Best tour guide on the island

The guys that did our tour were extremely knowable and super nice guys. I really enjoyed the trip. I think you should take the trolley ride before you explore the island.

First, the cost is expensive per hour, but I mean, if you want a trolley to take your group around, there isn't a whole lot you can do about that. Second, the driver was very nice. Third, we rented the trolley for two separate hours on Jekyll Island. The first hour went off without a hitch, with the trolley picking up our wedding party at the Hampton Inn, driving them to Driftwood Beach, then driving all of us from Driftwood Beach to the Beachview Club for our wedding. However, the second hour was where things went wrong. We were supposed to have the trolley from 10:00-11:00 p.m. to begin making trips between the Beachview Club and the Hampton Inn to take guests back from the reception. Apparently they mis-communicated the time to the driver, so he arrived at 9:30 p.m. and his last trip was therefore 10:15 p.m. (so his hour would be done by 10:30 pm). Well our reception didn't end until 10:30, and the trolley only holds around 30-40 people, so a lot of people didn't make it onto the 10:15 trolley. He said he would come back for the rest, but we would have to pay. Just what you want to hear at the end of your wedding night. We argued for a second and then were like, whatever, just do it, we'll deal with it later. Well so my mom got left behind, and my dad realized it after we got back to the Hampton Inn, so he said it's okay, I'll ride back with the driver to pick everyone else up. They got back to the Beachview Club and no one else was there... BECAUSE the driver had at some point told someone that he was on his last trip and wasn't coming back. Word spread, and everyone had to pile into our photographers' cars and find rides with other people, so they all found other ways back to the hotel. I was upset with that, because everything was so crazy, we didn't have a chance to explain to our guests that we actually did have transportation with them - we didn't just plan poorly. Anyway, whatever, we got back home after our wedding, called Cap, had him review the email we sent with our required times, and he admitted he had it wrong, and refunded our money from the extra trip the driver made. So he made it right, but just an annoying glitch in the wedding night. I recommend verifying, re-verifying, and re-re-verifying the times if you choose them. I have to admit, it was pretty cool to ride around in the trolley.

We booked Lighthouse Trolleys for two events during our wedding weekend on Jekyll. The first night, we were told halfway through the event that there was no return trolley for our guests (90 people). Finally, our planner was able to get the owner to send an executive van but it took time away from us enjoying our guests to sort with her.

On wedding day, our guests were supposed to be picked up from hotel at 4:15pm with continuous loops for one hour. At 5pm, all of our guests were still in the lobby and the hotel provided shuttles (and called other hotels in the area to send theirs!). Luckily, the guests arrived in time for 5:30pm wedding. I contacted the owner of the business and he told me that the trolley did pick up our guests (despite photos, texts and discussions with our hotel and wedding planner the next day). Lighthouse trolleys seem to have the market on Jekyll and the rides we did receive were nice, however I am not sure any bride wants to deal with this stress moments before her ceremony!!!!!! No refund or apology was given.
