Amazing service and beautiful photos!

Katherine was great, 100% recommend! She was so attentive, responsive, friendly, and most importantly made the experience really fun for us and our family. She helped capture our special day and the pictures turned out beautiful! We are very happy :)

Incredibly professional

We had our wedding June 2021 and being that we had to reschedule our wedding multiple times due to Covid, Katherine was so accommodating. She and Melinda were so nice and professional and you can tell they’ve been doing this for years. Our pictures couldn’t have turned out more beautiful. Thank you ladies for capturing our special day!!!

Sweet Second Wedding

This was the second wedding for us. We both knew that we wanted something special from our wedding photography that incorporated our new blended family. Katherine really captured the love we have for our families and the true spirit of our day. The photos make us cry and laugh, sometimes at the same time! Katherine was incredible to work with. If you want a photographer who will listen, understand and deliver, Katherine is for you. She really cares.

So talented and helpful!

We are so happy that Katherine was our photographer. My mom was helping me with all my wedding planning and I asked her to find me a few photographers to look at. I saw Katherine’s work online and I knew we had to have a meeting. I hired her on the spot. Katherine is really talented, very cheerful and super helpful. She understood that we wanted something a little different and she did a great job fulfilling all of my requests. She took fabulous shots of my wedding day. I love looking at all the photos she captured. I recommend Katherine to anyone.

Katherine was such an amazing choice for documenting our special day. She was kind and professional, but I enjoyed that she knew exactly what needed to be done to capture the images we were looking for. Super Valuable Asset to our Most Special Day!

What do I mean by that, you ask? Katherine helped whip me and my husband into shape from the very beginning - We decided to plan our wedding in a very short 5 months and Katherine was the first one to help ease our very lost and confused minds by racking out the most basic but sometimes confusing part of the day - the timeline!

She really impressed us at our first meeting when she pulled out a PowerPoint presentation to walk us through her process and answer questions we didn't even know we had! Katherine kept in touch with me regularly regarding any important details and would reach out to me first to check in - which we found was a rarity among most vendors.

We haven't received all of our photos yet as we just got married 3 weeks ago, but Katherine sent us a sneak peek preview (okay, super awesome because who isn't dying to see pictures right away?) AND WE ARE BLOWN AWAY.

The pictures came out better than I ever expected they would have. Even though our wedding is over, our lasting memories come to life every time we look through these pictures - they make me cry!!

Katherine and her team are awesome, I'm so glad she ended up being part of our wedding day team. Forever grateful!

Truly Amazing!

Katherine and her team are phenomenal. She went with my crazy ideas for our engagement photos, going above and beyond. For our wedding, she made me and my husband comfortable to the point we forgot she was there at some points. We got some beautiful posed photos as well as photos that capture our relationship as a couple. She responds very quickly and we received our photos promptly

Easy, fun and beautiful

We found Katherine here on Wedding Wire and really glad we did! She made our wedding day easy and care free. She helped us plan our timeline and made sure we got great photos of all the special moments on our wedding day. She helped us feel comfortable and relaxed for our portraits and she made the whole experience of our photography really fun! We love our photos and think Katherine was just great. One of a kind

Katherine is truly one of a kind. I couldn’t imagine anyone else photographing our wedding. She was wonderful to work with! I will never forget how sweet, kind and attentive she was throughout the entire process. She really captured the style we were going for as well as bringing her own ideas to the table. My husband and I got married April 2016. I am laid back and can be disorganized right from the beginning Katherine was so helpful organizing the day and making sure we kept to a time schedule so everything would flow nicely. I can be tense and uncomfortable in pictures Katherine took two engagement shoots to assure I would be more comfortable on the day of the wedding. Katherine takes natural photos that do not look awkward and posed. Katherine was on time not just for the wedding but for every meeting we had schedule she is very punctual. I would recommend Katherine as your photographer to anyone.

Katherine is not only a photographer but also a friend. She were there for me every step of the way on my wedding day. She listens and blows all expectations out of the door. Every bride is picky and wants the best for their wedding day (trust me I know). I’m happy I went with Katherine. The second I met Katherine I KNEW that I picked the right photographer for our engagement photos and our wedding. She cared so much about what we wanted and asked us a ton of questions to make sure she got to know us as a couple. She wanted to know our personalities before even getting to what we wanted along the lines of photos. When the days came, everything so was so well organized: time lines, a list of candids we wanted, family portraits, where and when all the pictures were taking place. She made us feel secure in knowing that out of everything that could go wrong at a wedding, my photographer was definitely NOT going to be one! I had nothing to worry about. When we received our pictures from both events, they were stunning! She took her time and put her loving touch to each and every photo. She was very informative about striking different poses to bring out our best features. I want to get married again just be able to hire her! (I’m hoping to add more photos to my review later. I don’t have a lot on this device. 3 are from our engagement session)

“Katherine was amazing to work with!! I was very impressed with how organized and professional she was during the entire process. I met with her week in advance to plan out the exact pictures we wanted, which was SO helpful, because by the time our wedding day came, I would have never remembered what exact pictures I wanted. Katherine was upbeat, positive and knows how to make you feel beautiful during the whole day. She was even able to deal with my (sometimes) grumpy husband, who is not a fan of pictures. Her turn around time on the pictures was faster than I could have ever expected, and we had a preview of photos to look at during our honeymoon. Katherine was an excellent photographer for our wedding! She was so easy to work with and made our wedding day so fun with no stress. Working with Katherine was an absolute dream. She was so flexible, from following us all the way up to Schuylerville from Albany for our engagement shoot to allowing us to suggest a few shots spontaneously. By the time the big day came along, we felt like she was a part of the family. She understood what we were looking for and delivered big time. We were overjoyed when we finally got our photos back. Katherine was our photographer for our wedding this past August in Lake George. She was very helpful throughout the whole process. We also used Katherine for our engagement shoot. The pictures came out great! It really helped working with her before the wedding so we knew what to expect. On our wedding day she was awesome! She was always there capturing our most important moments. The wedding pictures also came out great! Choosing Katherine for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made during the wedding planning. We would recommend her to anyone! ☺

Katherine was a blessing. With all of my panic attack emails, her professionalism calmed me down. She was great at instructing and put a ton of effort into the photos I wanted. Katherine and Veronica were THE BEST photographers! We could not have asked for a better duo on our wedding day!! Katherine met with us a few weeks before the wedding and thoroughly went over all the shots that we wanted to have on our day. On the day of the wedding Katherine arrived early to my hotel room to set up while Veronica went to my husband's location to take shots of the guys getting ready. Both were a pleasure to work with and made sure all the shots that we wanted were taken. Katherine even helped with my dress while getting ready! She definitely went the extra mile - above and beyond just taking photos!! They are very friendly and professional. We went to a total of six locations, one of which Katherine suggested - it turned out to be such a fantastic location that we never would have known about! The photos are absolutely amazing and we were honestly blown away by the pictures they were able to take. We had so many fantastic candids of our guests that we were able to mail one to almost each one of them in our thank-you cards! We recieve compliments all the time regarding Katherine and Veronica's work.

Please do not hesitate to book Katherine and Veronica for your wedding/events. I cannot stress enough that the whole experience, beginning to end, was fantastic. We are still blown away at how amazing our photos turned out and We highly recommend these two!

WOW!!! Katherine, Veronica, and Leslie were absolutely amazing to work with. From the second we decided to use photography & videography through Cool Cat, we were thrilled. Katherine was immediately in touch with us to start planning and to schedule our engagement session. The engagement shoot was amazing, and we were able to send out our Save the Dates with the great pictures Katherine captured. Throughout the planning process both Katherine and Leslie were so patient with us. Katherine had multiple planning meetings with us, and helped us with our plans even though we changed our minds various times. Katherine was overall very helpful, and even answered questions that weren't photography related. Leslie was so laid back throughout the planning process, and went with the flow with all of our plans. Once our big day finally arrived, I couldn't have been happier with our team. They helped keep everything moving smoothly throughout the day. (Even with the girls running an hour late due to hair/makeup issues!!). Katherine, Veronica, and Leslie were always there during the important moments. There was never a point in the day where I was wondering where they were. Not too long after the wedding day.... we received our SNEAK PEEK!!!! We were absolutely THRILLED with every single image. We have had nothing but compliments on our wedding photos and video. We were having our wedding in Lake George but are not from the area. We decided to start looking for vendors online, and happened to come across "Events by Cool Cat" first. To be honest, after we went to their site, we never looked at another. We were so impressed with there site, it's organization & ease of use, and all that they had to offer, that we knew Cool Cat was who we wanted to do our wedding.

We used quite a few of their services, including their photography. When we meet with our photographer Jenna, we immediately felt connected. It was so clear that she loves what she does, and her work is amazing. She is so easy to talk with and her planning is meticulous. As others have written, she really was more than our photographer; she was a huge part of our wedding and by the end, a friend.

We got the link to our pictures, and immediately I started crying. She captured every emotion, moment, and nuance, and did it perfectly. It was such a busy evening that there were things we hadn't even seen, but Jenna and her team captured them all for us so that we didn't miss a moment. So often,I didn't even notice she was near, but she got every moment.

I can't recommend Photography by Cool Cat highly enough; you will be pleased, amazed and touched by their work and their dedication. The entire organization is 5 star.

My husband and I fell in love with the staff at Cool Cat when we met with them regarding DJ services, which we also used for our wedding. So, when we were told that they did photography too, it was a no-brainer to use Cool Cat as our wedding photographer! We worked with Jenna, Larissa, and Steven, and we cannot say enough amazing things about them! Jenna was our lead photographer, and she was more than just our photographer, she was a friend throughout our whole planning process. She is not only an extremely talented photographer, but she is also very outgoing, organized, friendly, and overall, an awesome person. She was very creative with the angles of the shots that she was taking, while at the same time not at all being intrusive. We didn't even realize that our photographers were there because they were such passive participants while still capturing the countless amazing moments that from our wedding day. We are so happy with our wedding photos. Katherine was really great to work with. She helped us map out our photography plan and timeline and it was like have a wedding planner. Our day got kind of chaotic and the weather really turned bad. It poured all day! Katherine was so relaxed and confident, that we were relaxed too. Our plans for our portraits session got washed out and on the fly, the very morning of our wedding day, Katherine got us the coolest indoor spot for our photos that was even better than our rain plan location. All our photos are great from getting ready to the ceremony and all through the reception, we love them. Her second photographer was great and worked really well with the guys, too.

I can't speak highly enough of Cool Cat. I reviewed them for their DJ services as well. Along with DJing we used them for our wedding videography. The 3 minute "highlight" reel they sent us perfectly caught and described the feel of our wedding in only 3 minutes! Leslie was our videographer and was wonderful. He worked with our photographer Paul Saunders like they were old friends (they might be, who knows!) What's most noteworthy is you barely noticed he was there. There weren't any obnoxious lights or "oh look theres the camera" moments. He was like a fly on the wall just capturing every moment. I HIGHLY recommend him and Cool Cat for any events you might be planning.

Katherine was the perfect wedding photographer! She put both my husband and I at complete ease during our wedding day. She was kind, patient and got all the shots we asked for. She was open to all our thoughts and brought amazing creativity to the day. She stayed throughout our entire wedding and was on the dance floor getting great shots the entire night! After the wedding, our USB with all the pictures broke and Katherine didn't hesitate to get us a new one right away. I would definitely recommend Katherine as a photographer! Both my husband and I couldn't have been happier with her!

Katherine was the BEST photographer I could've ever imagined!!! From start to finish, she was very tentative to all of our needs and made sure everything was done in a timely manor.
We met over the phone a few times before our in person meeting (due to my busy life) and I loved that she was very flexible to phone, email, text, anything, any time of day. She made a wedding day timeline to help us focus on pictures that I wanted to make sure were taken and also threw in ideas of her own using her own personal experiences. The day of the wedding was flawless, and my pictures came out AMAZING!!!!!!! Everyone who sees them has nothing but positive things to say about my photos, the lighting, posing, background scenery, were all just perfect.

Our two photographers were amazing! Cool Cat is such a great company. The girls were very flexible and we able to find great locations (even tho the weather forced us into an inside location they were not familiar with). So far the sneak peaks are amazing we can't wait to see the final package.

Katherine and her assistant Melinda exceeded our expectations for wedding photography. Katherine went out of her way to meet with us and go over the shots we wanted before the wedding, and she even offered to arrive early when we said we'd like to minimize the number of formal portraits taken after the ceremony. Katherine and Melinda made us feel relaxed and helped us to stay on schedule while we were getting ready. They captured some incredible shots throughout the day and night, most of which we didn't even realize they took. Melinda was even kind enough to stick around for a few minutes after the reception to take a few impromptu groomsman shots. Overall we were very impressed!

Katherine was very helpful compiling the timeline for the day and worked efficiently - spending more time on what was most important to us. We were actually surprised by some of the shots we ended up with because we either didn't realize she was there or that the shot was even taken! The creativity across the board was top notch! She worked very well with large groups and a wide variety of ages. The amount of photos we have of our wedding exceeded any expectations we had. We couldn't have asked for anything more!

Katherine and Patti were wonderful! They were punctual, discreet, and were amazing to work with. We focused our wedding on family, and they captured the joy of our day on everyones faces. They also rangled 20 kids under the age of 7 for some photos, a craft in itself! Highly recommend.

Katherine did a fantastic job on our photo journal! She and her assistant were very professional before, during and after our wedding and reception! The photography was excellent and she took many photos from which we could choose. She worked together with us planning the whole day so we could have just the photos we wanted for our books. We liked Katherine from the first time we met and our first impression wasn't wrong. We did both engagement and wedding photography with Katherine. Having engagement photos done first really helped me because I am a bit camera shy. Our engagement photos were fun and by the time our wedding day came, I felt very relaxed. Our wedding photos came out amazing. Her care for the art of photography surely shows through her pictures. Her second photographer was great with the guys and having two photographers meant that we didn't miss any moments. Katherine was professional and very friendly and took all the pictures we wanted.

When I look at the pictures Katherine took at our wedding it really takes me back to the event. She captured the spirit and the joy of the occasion as only a photojournalist could. She was also very respectful of our wishes to make it about the ceremony and the celebration - not the pictures. No staged "candids" with this photographer. If I had not see the many photos after the wedding, I might not have known she was even there. Thanks Katherine!

The service that Katherine and her assistant provided at our wedding was phenomenal. Starting with our engagement photos and planning sessions, she had creative suggestions and clearly understood the style we were going for. On the day of the wedding, many guests commented on how great her service was. Not only did she perfectly capture our day, but she was attentive to my needs as the bride and dealt with the wedding coordinator to make sure all of the shots I had requested happened. The photos came out absolutely stunning! We loved all of them, even those from while we were getting ready which most people choose not to do much with, Katherine was able to capture the excitement of the day and truly told a story about our wedding with her pictures. I loved how each part of the day had different views and angles thanks to the coordination of Katherine and her assistant. We have received countless compliments on the photos we have displayed in our home, and have recommended Katherine Van Acker to all of our friends who have photography needs. She will be doing our maternity and newborn photos as well, even though it means driving from Boston to NY.. she's that good!

We just got to preview some of the pictures that Katherine took. They didn't just come out great, they were UNBELIEVABLE!!!! The quality of these pictures were top of the line they almost looked like they were out of a magazine! Katherine and her assistant were great to work with. We had some very specific ideas/requests for both our engagement pictures and our wedding pictures and they worked with us to make sure those thoughts became reality. She also got all of our wedding pictures to us a little more than a month after the big day which is by far the fastest we've come across when talking to friends who have had other photographers do their pictures. Highly recommend!

We were extremely pleased with the work Katherine produced for our wedding, she stayed in close contact with us throughout the planning stages, was very flexible with what we wanted, and was extremely unobtrusive during the entire wedding day. Perfectly Captured Proposal

Katherine was so helpful in helping me plan this special day for my fiancée. We communicated frequently over email and text leading up to the proposal and she was even kind enough to Facetime me and show me another idea for where the proposal could take place. She made sure to capture some beautiful shots and was able to upload our pictures within 24 hours. I really appreciated the extra sights around Hudson that Katherine recommended that I could take my fiancée to in order to give us a full weekend. I could not have had as successful of a proposal weekend without her help!

Planning a wedding from 3,000 miles away (we live in Los Angeles, wedding was in New York), we had our own built-in fears with working with a vendor who could meet our needs. Katherine came to us highly recommended and we were not disappointed. She made herself available whenever necessary and was very responsive to any inquiries. We never felt like we were a whole country apart from each other during the process. Katherine Van Acker was our photographer for our wedding in October of 2017. We had the pleasure of working with Katherine setting up a timeline and what photos we wanted. Katherine kept us in line as to when and where photos needed to be done and even checked the sunset to make sure our photos would come out in the best natural lighting. The quality of our photos for the sneak peeks were great and once we received in all of our photos, we were more than pleased. Katherine captured photos of happenings that my husband and I were unaware of during our special occasion. Katherine definitely knows what she is doing and how to take professional photos. If you need a professional photographer, we definitely recommend Katherine.
