  We couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect wedding venue for us than Leonard Lake Reserve. Remote and tucked away, embraced in beautiful redwoods, LLR allowed us to completely relax and enjoy the stillness with our loved ones without the distractions and busyness of modern day. Hike, swim, paddle board, relax on one of the many decks, bbq, bon fire, celebrate, sleep sound, and repeat. The cabin homes are spacious, kitchens well stocked with amenities, beds comfortable, showers hot. I hear the wifi was good, but no one at our 4 day wedding celebration appeared to be obsessing over their phone or computer anyway. And thank goodness their was no blaring televisions in the background.
  
  We worked closely with Christy the manager of LLR. I had a few phone conversations with her pre wedding which covered any concern I had. She's real, not pretentious, not salesy, not pushy or intrusive, just helpful, ready, honest and available when needed. So while LLR is a beautiful venue, it was truly because of her easy going, gentle approach to assist a large event that made it so relaxing and wonderful.
  
  If you want to slow down for a few days and enjoy a celebration under the stars and redwoods away from the hustle of the city, and if you're comfortable with looking at your friends and family across the table or dance floor or bonfire so you can burn some fantastic memories in your mind, and if you're ok with hearing yourself breathe and laugh and cry because you're having a damned good time with some of your favorite people in the world, then don't miss LLR. You may never want to leave.

  We had our wedding at Leonard Lake last year in September. It was perfect and beautiful and fun and just overall amazing! Christy who manages LLR is the kindest and most accommodating person. We had a little wedding of 45 people and we stayed there all weekend and we swam and hiked and danced and sat by the fire. I randomly found LLR on the internet and it was my first pick as a venue. It is like a sweet little hearth in the middle of the redwoods and it is just filled with so much natural beauty. Also there are plenty of awesome vendors in the area for delicious organic food, lovely flowers, party rentals, etc... LLR is a very special place and we are def going to make it a tradition for us to go up and stay every year!

  We wouldn't change a single thing about the incredible venue, location, amenities, staff . . . every detail at Leonard Lake was better than we could have dreamed up! It isn't for everyone, though: it's a bit of a drive & off of the grid, long driveway, trickier to get vendors, takes more planning to prepare everyone to stay on the property for days, limited ceremony locations for wheelchairs, etc. These things were non-issues for us, but could be for others. The staff is laid back, yet thorough, honest, and reliable. They provide all the basic event amenities, plus many more charming surprises. This is the perfect venue for a relaxed, nature-loving, couple who's guests would enjoy an old-fashioned, mellow, woodsy getaway. It isn't possible to explain how enchanting this property is until you see it for yourself; it's like dropping into a different time in history and a place that nature has somehow protected and isolated from the modern world. Leonard Lake could not have impressed us any more.
