The funny thing about a wedding is most people have never planned one before their own and it’s the sort of event you want to get just right. My husband and I used online reviews, blogs, and word of mouth recommendations to find our wonderful vendors and we would like to share our experience. From our home in New York, we spent about a year planning our mid-February wedding at the Coral Gables Country Club in Coral Gables Florida with approximately 115 guests.

We hired Justin DeMutiis to be our photographer for the wedding and from start to finish he was great. Justin’s effort to get to know our personal style in the beginning of the process resulted in poses we felt comfortable with, the questionnaires he had us fill out before the wedding were key in scheduling the shots we wanted, and his overall calm and helpful demeanor was appreciated amidst the stress of planning a wedding long distance. Justin primarily works in the Tampa area, but traveled to Miami for us and even helped us find other vendors with a similar aesthetic and level of professionalism.

We recently received the images from our wedding and they are beautiful. Justin used both a digital camera and a film camera and has an aptitude for working with natural light that results in crisp images with great depth and tone. The photographs truly captured the spirit of our wedding and we’re glad that we entrusted Justin with the difficult task of documenting our special day.

I cannot thank Justin enough for being a part of our wedding day! He was flexible from the very start making a customized photography package for us. He traveled more than 3 hours just for our engagement shoot, and added an extra hour for us at the very last minute. He made us feel so at ease through the entire process, and quickly got back to us with our images! Justin is a creative and talented artist. He captured the essence of us as well as the essence of our home and property, which is where the wedding and reception were held. I am camera shy, mostly because no one can seem to take photos of me that actually look like me. Even friends and family have voiced frustration that they can never get "good" photos of me. Justin was not only able to get great photos of everyone, including me, but was almost invisible while doing so. His unobtrusive presence combined with his discerning eye for what could make great photos allowed for photos we will cherish for a lifetime. We are especially grateful that he was able to capture some great moments with Ralph, who was my father-in-law. Ralph had a blast at our wedding and was the life of the party, which was obvious from Justin's photos. Ralph never met a stranger, including Justin. Ralph passed away suddenly May 27th. He was full of life at our wedding and was until his last moments, plowing the garden, working on his tractor and loving life. Thank you Justin for the memories that you have saved for us to cherish. Thank you for digitally capturing our love for each other, love of our place and love for our friends and family. All of this was easily apparent when browsing through our beautiful photos.

Justin’s photographs are stunning, and he is an absolute pleasure to work with. His background in nature photography was a perfect fit for our wedding at Sunken Gardens. The pictures are clear and crisp, and Justin’s use of lighting is beautiful. The experience of having Justin as our wedding photographer was just that- an experience.
