Martine's Gave Us An Amazing Experience...and Cake!
The team at Martine's couldn't have been nicer and accommodating! We were out-of-towners planning our wedding in Lexington and Martine's made us feel like we weren't locals, but like friends. The tasting cakes were so good that it was difficult to narrow them down to two selections but we did - pistachio and strawberry champagne. On the day of the wedding, there was confusion on whether to have flowers on the cake or not. When I was chatting with someone expressing my disappointment that I didn't see the flowers, I heard someone from behind with a wonderful French accent ask me "Do you want the flowers?"...and it was Martine herself. I'll never forget her response to me when I thanked her for coming..."I wouldn't have missed this for anything". Knowing she was there on our day and would take care of the cake made an incredible difference for us! A thousand "thank you"'s to Martine and her bakery team! -

Simply Amazing
Martine's was an amazing experience for Madeline and I. We visited Martine's about a year before we got married for a tasting and planning session in which they helped us design the cakes and we got to try some of their delicious creations! Their cakes are both beautiful and delicious, if you do use them, you must try the pistachio cake. We had both a grooms cake and a wedding cake. They worked very well with our other vendors to make sure that the wedding day flowed seamlessly and everything was where it should be when it needed to be there. We couldn't recommend them highly enough! -

Martine's Cakes are the BEST!
Not only are Martine's wedding cakes delicious, they are absolutely stunning! They were so helpful and accommodating for my daughter's recent wedding! The bride and groom enjoyed a cake tasting and were assisted in designing the wedding cake of their dreams! We couldn't have been happier with the result on the big day! The groom's baseball cake was totally awesome, too! Thanks to Chelsea and Martine Holzman for making the wedding day a success! -

Highly recommend
We used Martines for a dessert assortment for our wedding reception. We had champagne strawberry cake, mini tiramisu, fruit tarts, chocolate chip cookies, and much more. It was all wonderful. Martines was very helpful and accommodating. We were impressed with our tasting experience as well. Highly recommend! -

We got a 2 tier pistachio wedding cake with buttercream icing. Several guests commented that it was the best cake they had ever eaten. I would highly recommend Martines to anyone. The bakery met with us for a tasting and were extremely patient and responsive to what we wanted. -

We had our wedding in Lexington and live in Cincinnati, so we picked three vendors to visit and met with Martine, first. Needless to say, we signed with her and never made it to the other vendors. She worked with us to help us find the right vision for our cake and budget we were looking to stay in. She is creative and clearly enjoys helping others to make their days special, whether it is a wedding cake, birthday cake... The cake was beautiful and delicious the day of the wedding and we got rave reviews. Thanks, Martine!!!! -

Martine and her team were extremely easy to work with. I showed her an inspiration picture during our initial consultation and she was able to create a cake just as beautiful for our wedding. Her cake is not the cheapest in town but the quality and taste is worth it! I've never had cake so delicious before (I'm not usually a cake girl) and everyone at our wedding loved it! I highly recommend using Martine's for any cake needs! -

Where do I even begin? Martine's Pastries is both professional and extremely satisfying for your taste buds; with that being said, Martine and her staff were a pleasure to work with and turned my dream wedding cake into a reality. I was pleased with the communication and their delivery, it was reassuring that no one had to worry about picking up the cake or setting up the cake, they did it for you. Not to mention, their cake, oh my goodness, it is to die for and their buttercream, myself and our guests were left speechless. You truly can not go wrong with Martine's, a big thank you to you and your staff, you were a pleasure to work with.

Martine and the entire staff at Martine's Pasteries are absolutely wonderful. I saw a cake she had done in the past and it was love at first sight. Then upon meeting Martine, I came to find she was as lovely as her creations. I fell in love with her talent, presence, professionalism, charm, story, dialect, and attentiveness to my needs and vision. My husband and I did not even meet with another baker, as her cakes were heavenly delicious and gorgeous. We truly had never tasted anything like her cakes and it made me feel as if I was Belle in the magical French castle tasting all of these unparalleled desserts one only dreams of. From lemon to pistachio cake to the tiramisu it was all amazing. She executed my vision to perfection both visually and in taste! Everyone, including us, still rave about our cake and it means so much to us!! Thank you, Martine and keep up the fabulous work !!! -

Martines Bakery was our first and only stop as we began the search for a bakery! After meeting with Martine, talking with her, sharing our ideas, and sampling different flavors---we knew before we left the meeting that she was the one. First, the samples were delicious! Secondly, she 'listened' and carefully sketched on a piece of paper the cake design we had envisioned! Our guests are still raving about the carrot cake and lemon cake flavors we chose! Martines reviews speak for itself, and I'm happy to add to the other great reviews as a satisfied customer. Go to Martines, you won't be sorry! -

Martine provided the Wedding cake as well as making the very original and whimsical grooms cake.
The Wedding cake was absolutely beautiful. She incorporated as well as surpassed all the design elements my daughter wanted and it was only outdone by the flavors, just delicious!! The grooms cake was so original and also surpassed everything my new son-in-law wanted. We received so many favorable comments on both cakes.

Martine's made my 3 tiered, buttercream frosted cake as well as a strawberry cheesecake grooms cake. There is nothing negative to say about working with Martine's! She is amazingly helpful, friendly and her cakes speak for themselves both in beauty and taste. We are still eating leftovers from 3 weeks ago anld they are still delicious, moist and flavorful! She was able to do exactly the design we wanted without sacrificing taste! Not only was the cake amazing she did some impromptu decorating with leftover cake flowers at the venue and made it look amazing! She always goes the extra mile for her clients! If you search on pinterest and find a cake you love, chances are she has made it or one exactly like it! No matter who you talk to on the phone they are always polite and helpful! While you are at the bakery taste testing try some of her other baked goods, the cheesecake is especially amazing. -

Martine's cakes are gorgeous works of art that are also insanely delicious! Martine created the cakes for our rehearsal dinner as well as the wedding cake. The rehearsal cakes were smaller 9-inch party cakes, and the pink champagne was a serious hit! For the wedding cake, we had a four-tier cake, each a different flavor. We had bought extra cake to meet the design requirements, and the guests were so excited to sample a second flavor. Two top hits were the carrot cake and pistachio. I've had several guests contact me since the wedding for Martine's information so they can have her create something for them too! I highly recommend her to anyone! -

I had a very specific look that I was going for with my wedding cake and Martine and her staff were happy to oblige. We actually purchased our own fondant mold for the look that I wanted on the cake and they were more than happy to play around with the mold to see if it was something they could do. The end result was breathtaking! And the cake was absolutely delicious! -

Martine's is truly the best wedding cake vendor in Kentucky. Martine and her team deserve every praise sung about them. They might be slightly more expensive, but when it comes to wedding cakes, they are worth every penny. I brought Martine a picture of the cake I wanted, and she not only nailed the design but it also tasted fabulous. I was told multiple times by guests that it was the best cake they'd ever tasted. I'm so glad we went with Martine's as our wedding cake was even better than I could envision. -

Martine's makes the best cakes around! We got so many compliments on the cake. We even got cupcakes from her for the rehearsal dinner - they're just that good! We ended up doing the pick up of the cake ourselves - but her staff was so helpful and Martine herself even helped do a last minute repair on the cake toppers with some well placed fondant. You can't go wrong with any flavor there but we went with the Pistachio, Carrot, and Chocolate cake. Can't recommend Martine's enough! -

Martine was able to take my vision and make my cake look amazing. She was so sweet and patient with all my indecisiveness. I have nothing but positive things to say about Martine and her fabulous bakery! First of all, her cakes are DELICIOUS. There were people at my wedding who don't normally like cake and they went back for a second piece! When we went in to do a cake tasting, she sat down with us and went over everything. She sketched out what I had in mind and it was perfect. She made suggestions that I would have never thought about! Her prices are reasonable and she is worth every penny!!! -

I honestly don't even know where to start with Martine's. She took our idea of creating a dessert buffet showcasing pastries that represented how my husband and I met and brought it to life. I wanted a traditional french wedding cake with is basically a tower of cream puffs and she made it no questions asked and even though I got cream puff squished up my nose courtesy of my husband it was the most delicious cream puff I have ever had in my life. And just to clue you in on how delectable her desserts are my husband and I stepped away from the dessert buffet for maybe a maximum of 10 minutes to take sunset pictures and when we came back the buffet looked like a hurricane has passed through and had sucked up all the delicious pastries. Needless to say our guests were more than pleased with the desserts. I can honestly say there was nothing left except maybe a stray cream puff here and there. You will never be disappointed with Martine's. -

This was the second time we used this bakery. My older daughter had a Martines cake for her wedding 3 years ago and the quality and cake are still outstanding. Had several different favors but the pistachio flavor was the best by far. -

Martine's pastries made a beautiful wedding cake for us, and an equally wonderful groom's cake. We could not have been happier! As a baker myself, I'm a tough critic, and her cake was moist and the icing was delicious. Her pistachio flavored cake with white chocolate mousse filling was our favorite, with the Kentucky bourbon cake flavor coming in a close second. Her pricing was extremely reasonable and she was very easy to work with. She created the perfect designs for our cakes from our phone conversations (we planned a destination wedding in Kentucky) and we were extremely pleased with the outcome. We definitely recommend her cakes for any event! -

Martine prepared a beautiful Wedding Cake for my daughter's wedding!
Her meeting with us was very pleasant with pleasant, with Martine herself, a wonderful smiling French-born and raised woman with Southern charm asking questions to know of my daughter's dreams and wishes. She had previously met with Katie and her fiance.
Cake was beautiful amazingly delicious, with fabulous buttercream frosting. One layer was chocolate, one was pistachio. We had many compliments on the cake at the reception, often being told, "It's the best cake I have ever had!"
Martine and all of her staff are professional yet very friendly. A lovely shop to work with to provide fabulous cake! -

Martine provided an amazing wedding cake for our reception! We wanted something simple as we were doing cupcakes for dessert- we just wanted a small cake to cut. She was able to take my ideas and create the perfect cake for our needs, and was flexible when the flowers for the cake didn't make it to the reception site! I would highly recommend her services. -

The best cake I have ever eaten and probably the most beautiful as well! It looked like something out of a magazine and we just loved it. Between our tasting and our wedding day we went back for slices of cakes/ cupcakes 3 or 4 times because it tasted so good! Martine is also a pleasure - definitely recommend her for all things cakes! -

If you want a cake that tastes as good as it looks, Martine's is it! I wanted *real* buttercream icing--not the Crisco kind--and Martine's is absolutely sublime. No matter which cake flavor you choose, you can't go wrong. As a matter of fact, I had a very difficult time choosing between them because all of the ones we were served during our tasting were fabulous. I ended up going with two flavors--one for the wedding cake and another for the groom's cake--that I had never tasted but I wasn't worried because I knew they would be phenomenal. And of course, they were! I chose a fairly simple design but Martine managed to arrange the fresh flowers on the cake so elegantly that it really stood out and everyone kept talking about how pretty and unique it was. I really couldn't be more pleased and I recommend this bakery to anyone who asks. Her prices are a bit on the higher side but you really and truly get what you pay for--if you go with Martine's you will not be disappointed! -

I have been a long time fan of Martine's beautiful, delicious cakes. I have tasted her confections at several bridal shows and private parties over the past few years, and I can honestly say that hers are THE best in town. Her award-winning pistachio flavor was an absolute HIT at my reception! My husband's favorite was the white chocolate raspberry, a flavor she also made him for his birthday a few years ago. When it came time to choose a baker for our wedding cake, hers was the only name on the list. Her work is extremely consistent, beautiful, affordably priced and ridiculously delicious. -

Our cakes turned out not only amazingly beautifully, but soooo delicious. Martine took a picture of a cake we liked and turned it into an even better reality. She also took just a few shots of some groomscakes I liked and made the most creative cake out of it, Ryan looooved it, thank you Martine! We can't wait for next year to eat some anniversary cake, yum!! We would highly recommend Martine's pastries for anyone having a need for a cake or delicious dessert.....

We were completely blown away with our wedding cake! We had planned and designed our cake with Martine months in advance and completely changed practically everything less than a month before our wedding. Originally, we had planned on having a simple, white 4 layer cake with large, white anemone sugar paste flowers cascading down the side. Last minute, we decided to not have anemones anywhere in our wedding, hence changing our wedding cake. The colors were different, and the design was much more intricate. After speaking with Martine over the phone, I simply sent her a photo of the new design and trusted she would take care of it. Not only did she meet our expectations, she FAR exceeded them. The cake looked exquisite and tasted even better. Our cake was 4 layers with 3 different flavors: chocolate cake with chocolate mousse, yellow cake with raspberry filling, and chocolate cake with peanut butter filling all with buttercream icing. She was willing to do fondant or butter cream, but we wanted butter cream even though the design was going to be much more difficult. She did an absolutely amazing job! Everyone was extremely impressed. Martine was very organized, knowlegeable, prompt, and kind. I would highly suggest anyone to work with her for any of their events. If she could exceed our expectations with our cake, then she is sure to exceed yours. -

Love Martine's! Martine perfectly captured our vision of a very classic three layer round cake with smooth butter cream icing, navy ribbon, and a ribbon rosette of our wedding monogram. They also did a great groom's cake on very little notice - three elegant leather bound books. Most importantly, all of the cake was delicious! Our guests loved it, and I have a sneaking suspicion my husband and I will have our 1 year anniversary cake for our 6 month anniversary, and just get an anniversary tier for our 1 year! -

Martine's Pastries provided me with wonderful service. Martine was very kind and understanding when it came to all my questions. She allowed my husband and I to taste many cake/icing samples until we decided on the perfect combination for our cake. I emailed her a few times regarding my cake and she was always quick to respond. The cake was delicious! Even the waiters slicing our cake for the guests were amazed at how moist the cake was. We received dozens of compliments on taste - it was perfect. -

Martine is a true artist she can do anything with a little sugar flour and eggs. She incorporated the ideas that my fiance and I had and made them one beautiful eddible masterpiece. We took the color from the brides maids dresses (which she matched perfectly), and the designs from my dress and my engagement ring, used flowers from the bridesmaids bouquets to top. The end result with her own idea our new monogram as husband and wife in silver on the tail of the bow that cascaded from the top of the cake. It was perfect. You cannot go wrong with Martine. I almost forgot the cake tasted as good as it looked if not better!!! -

Our cake was gorgeous! We are still recieving comments not only about the appearance but the taste of the cake as well! Martine is a lovely lady who creates delicious works of art. She was very professional from our first meeting to the cutting of the cake at the reception. My husband and I picked out every single detail of the cake. Each tier had a different design chosen by us. She also incorporated our monogram which was the theme of our reception. She truly has the ability to create cakes that are out of this world. -

Delicious cake that was a hit with our guests!
Martine's has some of the best cake flavors I have tried to date! We chose two traditional flavors and two others and our guests loved them all! The decoration was elegant and coordinated with all the decor of the wedding, and they were great and helped me do a "cake pull" in our cake for my dear college friends, which was one of the highlights of the reception! -

Martine is great to work with and super nice. She knew exactly what we wanted just by a couple pictures and my fiancé and I talking about what we wanted. She drew a sketch that was perfect right in front of us. She has great flavors and fillings and will even make you a flavor that's not on her list if you want her too! She also does a whole dessert bar which is great because not everyone like cake. -

If I could give a 10 on flexibility I totally would. We wanted custom flavors and Martine was the only baker I could find who would even consider it--of course there was a premium involved in that which is why I didn't rate her higher on value. She did a great job both decorating and baking and we were thrilled with the experience every step of the way. I would recommend her to anyone looking for any kind of dessert! -

My daughter and her fiancé decided to have an informal wedding at Red River Gorge, KY. We live in the Dayton Ohio area. The Winchester Bakery I had originally contacted for the cake was not answering or returning phone calls the week prior to her wedding date. So at the last minute I contacted Martines and she provided a gorgeous, simple, moist and delicious cake with only 4 days notice. Because of time constraints, we didn't have a huge selection of flavors to choose from nor was the design intricate, but the chocolate marble with buttercream was devine and beautiful!!! -

It was very important to us that our wedding cake be delicious. We are food and drink people, and to us, what the cake looked like wasn't nearly as important as the quality! We went to three tastings in Louisville and Lexington, and Martine's was the clear winner. Other cakes we tried were so sugary, and used some unnatural flavorings and dyes. Martine's cakes were balanced and sweet without being over the top- and her buttercream was far and away the tastiest we tried! We highly recommend Martine's! If we have one piece of advice to those of you planning your weddings, it would be to get a bit smaller of a cake than you think you'll need, not every guest will eat a piece (and a lot of them will be on the dance floor!) We ended up with a TON of leftover cake, we're just happy it's DELICIOUS leftover cake! ;) -
