We hosted our wedding reception at Mountain Terrace and could not have been happier with our experience. The setting alone is absolutely gorgeous, but this venue does not assume its location is enough. Every interaction from the initial intake, the tasting (they have an INCREDIBLY talented onsite chef), the wedding coordination lead-up to the set-up and service for actual event was OUTSTANDING! Our guests were blown away by the venue, the food and the exceptional service. I cannot think of one thing I would do differently - if you are considering Mountain Terrace...BOOK IT NOW! -

As a Wedding Videographer referrals are my preferred way to connect with future clients. Whether by photographer, planner or venue - It is the highest compliment! Whenever I see a referral from The Mountain Terrace I am delighted. It is a stunning venue and is the perfect mix of a variety of locations and a compact, accessible and comfortable venue. It is so well designed and offers beautiful views as well as cozy places for guests to enjoy. The locations for filming are gorgeous as well, between the redwood trees, sweeping views, expansive lawn and twinkle lights hanging from the white tent - the backdrops are perfect to capture the many sides of a Wedding Day. I am always impressed by the food and the professionalism of the staff. They care so much for their clients and guests experiences and have high standards that they hold for all the vendors as well as their staff. I always feel a part of a team which helps me serve my clients all the better! I am grateful to have built the relationship that I have with Caren, Anastasia, and Kristy and look forward to seeing more referrals in my inbox and having the opportunity to film at The Mountain Terrace many more times! -

I run a DJ entertainment Company, Justintertainment, based here in The Bay Area. We have had the pleasure of partnering with the team at The Mountain Terrace for several Years and are preferred Vendors to provide DJ Entertainment, Lighting, and photobooths at Weddings and events at Mountain Terrace. There are several beautiful Venues in the Bay Area but this one is special! The serene view on teh Ceremony Lawn is absolutely breathtaking! They also recently remodeled teh dinner patio the interior is classwic and classy at teh same time. Its big enough to host a huge reception but cizy enough to not be too spread out . Moreover, I LOVE the events team! They are amazing to work with! Caren, Anastasia, and Kristy are organized attentive and truly passionate about making their client's dreams come true! Everything always goes so smoothly and that is rare in our industry. Its a truly testament to their experience, their preparation and planning, and their standards for the level of service they provide. If you want a venue that combines charm, elegance AND exceptional service...look no further! -

I have officiated dozens of weddings at Mountain Terrace over the past 20 years. Not only is it a spectacular location, but the staff is unfailingly kind, efficient, talented, and professional. I always assure my couples that their wedding will run smoothly because the onsite coordinators will have everything under control. As an officiant, I find it such a relief to know that these professionals will take charge of every aspect of the rehearsal, ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. They are the best! -

I am a wedding photographer and have been working with the Mountain Terrace for more than 10 years now. They are, and have always been, absolutely wonderful to work with. The entire staff is so attentive and work seamlessly together to make sure all guests have an amazing experience. I have seen them go above and beyond countless times to give their couples the wedding of their dreams. You can’t beat the peaceful and majestic redwood setting either. Serene, picturesque, and run by a fantastic team.
As a local California wedding photographer, I’ve had the joy of working at The Mountain Terrace in Woodside many times over the past few years, and it’s truly one of my favorite venues. Nestled among the towering redwoods, this place offers a magical blend of natural beauty and charm that’s perfect for weddings from 20 people to 150. No matter the size, it always feels like an elevated backyard weddings with seamless transitions between spaces with plenty of photo oppurtunities. The outdoor ceremony space, with its meadow and stunning views of the Bay Area, is absolutely breathtaking. And the transition to a yummy dinner on the deck makes for such a cozy evening to top off the celebration. Not to mention, the fire pits + s’mores option at the end of the night is an excellent way to make sure all guests feel comfortable and can enjoy their time - dance party or no!
From a photographer’s perspective, this venue is a dream. The redwoods, open spaces, and panoramic views create endless opportunities for gorgeous photos, no matter the season or time of day. Plus, the staff here are amazing - always professional, friendly, and on top of everything, making every event run smoothly. I highly recommend working with their venue coordinators to keep things running smoothly, and the kitchen staff is beyond. I ALWAYS look forward to dinners at Mountain Terrace as they use fresh and seasonal ingredients and have some of the best dinner options of any of the venues I’ve worked at.
If you’re looking for a wedding venue that’s serene, picturesque, and run by a fantastic team, The Mountain Terrace is a fantastic choice. It’s a place where unforgettable memories are made! -

Everyone on the Heart of Gold DJ team jumps at the opportunity to work there, as we love the natural beauty of the patio & meadow, as well as the beautiful and cozy indoor space where we've had many an excellent dance party :) Kristy and the MT team are always SO helpful, going above and beyond to support their vendors & clients, no matter what the situation or weather. They make it a breeze for clients in providing in house catering that is absolutely delicious and we always have a blast working there. Couldn’t love The Mountain Terrace more!
I write this review as both a vendor and a past bride who got married at The Mountain Terrace. TMT is fantastic in every way from both my vantage points!
As a bride, (years ago) everything was just perfect! The staff was so helpful every step of the way- kind, funny, helpful finding vendors and giving advice. The food was amazing! We just wish we could’ve brought doggie bags home with us after! The venue itself is beautiful and peaceful. You feel like you’re so much further away in this forest like nook, overlooking the whole Bay Area. Inside is cozy and romantic- perfect for flooding with candlelight. When we were looking at venues, TMT was the only spot that checked all the boxes- unique, forest inspired rustic, but not too rustic, not hard to get to, all inclusive, and we both knew immediately when we saw the venue that we couldn’t do any better.
My more recent experiences over the past 17 + years come as a florist on their vendor list. Every year I’m at TMT numerous times and always, the staff there are phenomenal. They always check in ahead of time to confirm details in order to make the day go smoothly. They are always helping the couple with whatever needs to be done. The setting itself is hard to do justice in this review. When I speak to brides working with TMT, I find myself describing to them, that while of course as a florist, I’m happy to fill every corner with beautiful blooms, at TMT you don’t HAVE to. What I mean by that, is that the setting is so natural and lovely on its own, that you don’t need to go crazy with flowers to give it a personality. I’ve seen and done just about every color combine to on and the fresh, natural back drop allows anything to work, which is so comforting. It allows couples to put their stamp on the venue, while not competing or conflicting with any existing aesthetic.
I could go on and on, but I think it’s quite clear how highly I will always recommend The Mountain Terrace. -

As a wedding planner, I very much appreciated the team's attention to detail and quick responses--so important when the planning wheel is moving fast and furious! Caren in particular is on top of all the wedding details, and her day-of staff of Juan and Javier are at the top of their game. And the food! Best food we've had--rivaling meals provided by five-star venues we've worked with. Simply incredible. This is a true Bay Area gem of a venue: redwoods, plenty of room for lawn games, mingling, dancing... your guests will be wowed, and you will be glad to have this amazing team be a part of your event's success. 10/10 highly recommend. We can't wait to come back as a team to plan another wedding here! -

We had our wedding at the Mountain Terrace and it was nothing short of a dream experience, from our first visit through the last minute of our wedding day. The site is beautiful, of course, but beyond that, the team at the Mountain Terrace is a well-oiled machine. The planners were such a pleasure to work with, bringing professionalism, experience, and a sense of confidence that always eased our anxious pre-wedding stresses. The chef and his team are next-level, exceeding our expectations of how good the food at a wedding can be. How they delivered that quality for 100 people is beyond me, but my wife and I couldn’t be happier with our experience. I wish we could get married there fifty more times. What a dream. -

After a few months search around for our wedding venue and not completely sold on any of the options, our wedding planner re-mentioned that the Mountain Terrace in Woodside, CA was available during the time that were looking at (September/October). We booked the Mountain Terrace sight unseen aside from photos and a zoom presentation we got from the venue on their options as we no longer in the state and couldn’t readily get out there to see it in person. We are so happy that we ended up booking with them and recommend booking them as your venue as Anastasia and her team made our wedding day perfect. The venue and views are gorgeous and needs very little decor as they have picturesque views of the bay along with a large deck and hanging light that made for a very pretty night. In addition, staff was very attentive throughout the process from appetizer, meal, beverage, setup, and decor planning all the way through our wedding day. While the Mountain Terrace was pricey than the other venues we looked at, it also provided everything we needed from beverages, appetizers, decor, and food which made the planning process much less stressful. If you have the option to book The Mountain Terrace, i would highly recommend having them as your venue -

Choosing the Mountain Terrace was hands down, the best choice my husband and I made for our wedding. We were looking for an outdoor venue in the redwoods, and this fit the bill- it's absolutely beautiful. My husband and I are both very laid back, and Caren from TMT emailed us every few months, reminding us of details she needed to know, which turned out to be so helpful in keeping us on track. Without her, we would have been pretty disorganized. The day of, all the staff went above and beyond to make our day special. They brought champagne to the bridal suite, made up a plate of hors d'oeuvres for my husband and I while we were busy taking photos, arranged our cake with our bouquets as decoration on the dessert table, and the bartender even learned some guests' favorite drinks. At the end of the night, they boxed up the remaining desserts for us to take home, and even helped us clean up. It was clear this venue hosts lots of events and really knows what they are doing. If you are looking for a beautiful outdoors venue with lots of classy details, and amazing customer service, this is it! -

We got married in this absolutely stunning venue in July. We were initially attracted to this venue due to its location - somewhat convenient for the bay area, located along the Skyline so the weather stays cool in the summer, and surrounded by the redwood and sequoia trees that are meaningful to us. After having visited and talking with the staff and owners, it became apparent that they have strong communication skills and provide excellent customer service. Having their own in-house catering proved to be very convenient and we were completely satisfied with the quality of their food in the end. We worked with Anastasia as our coordinator and she was truly fantastic in both helping us prepare for the event and making sure everything ran smoothly the day of. The Mountain Terrace was attentive to our requests and worked with us on our customization needs. The staff were genuinely warm and friendly that helped to put the guests at ease. I have so much appreciation for their clear communication, transparent pricing, excellent vendor relationships, and customer-forward business model. It was a tough call for us to make at the time in choosing the right venue, but in hindsight, we absolutely made the correct choice. I can't endorse the Mountain Terrace enough and I would highly recommend you visit and talk with them to see if they will also be the right venue for you. -

Melissa Sent on 09/15/2011We loved having our ceremony and reception at Mountain Terrace. The setting is beautiful, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the food was very good. There were lots of little additional charges for various little things, but they were up front about them. Everyone commented about what a beautiful venue it was and we loved having our wedding there. We worried about music volume for our band beforehand but it did not turn out to be a problem. Just remember it is chilly there at night - even in August! -

The Mountain Terrace was the PERFECT venue for our "Enchanted Forest" wedding! With around 75 guests, the venue felt intimate yet spacious, creating a warm and magical atmosphere for our special day.
Wedding Planner: Caren, the venue wedding planner, was an absolute gem. She was incredibly responsive and helpful, promptly answering all our questions and guiding us through the planning process. Her expertise and recommendations were invaluable, making the entire experience less stressful and more manageable. We couldn't have asked for a better planner to help bring our dream wedding to life, especially since we didn't hire any professional planners!
Set-up: The standard 2-hour set-up time was tight, especially for our florist to arrange the arch and tables. We would recommend paying the early set-up fee to allow our vendors to set up without feeling rushed and allow for a stress-free bridal and wedding party photo opportunity. Unfortunately, the venue is not flexible with early arrival for photos or set-up.
Musicians: The venue's no-amplified-music policy means that budgeting for at least three outdoor musicians is a must. We hired 2 musicians and didn't think the music was loud enough. The live music added a beautiful, natural ambiance to the ceremony, perfectly complementing the serene forest surroundings.
Staff: From the pre-tour Facetime to the day of the wedding, the staff at The Mountain Terrace were outstanding. They were all incredibly nice, detail-oriented, and efficient, which gave us complete confidence that they would execute every detail of our vision flawlessly. Their professionalism and dedication were evident at every stage, ensuring our day went off without a hitch.
Dinner Service/Food: The food was amazing! We received numerous compliments from our guests, many of whom said it was one of the best meals they've ever had at a wedding. The menu offered a variety of nut-free, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, catering to all dietary needs. The dinner service was impressively efficient, with all guests served and finished within an hour, allowing us to smoothly transition to the evening's festivities.
Transportation: Given the venue's somewhat secluded location, we found that renting a shuttle for our guests was a great decision. It made getting to and from the venue much easier and ensured everyone arrived on time and safely.
Overall, The Mountain Terrace provided the perfect backdrop for our enchanted forest wedding. The venue's natural beauty, exceptional staff, and delicious food made our day unforgettable. We highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a magical and intimate wedding experience! -

I love how my wedding turned out. I loved the day-of staff. I loved the view, the food, the venue, the aesthetics. I loved everything except one person.
The food here is so amazing. All of my guests complimented the wedding so much. I want to say most of it was about how beautiful this place is and/or how delicious the food was. The food was to die for! I was so disappointed when I couldn't have any of the appetizers during cocktail hour, so the employees grabbed some for me during dinner! The staff is so amazing.
The only downfall of this place is their wedding coordinator. It was so hard to talk to her, to get messages across. I told her to talk to my wedding planner about everything and it literally took me telling her three times before she got the message. If you're not prepared to do things their way, be prepared for a difficult planning experience. -

While the redwoods and mountain views are undeniably lovely, the service at The Mountain Terrace felt transactional, disingenuous, and ultimately unwelcoming.
We had an introduction video call with Kim, where she showed us layout options for the venue. Her disposition was monochromatic (smiling with her mouth, but not her eyes), especially when congratulating us. It felt very forced. But I figured she just had a long day; no problem.
We communicated during the initial contact as well as during the video call, that our guinea pigs and bunnies are like family to us. As such, we want them to be present at the wedding. When we followed up on this, we were told how people usually hire sitters or put them in crates. I asked about their comfort with at least having them on the lawn area during the ceremony, as they weren't allowed anywhere else - even in the home rental. She repeated her statement about sitters and crates.
I saw the most enthusiasm from her while discussing the pricing. She suggested the premium drink package and home rental (with a strict "no pet" policy). After we explicitly stated our pets travel with us, our needs were clearly not being considered.
So we naturally declined the rental for ourselves, but mentioned the home would be great for our grandma, who has accessibility needs( she is in her late 90's).
Upon arriving for the tour, we followed the signs past the front and through the back fence to the venue. Lovely area with the redwoods in the background. We weren't a fan of the fake golf-grounds grass down the walkway, but the fire pit area and swing were cute.
Unfortunately, the interpersonal experience was equally off-putting with Anastasia. From the time we arrived to when we left, we did not get the impression that we were welcome. I had to initiate a handshake, a basic greeting and form of respect, which was met with a visible pause and the same forced, disingenuous expression as Kim.
While we love that there would be a coordinator (I believe in the $2k range at the time I am writing this), as well as a provided list of vendors, we weren't a fan of how long we would have access to the site itself. They claim use for 8 hours, however there's only 5 hours available for the ceremony. 2 hours are used prior to the ceremony for the setup, and an hour near the end is used for the take down. We were told we didn't have to leave immediately at the end, but there isn't much reason to stay once the takedown starts at 9/10pm without food or seating. There's a $1k + labor charge for each additional hour.
She showed us around and left us with some albums inside to look through for inspiration, as well as time to walk the lot.
She mentioned there was an onsite house rental, but didn't show us the house. There was clearly no communication or consideration between team members regarding my grandmother’s accessibility needs.
She even briefly showed us color options for the linen, but told us that she excluded another batch because "they were pricey".
More concerning was the lack of diversity in their marketing; out of the several albums of couples with their families and friends on their special day, we found only one person of color, who was a guest. As a couple looking to see ourselves reflected in a venue's history, this was a major red flag.
The most telling moment happened as we left. After reaching my car, I realized I forgot my water bottle and stepped back inside, only to find the heater on and music playing. When I returned to the lot, I saw another couple arriving for a tour.
We were never offered music or heating at any point. The couple was Caucasian, which shouldn't matter in an ideal world, but it did. It was a stark, painful contrast that confirmed we simply weren't given the "welcome treatment".
To note, it was only under a half an hour from when we arrived.
While the venue was pretty, it was clear that we weren't welcome; we clearly are not their ideal clients.
If you are looking for a venue that considers your approaching 100 grandparent, works with people of color, and offers basic, genuine hospitality, I would suggest looking elsewhere. -

I'd my wedding at this venue first week of July and the event planning and coordination team here are rude, incompetent and unprofessional to say the least. They changed my day of coordinator at the last moment and didn't even bother informing me until I got to the venue an hour before my wedding. My family had to run around managing the event and coordinating every little detail while the substitute coordinator was clueless and missed out on our requirements they gathered from me over the planning phase through multitude of ridiculous forms. The staff there started clearing out the chairs from the ceremony site while the ceremony was still in progress. And this is just one of the many many things that went wrong. The worst part is that they don't even have the minimum decency to send me a formal apology. I was hoping to let a few days pass before my emotions get the better of me. But the staff has since ghosted me. Their behavior and lack of basic decency has appalled me. Don't be fooled by the initial fluff and steer clear of this venue for your big day
