A Wonderful Quartet and Administration

The quartet's music was exquisite. The director of the group, Paloma, was responsive to what we wanted to quartet to play, gave us suggestions, and both ordered music, with the help of the music librarian, in addition to their excellent repertoire. We couldn't have been happier with the atmosphere the quartet provided. The music was an integral part of our rehearsal dinner.

phenomenal, beautiful music

Martha Long played flute for our wedding ceremony, and she was spectacular. She was incredibly flexible with meeting our needs for custom songs - and she played flawlessly. I would recommend Martha without reservation, she is phenomenal!!!

Very professional

We had the flute trio for the ceremony and cocktails. Absolutely loved the music, classical and elegant for a beautiful summer afternoon in a garden.

The Utmost Professional Company

We hired the Melagari Chamber Music Players to play at our son's wedding. We even requested a couple of special arrangements. They were so amazing and made our son's wedding even that more special! Easy to work with, communicate with and they were very attentive to our needs. We 100% recommend them!

Love the group. Made our day so very special!

We loved having the Melegari Chamber Players at our wedding. Having live music for the pre-wedding, ceremony, and cocktail hour made the day so special. Our guests continue to rave about the quality of the group and how unique it was to have them there. Very affordable for what you get, and worth every penny!

A wonderful traditional touch to our wedding

This was a beautiful addition to the wedding and cocktail hour! They played both classical music and sone more current songs we requested. Very easy to work with!!

Sarah and all the ladies at Melegari Chambers were wonderful to work with! They were very accommodating to specific requests and the contracts and payment were completed easily. I would recommend them for anyone looking for live music for a wedding and/or any event they are hosting!

My family hired the Melegari Players to play a 90th birthday party. They were superb from every possible perspective. Beautiful music. Deep repertoire. Excellent communication. Effortless flexibility. Good-tempered understanding of crowd and party dynamics. We would hire the Melegari Chamber Players again in a second.

Havig Melegari play at both our wedding ceremony and reception was one of the best decisions I made in preparation for our wedding; the joy they brought to the day through their music defined our wedding day. Paloma was absolutely fabulous to work with. She asked great questions to understand what we truly wanted, always responded quickly, gave excellent recommendations, and had great solutions to make it all cost effective. The music selections we ended up with just personalized our wedding so much and made the music about us and our families. Even though our first dance song was not on their repertoire, they learned it quickly and played it perfectly for one of my favorite and most joyful moments looking back at our wedding. The string quartet playing the father daughter dance was also just wonderful and brought happy tears to our eyes. I can't say enough for the entire group and am so grateful I found them. Thank you!!!

Sarah Roth was my contact person for arranging for music at my daughter's wedding.
She was very helpful during the process leading up to the wedding and the music on the wedding day was
lovely. The live music before the ceremony gave such a welcoming feel to our guests, the ceremony music
was beautiful and the music during cocktails continued the joyous feeling of the day. It was a pleasure working with Sarah and the Melegari Chamber Players.

The Melagari Chamber Trio played for my wedding ceremony and for the following cocktail hour. Their beautiful and flawless performance of the more contemporary songs I had chosen contributed to a memorable evening. I found them responsive and well prepared. We had a string quartet play during our formal wedding ceremony and cocktail hour at Hotel deLuxe. I highly recommend Melegari Chamber Players! They did a wonderful job; absolutely beautiful music and very professional. Many of our guests commented on how much they loved the music. We were honored to have the Melegari Chamber Players provide the music for both my mother and father's memorial services. The artistic excellence that they so generously shared was outstanding. At the reception, individuals repeatedly commented on the uplifting power and spiritual connection the music provided. On both occasions they patiently worked with us to determine the musical selections, as our parents had very different music backgrounds. I couldn't imagine a wedding ceremony without live music. I was so glad we hired Melegari for my daughter's wedding to play during the ceremony and the cocktail hour afterwards. They are so professional, the playing was beautiful. Without any rehearsal it all worked so seamlessly and added such an important touch to the service. I only wish I wasn't the mother-of-the-bride and had had a little more time to stand back and just listen.

Paloma, Sarah and the entire Melegari Chamber Players were just a pleasure to work with from day one. Music was a very important piece to my groom and I and they went above and beyond to make our dream a reality. The composed and learned 2 new compositions for our ceremony that were really important to us. They worked great with our other musicians (pianist, vocalist) and were very low maintenance in terms of what they needed from us. Sarah, who I spoke most directly too was a wonderful person who authentically cares about making the day what the couple has dreamed of.
Melegari Chamber Players music blew all of our guests away including the bride and groom! We have gotten so many complements about our ceremony and a huge portion of them are about the music, they all did such a beautiful job seething the tone and mood of the day, it was just magical.
I cant say enough wonderful things and would absolutely recommend them to a friend!

They Melegari Chamber Players were the perfect addition to our wedding ceremony of 200 people. They were open to playing the songs we requested as well as playing outside though we ultimately kept everything inside. The sounds was beautiful. The people were very easy to work with. Would definitely use again and recommend to others.

Melegari Chambers Players were awesome. My partner and I hired them to play at our wedding at our house. We hired a cellist and violinist for two hours. Ashley Peck was the one we worked with, and she was excellent. She was very responsive and flexible. I would highly recommend them!

Melegari Chamber Players performed for our August wedding. They were wonderful to work with. They worked closely with me on the music I wanted. Later, they were very flexible when we added a singer and more songs for the ceremony. They were willing to spend the extra rehearsal time these changes required. They were very professional. On the day of our wedding, they arrived early to set up. They stayed after the ceremony for photos. Their music was lovely. My husband and I received many compliments about them. My husband and I highly recommend Melegari Chamber Players.

We were so happy with the quality of music the Melegari string quartet provided for our daughter's wedding reception (2 hours). They really created a magical atmosphere that made our guests want to stay and enjoy the music with us. They were prompt, professional, and friendly to work with. Melegari performed at the Oregon Symphony Honors gala fundraiser on April 16 at the Portland Art Museum. Sarah chose musical selections that were perfect as guests were coming in for dinner. They were so wonderful to work with and they helped make the evening a success!

The Melegari Players were the highlight of the Finlandia Foundation Columbia-Pacific Chapter's (FFCPC) Annual Program celebrating the 150th Anniversary of Jean Sibelius. They masterfully played several pieces by Sibelius, and the 72 people in attendance wished they had time to hear more of their playing. I enjoyed listening to these talented and friendly musicians, and I hope we have the opportunity to invite them again. The Players were also flexible because they had to adjust their performance a little because the program was running just a little behind schedule.

We were very happy with the service provided by the Melegari Chamber players. Both Paloma and Ashley were so helpful with music choices, and always responded quickly to my questions. They were so flexible the day of, as our daughter's wedding was literally in a field, and the place we had planned for them to be was not going to be shaded enough. They quickly found an alternate place to set up, worked efficiently with our wedding planner, and provided absolutely beautiful music. I would absolutely use them again, and would highly recommend them.

The Melegari Chamber Players provided a string quartet for our daughters wedding in September. They played so beautifully during the ceremony, as well as before and after. Additionally, we had requested a piece my daughter was very fond of, which they made a special arrangement of to be played during her procession - it was superb! Paloma and Sarah's playing added a magical element to our Champagne Dinners. The room where the dinners were staged was an old Portland industrial building that had been opened up to yield a space that reminded us of a European monastic church. The music enhanced that feeling. All our guests commented on the beautiful playing and how much it added to the evening. We'll definitely be using the Melegari Chamber Players for future events.

They played at St; Thomas Moore Church for our son's wedding. The string quartet set the tone for a wonderful wedding ceremony with its beautiful rendition of the music we chose. The were perfect.

Phenomenal touch to our daughter's wedding. This group took a song that my daughter wanted to walk down to aisle to, arranged the music just for her (she wanted the cello highlighted), and played for our prelude, wedding- accompanying my niece as she sang the processional song, and then afterward during the cocktail hour. It was exquisite. Best use of our funds for any part of our wedding celebration! I highly recommend them to anyone. They are very professional, dependable and provide music of the highest caliber. Thank you again. Wish we could do it again just to hear you play. At least we have the video.

My wedding was in Astoria, Oregon, so I appreciated that they were able to do a wedding outside of Portland for a reasonable rate. Initial communication was clear and easy. The musicians were nice to work with and were able to play the music we requested. On the day of they were punctual and professionally dressed. I highly recommend using them for your wedding or any other event where you need beautiful live music.

The melegari chamber players were great to work with. They helped reduce the stress of planning the wedding by providing great suggestions for music selections and were very flexible with adding new music to play just what we wanted for our ceremony. We needed a quick turnaround for music for a fundraising event we did. It is clear that Melegari Chamber Players are filled with pros, with little guidance and a fast turnaround the provided wonderful music for our loft event with our major donors. They read the audience well and played music appropriate to the setting.

Melegari Chamber Players made my wedding day absolutely perfect. We found them only 1 month before our big day. We were SO lucky that they had our date available. Leading up to the wedding, we worked with Paloma, who made us feel as though we were in the most capable hands. She helped us with many of the day-of details about which we were unsure, and answered all of our many questions so promptly and thoroughly. On the day of our wedding, Paloma and her team handled EVERYTHING... from our ceremony and the start of our reception. They even learned to play a special song for our candle lighting ceremony. Melegari Chamber Players come highly recommended!!

We engaged a string quartet through Melegari Chamber Players for my daughter's wedding at Vista Hills Vineyard and Winery on July 12, 2013. They played during the pre-ceremony, ceremony and reception. The entire evening was enriched by their outstanding music, impeccable professionalism and engaging personalities. I heard many positive comments from our guests. We worked with Paloma, Sarah, Kirsten and Erin on very short notice; they accommodated our special requests, and helped us select and arrange the musical program. I would highly recommend Melegari for weddings and any other events requiring the best in live classical music!

We hired the Melegari Chamber Players after looking into a number of musicians and groups to play for our wedding reception. A number of those groups and individuals simply did not respond to my attempts to contact or were very sporadic which made it very difficult to get anything planned for the event. When your main focus in life temporarily becomes centered around one day and the stresses involve ensuring that the center pieces are PERFECT, you come to appreciate the people involved who make your life a little easier. Melegari Chamber Players did that for me. I appreciate music, but I had no idea what I wanted for a song list or any particular songs aside from a few Beatles songs and sort of a general idea of the atmosphere we wanted. I was worried this might be a bit too general, but I put my faith in their professional experience and I was not disappointed. Erin was in close contact with me, considered my input and gave me some options about the number of musicians, instruments, and advised me about the capabilities and limitations to all of this. What we ended up with was a duo and a song list that worked brilliantly with our setting. I was very happy with the level of professionalism, the quality of playing, and the value I received. I'd absolutely recommend Melegari Chamber Players for your event. I cannot thank them enough for alleviating one of the stressful elements in planning out wedding, it was such a joy to know that someone who was experienced and confident in providing music was handling that aspect so I could continue to worry about centerpieces and trivial things that were deathly important!

I was all around totally impressed with Melegari. I had a string trio for my morning ceremony and during the brunch - 150 people.

I worked mostly with Sarah but also talked with Kirsten when Sarah was out of town. I was coordinating the music over the holidays so I was expecting delayed response times but I never waited more than 24 hours to hear from someone, even the day before Christmas Eve I got a call back. They were extremely helpful in suggesting music and accommodating my requests. A week before my wedding I requested a song that was not in their "repertoire" online and they busted their little rumps to find the music for me. So special.

The ladies who played were complete professionals and did a fabulous job. If you are interested in a string duo/trio/quartet I would recommend them most vociferously.

The music and muscians were excellent! The music created a loving and elegant mood for the wedding ceremony. The muscians were professional, on time, and pleasant. It was such a joy to have them be a part of the wedding.

Melegari Chamber Players - what a fantastic group of musicians!!! My wedding was earlier this month and I was so lucky to have them be a part of our special day. The music was magnificent, timing was perfect and each one of them had smiles on their faces - evidence to me that they really enjoy what it is they do - making BEAUTIFUL music. Professional and super easy to work with - I didn't worry about a thing! I would highly recommend them!!!

Melegari Chamber Players were great! They played at both my ceremony and reception (which were in different locations) and were a fantastic part of our event. We received so many compliments from our guests about them. Actually some of my guests gave them a standing ovation when they finished their set at the reception. They have an extensive repetoire for weddings and they were very professional and flexible. We requested for one of my friends, a singer, to perform with them and they made it happen! I would not hesitate for a second to work with Melegari.

I absolutely loved the music that they played. The sound went through the entire backyard and was heard by all. I was a little unsure at times why they stopped playing for they received a break during the ceremony so I would work that out ahead of time with them. Defintely would recommend them and 2 hours isnt enough, I would say book 3 hours!!

Paloma played the violin at our wedding and did an amazing job!! She was very easy to work with (we live out of town) in setting everything up and did a beautiful job at the ceremony. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

The Melegari Chamber Players filled in for a friend that developed a conflict and could not play at our wedding. They were very easy to work with and stepped right in with no flaws. We loved their music and were very, very professional. The members of group had delightful personalities.

We hired a string quartet from this organization that played for the ceremony and and cocktail hour . If you are looking for excellent musicians with a repertoire of stunning classical music, this is the one! We gave them ideas of composers and specific works we liked, and worked with them on the ceremony music, and they took care of us beautifully. They are very organized and clear about the set up they need which is very helpful when you are trying to organize your event.
Our wedding was in a garden, and I can tell you that walking into such beautiful music was magical!

I worked with the Melegari Chamber Players for my recent wedding, and they were simply fantastic! They got right back to my emails, and coached me through the best choices for processional and recessional music.

I'm a classically trained musician myself, and was thrilled with the quality and sensitivity of their playing, and many guests remarked on their high caliber.

After dealing with so many flaky wedding vendors, the Melegari Chamber players were a breath of fresh air. They were right on time, responsive, and professionally dressed. I'd highly recommend them to anybody looking to have a classy quartet (or trio) at their event!

The music and professionalism of the performers was excellent! I was sorry I didn't have adequate time to thank them more in person. The only small thing I would have liked in the planning, would have been slightly more specific options of what classical music would be played, and also the possibility that contemporary string music might have been played in addition to the earlier periods. I didn't have specific music in mind, but if the ensemble had a list of contemporary compositions to choose from, or simply as examples, I would have valued the option to choose some of that.

The Melegari Chamber Players played prelude and postlude music to both of our Christmas Services at church. They were very professional and chose tasteful Christmas hymns. They were very easy to work with and provided the atmosphere we were hoping they would. They had several options for string combinations and packages that would accommodate our needs. We would definitely hire them again.

Paloma and Dylan were a pleasure and as far as I could tell played all the notes right! Seriously, I would not hesitate in hiring them, or some other combination of instrumentalists from Melegari, other than for money reasons. I am not suggesting that the fee was unreasonable, just that I have to consider its affordability .They were/are excellent musicians. Also, they seemed to enjoy the festivities and even did pizzicato along with a pop duo. They agreed to add a piece not on the group's standard list; it turned out that adapting it for violin-cello was simple enough to avoid charging extra. And, they were able to transition smoothly from one piece to another when wedding events dictated it.
I would be glad to provide more details to anyone who wants to know more.

They were wonderful and having some background music as people were arriving and getting seated was really nice. They added a lot of intimacy to the ceremony and were AMAZING!

These musicians are absolutely amazing and are worth the high price tag. You could go for students or canned recorded music, but nothing says "class" like live classical music. They are the best in the whole city!!

The players were great and very professional. Coming from a musician-filled family, we were a bit picky about who we used for the ceremony. This group did a great job and were a very pleasant addition to the wedding. My only suggestion is for better communication as we were constantly chasing the assistant down for responses, info etc.
