout our entire evening, old(er) and young, and played music to everyone's taste! John was absolutely terrific. He was very responsive by email and was able to meet with us twice before the wedding because he called ahead when he knew he'd be in our town (down on the Kenai Peninsula). The second meeting was over an hour, talking through the entire event in detail. He asked excellent questions, and because he's worked at a lot of weddings, he was able to recognize potential pitfalls and had very good advice all around.
At the wedding, John was set up on time and followed the script we'd worked out ahead of time. He was completely professional, and even spent a few minutes showing one of our younger guests how his equipment worked without getting distracted from the party. He'd added several songs to his library at our request and read the crowd incredibly well. We were concerned that people wouldn't dance very much given that it was broad daylight at our outdoor wedding a few days from the solstice, but he kept people on the floor all night long. My new mother-in-law, who is not usually a dancer, said she wished the whole thing had kept going until morning. -

John outdid any and all hopes I had for my wedding. He was easy to get ahold of when I had questions and helpful with the different challenges we came across. On the day of the wedding everything from our live musicians, speeches, announcements, and music went flawlessly. John was excellent at keeping our guests engaged and entertained. Our dance floor was FULL until the very last minute, and our guests were asking for more! John's professionalism, passion, and attention to detail will make him my number ONE referral for ALL future weddings.

John is an amazing DJ. We didn't hire a day of planner, and John helped us coordinate the timing for everything. Without him our wedding would not have been such a success. He was an awesome MC, and he perfectly segued from the different events through the night, from announcing the cake cutting, to games we had planned. He's very easy to coordinate with, and my MOH and I knew he was going to be THE DJ right from the first meeting. If you're in need of a DJ, give him a call. You won't regret it, 100% guaranteed :)
