    The Myth, for me, was perfection. Laura was incredibly helpful and during my rehearsal, really set the pace for what I was to expect on my big day. And leading up to that day, she was willing to answer any question I had (no matter how ridiculous). The cost was more than fair, and we had a lot of "included" amenities (including things I wouldn't have thought of) that just made the day that much better.

    And seeing it all come together? Beautiful. It was absolutely perfect in that room. All of my hard work with the planning was executed to a T. I couldn't have asked for more.

    All I can say is that they were AWESOME! Laura was absolutely amazing, she made sure that everything was organized and went smoothly and she will do anything to make sure that your day goes off without a hitch, she's a super sweet lady! My reception I have to say was the bomb! the food was great the venue is absolutely stunning, it doesn't get much better, I highly recommend it!

    We loved everything about the Myth! We had an Outdoor Ceremony, The hall was absolutely beautiful, Great Photos, Excellent Food, and Laura was amazing! The coordinator Laura was so easy to work with, and she bent over backwards to make everything just how we wanted multiple times, also as hectic as everything was she kept everything together and running smoothly on the day of.

    The room is beautiful. Much different than typical banquet halls. The enormous windows allow beautiful views of the golf course. The large deck was very popular with our guests. The food was above average for wedding food, about what you'd expect but tasty. Laura was easy to work with and guided us through the process easily. Plenty of beautiful locations for photos. The outdoor ceremony was lovely. I was nervous about walking down the aisle, but it was so short it was a breeze. Great venue if you know your guests are going to party!

    The venue was great. It was the perfect place for my wedding reception. The only thing I found off putting was the coordinator that is charge of the venue was very pushy. Making us rush to do things. I didnt like that at all.. it was my day, let me do things at my own pace. Other than that it was a wonderful venue.

    We found this place and loved the look of the place, exactly what I was going for !! Unfortunately though I want thrilled with everything. The main things such as food, bar, atmosphere were great but the lady in charge was all over the place every time we met didn't know what wedding date or who we were. We never got our cake topper or our top layer of cake. She said she had to cut it up, but there was plenty left at the end of the night. You have to order your own chairs which cost a lot of money to rent chairs.and as soon as it hit midnight they started flipping the room and flipped all the lights on but most of my guest were still just getting off the dance floor. She also rushed the pictures outside, when we were running ahead of schedule. I felt bad for our photographer. I think it can be a great location to have a wedding but def need to get more volume and more weddings under there belt.

    The food was wonderful and the space is beautiful. Laura was helpful at times but day of found she was kind of pushy and rude to vendors. She might not have meant to be but she was very rude and condescending in the way she talked to people. Had some issues day of with mixed up tables and they cut and served my small cake that wasn't meant for guests and did not ask them to do so. Bartenders and food were awesome though.

    No issues at all leading up to the wedding. Laura was very responsive and straight to the point with everything. Venue was beautiful, and everything was set up as promised. Food was great and the bartenders and servers were all very nice. My wedding planner had checked the schedule with Laura and she and I thought everything had been approved and okayed with her (we had everything planned down to the minute) well in the middle of dinner Laura came up to me and told me that the first shuttle bus needed to arrive sooner because she had a wedding to prepare for the following day. Just what a bride wants to hear in the middle of eating her dinner. Luckily my wedding planner came right up and was able to handle everything and get ahold of the shuttle company. We had the room until 12am and had cleanup until 12:30. My wedding planner had just about everything cleaned up by 11:25 and put into the bridal suite where Matt told us we could store things until 9am the following morning. I thought great, now we can just relax and have a good time with our remaining guests. Not the case, Laura had turned the lights on at 11:30 (last call) and pretty much ended things..?! At this point everyone headed to get there things, I was irritated but let it go as I didn't want to let it ruin the rest of the evening. I went over and thanked Laura for everything and headed to the bridal suite to gather my things... here my poor wedding planner had to let me know that we were NOT allowed to store things in the bridal suite. Mind you we are all heading onto a shuttle bus! Luckily we had a few friends who hadn't been drinking and drove and were able to take everything with them. At this point I am outside waiting on the shuttle to arrive (mind you we should still be inside dancing and enjoying ourselves until 12am which is what we paid for!!!). My husbands cousin headed back inside to use the bathroom and heard Laura shouting about how our wedding was a f****ing wreck and we were a s*** show!

We're happy to hear that you and your guests enjoyed the food as well as our banquet staff! Our Chef and Banquet Manager have been here at The Myth for over 20 years and do an incredible job! Our servers work near 100 special events each year including weddings, showers, holiday parties, Easter & Mother's Day brunch, memorial services, and golf outings, so they are highly experienced as well.
    From our investigation there was a breakdown of communication between the wedding planner and the hotel regarding the shuttle and room rental times. It was a decision made by the wedding planner to bring this issue to your attention during dinner. For that, we apologize. We do have certain policies in place to ensure the safety of not only our guests, but our staff members as well. We do our best to ensure that all of our guests have a tremendous experience that creates life long memories. We constantly strive to be better, and we will continue to do that in the future.

    Unfortunate Venue Choice

    I recently had my youngest daughter’s Bridal Shower and Wedding at the Myth Golf & Banquet
    facility in Oakland Twp. We paid for, and attended, a food tasting (food tasting is offered after
    placing your deposit, not before) so we would know what to expect and choose the menu
    accordingly. After the tasting I did sit down with the manager and discussed my hesitation and
    concern with some of the food options. She assured me they had a new Chef and I would be
    extremely happy with the final menu. We had approximately 50 people for the bridal shower
    and it went well. However, when it came to the wedding it was totally a different outcome.
    We met with the Manager and the new chef prior to our final selections and both assured me, I
    would be very happy with the menu we picked. The bride was very clear she didn’t care
    whether we had a red sauce or a white sauce for the pasta, she just wanted to make sure she
    had her parmesan redskin potatoes. We all smiled and the manager said “you’ll have your
    parmesan red skin potatoes”. As I arrived for the wedding I asked if everything was good and
    according to plan. The manager said “no issues, good to go.” However, things were not as we
    ordered right off the bat. We ordered the fruit tower/display (with strawberries) and when it
    was brought out it was missing the strawberries. So, I asked one of the staff members to find
    out why they weren’t on the display. She never came back. My daughter was very specific and
    one of the big reasons she picked this venue was that she wanted their parmesan red skin
    potatoes. Upon getting my dinner I was shocked and mortified when the parmesan red skin
    potatoes were replaced, without our consent, with what looked to be small, square,
    undercooked (hard) breakfast potatoes (they were horrible-no better way to describe them). I
    immediately found the manager and asked where the potatoes were that we ordered and her
    response was “we cut them up”. Just after sitting down, my daughter (Bride), asked why
    people who required dietary restriction plates i.e., dairy free, gluten free, nut free, vegetarian
    etc. were in line to get their food, which was supposed to be plated and brought out directly to
    them. Unfortunately, this is what the bride is worrying herself with instead of eating her dinner
    and enjoying her event. I left my dinner to find the manager and questioned why the plates for
    the special dietary needs of the guests were not brought out. They hesitated and then said they would get them all out. A few never received their plates, while a few others received plates that did not adhere to their dietary restrictions.

    Our wedding was under contract from 5:30 pm to 11:00 pm. Cleanup was from 11pm until midnight. The staff started removing our decorations, centerpieces, gifts, and personalized items early and had it condensed to one area by 10:40 pm. Guests were still on the dance floor and when they came back to the tables, their gifts were picked up and moved. This was totally unprofessional and not per our agreement. The last shuttle of the evening was booked for midnight, so the bridal party and a few guests could help us break down and load our items. Because the staff broke down our wedding way early, these guests had to sit around for about 45 minutes waiting for the shuttle to pick them up to go back to the hotel. In my opinion, the venue is pretty and the staff was pleasant. However, the food was mediocre at best and I would not recommend this place. This is a once in a lifetime event, and for me, the stress and embarrassment was certainly not worth it.

    They make their own rules!

    Rented this venue for a wedding that is 6 hours but the lights go on and the music must stop at 11:30 pm so they can clean up. Vargo's other banquet facility, Golden Hawk, gives you the venue for the entire 6 hours and lights go on at 12. Laura neglects to tell you everything like the cake is served on plastic plates with plastic forks and only for an additional $5 per person will she bring it to the tables. They brought the cut cake out before the bride and groom had even cut the cake. The bride asked her the night of the wedding if someone will carry the plates for herself and the groom and she responded that she wasn't going to do it, which is quite rude. She continually states that she has done a lot of weddings and no one has complained. I believe that is a lie! Her attitude is less than anyone would expect when paying for a service. Her staff is very young and at any given time there was only one person tending bar for 150 guests. Beware that she has exclusive vendors you must use.

    No Refund due to Covid-19

    I got let go from my job due to Covid-19 and Myth refused to refund our deposit because their contract forbid it. I would not recommend getting married here. There are a lot other better venues and service.
