Gorgeous & guest-friendly space!
We are so happy we had our ceremony at the Museum of Fine Arts! It is an absolutely gorgeous space with endless options for stunning photos. The staff were so kind and easy to work with and everything went off without a hitch. Our guests commented on how beautiful it was and many of them enjoyed exploring the galleries and eating at the cafe before the ceremony began. The space is also accessible, well air conditioned and allows you to get great natural light while staying out of the hot Florida sun. This helped us maintain a good guest experience, which was important to us. Thank you for helping our day feel so special, moving and fun!-

Most Beautiful Wedding Venue
The most beautiful venue in downtown St Pete, I am so thrilled with our wedding there! It was in a perfect location for easy accessible from the hotels and beautiful backdrop. We did our ceremony in the membership garden, cocktail hour on the terrace & then the reception in the large main room. The different areas each provided an incredible space and our guests loved it! The museum was really easy to work with and SO many of the vendors know what looks great and all of the rules. There are a few things to consider like you must use their caterer and there is limited parking and some restrictions of what you can have, but none of that really impacts the vision of the day but good to be aware of if there is something really important to you. I would also factor the catering requirement into your budget so that you know before you sign with the museum. Also make sure you pay attention to the chairs in the contract, because you will need to add them into your catering contract depending on the room you pick! Would 100% recommend, it was such a beautiful and special venue!! -

A dream venue!
We could not have chosen a more perfect venue for our wedding!!! At the beginning, I spoke with Sooky to secure our date. She was responsive and helpful throughout the whole process. And the required catering vendor, Olympia, is top notch!! We had several guests say it was the best wedding food they had ever had!
We had our ceremony in the Membership Garden, cocktail hour in the Sculpture Garden, and reception in the Marly Room . . . and it was truly a dream. With an initial guest count of 125, I was worried that the space would be a little tight - we ended up with 110 but there would have been plenty of room even if all 125 had attended! I am also so glad we chose the Marly Room for the reception over the Conservatory. With the chandeliers and the gold mirrors, the room gave the event a whimsical and romantic feel. The venue has so many interesting spots for photos, and we loved having everything at the same location so guests did not have to travel to the reception. I cannot recommend this venue enough!-

11-12-22 wedding: From the perspective of the Mother of the Bride
The building and courtyards and art exhibits are impressive all on their own, but the STAFF (Brittany, Jeremy, everyone) made this venue a true “fairytale” for my daughter’s wedding this past weekend!!! It’s a magical place!!!💕-

The perfect venue for what we were looking for. We were married under the banyan trees, had cocktail hour on the terrace and our reception in the conservatory. It was the perfect day. -

My guests raved about the venue - I wanted an outdoor wedding & picked this spot because their indoor space was also gorgeous. It rained on my wedding day so I was soooo happy with my decision because i had to move indoors & everything was still absolutely beautiful! -

We LOVED everything for our wedding, especially under the circumstances; a rainy day forced relocation indoors following an inclement weather contingency plan. Everything was just perfect - unquestionably the finest venue and services in Saint Petersburg!!! Nancy is the best! -

Perfect venue
I found this place after months of searching, countless appointments and a different venue contract that didn’t work out. The MFA was my lifesaver. It had everything I wanted, a garden to get married in and a large room for dancing with floor to ceiling windows looking over the water. We couldn’t get the date I wanted but had to push it back by 2 weeks which actually worked out even better since they decorated for Christmas and it just made everything more magical. I’ve gotten so many compliments for choosing the MFA it was a perfect choice.-

Amazing Venue & Amazing Team!
I got married here on 12/7/19 and everything was flawless. My guests were so impressed with the venue and my day-of-coordinator Nancy Cotto, the Museum's Catering Sales Manager, made my day perfect and stress-free. Even though she technically only had charge over thee "day of" details, she was there with me every step of the way. She promptly answered all of my questions and also recommended my photographer, DJ, and florist who were all equally fabulous. All this to say, I highly recommend this venue and the Olympia catering team. -

Absolutely Perfect
Nancy and her team, most notably Staci, were absolutely amazing! To all those reading reviews, they literally made our absolute dream wedding a reality. I was always told how stressful and crazy the day of your wedding would be, but we had a completely different experience. The day ran completely care free and even relaxing. And that was all because of Nancy and her team. I would recommend them over and over again forever! -

Beautiful Venue
Nancy and the staff at MFA we’re amazing! We got married on March 15, 2019 in the Membership Garden as we wanted an “outdoor” wedding, but still wanted our privacy. The garden couldn’t be more perfect! Our cocktail hour was on the Terrace where guest were able to enjoy the beauty of our city. The reception was in the Conservatory which was stunning! The pictures we captured with the high windows and simplicity of the venue was everything. We had our DJ do the uplighting on the walls which made the museum even more elegant and romantic. The location is everything as we were able to capture amazing pictures and continue the party DTSP!-

Our evening at the Museum of Fine Arts was amazing. I couldn't imagine a more perfect venue for our reception. The service was fantastic and the coordinator was always available to answer questions and listened to our ideas and talked them through with us. -

Amazing wedding for my daughter
I take this opportunity to write a review regarding our experience this past weekend, March 23. We had our daughter's wedding at the Museum of Fine Arts. We cannot express in enough words the amazing wedding we had and attribute this to one person - Nancy!
For three days now, we have been receiving calls, texts and emails from all our guests raving about the wedding. It was an outstanding awesome and MAGICAL weekend. The raves all include the venue, food, and music. The overall timeline of the affair was absolutely perfect and everything went as Nancy promised and beyond expectations. The food and service were excellent and it was because of Nancy and Stacy. We thank them for helping to make this a most memorable milestone in our lives and the lives of our children. We get tears of happiness in our eyes as we write this review and as we constantly play back the entire wedding.
Nancy is a very special person. We started working with her about a year ago and from the first time we met her we knew we were in good hands. She has a job to do, like all of us, but she puts her heart into what she does and it really shows. She was always available to us regardless of the day or time. Please know that we had looked at several venues and there were others we liked, but ultimately settled on MFA. However, none of the other places had a catering specialist that matched the professionalism, personality and sense of humor like Nancy.
We will forever have gratitude for the role she played in our daughter's wedding. We commend her and the staff for a job well done.
We highly recommend the Museum of Fine Arts for all brides, grooms and parents of brides and grooms. It is a beautiful venue with excellend food and service by Nancy and Olympia Caterers. -

Beautiful venue
Nancy and Lisa were amazing from the MFA! From our first consultation, Nancy was very responsive and helped make the entire planning process smooth and easy. On the day of, they helped set up all of the tables, which ended up looking beautiful. Then they helped organize the procession line and everything went off without a hitch! I didn't have to worry or stress about anything. Not to mention how beautiful the venue is! We had our ceremony in the garden and our reception in the conservatory. Our family and friends both commented on how beautiful everything was! I highly recommend the MFA. -

Museum of Fine Arts and Olympia Catering St Pete, FL
I want to thank you and your team at Olympia Catering for making my son's wedding on October 27, 2018 special. Everything was exactly how they had planned and they appreciated you tending to their needs during the event, thank you! All of your recommendations for vendors were right on point too! Food was delicious, the bar was flowing and the DJ dropped just the right music. Centerpieces looked fabulous. And the museum, what can I say, it was perfect setting for this beautiful couple. Nancy you and your team took care of everything, right down to breaking down the event and loading everything in our cars allowing us to spend extra special time with our out of town guests! St Pete and the Museum of Fin Arts is the perfect place for a wedding!!!

I don't even know where to begin with our wonderful experience with Nancy, Olympia Catering and the MFA for our Wedding on 1/27/18. We had the most perfect wedding day and we definitely have the above to thank!
From our initial meeting with at the MFA we fell in love with the venue and knew we were in great hands with Nancy. We ended up booking the Membership Garden for our ceremony and the Conservatory for the reception. It was great having both spaces for the evening. As other reviews said you are required to use both Olympia Catering & Lundy's for bar and alcohol service but we were very pleased with both vendors. After looking at venue's outside the MFA with 15+ approved vendors for food, I thought it was very refreshing you used the in house teams. Olympia's food was amazing - people are still talking about how good the food was! We hired Nancy to be our Day of Coordinator - one of the best decisions we made! Nancy went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect and the amount of knowledge she has from the industry is amazing. She recommended several vendors for other things (DJ, photography, florals, etc) and we ended up booking several of her recommendations and they did not disappoint! I would definitely encourage anyone who books the MFA to hire Nancy as your DOC!
We felt everything surpassed our expectations through the wedding planning process and during our wedding day. We are so sad our wedding is over but so grateful for the team who made everything come together and the memories we have! Words can't express how perfect we feel our wedding day was and I am so grateful for the MFA team and Nancy to make our wedding inspiration and dreams a reality!

This place is dream. I remember from the very first time I saw a wedding party outside of the museum taking photos about 4 years ago, I knew I wanted to have my wedding at the Museum of Fine Arts. Flash forward to two weeks ago and here I am, marrying my best friend at the most beautiful venue in town. Such an incredible place, fantastic location, great hotels and restaurants nearby for guests, and the staff was freaking FANTASTIC! Especially Nancy and Tina. Nancy was like a speed bullet when it came to answering my (many, many) emails and questions. Yes, it may lean more on the pricey side, but it is WORTH IT. I wish the event could have lasted forever. Thanks for everything Nancy an everyone at the MFA. -

There not enough words to say THANK YOU to Nancy and her team. Not only did she recommend incredible vendors but she helped me organize the most beautiful wedding! From the moment I sat down with Nancy her mission was to make sure the day was exactly what I wanted it to be. I asked her to be my day of planner and everything went off without any issues. Nancy even agreed to set a table for my mom and aunt at the museum so that they could make sure they liked the linens and silverware(crazy I know). The food was spectacular. I have had so many guests tell me that Olympia served the BEST food they have had at any wedding they attended. The entire day, I did not worry about a thing. If I had to do it again I would choose the museum 10x over. Thank you Nancy for all of your hard work!!-

We were fortunate enough to secure one of the last wedding dates available for Spring 2017 (we did this in January 2016 mind you!) and we 100% see why they are so booked up. We were completely floored and blown away by the museum and I do not even know where to start on NANCY COTTO. <<-She was basically our entire event coordinator, she is the leader of their catering and coordinating services but I hired her as my Day Of Coordinator. She was so sweet and kind from day 1 and gave us 100% realistic answers and expectations. She did everything above and beyond to always answer my millions of questions promptly, sometimes within the hour. I set up all the tables exactly how I wanted and fulfilled every single detail I asked for. One of my favorite things about her, was she was firm with my crowd with keeping them organized and on time, but she was 110% focused on us(the bride and groom). She even came out when she saw that we were still taking some photos and offered to extend cocktail hour so we could finish. She made us feel so special and unique (even though she has surely seen thousands of weddings) and I honestly could not have imagined by night without her. She made the whole process as easy as picking out colors and flavors. The Museum and Olympia Catering - The museum: could not have been more accommodating, they literally do EVERYTHING for you. They even had full security there the night of our event and kicked out some people who were trying to crash! Olympia Catering was fabulous. Debbie who made our cake did exactly what we asked and worked with us on pricing. The food was incredible, all the steaks were cooked perfectly and they even worked with us on a vegan dish. The set up and linen choices were beautiful and so easy to pick out. The bar services were well priced with excellent service from the bartenders. It wont let me write more, but I really could not be happier that we booked here. Worth every $ -

We were looking for a venue in the Tampa/St. Petersburg are to hold a wedding. We were not sure what we were looking for until our appointment at the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg and meeting Nancy Henry the Catering Manager. First we fell in love with the location, how could we not. Set in beautiful downtown St. Pete just a few steps from the water and surrounded by those beautiful and unique banyan trees. Nancy took us on a tour of the museum and filled us in on all of the options that we could have. She took as much time as we needed to have all of our questions answered and when we left all it took was a short discussion to decide that this would be the place. We scheduled the wedding over a year in advance which was necessary because it books up fast. We met with Nancy a few more times to go over the details and she supplied us with a list of vendors to try. We went with her recommendations and we are glad we did: Wonderland Florist, Reverend Rick Lackore Efficient, Grant Hemond & Associates DJ (Eric), Foto Box to name a few. All were beyond wonderful. At the food tasting Nancy let us sample a variety of different hors d'oeuvres and entrees, more than we expected. All of the catering is done in house by Olympia Catering and your guests get to tour the museum during the event.
We hired Nancy as our day of coordinator and are we glad we did. All we did was drop some things off at the museum the night before and worried about nothing else but getting dressed, hair, makeup and everyone getting there on time. If you decide to have your wedding at the MFA my main piece of advice would be to hire Nancy as your day of, she is fabulous and her taking care of everything and directing everyone will take all of the pressure off your shoulders and allow you to enjoy one of the most wonderful days of your life. The wedding went off without a hitch. We continue to get compliments from everyone who attended. -

Hands down THE best value! Amazing venue, stunning and so different from the common scenes you see in Florida. Growing up on the beach, I wanted something a little different, and this fit the bill. We had cocktail hour in the membership garden, and our guests walked through the gallery to get outside. The staff is so attentive, and we got SO many compliments on the food!! I can't say enough good things. I wish I was a guest at my wedding instead of the bride, because I don't think I could appreciate everything, it was so beautiful. Thank you to everyone!!! -

Our wedding at the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg was amazing! I remember, two years earlier, sitting at a cafe across the street watching a bridal party taking photos in front of the MFA, and I thought to myself how wonderful it would be to get married there, and I did! It was the first venue my husband and I toured. I fell in love with the garden area and could just imagine us standing in front of the fountain reciting our vows. My family advised to look into other places and not go with the first place I toured. I visited other venues and searched for countless hours for a venue that had the same Spanish vibe I was looking for. I could not get the MFA out of my head and booked it right away! I booked during the off-peak season, and the discount was so worth it! I had a planner to deal with all the negotiations, but Nancy was very nice and the team at Olympia were helpful. The ceremony was beautiful and picture perfect! The reception area was gorgeous! The giant windows give the perfect water view. My guests could not stop gushing about how beautiful and perfect the venue was. Thank you MFA for letting us have our special day with you! -

My daughter's wedding reception was held at The Museum of Fine Arts last weekend. We choose to have stations rather than a sit down dinner. The food was exceptional! Olympia catering provided dinner for 162 family and friends. Every meal was hot, made to order and delicious! Our guests commented on how this was the best food they have ever had at a wedding! Wedding cake was also provided through Olympia catering, Delicious !!! They were also very organized, friendly and well staffed. Thank you to the Museum and Olympia Catering for helping to make my daughter's wedding dreams come true! Cindy -

Superb Wedding! Every aspect of the wedding was spectacular thanks to Nancy Cotto and the staff at the The Museum of Fine Arts in St Petersburg. Our Sicilian family knows weddings and this venue did not disappoint. From the moment we entered the garden for the ceremony, until the last drink, the evening was magical. Thank you. A parent's greatest wish is to provide the best for her or his child. My husband and I believe our daughter's choice of your venue, allowed us to see to her dream wedding. -

We knew from the beginning that we wanted our wedding venue to be the Museum of Fine Arts in Downtown St. Pete - we expected it to be good but never in a million years expected the insane level of service and love we received from MFA staff, Olympia Catering, Bar by Lundys, Everence Photography, Wonderland Floral Art, Style Hair and Makeup, Courtesy Valet and Graingertainment. We were especially lucky that we made the decision to hire Nancy Cotto, from Olympia Catering working exclusively for the museum, as our day of coordinator. She was absolutely amazing and went completely above and beyond our expectations. Nancy kept a constant open line of communication up until the day of the wedding and totally exceeded our expectations when it came to our wedding day - some items were even a special surprise that she arranged to make our day extra awesome! We couldn't be more blessed to have the most amazing vendors as a part of our day - thank you a million times over for everything!!!!

I can honestly say that the Museum of Fine Arts exceeded all of our expectations for our wedding. From the moment we booked with MFA we were guided every step of the way. We worked directly with Nancy and she was absolutely incredible! She always was quick to respond to every email I sent to her and I can honestly say I sent her a ton of emails up until the day of my wedding. She was very honest and straightforward which I greatly appreciated. She had a lot of great input and I truly trusted her and her opinions and I can't thank her enough for everything she did for us and her help along the way. She always made us feel comfortable throughout the entire planning process and was always available. The team the day of my wedding was amazing! Tina, the banquet captain, and her entire staff made my husband and I feel so special and we felt so comfortable knowing the team working with us were going to take care of us and our guests the day of and they also exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed every moment of our wedding and never had to worry about a thing knowing we had the most amazing staff every step of the way. We had the ceremony in the Marley Room, the cocktail hour in the Membership Garden and the reception in the Main Conservatory and we were blown away with how beautiful and elegant everything was throughout the entire night. I also want to mention that Olympia Catering and Catering by Lundy’s provided excellent food, beverages and customer service as well. I recommend this venue to any one looking to plan an elegant wedding or event.

I worked with Nancy directly and she was absolutely amazing! She was always so prompt to respond to emails and always so honest! They offer a great package deal so you don't have to worry about all the little details, the per person pricing was great, the food was awesome, and the team on the day of the wedding really made sure my husband and I were taken care of the whole night. It really is relief to know you can just have a great time at the wedding without having to worry about a thing.
We had our cocktail hour in the gardens and reception in the marley room which was so elegant and perfect for our 130 guest size wedding!
Thank you Nancy and team for making our dream a reality! -

Hands down the most amazing wedding venue we could have ever dreamt up! From the first time we visited the MFA, we knew it was the right place for us. Booking a wedding at the MFA simplifies the entire planning process because of the restrictions on vendors for food and alcohol. Normally, a restriction could be seen as a negative; however, Olympia catering and Catering by Lundy's provided excellent food, beverage, and customer service throughout. Specifically, Nancy and Tina from Olympia catering provided excellent customer service, responsiveness, and care for us throughout the night and during the planning. Nancy was incredibly responsive, transparent and personable. Tina went above and beyond continuously as our banquet captain. She made sure we were well fed, we hydrated, and comfortable on our night.
We changed our ceremony to the membership garden last minute due to an obstruction by the city in the outdoor space by the Banyan trees. The membership garden provided a beautiful and intimate venue for our ceremony and many of our guests raved about the beauty of that moment. I recommend booking the entire venue to have a weather back up plan and a pivot option available if you are looking to get married in the park next door. Having that as an option was a life saver and well worth the extra cost.
Our cocktail hour took place outside on the terrace where our guests were able to enjoy a lovely evening over the water and the reception was in the main conservatory. For such a grand space our tables, guests, and lighting filled the room with love and celebration. It is a spectacular space and very deserving of any large event. Our total wedding size was 150 and we felt very comfortable in the space throughout the evening.
We also felt completely secure and cared for during the event. Jeremy, who was on lead security for the evening, provided excellent service and made us feel right at home in the venue. He and his team were responsive and very polite. -

The museum was such an incredible venue to have our ceremony and reception. Everything about this venue is romantic and the perfect setting for a wedding. We had our wedding and the cocktail hour in the gardens and the reception in the ballroom and it was great to have an indoor/outdoor option. If you are looking for a great site for your wedding, the Museum of Fine Arts in St Pete is definitely a great choice! -

My husband and I were married at the Museum of Fine Arts in September 2015 and it was absolutely the most stunning, perfect venue for a wedding that we could have ever imagined! There quite simply is not a more unique, elegant, classy, and beautiful venue to have a Ceremony/Reception in the greater Tampa Bay area. We had the Ceremony in the Marley Room and reception in the Conservatory. We got to take pictures in the actual art gallery which is something you can't find anywhere else.
In addition to the venue, we had Nancy Cotto assisting us who was AWESOME. She was so easy to work with, was ultra fast to respond, and we were so happy working with her that we also hired her for Day-Of coordinating services. This turned out to be the best decision as she was outstanding and everyone raved about her!
The food is first class from Olympia, the tables and place settings were perfect, everything was perfectly on time, and every one of our guests left that night totally impressed with the MFA as a venue. Unfortunately we only get married once but if we could do it again, we'd choose the MFA in a heartbeat. It was the best night of our lives! -

It has been a little over a month since we had our wedding at the Museum of Fine Arts. The Museum itself and the grounds surrounding it are absolutely beautiful. Everything felt so elegant and classic. Making the choice to hold all day of events on site worked out wonderfully. We had our ceremony in the Membership Garden, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the Marley room, and moved into the Conservatory for our reception. My main point of contact throughout the whole planning process was Nancy Cotto. I have to say I fell in love with Nancy. She gave wonderful advice and made spot on suggestions throughout the entire process. She answered every phone call and email promptly and made me feel like a girlfriend she had known forever. I was so impressed with Nancy that I decided to hire her as my coordinator. With years of experience in the business (and at the museum) this was a no brainer. The day of the wedding Nancy and our banquet captain were amazing. My husband and I had a server with us all throughout pictures who made sure we didn’t want for anything. We were provided with beverages and snacks the entire time we took pictures. The mini-tacos, jewelry box sushi, and wasabi/cocktail shooters were delicious! Dinner was served on schedule and was just as wonderful. Everyone raved about the filet. The day of the wedding everything ran like clockwork. As a self-proclaimed control freak I can honestly say I was able to relax and leave everything in the hands of museum staff without a worry. They managed the event beautifully. If anything went wrong no one knew about it (including me!) Thanks again Nancy! You are the best! -

Nancy is the main contact for this venue. She is the reasons I decided I NEEDED to have my wedding reception here. She was so responsive (FAST) and so truthful. Nancy wanted to make sure I got everything I wanted and even made sure I had the best vendors I could get. She made sure to give me her personal thoughts and advice, which made it so much easier to make decisions. Nancy was a thoughtful and honest person who I would love to work with again! She made this process so easy and made my fiance and I feel welcome every time we came in. -

My fiance and I were blown away with this venue!!! This is the ideal location: right on the water, ceremony would have been in a beautiful garden setting, and the museum is transformed to an unreal setting for the reception. We met with Nancy from Olympia Catering who has years of experience in wedding planning which showed as she was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and prompt with her communication. Unfortunately my fiance and I were not able to afford this location as we are paying for our own wedding but believe me it would be worth every penny as this location is absolutely breathtaking! I am leaving this review because I really want others to know how spectacular we think this place is and what an amazing first impression we were left with after we met Nancy.

Museum of Fine Arts in downtown St. Pete is one of the most gorgeous ceremony and reception venues I have ever come across. The minute we walked in to check it out for the first time, we fell in love. Its architectural features, ultra high ceilings, modern design, marble floors and picture-perfect banyan trees surrounding the property were just a few of the factors that made our wedding into absolute perfection. We couldn't be happier! -

MFA is such an incredible venue to hold a wedding. Our daughter got married in the Membership garden and it was so beautiful. We had 100 people and had plenty of room. Cocktail hour was on the terrace and inside since it was very hot outside. Our guests were allowed to tour the special exhibit gallery. Our dj was able to set up on the "bridge" overlooking the conservatory which looked very cool. The reception was held in the conservatory. It was so incredibly beautiful. Being surrounded by art and celebrating such a momentous occasion is so touching. Truly THE place in St. Petersburg to have a wedding!!! -

I looked everywhere in the Tampa Bay Area for a Wedding Venue that had a wonderful facility and most importantly a wedding planner/coordinator that fit well with my personality and taste. Nancy Cotto was the most amazing wedding planner and coordinator. She plans in advance and keeps in contact very well. It doesn't matter if she is at work or at home, she is there and has great communication. She lets you know everything you need to have done and gives you suggestions of what will work best for your wedding dream. She knows what looks good and what doesn't. She has been doing wedding planning for a LONG TIME so you are working with a professional. She is an amazing person and works hard for every bride. The decorations, the food, the orchestration of moving people from one room to the next was done perfectly. Everyone was blown away by my wedding and were talking about it for days. People at my wedding had been to million and billion dollar weddings and thought mine was AMAZING. If you are looking for a beautiful wedding venue with an incredible planner/coordinator then Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg is definitely the place to check out :) -

The Museum of Fine Arts is simply the best and most beautiful venue in the area. From the initial meeting with Nancy Cotto, sales manager, until the end of the reception every detail was exquisite. The Gatsby themed wedding ceremony and reception went from concept to dream fulfilled beyond our expectations. We used the conservatory for the ceremony and the Marley Room for the reception both are absolutely beautiful rooms. The staff was professional and friendly. Olympia Catering prepared the menu and the food was outstanding. We have received many compliments on the food from friends and family.
Nancy Cotto was a huge support for my daughter and me from our first meeting to the moment she walked down the aisle, to the last song of the night. She offered her advice and suggestions freely, was always available to answer questions, and to listen to concerns we had. I thank you for making the wedding and reception special. I am grateful to the MFA, Olympia Catering, and Nancy for a memorable evening of food, fun, and punishing the floor!

My husband and I had our wedding reception at MFA in February and it was AMAZING! The caterer (Olympia) and bar (Lundy's) that MFA uses are both great, easy to work with, and fairly priced. We rented the Conservatory and also the permanent exhibit so our guests could wander through both galleries. Our cocktail hour was supposed to be outside on the back porch, however, it was a little rainy so they moved it inside. Not the end of the world!
The best part about renting the museum is that you also get to work with Nancy Cotto, the representative from Olympia Catering. She works strictly at the museum and has been coordinating weddings and events for years. We actually live in NYC so we were planning our wedding from another state. Nancy was great about recommending vendors and offering advice when we needed it. We ended up hiring her suggestions for photographer, florist, lighting, transportation, and linens. She helped make the planning process super easy and low stress, which was important since we don't live in the area.
We were absolutely thrilled with our wedding reception and our guests were too! -

My husband and I couldn't have been happier to have the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, FL as our wedding venue. Our ceremony was held outside under the banyan trees and our reception was in the Conservatory inside the museum. The entire day was so much fun and our guests continued to comment on how great MFA was and how much they enjoyed themselves. We worked with Nancy on every detail from the wedding date right down to the tablecloths and she couldn't have been more helpful for a couple of first-timers. Nancy was so much fun and really knows her business like the back of her hand. I recommend the museum to any couple out there looking for their special venue and I hope you get the chance to work with Nancy like we did. -

I don't even know how to start this review - there is SO much to say!! The venue is gorgeous! My husband and I knew that we wanted a place that matched our personalities and had some character. We did not want a banquet type of place. When we went to the venue we fell in love with the entrance way, the garden where we had the cocktail hour, and the stunning views from the conservatory where we had the reception.
I think the best part of the venue is the coordinator that came with it - Nancy. I don't even know how to start to thank Nancy. I feel like she became a 2nd mom, best friend, and my #1 fan throughout this process. I have NO clue how she dealt with my thousands of emails and calls and random visits to the Museum, but she did - and she did it all promptly and with a smile! She knew exactly what to do and gave us great advise. She handled everything from start to finish day of - she even taught her staff - last minute!! - how to do a champagne parade which had never been done before. It was WONDERFUL! Nancy is amazing and I would recommend the venue just for her!
I cannot thank you guys enough for creating such wonderful memories for our families and us. We will definitely miss everyone and wish we could do it all over again... we will relive every moment through the video!

The venue is absolutely stunning.
Nancy is arguably the most organized person I have ever met, and is completely committed to excellence.
The catering staff takes care of your every need. When we were taking pictures outside, someone brought us food and drinks so we didn't get hungry. Then they brought us plates at our head table so we didn't have to go through the buffet line. Then they called the tables to eat in the order of our preference, so our family could eat first.
They set out all the decorations, and it looked perfect.
They paid attention to every single detail of everything, and you could tell.
Best. Venue. Ever.

People kept telling me the whole time how awesome it was to be able to look through the galleries while we were taking pictures and how stunning the wedding in the membership garden was. If you do book there, book Nancy Cotto and Staci as your wedding coordinators! Trust me, they will make your day more incredible than you could ever imagine. My wedding reception was beautiful! We had it at the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg, FL. It was everything that I had dreamed of and more. It was unique, stunning and exquisite. All of my guests raved about the location and its beauty! Everyone there was so very helpful. The person that I have to give a lot of credit to, though, is the Catering Director/Director for all of your needs for your Wedding, Nancy Cotto. Nancy is one of those angels that come into your life and make everything better! Any question I ever had, Nancy quickly answered and guided me through the whole process. She is patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable. She gives you her honest opinion and makes you feel completely at ease. Trust me, she is the person you want on your team to be your guiding light through to your wedding day. I am so fortunate to have had my wedding reception here and work with such wonderful people, especially Nancy! -

He made great suggestions and made the day just perfect for us. The location of MFA is outstanding and our guest were impressed with the ceremony site (outside MFA), cocktail hour (garden in MFA) and reception (conservatory MFA). There are plenty of hotels nearby for our guests as well as places to eat and bars in walking distance. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. -

Choosing to host our wedding at the Museum of Fine Arts was the best decision we made! I cannot begin to explain how completely amazing everything was. Allison Canfield is so wonderful to work with, the caterer (Olympia Catering) is superb and the staff was fantastic. Everyone is still talking about how amazing and beautiful the venue was, and I love hearing it because it truly was exquisite If you want a wedding that is sophisticated, unique and one that everyone will remember; host it at the MFA! -

The Museum of Fine arts was hands down the best reception venue we looked at when searching for our wedding venue. We held our ceremony under the Banyan trees outside, then held the reception in the Marly Room with cocktail hour in the Membership Garden. We had looked at the ridiculously overpriced Vinoy, and after visiting the Museum shortly after, never looked back. The downtown St. Petersburg area offers so many attractions and hotels within walking distance for out of town guests, has waterfront views without sand everywhere, and tons of nightlife for post-wedding activities. One huge plus for booking with the Museum was our catering, cake, linens, chairs, and bar were included in the contract price, which saved me tons of time and research with having to search for other vendors. They also had a projector available in our room to play a photo slideshow, so we didn’t have to pay to rent this equipment. Alison, the events coordinator, was absolutely spectacular. Super responsive, so understanding and caring, and was actually there to make sure everything on our wedding day went smoothly. I’m so glad I did not hire a wedding planner – I didn’t need one with her help! My favorite story from the day – a newly engaged couple saw our ceremony taking place and sat on a bench in the park to watch. According to a guest, they immediately went inside to speak with someone about booking their wedding at the Museum – seeing our ceremony made up their mind on venue selection. -

My wedding at the Museum of Fine Arts was just perfect. Everyone at the venue was extremely helpful and easy to work with. They have an exclusive contract with Olympia catering, and I'm so glad they do! Everyone has raved about the food and cake, and many have told me it is the best food they have ever had at a wedding. It was so fun for the guests to have access to the galleries! It was the perfect setting for a magical evening! -

The Museum of Fine Arts was the perfect wedding venue. We got immediate responses to our e-mails, they were very flexible with meeting times and tours of the facility before the wedding. The day of the wedding, everything was perfect and the wedding went off without a hitch. I would recommend the museum to any couple for their wedding day. Thank you Allison! -

I guess every wedding is a little different. Nancy from the museum was ready to make this wedding the special one that we had envisioned. She worked with us, worked with the florist, worked with the caterers, photographers and videographers to bring it all together for one spectacular afternoon and evening. The museum is great and just spectacular at night. Since the wedding we have heard over and over about the beauty of the setting (ceremony between the banyan trees and water) and the beauty of the museum and courtyard (reception). Thanks for taking care of EVERY detail. -

The Museum of Fine Arts is a beautiful venue with lots of room options for both ceremony and reception depending on what you’re looking for. The Museum’s fee includes their very helpful staff, security staff, and access to galleries for guests for a set time. It also includes a weeding coordinator, Alison Canfield, who was very nice and accommodating, but she really didn’t have a whole lot to do as far as wedding coordination itself (she largely handles logistics and contracts) – Darren from Olympia Catering handles most of the wedding-specific items. When you book the Museum, you are locked into their caterer for food and cake (Olympia) and drinks (Lundy’s), but they’re such good vendors it wasn’t a problem. Venue rental is pretty reasonably priced for what you have.
It’s really a beautiful, unique, impressive venue. They provided the set-up of tables and chairs for the reception and chairs for the ceremony – when it threatened rain just as our ceremony was about to begin everyone was out there in the garden hauling chairs inside to the Marley Room, which they used as a back-up. It wasn’t what we had planned, but even without decoration the Marley Room was a beautiful location for the ceremony.
It’s really a great place for a wedding – be sure to get the up-lighting if you use the conservatory space, because it will look spectacular. We loved it, and we’ve gotten a lot of compliments on what an impressive venue it was. Definitely look into it, and try to book early! It’s getting to be a very popular choice in downtown St. Pete. -

Amazing! So many of our guests said this was the best and most beautiful wedding they have ever been too. The venue is like no other in the area and very reasonable for the cost. Our wedding reception was in the Membership garden for the cocktail hour and the Marly room for the reception. I have to say that Darren Diaz is such a hard worker and a fantastic caterer as well as event coordinator. I am so glad we picked the Museum of Fine Arts as our venue. We used the Museum of Fine Arts Conservatory for our wedding reception and it was beautiful! All of our guests appreciated the unique quality of our venue and said what a beautiful space it was for a wedding reception. The Conservatory offers a more modern feel, but the Marley ballroom was just as beautiful. The good thing about this venue is that its unique (not a hotel ballroom) but it still has the capacity to handle weddings. Allison Canfield is a great addition to the museum's staff... she was recently hired on with the museum for special events and she's been a pleasure to work with. Very responsive and professional but still down to earth. The museum was one the best decisions we made. Note though that if you do choose the museum, you will definitely be using Olympia Catering, but their staff is just as great. -

The Museum of Fine Arts was the perfect venue for us - we had our ceremony in the Marly Room, cocktails in the Membership Garden, and reception in the Conservatory. We had 140 guests at our wedding. It was a pleasure to work with Nancy Cotto, as she is knowledgeable, experienced, easy-going, and was committed to giving us the wedding of our dreams. She offered honest feedback, helped to keep us and our families calm during planning, and is a lot of fun! She helped us plan a menu that met our needs, fit our budget, and tasted great! Our guests' favorites included the lamb lollipops and jumbo shrimp cocktail hors d'oeurdvres, and the petit filet and vegetarian (Portobello and vegetables) entrees – the mascarpone mashed potatoes were phenomenal! Our dinner tables were beautifully set, and the staff at the MFA setup our ceremony and reception spaces perfectly - no need for us to supervise anything! We are also so grateful to Debbie Aaron for helping us create the perfect wedding cake - it exceeded our expectations, as it was both tasty and beautiful! Debbie also arranged for small plates of delicious bite-sized pastries on every table. -

We have been planning our wedding for about a year. As soon as we walked into the Conservatory, we knew the MFA was the right space for us. The entire space is beautiful and includes both modern areas as well as more traditional looking spaces. This combination was perfect in my opinion. Securing our date was relatively easy and the rental fee is considered a donation to the Museum (which I personally loved instead of just giving money to a catering hall). Allison was very quick to respond and good to work with.
Once we started our actual wedding planning process, we had the wonderful pleasure of working with Nancy from Olympia Catering (exclusive caterer for the MFA). Nancy was CRUCIAL for the entire process leading up to our big day. She walked us through all of our major decisions, referred the vast majority of all our other vendors (who were all great to work with), and was present for our entire wedding. Words cannot express how thankful we were to have been able to work with her and there is no way we could have imagined it without her.
Everything looked perfect on the day of. Our one wish item would have been to be able to rent the space for one extra hour (our wedding was from 6-11 so it was not necessary but we still wanted to party!). If you can afford it, it is definitely nice to rent out the entire space. Access to the galleries is allowed during part of the time, and our (especially older) guests took advantage of it.
Additionally, the location of the MFA is perfect if you want your guests to have access to other things to do, especially if you have a lot of out of town guests (which we did). Hotels/bars/restaurants are extremely convenient and close by. Our guests stayed at both the Vinoy as well as the Hampton Inn, and we provided a Trolley service to/from for our guests so they did not have to walk in the heat, but if your date is during the cooler months this would not have been 100% necessary.

Amazing venue
We were married at the MFA on 4/22/22 and the day was an absolute dream. We had our ceremony under the banyan trees, cocktail hour on the terrace, and reception in the observatory. The observatory was even more beautiful with views of the new St. Pete Pier in the background. The staff and vendors were professional and accommodating, even as we rescheduled several times due to the pandemic. -

I planned our wedding (December, 2012) from half way across the country and Nancy Cotto was absolutely wonderful. She was more than helpful and extremely flexible in everything. You name it, she was ready and willing to help. The venue was beautiful and our guests loved that they could tour the museum during cocktail hour. We don't have our pictures back yet but I'm sure they're gorgeous because the venue just set everything off. The museum employees were also very flexible the day-of. It ended up being JUST cold enough to make cocktail hour outside uncomfortable so they moved it indoors at the last minute - AWESOME! One thing to really consider when booking venues - you really don't want to have to drop things off or set things up the day of. We were able to drop everything off the day before, with simple instructions, and it was all set up to exact specifications. We also didn't have to worry about clean up!
The food (Olympia Catering) was absolutely incredible too - they're contracted with the museum as the food provider. Their stuffed chicken is to die for and our guests asked about having extra! They also were flexible with food choices - we wanted broccoli instead of asparagus and it was a very easy change. We also wanted hot chocolate instead of an additional appetizer. Again - no problem and it was a hit! The cake was also included which saves a lot of money! -

The Museum of Fine Arts was a perfect venue for our ceremony and reception. We had our ceremony outside on the lawn and the reception in the Marly room. Allison was very quick to respond to questions, when she didn't know she would ask Darren (the caterer); however, he was a little slower to respond. They allowed the art galleries to be open for the first hour and a half of the reception and had a volunteer docent give a tour. Darren set up the chairs and decorations for the ceremony and the cocktail hour.
My only issue is there is very limited parking, but I didn't hear any complaints from guests so I guess it was fine. Also, we gave all of our decorations the day before to be set up, but our guest book pens got lost and the guest book sign was misplaced several times. Only minor issues though.
All in all, the museum was very beautiful, our guests loved looking at the art. It was very elegant and affordable for what is included. I would have loved to have a couple extra hours without having to pay so much more though. You have to use Olympia catering and Lundy's for alcohol. -

We absolutely loved this venue! We got married in the Marly Room and the two gardens and ballroom we're gorgeous and exactly what we were looking for. The ceremony, which was in the Membership garden, was exactly like we envisioned except that there was a mechanical whirring sound that was slightly distracting. Other than that, we couldn't have wished for a better venue and service. Beautiful backdrop for a wedding. We had our ceremony in the Marley room, cocktails in the Membership Garden and reception in the Conservatory. We had 172 guests.
You will work directly with Nancy Cotto the Catering Sales Manager for Olympia Catering. You can also hire her as your day of coordinator, like I did. She is very helpful throughout the process and very knowledgeable. I wouldn't say that Nancy and I meshed perfectly, but she put on an outstanding wedding. I would recommend her to other brides and I would use her again.
Olympia Catering is contracted with the MFA, so you must use them. They were great, staff was very nice. Food was good, but not perfect, you can check out that separate review under "Olympia Catering". For liquor, you will also only be able to use Lundy's, which again, they were wonderful!
I still receive lots of nice compliments about the wedding and how "elegant" everything was. -

We are so pleased that we chose MFA for our wedding. Nancy (event coordinator) was a pleasure to work with. The fact that we didn't have to think about the caterer, cake, linens, or bartender was a major plus. The only snag was that we were unable to access the venue for our rehearsal, but in the end it didn't really matter. Everything turned out wonderfully...beyond our expectations. -

The museum is a beautiful place to have your reception! We used the Marly room and the membership garden. It was such a special night and everything went perfectly. Because the museum hosts a good number of weddings and works SEAMLESSLY with olympia catering there was absolutely nothing for me to worry about the whole night. It was a little expensive in the end because you must use Olympia for catering and Lundy's for alcohol, but they are all so familiar with the venue that it is really easy to work with the other vendors there. -

The Museum of Fine Arts was a beautiful Venue. We had both our ceremony and reception there. We chose the membership garden for our ceremony, and the Marley Room for our sit down reception. We were also able to have a cocktail hour in the statue garden which was nice. Our wedding was approximately 100 people.
Initially, we did a have a little trouble with scheduling, but because we booked the venue so far out, it was taken care of almost immediately. Otherwise, there were no other large logistic issues of note.
All of our guests were able to have access to the permanent exhibits, but obviously were not allowed to bring drinks into the exhibits to protect the art. I would recommend a wedding planner with experience with the venue due to the fluid nature of the museum. Having someone that could assist guests the right way to promote flow of your event would be beneficial.
We were required to use Olympia catering, Lundy's bar, and Courtesy valet. All of which were excellent vendors, and we had no issue with whatsoever. All the other vendors are up to the couple. We were additionally required to purchase insurance, which was relatively easy to do as well.
All of our guests were very impressed with the museum. It's already mostly decorated, so minimal floral and lights were required. Additionally, after the wedding our guests were able to progress through the St. Petersburg night life seamlessly! We were really able to showcase the St. Petersburg nightlife, and show they why we loved the burg.
The reason for the 4 out of 5 rating was mainly related to the initial scheduling issues and the requirement of vendors. While we had no issues with these requirements, I could see how they could pose issues to other couples. This venue was absolutely beautiful, and would highly recommend! -

The MFA is certainly not a bargain venue, but in the end it was not more expensive than any other place I looked once I tallied up all the costs---and it was worth every penny. I was concerned about using this venue because of the hype that it was one of the "top wedding venues" in the area--I thought it might be too snobby or stuffy. Happily, I was wrong. We had the wedding we imagined with the best service we could have hoped for. One of the best features was that the banquet captain, who is part of the package, made sure we had appetizers, drinks, full plates of dinner, seconds, and a to-go box of our favorites from the night, as well as first dips on our ice cream sundae bar. We had heard that some couples never get to enjoy their food and drink at their wedding--definitely not the case for us, which was great and super important! We were able to socialize and spend time together while still enjoying all of the special treats we had arranged for our wedding. As so many people warned me, most of our wedding went by in a blur--but I can say that it all ran seamlessly thanks to the staff at the MFA. -

This venue was amazing. The price was eminently reasonable, and though they required us to use their catering and bar vendors, we were happily surprised by both. I doubt given the choice we could have chosen better. And in the end the space was a gem and remarked upon by our guests as both unique and beautiful. Our guests also loved the area. Staying in downtown St. Petersburg with all of the museums, art, food, and nightlife was a major plus. On the negative side, the museum doesn't allow open flames, balloons, any rigging and probably a dozen other decor options that we could have tried. They weren't very responsive to our questions and refused to work with us beyond exactly what we paid for. So overall it was great despite some frustrations in the lead up to the reception. -

Prices are a little steep. Spaces are limited and you can tell that they know this. However we loved the venue and wanted our wedding there. -

I've noticed that a lot of five-star reviewers used Nancy as a day-of coordinator. Not a problem, but I think it's valuable to have the perspective of someone who didn't.
We fell in love with MFA St. Pete the first time we visited and knew it was our venue. Everyone was very responsive and helpful as we started the process of booking the museum.
Let me start with our rehearsal: To keep this short, it was a mess. The museum double-booked the Marly Room and had another event being set up at the same time, so my bridal party was dodging cocktail tables and vendors as we practiced for the ceremony. Whatever –– we're flexible, and our day-of coordinator was a rockstar. One super annoying thing, though: As my bridal party was waiting in the museum lobby, a museum security guard BARKED at us to be quiet. I'm sorry, but we didn't pay $7,000 in just venue costs to be yelled at by a wannabe cop the day before our wedding. (For the record, we talked to the venue and our wedding day was much smoother –– mean security guard nowhere to be found.)
This is the point where it's important for me to say that I think Nancy was much more accommodating before she knew we'd booked day-of services with someone else.
The day of our wedding, we had an issue with the valet service –– they didn't show up on time. My dad had to recruit wedding guests to help park cars. My mom happened to see Nancy inside the museum and ask her who to contact and she responded by saying, "I'm not the valet girl." We get it, not your job –– but the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth.
Enough of my complaining. I'll say this: The food was awesome, our head of security at the wedding was very courteous, and we didn't have any problems once the ceremony and reception kicked off. If you're looking for a flexible venue, this isn't it –– there are so many rules –– but it's also a working museum, so cut 'em some slack. Beautiful exhibits and we loved being right on the water. -

The MFA in St. Petersburg is a beautiful venue for a wedding reception. I fell in love with the location because of it's beautiful architectural features, it's classic elegance, it's great location in downtown St. Pete, and because they allow your guests to tour the art galleries during your event.
However... their event coordinator took a leave of absence and then quit her job during the time I was planning my wedding and it took a while for the museum to fill her position. To make matters worse, we later found out that she told us several things that weren't true (like we would be the only event that night). And of course, there are strict rules as it's a museum. So I have to give low scores for responsiveness, professionalism, and flexibility.
That being said, the new event coordinator at the MFA (Allison) is very friendly and she tried her best to make it up to us. Had she been there from the beginning, our overall experience would likely have been excellent. Also, the MFA's required vendors- Lundy's for bar service and Olympia for catering- are fabulous and provided excellent service!
On wedding day, everything was beautiful and went smoothly. Hence 5/5 for quality of service.
It's a very special venue, and though it was stressful during the planning process for the reasons mentioned above, in the end I was so glad that we had our reception in the Marly Room at the MFA in St. Petersburg. -

We were very happy with the venue itself, though in my opinion the staff left a lot to be desired. I did not find my point of contact very professional and I found that details kept changing as the date of my event grew closer. The food was superb and the event itself was handled marvelously, but the process leading to the wedding stressed me out to the point that I hired a wedding planner (though I hadn't been planning to) just so I could have someone else present at my meetings and to assist with the things that I felt were falling through the cracks. -
