  Worth Every Penny

  Kate is exceptionally talented at what she does. She’s also exceptionally easy to work with. We could not have asked for higher quality, more beautiful and comprehensive photos to capture our big day. Her x-factors are her incredible grasp on light and what backgrounds will look best as well, her calm, confident, in-control demeanor and her ability to make people feel/look natural in front of the camera. Her Mom, Nadine, who accompanied her as a second shooter is also a joy to work with. We’re super thankful for Kate's work and we can’t recommend her enough! - Devon and Robin

  Best Photographer in New England

  Kate photographed our wedding this past September and I cannot say enough good things about her. She was incredibly easy to work with and helped make our wedding day run so smoothly. We were actually running behind schedule the day of our wedding and Kate ensured that we got all of the photos completed so that we actually ended up having some extra down time before the ceremony. She was also a very calming presence during an otherwise stressful day! We just received all of our final photos and I am blown away by how beautiful they turned out. She captured such special moments and raw emotions. I have already gotten so many compliments regarding how beautiful the photos are. I would recommend her to every single bride. She truly is so talented and worth every penny!

  An amazing photographer!

  Kate was so wonderful to work with! She was easy going and best of all made everything feel so natural and comfortable. She gave us great direction and has such an artistic eye for capturing special moments! We knew we wanted a great photographer for our wedding day and we are so happy we got to work with Kate! Also, Kate was so kind and shortly after our wedding sent us a a handful of sneak peaks which were stunning. We are SO excited to see the rest!!

  Kate’s work is incredible!

  Booking Kate for our wedding was the best (and easiest) decision we made for our wedding. We agreed when we started planning that a good photographer was the most important vendor we would book and Kate exceeded our expectations. From the very first conversation, Kate was so kind, knowledgeable, easy to talk to and made the process fun and stress-free. Kate fits seamlessly into any situation and blends beautiful portraits and casual candidates so well. We are still going through our wedding photos and trying to decide which ones to print because there are SO many and all of them are so good. We could not be more grateful to Kate & her mother for capturing our day so beautifully.

  Great Photographer Choice!

  Kate and her Mother photographed our wedding this past September (09/07/19) in Wiscasset Maine. Despite not meeting Kate until the morning of our wedding, I felt great chemistry from the start.   July Wedding

  Kate photographed my wedding day in early July 2019. The day was easily the most hot and humid day of the summer and Kate was incredible! She was thoughtful and creative and just so easy to work with. Both her and her mom got some incredible detail photos, portraits and candid shots! They captured the day perfectly! Not to mention they are both so sweet! I highly recommend Kate for any of your photography needs! You can tell she truly has a passion for her work and is dedicated to producing the best quality photographs. Thank you Kate!

  Amazingly talented and thoughtful!

  Working with Kate and her mom as a team was fantastic. They are thoughtful, kind, friendly but unobtrusive, and talent artists. Many guests came up to me and mentioned how lovely they were. My family said that they felt as though they were friends capturing the day instead of people we had never met before! Kate was the photographer at a friend's wedding where I was a bridesmaid years ago, and when it came time for my wedding she was my first and only call. I was so blessed that she had the date open! Could not recommend more highly. Amazing artists and truly wonderful experience from beginning to end.

  The best!!

  Kate was the first photographer I spoke to and after our chat, I called off the search! Kate was so easy to talk to and seemed to understand immediately what we were looking for in our wedding photos. Kate hadn't been to our venue before, so she went out of her way to meet us and see the venue in person a couple of months before our wedding...all before she had to drive to Boston for a shoot the same day! Working with Kate and her mom on our wedding day was easily one of the best decisions we made. They are both so kind and warm and made us feel so at ease. Walking around our venue and taking photos with them before the wedding was a lot of fun - even for my husband! It felt like we were hanging out with friends or family and not just someone we had only just met. We got the photos back so quickly, shortly after we got back from our honeymoon, and they really exceeded our expectations. Kate is incredibly talented and did such an amazing job of capturing all aspects of our wedding, from the prep and first look, to the ceremony, to the cocktail hour and reception. I especially love all of the candid shots of our friends and family arriving to the ceremony and enjoying our wedding...she really excels at capturing the natural moments. Kate also recommended a few other vendors that we ended up using for our wedding, who were all great! Thanks, Kate!!!

  Truly Gifted & Professional Photographer

  My largest concern with a Boston winter wedding was capturing the beauty of the day while mostly indoors and at night. Kate's skill with natural lighting generated a phenomenal final product despite less than ideal conditions. The first time I saw the highlight photos I burst into tears. Kate beautifully captured all my favorite memories and moments I had already forgotten in a way that brought me right back to the day. I am still having the hardest time selecting photos for an album because there are so many stunning options to choose from. Kate is truly gifted and wonderful to work with. I am so thankful a friend recommended Kate after an excellent experience for her wedding and I would 100% recommend her to all of you.

  Kate is a dream come true!

  Kate is an absolute dream!! I am an event planner by trade so I took planning our wedding very seriously and was never short on questions to be asked or detailed timelines to be followed and Kate was as responsive and attentive as they come! She is very sought after and busy and it’s easy to see why but you would never know it by her service and attention to her clients. Not to mention we just received our photos back and they are GORGEOUS. We did our engagement and wedding photos with Kate and she understood our vision immediately and took it and ran with it. We didn’t do a first look and so we wanted to move quickly through our photos during cocktail hour and she was incredibly efficient while still making sure we got all of the beautiful shots throughout our venue of which there were so many. Kate makes you feel comfortable right off the bat and even got my husband to enjoy taking a bunch of photos in a row :). We also had the pleasure of working with Kate’s mother on our wedding day who was equally as wonderful to work with and made it even more special. Kate’s warmth and care for her clients radiates immediately when you meet her and I can confidently say she was one of the best and most reliable choices we made throughout our wedding planning!

  Where do we start with Kate Preftakes?! Nothing less than 5.0/5.0 - that's for sure. We were so lucky to come across Kate through a friend's wedding photos that I could not stop admiring. Kate was wonderful from the very beginning. Calming, warm, and so detailed over the first few emails and conference calls. She was very organized and professional and put us at ease right away. We didn't get to meet her prior to our wedding but it was hugs and smiles at first sight. (Her mom/assistant Nadine was a perfect addition as well - so sweet and helpful). Kate was extremely efficient the entire day and even took it upon herself to scope out our venue early that morning. My husband and I both LOVED working with her and our parents/families/wedding party all commented on how fun, easy, and talented she was. We've gotten previews at this point and couldn't be happier with the shots we've seen. She truly captured the happiness, emotion, and energy of the day and did so in the natural way we were hoping for. Can't wait to see the entire portfolio! We highly recommend Kate to anyone out there looking for a wedding/newborn/family/event photographer. Look no further!!

  Kate was fantastic to work with and her pictures were AMAZING! She captured the spirit of our day perfectly, and really wove the scenery of our venue into the shots. During the ceremony she was so unobtrusive.. I didn't even realize she was there! But when I got our pictures back, I was amazed to see how many great moments she captured. Everyone who sees our pictures gushes over them. I can't recommend Kate highly enough!

  Kate was fantastic to work with and her pictures were AMAZING! She captured the spirit of our day perfectly, and really wove the scenery of our venue into the shots. During the ceremony she was so unobtrusive.. I didn't even realize she was there! But when I got our pictures back, I was amazed to see how many great moments she captured. Everyone who sees our pictures gushes over them. I can't recommend Kate highly enough!

  Choosing an amazing photographer was the most important vendor for me and I did A LOT of research before stumbling upon Kate. Once I saw her work from other weddings that she has shot, I fell in love with her work. Not only was she so nice and fun to be around the day of the wedding, she was so professional and on top of her game with any questions I had leading up to the wedding. Kate and her mom shot our wedding and they were so awesome on the big day; my friends and family still can't stop raving about their professionalism and how great they were, and that is before we even got the photos back! About two weeks after the wedding, Kate put up a few "teaser" photos on social media that were amazing, a short while after that she sent us a slideshow and posted a highlight post on her blog. Then, as if it couldn't get any better, I just got all of my photos only a month after the wedding and each and every one of them is beautiful. I'm pretty sure she might be a ninja because I don't possibly know how she had that the time to get so many great photos! We are so happy that we are going to have these beautiful photos as memories of the day for the rest of our lives and can't say enough good things about Kate!

Kate even promptly sent us the links to a beautiful blog post and slideshow from our wedding day, (set to the music of our first dance song!)- it had us in tears!   Kate was so amazing to work with! She was fun, sweet, and stayed calm and delightful throughout the day, even when families made things hectic :) She is one of the kindest vendors you can work with, and does a great job with her photographs. They were a beautiful work of art, and we could not have picked a better photographer for our wedding day.
