We couldn't be happier with our experience! From our engagement photos to our wedding day, working with Matt was an absolute pleasure. He was friendly, professional, and incredibly easy to work with every step of the way.
Neither of us is particularly comfortable in front of a camera, but he made the entire process feel natural and stress-free. He gave great direction, helped us feel relaxed, and somehow made every photo session feel fun instead of awkward. On our wedding day, he kept everything running smoothly and made it easy for us to focus on enjoying the moment.
Most importantly, the photos are absolutely incredible. He captured so many genuine emotions and special moments, and the final images exceeded all of our expectations. His talent and attention to detail truly shine through in every photo.

Phenomenal photographer!
Matt Montalvo is a true gem of a photographer. He is talented, down to earth, and takes the time to get to know you so he can capture your love story in your own personalized style. I had a detailed list of photos I wanted taken and he definitely took those and they were AMAZING.....but if I'm being honest, my favorites are the ones he just captured in the moment that are so incredibly real that you can't deny the love that was present that day. He is reasonably priced and delivers EXCEPTIONAL work in a short period of time---we had our sneak peeks by the end of the week! The quality of his photography is priceless and we will always be eternally grateful for the pictures he captured of our wedding day. I can't recommend this guy enough....book him, I promise you won't be disappointed!

Best Austin wedding photos for the best deal!
Matt was absolutely tremendous from start to finish. From our first call --- which he took while pulled over on the road between two other weddings because that's how dedicated he is --- he showed his passion for his craft, his commitment to excellence, and his genuine concern for making sure that we as a couple got the wedding photos of our dreams. On the wedding day, Matt was there early on the wedding day and made sure that every moment of the day was covered, and was happy to quickly pivot to cover shots that weren't on the original plan. He managed to both be present and also disappear into the day, so that despite knowing we were being photographed, both myself and my husband were fully able to lock in on the wedding. The photos themselves were utterly stunning, some of them truly took our breath away, and since we got them back, we can't stop going through them over and over, finding new dynamic details every time, and loving the way he edited them. He gave us more than 1,000 photos within a week and a half of the wedding --- with around 220 premium edits with black and white options --- and they are photos we will always treasure. On top of everything, Matt is a fantastic person, so upbeat and friendly, and a joy to be around! Matt was very easy to work with and very efficient! The day of our wedding Matt was on time and made sure the whole wedding party, family and friends were on schedule with the sequence of the photos. Matt took in-the-moment photos and knew the right angle to take them from. The quality and professionalism is superb! Matt was amazing. He was friendly, professional, and took amazing photos. He got our photos to us less than a week after our wedding, which was a pleasant and welcome surprise. He checked in with us several times before the wedding to ensure he understood our vision and the shots we knew we wanted.
He knew that we wanted to attend our cocktail hour, so he worked really efficiently to maximize our time with out guests and we really appreciated that.

Magician Matt!
Matt is a storyteller with his gadgets. From the time we had our zoom meeting with him, we got really comfortable with him. He knows what he is doing and he does it with a smile.
We were lucky to have him photograph our wedding. He had a game plan and we did first look and many of our pictures with wedding party before the ceremony. That gave us good amount of time to enjoy with our guests without worrying about missing any picture with closed ones.
Within 10 days we got all our pictures and we can just always relive that day through his captures. He was quick on his feet, moved around relentlessly and captured all the precious moments. He got our best angles and most of the pictures were candid which we loved! After looking at the pictures, we caught up on many moments which we missed as there are so many things going on during your wedding day.
If you are trying to decide your event photographer - just hop on a call with him and I'm sure you will feel at ease. And working with someone with a smile on his face will make your day better too.

Matt was simply amazing!! He did our engagement pictures, my bridal pictures and our wedding pictures and I cannot say enough nice things about him! He is very professional, has a great eye and is very kind. He was able to accommodate anything we asked and did it without hesitation! His might be the fastest photographer that I have even seen with pictures edits as well. We got our entire wedding portfolio back 5 days after our wedding, which included over 350 edited pictures! My husband and I are an interracial couple so lighting and balance was a big deal for us, Matt was able to balance both of our complexions easy and our photos turned out better than we could expect! Thank you Matt for being amazing and making the memories of our day amazing for us!

I originally met Matt when I was in another wedding years ago. He is fantastic. Words my friends and family used: personable, efficient, kind, approachable. The BEST of the Best
Matt is the BEST! He has an innate ability of artistry and creativity that you won't find in others. I spoke to several photographers, as our wedding was in another city so I did my research extensively. I knew Matt was the one immediately after our initial call! And boy did he deliver outstanding pictures and within a week! Our rehearsal dinner and wedding pictures turned out stunning and captured all the moments we wanted and more. It's important to note that as the bride, you don't get to see everything along the way, like the cocktail hour or the details in the room being flipped, or everybody seated at every table. Matt got it ALL!! I went from crying with joy, to literally laughing out loud, to saying "awwww" to myself as I looked through our albums and got to see the things I didn't see in person. He captured the true essence of my family and friends and want above and beyond to make sure we got the perfect pictures at the golden hour. He truly loves what he does, and it shows in his work overall. From answering emails promptly to giving the most precise instructions for each portrait, to editing your pictures according to your desires, he is a true professional who won't let you down at any point in the process. On top of all that, he has a great, energetic personality and is so fun to have by your side on your wedding day! Matt will listen to you and work with all of your concerns. Even if I make a face in disgust or start to get frustrated with the heat, Matt will still be upbeat and cheer you on and get you through it! I write content for a living and I feel like I still haven't written the proper words to give credit where it's due and reiterate how beautiful our pictures are, and I will be forever grateful to Matt. If we lived in the Austin area, we'd constantly reach out to Matt for any other family portraits or party picture needs. Thanks Matt!!

My wedding day 4/16/22
Matt was so amazing! I was completely overwhelmed with the amount of good photographers out there to choose from and was originally drawn to Matt because he was so highly reviewed/experienced and yet still affordable. He never felt pushy and from our first phone call I felt comfortable in hiring him. On my wedding day he showed up early and was ready to go right away! He was the calming presence that I needed as a nervous bride. He worked quickly to get all the shots in the busy schedule that I had and the photos turned out so perfect! I swear I stare at them multiple times each day and can’t wait to get them printed for my home. My friends and family loved them as well! I was also seriously impressed by how fast he was in delivering them. I was still on my honeymoon when I got my gallery! All in all, 10/10 and would absolutely work with Matt again someday. Incredible photos, dream to work with, and leaves you time to party!
Matt has an insane amount of experience as a photographer, and it shows in our photos! He’s familiar with many Austin venues (if not all of them) and knows exactly when, where, and how to shoot to get the most beautiful photos!! He effortlessly instructed us to get into the right pose, and honestly, I don’t even know how he got some of our photos because it was that easy! Matt was also amazing at getting candid shots (and had really helpful tips for us about how to get the best candid shots) and was able to capture truly amazing moments. He doesn’t limit the number of photos he takes, and he takes pictures of everything he sees on top of the posed photos he already knows look good – going through the photogallery honestly felt like reliving our wedding day in all its best moments! Matt worked tirelessly on our wedding day, and if anyone (including guests) wanted him to take a picture, he would get it and keep going, even if he was taking a break! It’s clear Matt is passionate about photography and capturing all the moments of our special day. Lastly, Matt is insanely fast and efficient. Our ceremony photos are from every angle, and it feels like we had at least two photographers that day! It also meant we were actually able to spend a surprising amount of time on our wedding day talking to your guests, eating, drinking, and partying. I will hire him again for any occasion I might have in the future. He has a talent for capturing the important photos between friends, family, and candid moments. Matt spent the time to make sure I had fantastic pictures with the correct lighting, angles, and setting available. Even all of my friends and family have been complimenting on how attentive he was. Matt is absolutely amazing! Out of all my wedding vendors he was the most responsive and provided a wonderful quality of service. Matt is incredible. The pictures were high quality and he really takes the time to understand what you’re going for and does his best to achieve that. He is so fast with edits too! The best wedding decision you could make
Matt did an amazing job! Even though the weather was gray and overcast, and it started to rain just as the outdoor ceremony began, all the photos were gorgeous as if it were a beautiful, sunny day. This was a pandemic wedding with just 10 family members present, but Matt captured every important moment. The bride and groom’s personalities and love shine through in every photo, and he made everyone look their best. I thought some of the photos were posed, as the angles and composition are so perfect, but my daughter (the bride) assured me that those were candid shots Matt captured during the actual ceremony. Down the road, you won’t remember what the minister said nor how the food tasted, but you’ll always have your photos, so do yourself a favor and choose Matt Montalvo.

One of a kind!!!
Matt is truly one of a kind! We got married in the midst of Covid on 6.20.20, through all the craziness Matt was always right there flexible to do whatever needed to be done! Our ceremony was at St Marys Cathedral in Austin followed by a reception at the W downtown so it was extremely important to me that our photographer not only be able to take amazing outdoor photos but more specifically indoor photos! After looking through his photos online I was sold.
Prior to our wedding we also did our engagement photos and my bridal photos with him and every photo he took was stunning and unique! Matt’s personality is so fun, he really makes you feel comfortable and has all the best tips to give you to get the perfect shot! We constantly had guests coming up to us with positive things to say about Matt and his photography skills! After each of our photography sessions he was able to get us our photos just days later!! He is honestly one of the best and I would recommend him 1,000%!! Our home is basically going to be a gallery of Matt’s photos and I can’t wait to continue sharing them for years to come!

We originally booked Matt for our wedding with 200 guests, but with Covid-19 we had to rearrange our plans. Matt made rescheduling such an easy process, and made himself available for our small family ceremony. We are completely blown away with the moments and joy that he captured during our small, intimate ceremony. Incredible photographer!
Matt was so great to work with from Day 1. He shot our engagement photos and gave good suggestions for location. He was really patient and helpful in including my stepdaughter in those photos, and those from the wedding as well. When we had to postpone our March 21, 2020 wedding one week before due to COVID, Matt was super flexible and easy to work with to reschedule, and even came to Houston to shoot our mini-mony to including in our final album. Matt is your guy, no need to look further
You can stop looking for your wedding photographer, and book Matt asap! My wife and I married November 2019. Having Matt shoot our wedding photos was easily one of the wedding highlights. He was nothing but professional from the engagement photo session through to delivering our wedding pictures. I never love taking photos but Matt has a great personality and made the picture process as painless as possible. I had many compliments from wedding guests regarding their interactions with Matt, he got the best shots out of everyone.
The quality of the photos was amazing. He was sure to pull my wife and I aside a few times to get some great photos during the reception. He tried some new lighting techniques he had an eye for and I really liked how those shots came out.
The whole process was great from start to finish, and can't recommend him more. We will have these photos for lifetime.

An amazing wedding captured by an amazing photographer!
From the start Matt has been easy and a pleasure to work with. He is very responsive to emails, and with me planning this from overseas this was highly important. He had some great ideas and was super excited to hear some of ours in the planning stages. Day of he showed up and was great in helping to direct specific photos and poses for those photos, as well as ninjaing around and taking photos that we didn't even know he was there until we saw them on his site! Where do I start? From my first meeting with Matt, he was awesome and so unbelievably easy to work with. I'm not one for being photogenic and he absolutely killed it on our wedding photos. He is creative, patient, professional and knows what he's doing. Although my husband and I are rather laid back, photos just aren't our thing and Matt made us feel so comfortable and coached us all the way through the end of the night. Stunning Pictures !!!
The first thing that impressed me about Matt was his responsiveness. I had just sent him the first email asking about his availability and he called me within minutes, saying that he was available and took details about the wedding. He was very organized throughout the planning process, which proved his experience in the business. We had an elopement wedding at Chapel Dulcinea. Matt arrived before time and what struck me was how organized he was the whole time. He discussed different poses with me and the bridal party ,and also what pictures would be best as we were getting ready. During the actual wedding, he was completely non-intrusive and took a lot of great candid shots. During the couple portraits, he had a lot of great ideas but he was open to our ideas too. We had limited time at Chapel Dulcinea, but he made good use of that time and took great group photos as well as candids. About two weeks later, he sent us the complete set of pictures and they were simply stunning. Very professional and talented. I am glad we hired Matt for our big day !

Absolutely Perfect!
My husband and I had Matt as our photographer for our May 2019 wedding and we could not have asked for anyone better. He was very easy-going, confident in his skill, and very great at knowing just what to say when posing. My husband and I are not photographically inclined individuals... think awkward elbows and smiles...but Matt knew just what to say to make us feel comfortable and thoroughly enjoy taking pictures.
I received so many compliments from guests and our wedding party regarding how easy it was to talk to Matt, how comfortable he made them feel and overall how QUICK he was. Based off of previous weddings, I was worried photos were going to take a good chunk of time away from our reception, but Matt was very quick and proficient at snapping different shots, mixing up the poses, and overall letting us enjoy our night while still getting beautiful photos.
I can not recommend Matt enough. Because of him, I now have a whole gallery of photos that will forever capture J and I's special day.

Best decision of my wedding
I chose Matt for my March 2019 wedding because of his great reviews & quick response time . He is AMAZING and 100% best vendor of my wedding. He is always on time, professional and great at knowing how to direct you in pictures. He risked his life in the mosh pit of our dance floor to get the most incredible pictures. The day of he is everywhere and able to capture every single moment. We mostly liked the direction he gave to us and atendees of our wedding that resulted in the best pictures I could have asked for. Choose him. You wont regret it.

Our experience with Matt was wonderful, from start to finish. He captured our love in a way that we'll adore forever. Matt was awesome at providing tips and tricks and making sure we looked great in every picture. All of our guests loved him too. While there are a million and one decisions to make when it comes to a wedding, picking Matt was the easiest!

Incredible! Matt is super talented and captured our wedding's special moments
Matt is incredible! He was friendly, professional, responsive, and good with our family and friends.
Matt is amazingly talented. Even though it was a rainy day, he found some picturesque spots for our first look and couple portraits. Taking wedding party pictures was actually a blast -- we all couldn't stop laughing! He has a great eye and captured some really special moments throughout the night.
We did a prep call with Matt beforehand, which was super helpful to know what to expect and timeline of family pictures. And we got the pictures back in record time! It was really fun to go through all the pictures so soon after the wedding - and in time to get some prints before the holidays :)
I'd highly recommend Matt!

Best wedding photographer
Matt was the best! On our wedding day he took charge and told everyone how to stand, where to put their hands, which way to look, etc. He was so quick with all of the pictures after the ceremony that we actually were ahead of schedule. Also, our wedding pictures were up on his website a week after we got married! We can't thank Matt enough for all of our beautiful pictures. Definitely would recommend him to anyone!

Matt is absolutely amazing at what he does. Matt photographed our wedding at Emmaus and Lakeway Resort and spa. We have so many amazing pictures to choose from, it’s hard to pick out our favorites from all the pictures since all of them turned out so wonderful. Matt has an eye for creativity and he is so easy and fun to work with. He even gave us tips and pointers so be capture great photos.! We live in California but got married in Texas so we relied heavily on email communication, and Matt was amazing at getting back with us quickly and working with our schedule as we were not local. Wedding day he was so professional and nice. We had rain a hour before the ceremony and he just kept on shooting like there wasn't a hiccup at all. He even took us out in the rain for some really cool pictures he did not want us to miss out on. I was blown away once we got to see our pictures, he caught so many awesome moments!! He was also really great at giving us some advice and posing us quickly and effortlessly. I HIGHLY recommend Matt and will recommend him to all family and friends who are looking for a photographer!!

Matt was such a pleasure to work with! He was a preferred vendor of our venue and we could not have asked for a better photographer! My husband initially chose him because of the great quality of his portfolio. He was one of our most responsive vendors and he was so well prepared for our wedding day. He was also exceedingly efficient getting the perfect family shots after our ceremony so everyone could quickly return to the reception for food and fun! My husband and I are not very naturally photogenic, but Matt's easy going nature and sense of humor made us feel so at ease and our photos really show it. They are all amazing!! I would highly recommend Matt to other couples looking for a wedding photographer. His prices are incredibly reasonable and his turn around time on proofs was speedy (about 7-10 days)! My husband and I are so grateful to have these pictures as they really show how fantastic our wedding day was!

Matt was an integral part of our wedding experience! At our first meeting, we knew he'd be a great match for us since he is both very professional, talented, as well as had a great sense of humor. He was available to answer questions during the planning process and I felt very heard when making several requests. We had no doubt that we'd love the pictures, but we were in awe once we got the pictures back (and in just a week!!). We didn't even notice him during the ceremony and he captured gorgeous, candid shots throughout the night. Speaking of-- night ceremony photos came out flawless!

Our experience with Matt was absolutely wonderful and we love every single one of our photos. As the bride, I didn't have to give Matt any direction or worry he was missing special moments. Matt easily did the work of two or three photographers. He was able to capture every single beautiful moment on our wedding day and made great suggestions for different photos. We had a November, candlelit wedding and Matt was able to capture the ambiance and finer details without making it look like it was the middle of the day. Matt was one of the best investments we made for our wedding. I would recommend him over and over.

I initially met Matt when I was a bridesmaid in a wedding that he was shooting, I knew then I wanted to hire him when I got married. Fast forward 5 years when I got engaged, he was the first vendor I called after booking a venue; when he said he was available, I hired him right away! The best way to describe Matt is a photography ninja, he has so much energy and somehow manages to get every shot you want, with everyone smiling and their eyes open, all by himself. He is worth every penny of your investment. In addition to all of that, you get your photos back FAST after your wedding, which is so huge this day in age of social media. I HIGHLY recommend Matt!

Matt Montalvo is seriously the BEST!! Everything is so easy and smooth when it comes to him. We had our engagement photos during the coldest day of the year (cold for Texas!) and he made us feel so comfortable and our photos turned out great even though I am sure my eyes were watering from the cold wind and my skin was probably purple from hypothermia. Matt gave us tips and tricks and guided us through the photo shoot to help us stay warm, and feel comfortable and got great shots of us! He is also really good at getting our dog's attention for photos. Oh and turnaround time? We had our teaser photos from our wedding day within 3 days and all of the photos within a WEEK and we just got our USB today, two weeks after our wedding! Our guests are still gushing over our wedding and we can still relive our day by looking through our photos so soon after our wedding! I feel like some people don't get their wedding photos until weeks or even months after and we are so lucky to have them back so soon!
As for photo editing and quality, Matt is amazing!! He captured breathtaking views of the sunset which is exactly what I wanted for wedding photos. And I love that he captured so many expressions of our guests throughout the night. It feels like I'm watching a video as I am flipping through the photos. Everyone was having so much fun, and it's awesome that Matt was able to capture all of these moments.
We are truly very blessed to have Matt as our engagement and wedding photographer. I kept coming across his photos on The Knot, Wedding Wire, and Pinterest, and I was so sure that I had to book him!
My best advice to couples looking for a wedding photographer, if Matt is available on your wedding day, book him immediately!

Matt was our wedding photographer for our September 30th wedding at The Terrace Club in Dripping Springs. After reading all of the wonderful reviews for Matt and stalking his photos on instagram, I knew we needed him to be our wedding photographer! I never actually told my fiance what it would cost to have Matt shoot our wedding but I knew it didn't matter because I knew it would be worth it. He still doesn't know but what he does know is that it was the absolute best decision. He was so friendly but also very professional. He was very patient when I could not seem to follow basic instructions regarding poses and what not. He managed to take AMAZING pictures despite how awkward I am and sometimes felt while taking the pictures. I'm very camera shy and don't like to be the center of attention so taking that many pictures was out of my comfort zone entirely. He never made me feel like I was being ridiculous or looked uncomfortable. He allowed me to just be myself and he worked his magic with the camera! We trusted him fully and he knew exactly what he was doing. He captured all the best moments. We decided not to have a videographer and we don't regret it at all because we feel like he didn't miss a thing. The pictures tell the complete story and capture all of the beauty, craziness, joy, and hilarity that happened throughout the day. We are overjoyed with how our pictures turned out. We HIGHLY recommend him and if you want to go the route of only having a photographer, not a videographer, Matt is no doubt, the best option out there. You will not regret it! Trust me!

We had a wonderful experience with Matt Montalvo Photography. We felt comfortable throughout the entire process. He was highly responsive from planning to execution and final delivery. He captured every shot we wanted yet his presence was barely noticeable. We continue to hear compliments from our guests about Matt, both regarding the photos and his presence at the event. The turnaround time for images was incredibly fast and the photos were impressive--well composed with subtle creative touches and a surprising large number of images. We cannot say enough good things about our experience with Matt! He photographed our wedding on June 10th, 2017 and did such a spectacular job! From posed pictures to action shots, he is so experienced and prepared to get all of the important shots done at the right times. I have never even heard of a photographer getting pictures back so quickly. We had edited photos ready for us to review before we got back from our honeymoon!! (Seriously!) Not to mention the quality is second to none! I could not be happier with the way they turned out!

He kept us focused and sped through the outside shots so that we were not melting in the heat and had some really great ideas for indoor shots for the family photos to allow my grandparents to stay in the air conditioning. The pictures are fabulous! I really cannot believe how good they came out. He had some teasers up within a few days of the wedding and we had all the pics exactly a week after our wedding. I know no one else we spoke with was going to get pictures to us that quickly. I highly recommend Matt he was so much fun to work with and the pictures he takes speak for themselves!

I highly recommend Matt Montalvo he has such a great eye and Amazing at editing photos. When I first met with him you can see the passion and the love he has for his work and for being a photographer. We went with the second package because it added a mini session and I'm so glad we did because I really got to see how we would work together and how our pictures will come out! He will be my photographer For my wedding which is in June 2018 and I'm so blessed to.have found him. He is a very nice, patient, he gives good advice. You won't regrat hiring Montalvo his work is amazing! We feel Matt Montalvo is worth every penny.

I can't say enough good things about Matt. Obviously, your big day is going to speed by with a blink of an eye, and at the end of the day what you are left with are your photos. I have gone back through and looked at all our photos numerous times since our wedding in May, and know I will do so for years to come to be able to reminisce and remember all that happened. Matt is kind, professional, and gets every detail. He's very thorough and will go with the flow. He's an expert at posing you, and also gets all those great candid shots. Matt took over 1100 photos at our wedding, and per his standard contract, you get every single one. Really, you can't pick a better photographer. His talent is unmatched. So glad Matt was a part of our day. :)

Our immediately impression of Matt when we first interviewed him-he is personable, fun, professional, easy going, directive yet willing to take your ideas and preferences into account, and most importantly-his photo editing schools are gorgeous!! Our engagement pictures were absolutely beautiful! But my fiance and I realized we aren't big at looking at pictures of ourselves and framing them-so for my wedding I wanted more creative artistic shots. (ie. just our bodies but not faces in the backdrop, more scenery, etc). Matt was totally willing to do that and the results were beautiful! On the wedding day he was punctual, patient when were running behind, always reachable, captured everything. I honestly don't know how he does it by himself but he got so many kodak moments my guests are swarming over all his pictures now. He truly captured my wedding in ways I could not have even imagine. I highly highly recommend Matt and hope one day he'd be willing to shoot us again :D
