I can't say enough lovely things about Melissa. She is the first vendor that I booked for my November 2012 wedding because I knew I had to have her shoot my special day! My now-husband and I also flew her out to NYC to shoot our engagement photos and it is some of the best money I have ever spent. She was easy to coordinate with via phone and email (despite the fact that we were planning our Michigan wedding from so far away!). On the wedding day, Melissa and her assistant were both awesome and stepped in to help with a few small things. You can tell that she does weddings ALL THE TIME. She is laid-back and professional, and I would hire her again in a heartbeat.

Melissa was great! The only issue was that it took 7 weeks longer than what the contract stated to get our photos back. It was also a little difficult to get a hold of her via e-mail. The photos were well worth the wait though!

Melissa is the most talented photographer I have ever worked with. She is very professional but has a great personality and is so fun to work with! She did both our engagement photos and our wedding photos and I could not have asked for more. Melissa was the perfect choice for our wedding photography! We found her website online, as we planned our wedding from Georgia, and communicated through emails and phone calls mostly but I couldn't have been more satisfied even if we had discussions in person! Honestly when I first met Melissa at a bridal show I thought her work was amazing, but I was afraid she was going to be out of our budget, even though photography was something we were willing to splurge on. After talking to and meeting with a million other vendors with no luck, I started reviewing the brochures I had received at bridal shows, and stumbled upon hers again. Surprisingly enough her prices weren't all that steep compared to similar quality photographers in the area AND she was willing to travel a couple hours to do our pictures! Once we met her, we knew without a doubt she was the one for us. (Just a back story, we always had a signal that we would do when we didn't like a vendor… a big X on the back of the other person… there were LOTS of those before we met Melissa!) We felt SO comfortable with her, and isn't that what good pictures are all about? Being relaxed, comfortable, and able to have a good time without making it looked forced? Anyways, the engagement session, which was rained out 3 times before we were able to actually have it (talk about dedication from her!) went amazing! She drove to the spot we wanted to use and shot for a good couple hours or so! We couldn't get enough compliments from our friends and family about how good they were! Then came the actual wedding. She brought another photographer with her, who I hadn't met so I was a bit nervous, and she was just as wonderful!!! Together we had lots of laughs and captured some really great moments. All of our family commented on how "unnoticed" she was at the wedding. She didn't feel the need to be up in people's faces, but still captured all the shots we wanted and then some! We all knew she was there, but she never once made pictures forced or awkward.

I would HIGHLY recommend Melissa Copeland Photography to any bride that wants fun, good quality pictures. If you're looking for cookie cutter or posed pictures then she is not for you… you gotta have some personality!!! Oh, and if you are up for it, do the "first look"… it was one of the best moments of the entire wedding, and you don't even notice photographers are there!
