10/10 experience with Lutz Entertainment

From my initial inquiry to our first meeting to the wedding day, Jimmy was responsive, personable, and committed to delivering the highest quality for our wedding day. Jimmy played acoustic guitar and sang at cocktail hour. His voice is so smooth and brought an amazing energy to the beginning of the party. He did a fabulous job introducing us and our wedding party into the reception. Jimmy did just the right amount of talking to keep the night running smoothly without doing too much!

We sent Spotify playlists to Jimmy before our wedding and he played so many of the songs we had on our list, but also added in his own songs that the guests loved and we would not have thought of! There were 4 songs on our “must play” list and I heard every single one.

Our guests had only the highest praise for Jimmy at the end of the night. The DJ and live music combo that he provides is incredible. Thank you, Jimmy, for making our wedding day unforgettable!

Absolutely Amazing!!

The best decision we could have made for our wedding was hiring Jimmy! From our initial meeting, we knew we made the right choice. He is so personable & you can tell he really cares about making the day special for you. Jimmy went out of his way to make sure we had every detail we wanted, including a special song in honor of my dad who passed away. If you’re questioning on whether to do the acoustic guitar during cocktail hour… do it! All of our guests keep raving about how amazing it was. Jimmy also knows what songs to play to reach everybody in the crowd. Thank you for making our day perfect Jimmy!!

I cannot describe how happy I am that we hired Jimmy to play our wedding. He is warm, incredibly responsive, and professional. He knows how to work a room and get people on to and, more importantly, stay on the dance floor. He executed our music choices flawlessly and it resulted in countless fun moments with friends and family that I will never forget and wish I could relive. We additionally had him play acoustic guitar at our cocktail hour and I would highly recommend having him do this. He is a skilled musician and it set a beautiful tone for the evening. So glad we found him!

So glad we found him! It was a true pleasure to be able to work with Jimmy Lutz for our Hudson Valley wedding. He was a consummate professional from the start and immediately put us at ease, when we spoke with him while navigating the (overwhelming!) wedding planning process. Suddenly I felt like we had an ally in the process, who could help us along the way. His years of experience allows him to understand instinctually all the dynamics of weddings and events and to know what's needed when. He can "read a crowd" for sure! and knows there are people of all ages there to appeal to. He patiently reviewed all of our song ideas and listened closely to understand the type of event and feeling we were hoping to create. He was a great emcee too. Best of all- when I wanted to surprise my husband with an Elvis impersonator and to get our guests dancing to some fun songs together- picture a "kick line" to Sinatra's "New York New York"!, he shared lots of ideas to help make it happen successfully. It went off with out a hitch! And our guests can't stop talking about what fun the party was. He also provided us with a super helpful guide and song ideas for each step of the wedding and reception process and he was always available to take our questions. Jimmy was a vital member of our wedding team!

The best choice for your wedding!

Jimmy was the BEST! From the first email he sent, to spending so much time with us picking out our songs, offering wonderful suggestions and just really understanding the vibe we wanted to go with for our wedding day, he was the best choice we could have made. Our guests were blown away with the great mix of old and new, and the last song of the night just sealed it for everyone! Jimmy is such a personable, kind, and talented person, I would (and have) recommended him to other friends and people I know getting married. Jimmy provided the music for our ceremony, played acoustic guitar at our cocktail hour (AMAZING!) and was incredible at the reception. You will not be disappointed. We had nothing to worry about the day of our wedding :)

Hire This DJ!

Jimmy was so responsive from the start! We heard back from him right away. He was just as excited as we were about the music we wanted to play at our wedding. Our goals were to have special songs to us play during the ceremony, and to keep everyone on the dance floor all night! Jimmy played songs for every age group and the floor was packed with all of our guests even before the sun set and until last call. He was so considerate for our announcements, parent dances, reminders, and taking cues like a pro. He even approached us to make sure we were comfortable with certain details. He was a kind, considerate, music wizard, consummate professional. I cannot recommend him enough for your special occasion!!

Acoustic cocktail hour & Dancing all night to classics

My husband and I were fortunate enough to have worked with Jimmy Lutz for our wedding! Jimmy made himself available to answer questions and we were able to meet in person twice before the wedding. He is professional, patient and talented. I joked with Jimmy that my husband I are old souls and liked older music that our parents grew up on. I could tell from Jimmy's website that his taste in music was right up our alley. Steve and I wanted our night filled with classic rock and classic songs that all our guests could dance to. Jimmy could read the crowd and kept them dancing all night. Jimmy is also a very talented musician himself and sung classics like the Beatles, Elton John at our cocktail hour. This acoustic cocktail hour was unique and our guests loved it. The highlight of the night was when I asked Jimmy if my brother could perform karaoke of LA Woman. Jimmy didn't hesitate and provided my brother a microphone. Jimmy helped make our wedding night one we would never forget and we can't thank him enough.

Jimmy Lutz - Amazing DJ!!!

My Husband and I could not be more thrilled to have had Jimmy at our wedding! Not only did Jimmy deliver and keep everyone on the dance floor the whole night he was so enjoyable and friendly to work with! The whole experience was truly customized to our taste and style. Jimmy was so warm during our listening party and really let us share a bit of ourselves through our musical tastes. We worked together on every detail and we even found a way to infuse some songs into the night to honor my late mother in a celebratory way. His ability to handle something delicate like that so gracefully is something that I am forever grateful for. It's very clear this man loves his job and just wants to see everyone happy and celebrating. Our guests are still raving about our wedding and had such a blast on the dance floor! 10/10 would recommend. Best DJ, could not have gone better. Forever a Jimmy Lutz fan.

Fantastic all around

Jimmy was amazing to work with from the first inquiry email to the big day! We used his amazing acoustic skills for cocktail hour which was such a hit with our guests and he did a fantastic job during the reception. With COVID, we were worried about making sure our family and friends had a good time while still being safe. Jimmy was easy to work with due to all the changes we had to make and read the room perfectly to ensure our guests had a great time. He was professional, fun and overall a great guy! Jimmy was also great about helping us select the perfect songs even though going in we were very indecisive! I would definitely recommend him!

Spectacular DJ!

We originally hired Jimmy for a 110 person wedding, and ending up with an 18 person wedding. That being said, he was a pro at reading the room, and getting the vibe exactly right. We gave him a short list of our favorite bands/musicians and he wove their songs in throughout the night. Some of the songs were such deep cuts, I was surprised and delighted when he played them! Like a skilled mindreader! He also played the acoustic version of Here Comes the Sun (the Beatles) for my walk down the aisle and it was absolutely perfect. A moment I'll cherish forever.

Small wedding, big party!

This is the third wedding Jimmy has done for our family (with the fourth upcoming in September) and, once again, Jimmy rocked it. My wedding was planned quickly and was a small, more intimate event.

First, he provided music for the ceremony which went flawlessly. We didn't have a formal cocktail hour, but he played a lovely mix of easy listening from the end of the ceremony leading into dinner.

Because the venue was a was small and we had maybe 70 guests total, I was concerned that there wouldn't be a big dancing crowd. Although that's what I wanted, I knew that a realistic expectation would be that maybe a few people would get out there. WRONG! I was SO thrilled that Jimmy was able to work his magic and get everyone having an amazing time.

Jimmy is thorough, professional, organized, and incredibly knowledgeable. I owe much of the success and low level of stress to him on my wedding day. Thank you Lutz Entertainment!!

Fantastic Experience

Jimmy was amazing. His live music that accompanied the ceremony was fantastic and enhanced the experience. Highly Recommend!

My husband and I are so glad that we chose to work with Jimmy! Though we weren't able to meet in person before the wedding day, I spoke with Jimmy on the phone before we hired him and he answered all of my questions, as well as recommended that we have a "listening date" where we spend time together selecting music for the wedding. This was such a sweet and important idea and helped us slow down a little during the busy planning stages.

Prior to the day, we skyped with Jimmy and reviewed all of our song choices, what time to start the song on and what time to end it, as well as described our music tastes to him. Jimmy was very open to our suggestions, and got a good sense of our eclectic taste very quickly. He was open to downloading music that he did not already have, and incorporated all of the songs we requested. When a song request came in that he was not sure that I would approve (I had asked for no slow songs but someone requested Sinatra), he checked with me before playing it and it turned out to be a big hit! He read the room and kept people dancing all night.

One of the things that Jimmy said during our first conversation that really sold me was that he "lets the music speak for itself." He worked with my cousin who emcee'd the wedding, and was willing to make announcements, but was very much in the background, letting the music take center stage. As a music lover, I really appreciate this and think that he did his job perfectly.

Dance all night long!

We loved Lutz! We chose him on the recommendation of a friend, and we would pass along that recommendation in a heartbeat. When we Skyped before the wedding, we could tell right away that Lutz is passionate about what he does. He knows music, and he knows people; this combination helps him adapt to couples of all stripes. Lutz was eager to hear our vision and preferences, and he matched them perfectly. He set the perfect tone for our ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and (most importantly!) dancing! Lutz knows how to draw guests to the dance floor, and keep them there! Even more than we expected - OUTSTANDING!

I'm truthfully not even sure where to start with Jim & Lutz Entertainment. We were looking for a non-cheesy DJ with a true passion for music, and thats exactly what we got with Jim. For one, the meeting process was very laid back and low pressure, which is what we were looking for, especially with so many other things going on. As soon as we started explaining our musical tastes at our first meeting (my husband and I have very different interests musically), Jim gave suggestions that were seamless to our initial playlist ideas; providing things we didn't even think of! He's so much more than "just a DJ". He helped us to plan from before the ceremony, all the way through the reception. Even right down to the day of, he kept everything moving smoothly, even helping me to relax when rain was suddenly in the forecast! He was truly an asset to our team, working well with the other vendors and keeping our wants and needs at the forefront of the night. We didn't want any requests (unless they were a good fit into what was already playing, fully trusting Jim with the decision) and he did a great job of honoring that, without being abrasive to our guests. If we could recommend Lutz Entertainment 1000x over, we would. If you are looking for a super knowledgable, friendly guy who provides exceptional entertainment keeping your guests talking about how much fun they had at your wedding, look no further! Jimmy is your guy and we can't thank him enough for everything!

Jimmy was the best!

Jimmy Lutz kept the party going all night long! When we first met with Jimmy and told him we were having a New Year’s Eve wedding his eyes lit up! He helped us plan the ceremony perfectly, followed by an acoustic set for cocktail hour, which really set the tone for the night. Everyone was pumped up and ready to have a great time! He kept the night moving smoothly, only making brief announcements for cake and parent dances. The dance floor was never empty, which is exactly what we asked for! We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ!

5/5 ALL THE WAY! Jimmy is the best in the biz. He is friendly and guides you through options and input when needed! He really understood exactly what we wanted, and multiple guests commented on how great the music was for every bit of our wedding. Jimmy is a one man show and very in demand, but you would never know it because he is always available and responsive. My father wanted to surprise me with a special song before our first dance, and coordinated the details with Jimmy ahead of time. Jimmy was more than happy to talk with him and plan out the surprise, and it went over so well!!

We are so thankful for him and what he did for us, we will never forget him!!

Honestly, one of the best experiences through the wedding planning process and during the actual event, was Jimmy Lutz. I called Jimmy for a quick interview while my wife and I were scouting DJ's. That one initial phone call turned into a 2-hour conversation about music, life, and love. It was absolutely brilliant. I instantly knew that not only did we find our DJ, but we found a great human being. Jimmy was so in tune with us, and our desires. He has the broadest range of music knowledge I've ever witnessed and he knows how to read a crowd (not just play music)! If I could advise any future Bride and Groom that are thinking of using Lutz Entertainment, I would say to let Jimmy be free to do as he sees fit because he's so phenomenal at it. He read all my guests energies; the dancing never stopped. He knows how to mix in strange requests so that they don't seem like they are out of no where and clash with the vibe. I can't say this enough, I am still getting messages from everyone that came, saying it was the best music they've ever heard at a wedding. I promise you, talk to him about "wedding songs" how no band creates them intentionally, tell him the music you love... and let him work it all out. He's a genius.

Jimmy provided the music and MC'ed my daughter Danielle's wedding in 2014. Even though I have known Jimmy socially for a number of years I was blown away by his skills as a DJ. His professionalism, the way he spoke to people and how he kept it all flowing was spectacular.

Jimmy is a phenomenal DJ!!! He was so thorough during the planning process, taking note of songs and genres that we liked and disliked. He really listens to everything you say, gives great advice, and ultimately chooses music that you want, not just what's popular. He helped us finalize our ceremony music and made sure every single song we picked for the ceremony was perfect. He played guitar and sang during the cocktail hour. It created the perfect ambiance and SO many guests told me how much they enjoyed that. For the reception, we wanted a variety of music that reflected our tastes and that all of our guests would enjoy, and the day of the wedding Jimmy totally nailed it. He helped me choose a song to play in memory of my godmother, and it was absolutely perfect. The dance floor was full of family celebrating her life - a moment I will never forget. The music set the mood for each and every part of our wedding day, and I can't tell you how many guests complimented the music after the wedding. Jimmy Lutz is definitely the greatest DJ in the Hudson Valley. After taking the time to get to know our musical personalities and preferences, he was able to guide us to finding the perfect songs for ceremony, entrances, dances – it was such a relief! There were so many details that we had not even thought of that he brought up and made sure we didn’t forget. Jimmy did our ceremony music at the church and was at the venue, set up to play acoustic guitar by the time we got there. We loved having the acoustic for cocktail hour – it was such a nice way to start out the day. The music selection was perfect and Jimmy had us dancing the whole day away and helped make it the greatest day. We are beyond grateful for his help in preparing for the day and in keeping everything running on the day so we could relax and enjoy!

Jimmy DJ’d our wedding reception this past summer and it was an absolute blast. People were up dancing the entire time, and so many people commented on how fun the music was to dance to and how enjoyable the music was in terms of sound level (people were still able to talk when the wanted to, and no one left with ear damage :)). Jimmy was able to take just a few ideas from us about the kind of music we like, and create the best party we’ve ever been to. He was also super respectful in avoiding music that we didn’t want. Music was a very important aspect of our wedding and from the first meeting with Jimmy, we had a strong sense that he “got” us. We wanted to have a sound that incorporated alternative, rock, and folk, but was still familiar and exciting for our friends and family. We worked with Jimmy to plan out what types of music we wanted to play during each part of the wedding. At the wedding, Jimmy created a flawless playlist based on our tastes that was perfect from the ceremony through the end of the evening. Book Jimmy immediately! He is the kindest, sweetest, most thoughtful person and truly cares about you and the music at your wedding. He sat down with my husband and I several times and helped us figure out just the right songs for each part of our wedding/reception - and we had was SO much fun in the process!!! Even when we had problems finding a first dance song, I reached out to Jimmy, and he was so kind to put together a document with all the first dance songs of his couples for us to review - and he bolded the songs that he liked the most.

For our cocktail hour, Jimmy played his guitar, and it added just the right touch of fun during that time. We got several comments about how wonderful it was.

During the reception, our guests were on the dance floor all night long and the music was so fun. Jimmy doesn't play the same songs other DJs plays - he chooses the songs and keeps the guests guessing all night long. He also threw in all our special requests and made sure we were aware whenever he did something special.

I can't recommend Jimmy more. He simply is the best!

Jimmy is a saint! 2 weeks out and our family friend DJ fell through. In this scarily narrow timeline, we expected to get some kid who happened to have a table and a nice laptop. Enter Jimmy. I have been to a lot of weddings, but Jimmy is awesome at his job! He blew us away with his organization and professionalism. We knew from our initial phone call that we'd have a great day and that all would be well. Jimmy was very accommodating and supportive of our very peculiar playlist requests that featured everything from weird French pop to traditional Serbian folk music! All the guests were on the floor from the minute they finished eating and they stayed up until they could no longer stand! Most importantly he did an excellent job of communicating with my wife and I all evening, making sure to play our favorites within the timeline limitations. His setup was very professional looking and the uplighting looked fantastic! We cannot thank him enough, he is such a warm person, and helped to make our day perfect from the initial procession to the very last dance.

Jimmy Lutz did an awesome job for our May 2015 wedding. Jimmy was great, worked with us along the entire way, was low key but not over the top. Because he is an actual musician he has a great taste and appreciation for all kinds of music, which made our event extra special because he went through and actually planned the songs to be played during the ceremony and cocktail hour, making sure each song complimented each other and us. He also played an acoustic guitar and sang during our cocktail hour, and all of our guests were raving about how great he was. My husband and I got married this past July, and we are so happy that we used Jimmy as both our DJ for the ceremony and reception, and for performing live during our cocktail hour. From our first meeting, he made us feel very comfortable and he was always incredibly responsive to emails. We met with him twice and he was very attentive to detail. From the music played before the ceremony to the last song he worked with us to plan out the flow of the whole night and to pick just the right songs. He was able to work all of our requests into the night and he did a great job of keeping us on our timeline the day of as well. We also had so many guests compliment us on his singing and guitar during cocktail hour! Most people didn’t realize it was Jimmy doing both the live performance and working the DJ booth all night. It was a great way to break up the night with something different, and adding live music was a really fun way to make the night more special. Jimmy did a great job during the reception matching the energy of the room and picking songs to keep the dance floor packed all night! Lutz Entertainment was recommended by our day of coordinator Jeanne Stark (Hudson Valley Ceremonies). After reading excellent review after excellent review and a quick phone screening, we hired him for our wedding. We met in person once before the wedding to review introductions and accompanying music, our first dance (which he performed live), our musical preferences and the entire run of show. And in the final weeks leading up to the wedding, Jimmy checked in to see if we had any additional requests or thoughts.

The process was seamless and it showed the day of. For instance, my mother was insistent that dinner was not a time to be dancing and guests should be able to hear each other from across the table. Mindful of this, Jimmy used the time to play non-dancing music from some of our favorite bands at a lower level than normal. Speaking with a close friend (who knows my musical preferences) after the wedding, he expressed how personal the music was throughout the night, from introductions to dinner to dancing. Success!

Jimmy’s enthusiasm for music is infectious and my husband and I now find ourselves brainstorming ways we could incorporate him into future events, just so we could work with him again! With that said, we highly recommend Jimmy for your own wedding!

Jimmy was everything we could have hoped for in a DJ for our wedding! We had a small, low-key wedding with no bridal party and no traditional add-ons (bouquet toss, father/daughter dance, etc.). We just wanted good music and a good time. We met with him a few times over Skype and knew that he would be perfect. We gave him some suggestions for music just so he could get a feel for our style and told him to just go with whatever he wanted. And did he ever!! He has an amazing feel for a room and knows how to ramp the party up as well as calm it down, like when it was time for dinner. We had a very diverse group so we told him not to be shy about the classics and to mix in whatever he felt would keep the party going. The dance floor was packed for our entire reception and even my dad, tie-loosened, called Jimmy "out of this world". In fact, many of our guests kept telling us over and over all evening how great he was. He also played guitar and sang for cocktail hour and it was such a great touch. From the beginning of the ceremony until the last dance, Jimmy was a total pro and created the most amazing atmosphere for our wedding. I couldn't recommend him more highly.

We hired Jimmy to be the DJ at our wedding reception, and play his live guitar music during our cocktail hour. The whole evening was wonderful... We had spent a few hours with him discussing our music preferences and also to plan out exactly what we wanted both during the ceremony and reception. Jimmy carried everything out exactly as we had planned it. We also thought Jimmy would have his work cut out for him during the reception, because we thought neither my husband's family nor my family would dance much. Boy were we wrong... Jimmy managed to work his magic, and much to our surprise the dance floor was full the whole night! My husband and I chose to work with Jimmy for our 10/18/14 wedding and could not say enough great things about our experience with him. We live in CT but were married in NY, so we were a bit nervous about how we would coordinate meetings but Jimmy was incredibly flexible and responsive and did all of our prep meetings with us leading up to the wedding via Skype.

He made the planning process incredibly easy - and fun! He went above and beyond to help us to think about things we may not have considered and gave us honest feedback on our ideas based on what he has seen work well (and not so well) in the past all without pressuring us into anything.

We wanted to have Jimmy play guitar/sing for our cocktail hour to change things up a bit for our guests and are so happy that we did - he did an absolutely amazing job and it really made for something unique on the big day.

Regarding the reception music - my husband and I were totally lost here and completely overwhelmed in trying to convey what we were looking for - which was essentially a little bit of everything for everyone, but still somehow incorporating our favorites & style. Jimmy asked us to just send him a few songs and our vision and he promised to read the crowd and deliver on our vision...and he did just that. Practically everyone of our guests commented on how amazing our music was. I don't think a single guest was sitting all night. The energy in the room was amazing and we could not have been happier!

Our wedding was a blast from beginning to the end (not that anyone wanted it to end!) Jim played all the music we requested at appropriate times and was even able to make the few odd ball requests fit in perfectly! The sound was great for both the church and the reception (which was outside under a tent). Due to a technical error with the grill, dinner came out about and hour and a half late, but Jim kept everyone dancing the whole time while we waited! Then after we ate, everyone was right back on the dance floor!

Another great feature of having Jim as our DJ is the photo booth he provided. What a hit with all the guests! We were able to personalize our own photo strips (from background picture, to the words at the bottom, to the color of everything!) and we received ALL the pictures the guests took that night on a flash drive a week or so after the wedding. That was fun to go through! He also provided a trunk full of props for the guests to use in the photo booth. I was amazed at how easy it was to use!

We would definitely recommend Jim to anyone for an event. He knows music very well and knows how to make a wedding flow smoothly. He's great to go to for advice about vendors and any other help you might need with a wedding as well. He becomes more than a DJ as he helps you plan the wedding. Thanks for everything, Jim!

I got married at the Rhinecliff on August 31, 2014 and used Jimmy as my DJ. He was incredibly professional and very knowledgeable about the type of music that I like. I explained to Jimmy that I like older, classic rock (Zeppelin, Doors, Animals, Beatles etc...) but that I wanted to focus on the more upbeat songs for the dancing and he most definitely delivered. My husband and I don't have a very "dancing crowd" type family and friends but most of them couldn't help but visit the dance floor at least once. And EVERYONE commented on how awesome the music was... they heard songs they hadn't heard in years. He was also able to find me the perfect piano version of Stairway to Heaven to walk down the aisle to (I had been searching for weeks - Jimmy found it in less than 2 minutes).
I was very, very nervous about a week before the wedding. I met with Jimmy and a few hours later my mind was at ease. Almost like a wedding planner, he helped my figure out at what point in the song each of my bridesmaids went down the aisle to and on that day he most definitely delivered. He also made a wonderful suggestion for my husband - to do a father daughter dance time to "You've Got a Friend in Me" which was very touching. Everything we planned was perfectly on point; almost as if we were telepathically working in unison with each other (realistically it was all him but I like to think I contributed ; )
Another big thing for me was that he was NOT cheesy in any way, shape or form but never came off as uptight.... just a very professional person with awesome taste in music. He even managed to squeeze in a little Rob Zombie (at my request)! at just the right moment. In my opinion your DJ can make or break your wedding and I felt incredible lucky to be working with someone like Jimmy Lutz and would highly recommend him to anyone.

Jimmy was wonderful to work with. We planned our wedding from overseas and we had many conversations with him via Skype as we continued to plan the wedding. He asked lots of questions and helped us out with song lists in order to fully understand what kind of music we wanted for our ceremony and reception. Prior to our wedding, Jimmy spent four hours dedicated to planning the details for our wedding. He is fully committed to you and gives you the upmost attention.
On the wedding day, he played acoustic guitar for cocktail hour and DJed the reception. The guests loved the touch of the acoustic guitar. He was very responsive to every request during the party. He was able to accommodate any and all of our needs. Jimmy directed the flow of the party to make sure our guests were aware of things like signing the guest book, taking pictures in front of a mural the grooms mother had made, making sure people ate pie, etc.

I can't say enough good things about Jimmy Lutz! He is fantastic. I was worried about the cheesy DJ thing but when I met Jimmy I knew he was the perfect fit for our wedding. I am very much into music and spoke with Jimmy extensively about what songs we wanted played. He even offers a listening party which is where you go and hang at his apartment and listen to music to decide on what stuff you like and don't like. He is VERY buttoned up...his forms that he has you fill out about the day are very detailed....there is no room for error which is so comforting on your big day.

I joke with Jimmy that he was like having a second wedding planner. I probably spoke to Jimmy at least once a week leading up to the wedding. He had the amazing idea to rent a dance floor for the barn we were getting married at. It made a world of difference! He got me in touch with fireworks people, he knew my caterers and loved them, and was even gonna help me look for a hair person when mine fell through at the last minute, ha! He is really just an all-around super nice and helpful guy. I can't even call him a DJ because he is so much more than that when it comes to your big day.

Jimmy was awesome! He was very easy to work with while planning and had a lot of great advice for us as we were working through some of the details. Even though my husband and I live in Astoria, NY, that didn't stop Jimmy from keeping in contact with us through skype, meeting with us and discussing everything we wanted and making us feel comfortable with choosing him for our DJ. Leading up to the wedding Jimmy and I spent about 3 hours on skype going through the whole wedding, so he kind of became our wedding coordinator on top of being our DJ! If it weren't for him, our wedding would not have run so smoothly. He took the pressure off of us so we could enjoy our day from start to finish, making sure everything timed out the way it was supposed to! Not only that, he kept people on the dance floor all night, even my parents who I haven't seen dance in years! When we first met Jimmy we felt comfortable with him immediately. We met with him twice and he seemed genuinely concerned with our needs. We told him exactly what we wanted and he delivered!! He customized our wedding exactly as we had requested. Once the music started, people began dancing and never stopped. Several of our guests told us they normally don't dance at weddings, but they danced all night at ours. Even the staff at our venue was on the dance floor towards the end of the evening. Jimmy did such a great job at our wedding. From the first time we met with him, he put us at
ease that we had made the right decision in regards to our wedding music.

We asked Jimmy to play an acoustic guitar set for our cocktail hour and at our first meeting, Jimmy played a few songs for us. We could tell the passion Jimmy had for playing music. We honestly could have sat with Jimmy and listened to him play for hours. At our wedding, we had a lot of our guests tell us how nice of a touch it was having an acoustic guitar during cocktail hour and how good Jimmy was. We even had a family member wanting to break away from picture taking to hear a song!!

Jimmy also handled our ceremony and reception music. His attention to detail was apparent as he had us fill out a sheet asking us all the music we wanted for our processional, first dance, cutting of the cake, etc. There was no chance anything would be missed. Jimmy even took the time to review the pronunciation of our bridal party's names so he would get

We left the song choices to Jimmy and he delivered. He kept such a good mix going all night that all of our guests were up dancing at one point during the evening. And no doubt, Jimmy kept the party and dancing crowd going all night as well.

Wow, what can I say? I can say that Jimmy was AMAZING. He was also so fun to work with leading up to the wedding. My husband and I have VERY different tastes (Jimmy can vouch for that), but he helped us meet a middle ground when it came to picking dinner music and the dancing music. We were having a few challenges deciding on songs, but meeting with Jimmy was extremely helpful. He even made us do a twirl during our meeting to see if a particular song would work for us! My husband and I cannot recommend DJ Jimmy enough! Throughout the wedding planning process he was flexible as far as meeting times and locations. We live in NJ but were getting married in NY since our families are there, and he met with us via Skype when we couldn't meet in person. He also did a great job figuring out what kind of music we like based on the information we provided. He helped us select ceremony music that fit our personalities perfectly (and consequently brought my mom to tears) and also played an awesome set on acoustic guitar during our cocktail hour that our friends and family really enjoyed. Throughout the reception we just kept hearing song after song that we loved! Jimmy also did a good job managing the flow of events throughout the evening in coordination with the venue. Everything went smoothly, from the first dance as husband and wife to the last dance of the evening. And the dance floor was always packed. People keep telling us how much fun they had, and how sore their legs are (still, 2 days later) from dancing! DJ Jimmy Lutz is the perfect choice for any couple who want to make sure that they have a fantastic time dancing with friends and family at their wedding.

We loved Jimmy! We were looking for a DJ who wouldn't be too cheesy or intrusive--just someone to keep people dancing with some kick-ass tunes. Jimmy was all that and more. He spent lots of time with us getting to know our (VERY specific) tastes and preferences. I also appreciated that he really took the time to tailor his setup to our venue, which had some tricky stuff to deal with when it came to different rooms and indoor/outdoor syncing of music. It was so great to be able to just let things go on the wedding day and trust that Jimmy had it under control--and he definitely did. He kept things moving right on schedule and exceeded our expectations when it came to music selection. His prices were also very reasonable, and we'll definitely recommend him to friends!

My husband and I loved working with Jimmy! We met with two DJs but really we knew right away that Jimmy was 'the one'. We felt that he was actually listening to us and what we wanted for our wedding day. A few weeks before the big day he sat down with us and went over in detail the plan for the day, helping us pick out music and really getting to know us and what we liked and didn't like. It was such a great experience, you can tell that Jimmy actually cares about his couples and making them happy! Jimmy was the most incredible DJ we could have hired for our wedding. He met with us twice in preparation, for at least two hours each time and we discussed everything from our musical tastes to our vision for the wedding. During that process he was open to all of our ideas and had lots of his own thoughts about what would work for our event. After our second meeting he also responded to a number of my e-mails requesting other songs.

Jimmy made our wedding the best party ever. He kept the evening running smoothly and was totally fine with our low-key schedule. Jimmy didn't pressure us to include things we didn't want to and was incredibly helpful in planning the flow of the entire evening.

I would recommend Jimmy to anyone who asked, and a number of people at our wedding are already planning on hiring him for their events!

My husband and I really wanted our wedding to be an INCREDIBLE party. Had it not been for Jimmy Lutz and his assistant Mariah it would have been a good time; but they made sure the whole night was a blast! The dance room was full the entire night. Anything Jimmy announced the guests listened too, meaning he just captured everyone at our 200 person weddings attention. Throughout the whole night people were commenting on the incredible guitarist we had gotten for the evening. When I told them he was also the DJ they were so impressed and could not stop raving what a find we had when we found him, and Scott and I both agree completely!

When speaking to Jimmy about the wedding and what we had hoped the night to be, he sat with us for 3 hours to talk about every detail, and they were all executed perfectly! If ever you have been to a wedding in which the DJ gets someone names wrong, you would never have to worry about that with Jimmy. Our whole wedding party was shocked at what an incredible job he did getting all of their names right!

We were surrounded by incredible vendors on our wedding day, and Jimmy stands out at the top. For any bride looking to have a sweaty, smiley, crazy fun dance party .... there is no one better than Jimmy!

If Jimmy is available for your event, then book him. Jimmy was the Dj for our wedding reception and sang acoustic during our cocktail hour and he was awesome. If you are looking for a DJ in the Hudson Valley of NY, look no further than Jimmy Lutz. Simply put, Jimmy did a phenomenal job from our first meeting until the very last song at the reception. He was extremely attentive to our wishes and desires for our big day and delivered exactly what he promised. The ceremony music went off without a hitch and during the reception he had a great feel for the mood of the room and besides making a few announcements that we asked of him he just let the music do the talking. He did an awesome and non-intrusive job communicating with us throughout the night and even made sure we were on the dance floor for songs we had specifically requested. Jimmy was very helpful and accommodating. I thought it was very important to meet with him before the wedding to hear our vision and go over with him what we wanted to hear and do during the reception. We had an excellent experience with Lutz Entertainment. He listened to our thoughts about what we wanted for the wedding day and he nailed it. Jimmy is amazing! He was our deejay at our April 27, 2013 wedding reception. He also performed a wonderful acoustic set during our cocktail hour. Leading up to the wedding, Jimmy was very responsive and was sure to design a set list that was what we wanted and which represented us. He makes sure to play what keeps the crowd going. Jimmy is a great guy and a fantastic musician. I planned our wedding from 600 miles away and Jimmy was very accommodating to my needs and always got back to me right away with any questions or concerns that I had. At one point during dinner my best man came up to me and asked "is this your ipod playing right now? It's all your favorite songs!" I replied, "No, it's DJ Jimmy Lutz." Jimmy perfectly understood what we wanted out of our reception. We planned our wedding from afar, so I only had one phone interview and one skype session with Jimmy, but that was enough for him to "get it." He kept the energy going at the right times. From the reviews we really wanted to meet with Jimmy. After meeting with him, we were immediately sold. He seemed to understand our idea of a good wedding (no props, no line dances, no cheesiness and great music). We booked him almost a year in advance, but he offered and encouraged us to meet with him two weeks prior to go over every detail. He played guitar during cocktail hour, and was such a hit another couple getting married asked for his information. He also DJed ceremony music and reception - the ceremony music was cued perfectly like we went over, and he kept everyone dancing the whole night. Would definitely recommend!

I received Jimmy's business card from my Photographer (Kerri Lynne Photography)- and immediately contacted him to discuss the possibility of him DJ'ing our wedding. Jimmy set up a call with my husband and I to get a feel for each other, what kind of music we liked, etc. My husband and I immediately felt comfortable with Jimmy- and that was just over the phone! We met about 2 times in person to go over what we wanted, and we were never rushed. Jimmy was very patient, and offered great suggestions. Our guests loved the music- and were constantly on the dance floor. Jimmy read our guests well, and was able to continue to play music that they liked. With 6 months to plan a wedding, the DJ was the first vendor we booked. When we saw that Jimmy was available, we contacted him and he was available to meet with us right away. Right from the start, he was organized and informative. He gave us plenty of information to read through and lots of helpful suggestions. Anytime I had a question or concern, Jimmy would respond to my e-mails in less than a day. It was great that he was so available to help! During our final meeting Jimmy took great care in making sure he had all of the details worked out exactly how we wanted them. The introductions, special songs, and toasts were carefully planned out and executed perfectly. At the reception, Jimmy and his assistant Alex did an amazing job. Guests commented on how perfect the music flowed throughout the night. Alex even took over 100 pictures that night, including the pictures on my Wedding Wire profile! Jimmy is a true professional and one of the best DJ's I've had the pleasure to experience (at my wedding or any other). He DJ'd my cousins wedding a year before mine and I knew from the amazing music and atmosphere that I had to have him for my wedding. From start to finish Jimmy was helpful even with things like food, live performers (other than himself), officiants etc. He goes above and beyond what you would expect his duties to be to help in any way he possibly can. He truly made my wedding amazing! As an example we had a cigar roller during the cocktail hour and there were multiple people who told me that they had cigars made and completely forgot to smoke them during the reception because they were having so much fun on the dance floor!

Jimmy did an amazing job at our wedding! He took so much time meeting with me and my fiancé before the wedding to get to know us and our tastes. Simply put, Jimmy Lutz is the best! When I say that he is truly passionate about DJing, it is an understatement. He takes every aspect of it extremely seriously and professionally. At the same time, he is such a pleasure to work with and got us so excited for the reception before the wedding date. He took the time to go over the pronunciation of every single person he would be announcing, and spent an afternoon with us at his home, working through the our list of songs and making sure everything was perfect. 5 stars all around. We really give credit to Jimmy for how smoothly our wedding ran. He met with us early on and his expertise as a DJ kind of doubles as a wedding planner! He really took the time to listen to us about our preferences in music and about what we wanted our wedding to feel like. Jimmy kept everyone on the dance floor all night; he is so talented at reading the crowd and picking the perfect songs to play. By the time the reception was supposed to end, the dance floor was still packed and we ended up having him and his assistant Alex stay an extra half hour, and even at that no one was ready to leave!! On top of all that, he is such a nice and down-to-earth guy. Definitely recommend Lutz Entertainment!

Our wedding this past weekend was amazing and we couldn't have asked for a better DJ! Jimmy was so easy to work with and not only did he give us great suggestions but he also listened to us and really got to know our music preferences. Everything he played was based on what my husband and I wanted! Jimmy was also a lot of fun to work with, and my husband and I knew right away that we had found the perfect DJ for our wedding. We have no complaints! Thank you so much Jimmy!!!

Jimmy was awesome at our wedding. Our wedding had a number of diverse people with very different tastes in music. I advised Jimmy that the goal was for everyone to recognize and love at least a couple of songs.
I think he hit the nail on the head. One person commented that he would remember this wedding because the music didn't suck!
Jimmy played the songs we requested, but still managed to play songs that were fun and upbeat and everyone loved it. Ours was a small wedding, so the dance floor wasn't crowded, but there were always people on it having a great time.
Also, Jimmy is a very laid-back guy, very easygoing and friendly, and he was really outstanding.

Jimmy was an absolutely amazing DJ. My husband and I feel truly lucky to have selected him for our wedding. All the guests were out on the dance floor, and we were all having such an amazing time. There were so many times when someone would come up to me to tell me how great the music was or how much fun they were having. People raved about him and his assistant. He really knew how to motivate the crowd, get people on the dance floor, and keep them there.

Even when we first met Jimmy, he was VERY thorough when getting to know us, asking details about how we met, learning about our families, how to accurately say their names for introductions...and he REALLY pays attention to the music you love and want played. (And all the stuff you DON'T want.) I can't say enough fantastic things about Jimmy. Our families joked that this would be the "best wedding ever", and he truly made it the BEST. WEDDING. EVER.

Jimmy was recommended to us by our wedding planner, Karin, from Cinderella 4 a Day. We didn't even need to meet any other DJs once we met Jimmy. He was so accommodating and made me feel so much better whenever we had a change of heart about a song, or who was dancing with whom. I come from a broken family, so there was a lot of obvious stress about songs and dances. Jimmy was 100% supportive the whole way. He did everything he could to make me comfortable, while making sure Rob, my husband, was always represented as well. Jimmy sings and plays guitar, which he did as the bridal party walked down the aisle. The day was PERFECT and Jimmy used all of our musical taste suggestions perfectly. Anyone who wants a class DJ with a laid back and accommodating attitude, should go with Jimmy!!

Jimmy took the time and effort to secure everything we could wish for! For our wedding, the music was our primary focus and Jimmy hit it outta the park. Our guests danced all night long!!! Our guests still comment about how the music made the night. He was an absolute sweetheart and an incredible pleasure to work with.

Hands down knows how to get people to have a good time. Lutz Entertainment WILL deliver, and I will never hesitate to recommend him to anyone. Calling himself a DJ isn't enough, this guy KNOWS music and musicians, and more importantly knows how to ensure people have a great time. People are still talking about our wedding and it was months ago. I am not much of a dancer but he told me before the wedding, if you want your guests to have a good time, make sure you guys are in the middle of that dance floor. Do what he says, I stayed out there the whole night and we had a PACKED floor, with all of our family and friends out there with us. Best night of my life, and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Lutz Entertainment every time, no questions asked.
