We are very happy with Lovin Oven and how our cake came out. The tasting was very thorough, and they incorporated the ribbon and cake toppers we had provided them perfectly. We didn't get pictures, but we also got gluten free chocolate cupcakes and sugar free chocolate cake for some of our guests with dietary needs. The cake was so moist and not too sweet, and we heard from guests that they couldn't even tell that the sugar free chocolate cake was sugar free!

Stunning wedding cake
Lovin oven cakes was the vendor offered through our wedding venue and I'm so happy they were because the cake was absolutly stunning! My jaw dropped when I saw how perfect it was and it tasted just as good as it looked. We were not able to do the tasting because of a last minute thing on our end but they accommodated us and were able to do it over zoom and let me send in my inspo pictures via email. I had my cake topper sent to them and they placed it before bringing it to the venue for us. Highly recommend!!

Wedding cake of my dreams!
Lovin Oven was so awesome to work with and our end result was better than I ever could have imagined. They met with us for our tasting and helped us to agree on flavors that we both loved. The carmel buttercream was out of this world paired with the marble cake. All of our wedding guests complemented how delicious and elegant the cake was! I was able to drop off some of our wooden flowers and they placed them in the cake and tied them right in to our decor. As I baker myself, I am still in awe of how beautiful our cake was and couldn’t have been happier. 10/10 would recommend this bakery to ANYONE looking for a cake or sweet treats for any occasion. My husband and I will return for years to come.

Lovin Oven is a delicious bakery to begin with, and they did a phenomenal job with our wedding cake! We got our bridal shower cakes (and plenty others over the years) from Lovin Oven, and every time they knock it out of the park by bringing our vision to life. We met with Stephanie and tasted a number of cake items, and all we did was provide them with photos of what we were thinking of, and they replicated with the most personal of touches. We gave them our cake topper and they took the time to be sure it was secured correctly so it would last all day until the cake was cut. We opted for a smaller cake for the wedding party and a dessert table with plenty of variety for the guests (the cake shooters were a huge hit!). We highly recommend going to the wedding open house Lovin Oven hosts, since you can taste a variety of desserts, beyond just your traditional cakes.

Lovin’ Oven Cakery knocked our wedding cake out of the park! From day one, we loved how helpful and communicative Stephanie was during the whole process of designing & customizing our dream wedding cake. The taste testing session was amazing! With 10 different frostings/fillings and 6 different cakes, it was easy to find combinations we really loved. We were happy with our flavor decisions.
Our wedding cake was absolutely stunning and delicious. Our wedding guests said it was the best wedding cake they have ever had; even those that normally don't enjoy cake loved it. We chose a very intricate and colorful design and they pulled it off flawlessly! Stephanie even offered to place the faux flowers that we purchased on the cake so it would be delivered to the venue decorated! The cake turned out better than expected; I cannot recommend them enough! :)

The best cake!
Stephanie was a pleasure to work with! She was very prompt with questions and with our communications it made the whole process stress free! We had such a fun time choosing our cake and she made it so easy with all the different options and was able to customize the styles from choosing from a few different options so each tier looked a bit different. The tasting included 6 different cakes and 10 different frostings and fillings and were so happy with our decision! All of our guests absolutely loved the cake and wanted more than one piece.
It was so affordable and reasonable for a wedding cake AND delivery we were in absolute shock because it was the best cake we have ever tasted and turned out to be stunning. The process was so easy because they deliver it and put the cake topper on for you if you drop it off.
Choose them for an easy booking experience, reasonable price, and delicious cake! It was so perfect and cannot say enough amazing things about this team and this bakery!

Our venue works with Lovin’ Oven so that’s who we got our cake through. They were easy to work with when setting up our cake tasting and we even had to reschedule it a couple of times. When we had the tasting I was torn between flavors and she got us more to sample beyond what they usually do, so I liked that. My husband didn’t want flowers but I didn’t want something too simple so they showed us several examples. Our cake looked beautiful and tasted great. We had people tell us afterwards that it was a delicious cake too. We hd two layers of red velvet with a raspberry mousse and custard filling and the other layer was a lemon cake with cherry filling and custard. A week before our wedding they reached out to confirm things with me and I changed one of our colors on a whim. They were so helpful and thorough to make sure they got everything right. We’d definitely recommend them to anyone considering them for their wedding cake!!

We booked Lovin Oven for our wedding cake and have zero regrets! The cake was delicious and absolutely stunning. We received so many compliments from guests that it was the best wedding cake that they have had, and was decorated exactly the way we wanted- it was true perfection for us. After our tasting there was a glitch in their old computer system and they couldn’t see what flavors we selected, so they offered us another complimentary tasting and were so accommodating to our schedule. They definitely put their customers first and strive for excellence. You even get a complimentary replica of the top tier on your one year anniversary- something we are looking forward to! We would book them again in a heartbeat!

Best Wedding Cake Ever
I can’t begin to express the delicious, beautiful wedding cake, which was accompanied by outstanding customer service for our daughter’s wedding. Stephanie was a dream to work with the marble cake with tiramisu filling was enjoyed by all of our guests, The special little surprise appearance by our daughter’s dog under the fondant was a sweet surprise. My husband is generally not a cake person but was so excited when we left our tasting, as he thought the quality of the cake was exceptional and the fillings were flavorful without being too sweet. The final cake looked beautiful and was just what we asked for. We were able to split the tiers between yellow and lemon cake, paired with chocolate fudge and strawberry buttercream. Having a Pastry Arts degree myself I was very nervous I’d have to settle on a cake I didn’t love. Not with Lovin Oven! A friend from work recommended them and I will now too! Beautiful location that was easy to work with even sending my mom home with samples to try with my fiancé and I. So, so, delicious and elegant. Our friends and family have called and told us they wished they’d taken more home!! Plus with three tiers you can choose six flavors inside!! We booked with this bakery because our venue had a partnership with them. I WAS SO GLAD. We got a smaller cake because nobody seems to eat the cake at a wedding and 250 mini pastries. They came out more as a late night snack instead of right at dinner because sometimes you aren’t wanting dessert right away. Our guests were RAVING about how delicious the cake and the pastries were. They created a huge variety of so many favorite desserts and there wasn’t a single one left at the end of the night because people were grabbing more as they left. We highly recommend them!

My (now) husband and I weren't going to have a cake this year because we split our wedding due to COVID. This year, we just did a 2-hour ceremony and cocktail hour event, so we were going to save the cake for the reception next year. Last minute, my parents offered to pick up a cake from Lovin Ovens. I called to place my order and did not have much direction--the woman on the phone asked the right questions and guided me through what information she needed. When my parents brought the cake, it was unbelievably perfect! The colors matched my decor PERFECTLY down to the exact shades. It was SO delicious and perfect, and I'm so happy we got the cake last minute.

Lovin' oven was very fast in there response to email. When we went to taste cake they were very accommodating and brought us gluten free options for us as well. They listened to all our thoughts and took our inspiration picture to make sure the cake turned out the way we wanted it.
It was even better than we hoped. We were able to alternate tiers of our cake to be gluten free and regular so we had something for everyone. The gluten free white cake was absolutely delicious! (As was the marble) but it can be very difficult to find a decent gluten free dessert and lovin' oven hit it out of the park!

We had a 3 tier cake, with chocolate cake and peanut butter butter cream, lemon with strawberry, and red velvet for us. They were very accommodating with the tasting and helped us pick what we wanted with the combos and the design. We got our cake from Lovin Oven as part of our wedding package at Makray Memorial Golf Club on July 27, 2019. Having worked in the wedding & event industry for several years, I knew them well and was very excited to have them make the cake for our wedding. We went to their location in downtown Antioch, IL to do our tasting and pick out our design. They were exceptionally patient and helpful throughout that process and had lots of photos and design examples for us to choose from. Closer to the wedding day we had to make some small changes based on the number of RSVPs we had and they were very accommodating and made sure that we had exactly what we needed. Last, but not least, the cake looked terrific and tasted even better!

We had our wedding at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort and we had blueberry pie as our pie we cut into. We also had 7 other pie flavors and mini blueberry cheesecakes. Everyone adored the food and even took the leftovers home! The dessert was amazing that my husband and I went back!!

Part of our wedding package was a customized cake from Lovin' Oven Cakery and we were ecstatic. We had 5 tiers and every tier was a different yummy combination. The only thing that was tough was that our tasting was all the way in Antioch. We received many compliments on the "naked" style cake. Their other pastries are awesome as well.

Exactly what I dreamed it would be!
Not only was the tasting delicious and fun but the staff was super friendly and accommodating. We told them what we envisioned and that’s exactly what we got and more! The cake was beautiful, unique (airplane themed) and delicious! We also had Lovin’ Oven make airplane cookies for our wedding guests to take after the reception and they were perfection! Lovin Oven made us the perfect pretty purple ombre cake that was also delicious! Everyone said they loved it. It was included in our wedding package for the country club, so we only had to pay the up charge for the ombre. Looking forward to getting our top tier re-created for our first anniversary as well!

Our cake was amazing
Lovin Oven was the bakery that was contracted with our venue so we did not choose them but even if they weren't, we still would have chosen them! They made us the MOST AMAZING wedding cake. We had some ideas that are not very traditional for wedding cakes and when we sat down for our consultation we explained our idea, as there weren't really any pictures that showed what we wanted. We left there confident that they would be able to put something together for us but also a little nervous since we had NO IDEA what it would look like. And seriously the cake was EXACTLY what we had wanted. Not to mention that it tasted SOOOO good. We have had a million compliments about how good the cake was and people wished they had larger slices. It was seriously delicious. I will go to them for any cake I need for the rest of my life. The only downfall is that it is quite the drive to get out to where they are located...but completely worth it!

Words cannot explain how much we loved our cake! We did a naked marble cake, with buttercream, and my florist decorated the cake with greenery & floral. I’m not a cake person at all. But after having this cake, I was HOOKED! Our guests loved it as well.

Best cake ever!
Lovin Oven worked with our venue to have the cake included. We are so grateful for this because the cake ended up being the best cake we have ever had. Lovin' Oven allowed us to build the layers with all different flavors and fillings so we weren't held to just one flavor and their frosting was so light. They also coordinated everything with our venue so after selecting the flavors we didn't have to do anything else. The design was also beautiful. Along with our cake they made an smash cake for one of our guests who was celebrating their first birthday which was a great touch! It was a great team to work with and they have a great program to provide a new topper on our one year anniversary. We can't wait to get a fresh cake next year rather than a topper that was in the freezer for a year.

Best wedding cake ever? Possibly.
Not going to lie, we didn't actually choose Lovin' Oven as it's the bakery that partners with our venue and cake was included in the reception cost.
That said, I'm so pleased with this partnership! As part of our food tasting we got a cake sample to-go kit that had a box of popular cakes and a box of toppings. That was great because it saved us an appointment. Only "complaint" is some cake types only had 1 piece vs. 2 & I would have liked another to try more flavor pairings. It was tough to pick as there were so many good choices.
Picking the design was easy. Our venue coordinator presented us with a book of pictures. We picked one we liked. Could I have scoured pinterest to find one? Yes. Was this easier? Yes! The design we picked had an extra fee for some hand-placed edible pearls. When we didn't want to incur the cost, they offered to do dots in buttercream at no charge. Win!
The cake was so good! Lemon cake with raspberry buttercream inside & white buttercream outside. The frosting was so light, I would've sworn it was whipped cream. I brought some extra cake in to work & 3 weeks later a co-worker was still talking about how good the cake was.

Great Cake
I like cake more so than frosting and this place delivers. Everyone loved the cake (we opted for cupcakes) and there were no leftovers. At our tasting we got to try all kinds of cakes and fillings. Everything was moist and delicious. The decorations on them was amazing as well and since we ended up with 4 different cake types with 4 different fillings, they allowed us to have different decorations on top to denote the different.
They were included in our vendor package.

I can't even tell you that Lovin Oven is spot on as always, anyone in Lake County knows this! I was so happy to hear my venue was contracted with them. From our tasting, to telling the wedding staff our vision, and even having them provide the donuts for our donut wall, it was all amazing. Our theme was winter wonderland, THEY CAPUTURED IT from cake to donuts, and the taste, it is always spot on!

I had my wedding at the Westin in Itasca and this is the bakery they are connected with. Boy am I glad my venue worked with a bakery that tastes so good! I was worried that it wouldn't be good since I did not get to choose my own, but it was perfect. The cake was very moist and fresh tasting on the day of the wedding. It also looked awesome! I LOVED it! I brought them two different pictures and told them I wanted a mixture of the two and they nailed it. I also love their option of getting a new fresh layer for free on your first anniversary if you provide them with a high res photo. We were able to eat our top layer throughout the week and not stuff it in the freezer since we knew we'd get a new one later. Bottom line: Lovin' Oven Cakery is highly recommended!

Lovin Oven made us a small cake for my husband and I to cut. I never had bought anything from there but heard great things and have seen their artwork and knew that the day I got married I was using them for our cake. It was an adorable small round cake that they made look like birch wood and put out initials on it with a heart making it look like it was carved into the tree. It was exactly what I pictured. And they don’t only look good they taste good too, also very important! They’re worth every penny! Highly recommend using them as your baker for your big day!

I can't say enough good words about our cake that was made for our wedding. We worked with Alexandra Yates at Lovin Oven and she was fabulous.
When I saw the cake on our wedding day I was blown away. We did a combination Minion / Lego custom cake and it turned out so beautifully. Not only did the cake look great it tasted so good. We received so many compliments on our cake and people wanted seconds even during the evening. The entire cake was eaten. I was just so impressed. The cake from Lovin Oven was included in the cost of our Reception Venue. We ran into a small issue when we went for our tasting. We had made the appointment months ahead of time to make sure I could get a weekend appointment. When it came to the day of the appointment, I called just to confirm that we were all set because I had my parents traveling over an hour to be at the appointment with us. The girl who answered told me she checked the book and we were good to go. Unfortunately when we got there we were not actually in the appointment book and another couple was there for their tasting that was scheduled at the same time. After asking about how that could have happened it turned out that the wedding specialist we made our appointment with had left the company abruptly and apparently took her appointment book with her. They ended up squeezing us in to time between other appointments which wasn't ideal but they did do everything they could to make up for the mix up. The appointment went fine, the cake looked and tasted great the day of and overall I am happy with them.

Most importantly this cake is absolutely delicious!! I decided last minute (about a month and a half before the wedding) that I was going to use Lovin' Oven. I contacted Alexandra and she was professional and quick in her response! My family had previously had Lovin' Oven on other occasions so I felt incredibly comfortable ordering cake without a tasting. Although i never went into their store location, since i choose my cake at the venue, I know their quality is divine. We were able to bring home samples of cake options and an array of fillings to try at home and everything was delicious, it's so hard to choose! Lovin Oven was recommended to me by my caterer. They have the best cake I have ever tasted (try the lemon with raspberry filling, you will not be disappointed). Erica was super helpful helping me choose design and colors, even helped me plan a small surprise for my groom to be hidden in the cake! Best part of all, if you provide them with a high res photo of the cake, they will remake the top layer fresh for you for your one year anniversary (no need to try to freeze and store the cake, which never tastes as good as it did). We still have our tasting coming up, but having reached out to Erica and her walking us through the package we have through our venue, I am very excited that we will be having Lovin Oven Cakery supply our cake. They have a great selection and a beautiful gallery online and I have heard from other people who go to them for other occasions.
Can't wait to try their cake selections!

By far Lovin Oven Cakery has the best cakes ever! Our wedding cake was beautiful and we were very happy with apricot and raspberry filling with butter cream frosting!!

Our cake was the first thing we picked out, even before our venue. We are so glad we went with Lovin' Oven. I was shocked when I walked up to cake when it was time to be cut. It was so pretty I didn't want to cut it! At least we have gorgeous photos to last us a life time!

Lovin Oven is the official bakery for our wedding venue. We just had a cake tasting with Erica. She was absolutely helpful with creating a design. Looking forward to seeing the cake up close and personal.

Lovin Oven was the cake vendor offered through our ceremony / reception vendor. They did a great job from the tasting process, going through design options, to the delivery and setup. I highly recommend Lovin Oven. Their cake was beautiful and delicious!

Our 4 tiered wedding cake was so beautiful & we had so many compliments!! The taste of the cake is unbelievable!! We had 2 different flavors, chocolate with chocolate fudge & marble with strawberries & custard & it was to die for!! The cake is still as fresh tasting as the day we got it 3 days later..moist & soft frosting!! HIGHLY recommend getting your cake from this place!!

Our wedding was at the Westin in Itasca, and they work with this bakery. I could not have been any happier with them. They really worked with what I wanted. It was very simple but elegant. The cake was so moist and delicious. We got so many compliments on it. It was decorated exactly how i wanted it. I would highly recommend them.

I should preface this by saying that we didn't have a choice in cake vendors, our hotel contracts out with Lovin Oven. We went up to the Round Lake Beach location to pick out the cake, picked a very beautiful design and 4 flavors and that was the end of it. And then the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup and I decided to surprise my husband with a Stanley Cup groomscake. I thought that I could not be the first bride with this idea, but apparently I was- they had never done one before. From my first call with Erica, she was confident that the bakers could put together what I was thinking. It was AMAZING. It turned out great. My husband's family and all our guests were taking pictures with it all night.

We used them for our wedding cake. Our cake tasting was excellent. They had everything set up and ready for us to begin! They had great examples to show us and allowed us to mail in a sample of our bridesmaids dresses to match it to the cake frosting color! The cake tasted amazing on our wedding day!

They were so helpful when we came into select the wedding cake for my daughters wedding. They had yummy choices for us to taste.
The cake at the wedding was prettier than I ever imagined. Would highly recommend using them for any cake needs.

Our cake from Lovin' Oven was included in our package at The Arboretum Club, and it was amazing. The cake was delicious during our tasting, but it was EVEN BETTER on our actual wedding day!! They have tons (and I mean TONS) of options for fillings, and a good amount of flavors for the cake as well. It was so delicious. The designs of the cakes are very beautiful as well. We chose one with scroll piping on top of the cake but not on the sides, and it was so unique. I was tired of all the usual wedding cakes, and this one they had was beautiful. They have so many options and will match your colors exactly. We got so many compliments on our cake - both the look and the taste!!

Lovin oven is known for the tastiness of their cake! However, I was blown away by the design of the cake. When I looked through the books of cakes they have done before, I didn't see what I was envisioning. I showed the consultant some pictures from Pinterest and she was very open to the idea. We ended up picking a cake with piping from a picture I brought it in. She made sure to include the picture in our order so the piping would be how I wanted it. And it turned out wonderfully. I was very happy!

We were treated like royalty during the cake tasting. Our consultant Lindsay, was professional and very knowledgable of the types of cakes and combinations of fillings. We were very appreciative of the great help they gave to my and I. They were very flexible in allowing us to help design the final cake trimmings.

My reception place automatically works with Lovin Oven and I am so glad they did! From our cake testing appointment to the final outcome, everything was wonderful! They customized my cake for me and even made parts of our cake gluten free. It looked absolutely beautiful but even more important it tasted excellent! We had so many compliments on our wedding cake.

Went into cake planning with almost no ideas about what we wanted to do! Met with Lindsay once and knew exactly what we were getting. Cake was professionally decorated with just enough frosting and most importantly, absolutely DELICIOUS. We didn't have a chance to eat much cake at the wedding, but are looking forward to trying it on our one year. Is nice that if you are cautious about saving your cake until then, they will re-create your top tier for free at your one-year anniversary.

Hands down the best wedding cake i've ever had. I don't even like cake and looked forward to the leftovers. I have already purchased cakes for other occasions from this bakery and can't wait for them to recreate the top tier (for free!!!) on our one year anniversary! Lots of options and very easy to work with.

The cake was delicious. I really wanted a chocolate cake with peanut butter filling. When we went for the tasting they didn't have a peanut butter filling but quickly whipped one up for us to try. We had a three tier cake with one layer being white cake with raspberry filling and the other two the chocolate/peanut butter combo. Delicious!

A cake from Lovin Oven was included in our package and Kemper Lakes Golf Club. Delicious and beautiful cake. What more could you ask for? They also offer a free mini cake on your one year anniversary if you send them a professional picture of your cake. So great!

Our wedding cake and cupcakes were to DIE FOR! When we took our first bite during the cake cutting, both of our faces lite up with the incredible taste! Almost all of our cupcakes were gone, and they looked better then imagined!

Ordered our wedding cake from here. It was great! Guests really enjoyed it! Lindsay was great to work with and made good suggestions!
Cake ended up being only around $200, which was really cheap compared to some other places.
Not to mention, they have a deal where they will give you a coupon on your first wedding anniversary to recreate your cake topper, which I thought was super cool because who wants to eat frozen wedding cake?
