We had the best experience with Joey Ikemoto Photography for our wedding this October 2025! My husband and I got married at Neighborhood Church and celebrated our reception at Blue Water Grill. Jonathan and Olivia captured beautiful memories of our special day for us.
From the start, they were incredibly detail-oriented. They made sure every shot, angle, and lighting choice was just right. They gave us wonderful guidance throughout the day, helping us feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera. Beyond their photography talent, they were both so pleasant, professional, and genuinely fun to be around. This made the entire photography experience even more enjoyable.

Joey and Jonathan were absolutely amazing! They took the time to coordinate with us beforehand, making sure they understood all of our wants and needs ahead of time to ensure that they would be able to capture all the important moments of our wedding. And we’re so happy with the results! From the little intricate details of the decor, to all the emotion during the ceremony, and all the fun and glamour of the reception, the photos turned out incredible! They were professional throughout, and not to mention Joey’s amazing sense of humor, which really helped to make sure our kids were smiling in the photos. Amazing and fun!
We were so blessed to have Joey Ikemoto Photography shoot our wedding. After looking through his portfolio, I loved his sense of style and design. Sam and his partner were so professional and fun to shoot with despite both of us being camera shy. We just got a look at our preview photos, and they are amazing. On our wedding day, Kevin and Jonathan captured our wedding so beautifully! They were professional, attentive, flexible, creative, efficient, and an absolute joy to work with. Best photo studio!
My husband and I have lived in Old Torrance for three years and have always noticed Joey's studio. When we got engaged, we chose his studio for our wedding photos, and I can't express enough how great Joey and his team are! Joey explained everything thoroughly, including the different pricing packages, what to expect the day of, etc, making the process straightforward. Mr. Tracy, his long-time friend and business partner, communicated with us promptly via email.
On our wedding day, Joey sent his son Jonathon and his colleague, Koa. We were very impressed by their professionalism and talent, especially given their young age. It's clear that Joey is not only a great mentor but also a wonderful father. Joey is attentive and very professional. He made us feel very comfortable the first day we met. He is quick to judge what needs to be done based on the situation. Amazing experience with Joey Ikemoto!
We could not recommend Joey Ikemoto more as a photographer on your wedding day! Joey and his team were incredibly professional and we are so happy with the work product him and his team were able to produce. Joey was very efficient with the short amount of time we had before the start of the ceremony and worked well with our schedule. He even brought 2 extra photographers with him to shoot our ceremony, which we were so grateful for! While Joey and his team were very professional, they were also a ton of fun! Our entire bridal party commented on how great Joey was to work with. Joey was able to get a wide breadth of different shots which really gives life and variety to our album! Joey and his staff exceeded our highest expectations. I knew the photos would be great, but WOW, it’s hard to find the right words to describe just how beautiful they are. Joey and his assistants provided extreme professionalism while at the same time having a very relaxed energy and way of doing things, which helped lower my stress levels. He’s so cool, calm and collected and also funny! They are prepared for everything that can arise, including Jonathon (his son) busting out a pair of scissors when he saw my lace sleeve was snagged.

Joey and his staff did an amazing job with the photography. They work extremely hard and they pay great attention to details. Our extended families all commented on how Joey and his staff made them comfortable and was very sensitive to everyone's needs. Joey is amazing with kids and did get even fussy kids to smile. He has been in business for decades and is a pro. Do not waste your time with amateurs...Joey is the best, hands down. He really tries to create the best results for you. Joey and his team were WONDERFUL! His whole team was professional, helpful, kind, and knew how to capture beautiful moments. My husband and I are not quick to get in front of the camera and were worried about looking stiff or out of sorts; however, Joey was able to make us feel comfortable and really listened to what we wanted to capture (artsy shots and candid moments). Another piece was how familiar Joey was with our venue, Wayfarers Chapel. Not only does he know how to get the best angles/shots, but he also was very well versed with the short timeline the venue allows (2 hours from start to finish). This was invaluable because he made the best use of the time and planned out every moment with us. He even had a written timeline all planned out to ensure we got every photo we wanted. I cannot recommend Joey Ikemoto Photography enough.

We decided to get married at Wayfarers Chapel and knew we had to have Joey as our photographer when we saw the iconic picture inside the chapel’s office! He is very familiar with the location which put me at ease. I wanted sunset pictures overlooking the ocean, and he knew exactly where to take those. He is very detailed and easy going. Joey Ikemoto Photography was incredible! They came so prepared and were kind and professional throughout the entire day. Some bridesmaids didn't have a hair clip, so one of the photographers took out his "emergency kit" and gave her a bobby pin. They went above and beyond to make our wedding photo dreams come true. They knew how to make us and our wedding party laugh and captured authentic, special, and heartfelt moments that are now going to be lifelong memories we can carry with us. Joey Ikemoto is a phenomenal photographer. He was the wedding photographer for my parents when they did their renewal of vows back in 2010 and I asked him to be the photographer for my wedding on May 6, 2023. We were lucky enough to book our wedding photography with Joey Ikemoto and his team! My husband and I had a small wedding at Wayfarers Chapel on May 4th. We received a preview of our photos less than a week after our wedding and were blown away by the beauty of our photos. Tears came to our eyes. Joey and his team were absolutely amazing! They were punctual, funny, and hard-working. Before the day of the event, Joey and his team were quick to respond and flexible. On the actual day, Joey got everyone laughing with his sense of humor and was prepared with bubbles for the young ones. The pictures also turned out spectacular with many beautiful and creative shots of the wedding ceremony and reception and the team definitely put some elbow grease into getting those shots as they helped hold down and readjust our wedding dress in the wind for the best photos and went above and beyond with their photography equipment. Great photographer
What is a wedding photographer?
The wedding photographer is the director of your entire day. He assists you in setting up and keeping your busy time-table for the entire day. From documenting the early preparations, to the “first look”, to the ceremony and the rest, the wedding photographer is the person who is top of everything. He looks for, and captures, the moments that define your day. When the party is over, all you have left are the memories, and the visual embodiment of those memories is your photo album.
There was no part of our special day that was not made more special by our weeding photographer. He helped with timing, to make sure we got just the sunset picture we wanted. He suggested that guests visit the sweetheart table on their way to the buffet, to make sure we got a chance to say hello to everyone, and to avoid those irritating table photos where half the table has to stop chewing and go stand on the other side. He captured the joy and love that pervaded the day, and he nailed the sunset “tree” picture.

We didn't have a wedding planner and were coming from out of town so we had to rely on the expertise of Joey and his assistant. We were married at the Wayfarers Chapel and before the wedding we already knew we had nothing to worry about as he knew exactly what the time constraints would be and exactly where we needed to go. He made sure we got pictures of everyone we wanted and brought us to some beautiful places at the perfect times to make our wedding so memorable.
Joey was fun and made us laugh and smile the entire time along with all of our guests at the reception and our photos were absolutely gorgeous!
Choosing Joey was the best decision we could have made and we have zero regrets, and countless fond memories to cherish.

Joey or bust!
We decided to run with Joey for our wedding photographer and he did not disappoint! After reviewing his photo gallery beforehand, it was clear he had the technical skills to take great photos. During the photoshoots, he was decisive in our shots and provided excellent direction/feedback when needed. He was a consummate professional through and through and it shined especially with his sense of time management. Joey is detail oriented so I expected us to be on time with the photoshoot schedule, which was at several different locations prior to the ceremony. What I didn’t expect was that we would be ahead of schedule! Watching Joey operate during crunch time was impressive. He had a clear vision for each shot/location and executed without hesitation, all while dealing with challenging lightning conditions at times. We appreciated arriving to the ceremony venue earlier than expected so we could take a beat to re-group. Another significant aspect we noticed was his overall presence. Joey was just a joy to be around. He was incredibly friendly and personable which resonated with many in our wedding members and guests. Ultimately, he allowed us to feel comfortable in the space which undoubtedly contributed to a better photo for everyone. Overall, we had an incredible time with Joey and we think he enjoyed our company as well. We highly recommend Joey for your photography needs. A Wonderful Experience!
Joey was phenomenal! Our photos came out amazing, and he made all of our guests and bridal party feel welcome. He's so organized and easy-going, and he gave clear directions for the posing, which was helpful. I loved that he wrote up a timeline for us so we always knew where we were supposed to be and when. We actually ended up 15 mins ahead of schedule by the time we arrived for our wedding thanks to his planning, and my wedding planner was so impressed! Joey Ikemoto Photography was a preferred vendor recommended by our wedding planner. He and his team were gracious and flexible throughout the whole wedding planning process, even after we had to postpone our wedding twice because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We finally got to meet Joey and his team in person on the day of our engagement shoot. Before the photo session, we sat down with Joey to discuss our ideas for the day of the wedding and to draw up a wedding day photography timeline. He was very knowledgeable and really took the time to explain and help us visualize the timeline of events. He is serious and passionate about his craft but his sense of humor is what really made working with him fun and enjoyable. He had us laughing throughout our engagement session and the photos turned out great. On the day of the wedding, Joey and his assistant were true champs for running from room to room on multiple floors at our venue for all the pre-ceremony photos and still managing to stick to the timeline. Mesmerizing Photography, Professional & Top Notch
Joey and his team are simply put AMAZING! From the pre-planning meeting, through the engagement shoot and for the BIG day they were nothing short of wonderful to work with. The professionalism and scheduling was top notch. If you or your partner are bad at keeping to a timely schedule and are worried the day of, have no fear. Joey breaks down the entire time he will be with you to ensure that not only do you end up with the most beautiful and creative photos but that you have the time to get the shots you are truly going to want. We had 7 kids in our wedding all under the age of 7, he managed to get perfect wedding party shots with all of the kids not only looking but also smiling. His right hand, Tracy is also fantastic, promptly communicates and is very thorough. We came in from out of state and they were the easiest and most stress free of all the vendors we dealt with. If you are looking for an incredible photographer look no further. We will absolutely be using Joey and his team again.

Amazing Photographer!
I found out about Joey through my venue. My husband and I met with several photographers and Joey was the one that we felt the most comfortable with. My husband does not like taking pictures! Joey got him to smile and relax during our engagement pictures. When our wedding came around my husband felt comfortable being around him and the camera. He was professional and fun! He did an amazing job with my little nephews and our flower girl. He engaged with all of our guests and made them feel comfortable in front of the camera. My guests are still talking about Joey and our beautiful pictures. Tracy was super helpful throughout the process and was easy to communicate with. I highly recommend booking him and his team!

Two weddings, two great experiences
We worked with Joey two years in a row for both a backyard COVID wedding and a traditional, full-blown wedding. Both times, Joey and his staff were incredibly accomodating and helped us immensely throughout the entire process. From going through the wedding timeline to their incredible photographers scoping out the venue beforehand, the thoroughness and professionalism that the staff showed made our experience wonderful, not to mention, the photos came out amazing! Joey Ikemoto and his team are some of the best photographers in Southern California. From our first conversation to the day of our wedding, Joey was personable, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Not only is he an incredible photographer and artist--he also helped us schedule out our wedding day so that we could get beautiful photo opportunities at different locations without an ounce of stress.

It was an absolute joy to work with Joey and his team! The entire process from beginning to end was seamless. Absolutely Amazing!!
We absolutely loved having Joey as our photographer for the wedding.
The wedding packages are simple and easy to understand. You can pick and choose your own photos and albums you want for the package instead of getting only fixed prints. And everyone in this studio is so friendly and they communicate with you through the whole process.
We had Joey as our photographer and he always has the most positive energy, and he was always making us laugh during the photos. He kept everything organized and provided a breakdown of the schedule of what pictures will be taken and when. We loved that because the time frame helped keep everyone around us organized and on track with what else needs to be done and by when.
He also lets you request specific pictures you want, such as Kevin (the groom) wanted a photo of him and all his siblings while I (Cindy - the bride) wanted a photo with all the little nephews and one with the crowd I had grown up with. This is a little detail I love because not all the groom’s siblings and my little nephews live in the area or even the state, and the crowd I grew up with I do not get to see as often because they have all moved, so getting photos with them was extremely important to both of us.
On the day of the wedding, he came in a 2-man team. It was him (Joey) and another one of his associates named Kevin (funny watching both the groom and a photographer answer when you called out the name Kevin). They arrived early and we loved the energy they came in with. They came prepared for everything that day. They were able to keep my nephews smiling for all their photos with bubbles and great energy and tools just in case anything broke, and they were able to fix something that went wrong with my necklace.
To add to this is Kevin (The groom) and myself have never really taken professional photos, but he kept us laughing and relaxed and was able to ease the nerves, so the photos felt more natural rather than a forced pose.
I absolutely love that they talk to you too while taking the photos. There was absolutely no silence or awkward pauses. All the photos they were giving you ways to move and talking to you, like actual conversation. And they are so nice giving compliments the entire time.
We got the preview of the wedding day pictures a little bit ago and they look AMAZING!!! We could not be happier with the way the pictures came out. He and his team captured some of the best moments and the pictures came out beautiful.
Everything from the engagement shoot to the day of the wedding was beyond perfect. We cannot say enough positive things about Joey or his studio. They were amazing and we could not have asked for a better photographer for our big day.

Natasha and I wanted the best photographer for our wedding. We did a lot of research, read tons of reviews online, visited several studios in the area, but when we spoke to Joey Ikemoto and saw his work at his office we didn't have any doubt! Joey Ikemoto Photography is absolutely the best in the business! We were very impressed by their organization, professionalism, experience, attention to details, and way of working. Professional, Funny, and Efficient
We really enjoyed our experience with Joey, first from our engagement shoot, then later for our wedding day. He met with us before the wedding to discuss his ideas and plan out a detailed timeline. We got married at Wayfarers which was hectic because you only have 2 hours on the grounds, 30 mins of which was the actual ceremony. Given the extreme time constraints, Joey maximized the amount of photos he could get in the time he had. You could tell he is an expert photographer and had Wayfarers memorized like the back of his hand! There were photos that we wanted that didn't end up being taken, but that wasn't because of Joey; it was due to the limited time we could be at Wayfarers and also a limo that didn't show up on time after the ceremony. Bummer for us but the photo previews were beautiful! Joey knew photographing 2 brides wearing dresses with long intricate veils would be even more challenging given the time constraints, so he brought on a second professional photographer, Henry, at no additional cost to us to work with him to make sure our day went as smoothly as possible. We would highly recommend working with him for any special occasion!

I was a fan of Joey Ikemoto Photography long before seeing them on the recommended vendors list at Wayfarers Chapel. I had one of Joey’s photos saved on my phone as a picture I wanted to recreate for the wedding day. So when I learned it was Joey, it was a no-brainer. My husband and I had to have the best!
During the short time we worked together, Joey and Tracy were always responsive to our questions and concerns. I could expect a response from them within 24 hours or less.
Joey is down-to-earth, polite, professional, and FUNNY! When we met with him at his beautiful studio, he was as invested in creating our timeline, ensuring we had time for the photos we wanted, and understanding our wedding photography priorities. It felt like a collaboration with a true professional through a process he has mastered!
Joey and his team received so many compliments from our family and friends. One of our family members assumed Joey was a close friend of my husband and I because he meshed with the crowd so well!

Hilarious and insanely talented
We went with the most affordable package which is supposed to be with an apprentice photographer but we were elated when Joey carved out time himself to be our photographer. He's a consummate professional with a great sense of humor who takes even better photos. Joey and the dream team!
Seriously cannot say enough great things about Joey and his team! They are all so wonderful! We met with Tracy and Joey two years ago to plan our wedding which was supposed to happen in 2020, but thanks to COVID got postponed. Joey and Tracy were speaking with us the whole time and suggested other great vendors which we did go with and the team they suggested just made everything so much easier! We even did our engagement shoots with Joey and will probably do more in the future. We got their photo booth addition which was so fun, they had so many props out wedding guests loved it! Joey and Joanna were our photographers for our wedding day and from what we’ve seen posted in their blog the photos were amazing! We can’t wait to see the full gallery of photos. They were able to make us candidly laugh and knew all the perfect lighting and areas to capture. They were the most prepared team in our entire wedding and really helped us envision our perfect day. Last month, I had the privilege of working with Joey for a wedding at the Maxwell House in Pasadena (I'm a wedding DJ). I had already known about (and admired) Joey's photography before meeting him, and working with him at the wedding turned out to be just as inspiring. His professionalism, positive attitude, and passion for photography were evident throughout the entire wedding. Joey's great with people, and when he organized the guests for a group photo after the Ceremony, it was clear that the guests had fun working with him as well. If you have any doubts, simply look through the photos on Joey's website and you'll see that his attention to detail is nothing short of stellar. Worth it in Every Way
We had the absolute pleasure of contracting Joey and his team to photograph our wedding on June 6th at the Wayfarer's Chapel. We had initially found him through the Wayfarer's suggested vendors and was doubly confirmed when we found out my husband's sister had also used him for her wedding! First of all, we had to postpone our date a whole year due to the pandemic and they easily worked with us on the changes. Second, we couldn't nail down a time to do our engagement shoot because of my husband's deployment schedule and then the pandemic and were still so easy to work with at the last minute.
Neither of us, my husband nor myself, are photographic, center of attention people to the point where it makes us uncomfortable but Joey and his team made everything so easy. Our engagement photos turned out amazing. We don't consider ourselves particularly photogenic but we actually look great! It was a downright miracle. For our actual wedding day, they had our whole schedule laid out for us to work within the tight timeframe the Wayfarer provides. They made our whole day so much less stressful AND fun! Our photos are fantastic and fit our personalities so well. Take a gander at our preview below and see how amazing they are. If we have any other life events, we're looking forward to seeing Joey again. We might even pop in for a Christmas photo or two.

Gorgeous photos for a unique occasion
The whole process was made easy by Joey Ikemoto Photography! He and his team met with us to walk through a “day of” schedule, our engagement shoot, and even how to put together the album after our wedding day. The whole team was kind, compassionate, and patient with our numerous questions and ever-changing plans due to the pandemic. They were always punctual, professional, and had wonderful recommendations regarding photo locations, poses, and provided us with many different photos to commemorate our special day. Thanks to Joey’s suggestion, we ended up taking our couples’ portraits at a gorgeous ocean bluff nearby and now have the most amazing photos to remember our wedding by. Joey Ikemoto’s team did a phenomenal job when photographing our November wedding. Even during COVID, the team made sure to stay connected and work with us when we had to change our wedding date due to closures in June. When the wedding day arrived, Sam and his assistant, Jeremy, did a wonderful job taking natural photos, and making sure everyone was comfortable with their lively and jovial demeanor. Many people, including us, were not entirely familiar with how to stand or act during photo shoots or candid shots. However, many commented how they felt comfortable and happy when being photographed. They were very thorough, and took photos of everything we asked for without any hesitation. Simply put, Joey, Tracy, and the whole team are amazing. My wife and I could not be happier with the results of Joey's photographs from our recent wedding at Wayfarer's Chapel. With our whole engagement/wedding occurring during Covid, Joey and Tracy could not have been more awesome and accommodating. Not only are they personable and friendly, but their work is top notch. They are always available, respond promptly to e-mails and phone calls, and the end product speaks for itself.
As for our wedding day, Joey is hilarious and had everyone comfortable and smiling in front of the camera, which shows in the photographs. We cannot wait to get our photo album and framed photos, and we will cherish the work Joey did for the rest of our lives. I cannot recommend Joey and his team more highly!

Gorgeous photos
Joey Ikemoto came highly recommended for our daughter’s wedding by the reception hotel, and his online portfolio photos confirmed the excellence of his studio. But we were most impressed when we met with Joey in person, and found him to be warm, down to earth, and blessed with a great sense of humor. Throughout the months leading up to the wedding, he was very helpful - his timeline suggestions made it easy to plan the wedding day events - and he and his staff, especially Tracy, were always responsive to questions and concerns. When COVID restrictions resulted in churches being closed, our daughter had no choice but to postpone her wedding. Joey put us at ease, and worked with us patiently through all of the constantly changing restrictions, including the need to move both the church ceremony and reception outdoors. Meanwhile, Joey worked with our daughter and son-in-law to put together an engagement photo session, and the resulting photos are just gorgeous. We were impressed with Joey’s artistry, and his ability to capture the couple at their best. It was difficult to choose our favorite photos from the gallery - they were all so beautiful. On the day of the wedding, Sam was our photographer. He was amazing. Throughout the entire day, he and his assistant Jeremy were constantly active, yet not intrusive. They even helped with putting on corsages and boutonnières! They were masters at getting candid shots without the subjects being self-conscious. They made sure to capture the moments that were most important to us, and did it with beauty and artistry. They were very creative in making the best use of the locations. The resulting photos are stunning! They were also fun to be around, and we received compliments from the wedding party, family, and guests. We are grateful to Joey, Sam, Jeremy, and Tracy for going above and beyond in capturing our daughter’s wedding under difficult conditions.

Best. Wedding. Photographer. Ever.
Joey, Sam, Kevin, and Tracy are amazing and wonderful to work with! Sam and Kevin photographed my wedding, but Joey, who is the owner of the studio, was directly involved every step of the way. Tracy heads up the office and made the whole process – booking, contacts, billing, etc.- easy and seamless from start to finish.
We’d initially planned a big wedding with a formal ceremony and reception, but had to change the date and then to a small private ceremony and no reception due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Joey and his team were especially accommodating with all the changes we had to make.
At our wedding Sam and Kevin made sure to get all the photos of the ceremony, the family/friends photos, and fun photos, but they also took some beautiful art photos that look like they belong in magazines! Looking at my wedding photos now, their work exceeded all my expectations! My husband and I will cherish these photos always.
Please know that the few words written here really don’t do justice to what’s it’s like to work with this photography studio. They really are terrific and they really know what they are doing. For anyone reading this who is looking for a great (not good, but great) photographer, you can't go wrong with Joey Ikemoto Photography. I can't recommend Joey and his team enough! I am so lucky to have booked them for my wedding!

Beautiful pictures
Getting married can be very stressful given all of the planning, including choosing the right photographer for our wedding. They're were too many to choose from. We just wanted someone whose well known for their work. While we were at a meeting at our wedding planners office there were many pictures on display of prior wedding ceremonies and a few particular pictures stood out and caught my wife's eye. She wanted to know who took the photos and our wedding planner mentioned Joey from Joey Ikemoto Photography, and that he had come highly recommended by many. She also mentioned that he frequents taking wedding pictures at Wayfarers so hes familiar with the landscape and knows all the ideal places to take great pictures. My wife and I knew right then we had to have him shoot our wedding. We hired him and had no regrets. During the times we interacted with Joey he was funny, well organized, and very professional. Amazing Photographer and Photos
Joey and his team were amazing!! We met up with him before the wedding to go through the entire wedding timeline, what were important shots we needed to get and any important moments they should not miss. On the day of, we stuck to that schedule and he also helped out for a lot of little moments, such as bustling my dress!! Worth Every Penny!
This was one of the best decisions we made. In addition to taking the most beautiful photos, he also put my (now) husband and I at ease during the engagement shoot and during the wedding shoot - and taking couples photos was not something we were used to doing. Working with him was so easy and he literally printed the wedding photo samples I had on pinterest and used them for reference on the day of the wedding. The only advise I would give is to know the kind of shots you want taken so you can discuss them in the prep meeting. So Amazing!!

Best Photographer in Socal!
My family has been using Joey’s photography services for generations (moms, aunties, and brother all hired Joey as their wedding photographer), and all of us recommend him to our friends/family who are getting married or are in need of a nice family portrait. He has done thousands of weddings and knows the flow and timeline of a wedding by heart, and helped give us an outline for our wedding during our planning session. He also put in a fun game during the wedding so that my husband and I could get all of our table photos in time (all table photos to be done in two songs), and our guests told us later that they thought it was a great idea! Joey knew how to make my husband and I feel (more) comfortable when we were displaying PDA in front of a camera, and he knew the poses that would make us look the best. We will cherish the photos from our wedding for a long time.

Joey and his team are not only some of the best photographers in California, they go above and beyond to make sure your day is special and literally helped save our wedding.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Joey my entire life as he took my first studio photo when I was only 1 year old. I knew without a doubt that when I got married, I would go to Joey first to see if he could shoot our wedding. Having had decades of familiarity with Joey’s professional work, warm personality, and photography experience, it was obvious who would be best suited to capture my wedding day and I was so internally grateful that he was available. However, little did I know how much my wife and I would end up relying on him and his team the day of our wedding.
Long story short, my wife and I had the challenging task of planning a large, 3-day wedding. To say it was stressful would be an understatement, as we struggled with coordinating and organizing multiple vendors, let alone family. However, Joey was one of the only vendors we knew we could trust without a doubt be timely, communicative, and responsible throughout the entire wedding process.
Even though I already knew Joey would do a fantastic job, he went beyond his duties essentially being prepared for anything leading up to and on the day of our wedding. He sat down with us months before our wedding day(s) to help coordinate our events and organize our shooting schedule to ensure we had the best locations and lighting. Joey ran through our visions and sample photos to meet our expectations and helped ensure we included all the important portraits with family and friends. Joey even drove all the way to Dana Point and scouted our venue days before our event to assess the best photo locations and daylight timing. It was this attention to detail that truly exemplifies Joey’s passion for photography and commitment to producing the best and most memorable wedding photos, as well as his years of experience.
Furthermore, Joey helped in nearly every time of crisis on the day of our big event. When something fell apart or needed to be cut/repaired, Joey was already prepared with a vast toolkit of emergency wedding supplies. When moments got stressful, Joey and his team were there to help calm us down and take a break from the situation. And when our wedding schedule got delayed and we lost daylight for our couple photos, Joey and his team were already prepared with alternative lighting and photo ideas and created some truly beautiful moments we will treasure for the rest of our lives.
My wife, family, and wedding party cannot provide a higher recommendation for Joey and his team as they were responsible, professional, and compassionate throughout every step of way. I cannot thank Joey enough for everything he did for us as he was truly the most reliable, prepared, and caring photographer I know, and we certainly look forward seeing him again when we use his services again in the future.

Joey took our engagement photos, and it was a ton of fun. He kept the conversation going and made sure we felt comfortable throughout. On our wedding day, Sam and Jonathan captured all the beautiful moments of the ceremony and reception. They were not just photographers, they were also creative directors, and bouquet and bustle assistants. Throughout the entire project, our main administrative contact was Tracy. And he was amazing - he was very quick to reply and thorough in answering whatever questions we had. We love our photos and had a really hard time trying to limit our photos for the album. If we had to do it all over again, we’d still pick Joey Ikemoto Photography in a heartbeat.

I want to personally think Joey for his excellent work. Selecting Wayfarers Chapel for a dusk wedding poses photographic challenges that require unique know-how. Having reviewed several photographer portfolios, Joey Ikemoto’s work stood out, especially regarding his artistic proficiency in low light settings. …not to mention his familiarity with every facet and nuance at Wayfarers facility.

I am so glad that I selected Joey Ikemoto as my photographer! While I was having a Planning Meeting at Wayfarer’s Chapel, Joey was highly recommended, and I can see why! Once I was shown some photos of his work, I knew I had to ask him to capture my special day. He met with us to do our engagement shoot and help us plan a timeline for our special day. We got married at Wayfarers Chapel and had our reception at Le Foyer in North Hollywood. Sam and Jonathan photographed my wedding at the Turnip Rose Promenade. I had seen photos from their previous work at that same venue and was happy with it. Decided to book them immediately. The Best Decision
I feel as if I could write a novel-length thank you note for both Sam and Jeremy from Joey Ikemoto's team. They were an absolutely integral part of our wedding day and were like family by the end of the evening.
Several people - including a bridesmaid, my mother, and my newly minted mother-in-law - have taken professional-level photography classes (they're all actually quite good) so I had a fear that they would be stepping in to intervene and offer amateur opinions at various points. Within 30 minutes of Sam and Jeremy arriving, each of those three family members came up to me separately to say that they'd be leaving their cameras behind because both Sam and Jeremy anticipated key shots before the women in my family even had a moment to call it out. They didn't need any direction whatsoever - and they didn't miss a single thing. They were fun and creative on the fly yet showed utmost professionalism.
I haven't even seen the photos yet and I already know that they will be cherished for a lifetime based on the angles, the lighting, and the way that they posed Philip and me. We felt natural around them (well, that's a lie, they made us feel like movie stars) and have no doubt that will show in the finished product.

We chose Joey Ikemoto Photography for our wedding this past September. I remember coming across a photo taken at night in front of “The Glass Chapel” in Palos Verdes and thought, this is our photographer. Traci was very welcoming and kept us promptly informed of all our meetings. Sam was our photographer. He was very efficient and made sure to follow the lists of photos we really wanted. He honestly felt like our family member taking our photos, he made us feel comfortable and listened to what we really wanted. He was also very patient and accommodating when we wanted to switch things up last minute. Joey and his team are truly amazing. We received a preview of our photos and they are just stunning. Joey Ikemoto was the best photographer we could have asked for! He met with us about five months before our wedding to do our engagement shoot and help us plan our day. We got married at Wayfarers Chapel and had our reception at the Hyatt Regency in Long Beach, and because Joey knows the area (particularly the chapel) so well he helped us create a timeline of 15 minute increments that worked perfectly on our wedding day! Joey was our photographer, and his son Jonathan was his assistant. They were both so organized and personable, and Joey kept us laughing the whole day. The pictures turned out beautifully, and now we have the difficult task of figuring out which beautiful pictures to choose! They were so incredibly professional and entertaining, qualities that you can rarely find in conjunction. Wedding planning is stressful and confusing at times but after my husband and I met with Joey and his team I instantly felt relief! We knew we were in the best hands, he made us feel comfortable and we knew if nothing else went right that day that at least we would have beautiful photos! We were married at Wayfarer's Chapel and we wanted a photographer who knew how to capture the beauty and the light there. Our planning session before the wedding completely put our minds at ease. Our photographer was Sam and he and Joey went through every minute of our ceremony with us, not a detail was left out. On our wedding day Sam and his assistants were beyond professional, so nice and complimentary and very fun and easygoing, we loved working with them. Joey is amazing!
Joey came highly recommended. Joey did our engagement pictures and wedding pictures. Between the 2 sessions he took over 2,000 pictures. He is super fun and was always making us laugh to get a genuine smile. HE DID AN AMAZING JOB. He makes it difficult to decide which pictures to purchase because they are ALL really good. I would definitely recommend using Joey.

One of the BEST decisions we made during wedding planning ...
Choosing Joey as our Photographer was one of the best decisions we could have made. Not only did he capture all the candid shots I wanted, he also encouraged me to create and share a Pinterest board of moments I wanted to capture with him before the big day ( i.e. The first time my husband saw me walking down the aisle, ) so that it was clear what shots were important to us.
The day was planned in 15 minute increments by Joey ahead of time which made it easy for me to share “the schedule” with the rest of my vendors. While I thought this was excessive (even with my “type A” personality) this was the BEST thing that we could have done because I did not have to worry about people not knowing what to do / where to be and could truly be in the moment .
Joey knows exactly when to step in and give good advice to get the photos you want while still somehow fading into the background, which made me forget sometimes that he was even there! He also worked VERY well with our videographers and they were able to coordinate some one-on-one time and not get in the way of each other.
Joey is BEYOND talented and worth every penny. Very Professional – great personality to be around on one of the happiest days of your life – and captures exceptional photos so you can relive the day over and over forever.

The photographer you NEED on your wedding day!
Joey Ikemoto Photography captured moments throughout our wedding that we will be able to cherish for years to come. His creative and fun nature allowed for unique one of a kind photos. My husband and I knew we were in good hands after our first meeting with him and his staff. They walked us through their different packages and were very responsive to emails. Joey also provided us with a "wedding day" timeline which was extremely helpful and greatly appreciated. High quality, friendly, and professional photographer
My wife and I used Joey Ikemoto Photography for our wedding at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center in Palos Verdes on April 6, 2019. Some of our friends used Joey as their photographer a few years earlier and the photos were great so we felt good about moving forward without shopping around.
We met with Joey one month before the wedding and he helped establish a timeline for our wedding day. The meeting was very fun and Joey is great to work with. He helped to suggest a location for our "first look" shots as well as an area to get beach background shots.
Sam was our photographer for the wedding. We started out at a nearby hotel and then did some lovely beach shots before heading over to the venue. Sam was very friendly and professional. I personally am not one for taking a lot of photos and Sam was always good about making sure things ran efficiently and kept things moving in a positive way. He helped select my tie color that would work best for the photos and was always willing to step in and help any way he could. Thank you to Jeremy as well who assisted Sam and delivered the same friendly and professional services.
We got really lucky with the weather during our event and Sam made sure to capitalize on the ocean views and sunset. Sam was able to get several candid shots in addition the traditional more posed photos. He captured several great shots of us, our friends and family, and the venue. It was a beautiful day and a fun event, we're so happy Sam was there to document the day. The photos have turned out wonderful and we are very happy with Joey Ikemoto Photography. We would highly recommend their services.

Joey is a true artist and photographer
Joey was amazing! His pictures are truly art! He was professional and a huge joy on our special day! We ended up getting amazing sunset pictures too! His staff members, Tracy helped a lot with helping us choose some amazing pictures. We ended up with over 1,000 pictures to choose from, and I have to say most of the 1,000 were incredible! We would highly recommend him and his staff!

Amazing Photographer
How do I give Joey more than 5 stars? It's hard to express in words how amazing Joey is -- as a person & as a photographer. My husband, family, and friends loved him and how passionate he is about his work. He is absolutely hands-down the best photographer I have ever dealt with! He works so well with people and was especially kind with my husband and I. He knows just the right angles and just the right positioning in his photography as well as perfect timing of the right light needed in photos. It was nothing but a positive experience with Joey and I highly recommend you to use him for your photos as well! He put all of our needs first before his own and it was overall an outstanding experience.

Great experience!
My wife and I had a great experience with Joey and his team. Joey took our engagement photos and consulted with us to get a plan for the wedding photos. Sam and Nate photographed our wedding at Wayfarer’s chapel and reception at Catalina Kitchen at Terranea. All our photographers were very familiar with our venues and helped us to navigate the strict time limitations and photography rules that those venues imposed. In addition to being knowledgeable, organized, and professional, the photographers were all very personable and coaxed great photos out of me despite the jitters. Tracy was very helpful and communicative with the administrative side of things. Highly recommended!

I've chosen your photographer for you
If my words can influence a decision about choosing a photographer at all, please know that it's likely impossible to choose anyone more professional, courteous, inspirational and artistic than Joey.
He used his wacky humor, endless charm and boundless love for his life's calling to invite my now wife and me into the greatest pictures we've ever taken.
We were naturally intrigued by the photos of his works available to be viewed, but upon meeting him, we felt instantly at peace. There's zero reason to even do any comparison.
He made my wife feel more beautiful than she ever has in our wedding day photos, allowing her to feel deeply at ease with what could sometimes be a stressful day. I've never felt more confident in a photograph looking as good as it possibly could.
Throughout our wedding planning, we were told multiple times by different people involved in the process that when they heard we chose Joey, they said they had done the same and it was perfect for them.
Joey had our day measured down to 15-minute increments, squeezing every photographable (it's my word, dammit) moment into his camera. Even his assistants marveled at some of the compositions he selected.
We could not have wanted better photographs, and the greatest day of our lives will forever live on because Joey Ikemoto existed. If you've ever found yourself to put even a modicum of trust in a stranger on the internet, take this advice and hire Joey. The word "regret" will no longer be in your lexicon.

Amazing Photographer!
I was thrilled with Joey Ikemoto photography. From our first meeting through receiving the preview of our photos. Sam was AMAZING! He has a great eye for photography. His personality really got everyone laughing and made it so that the photos seemed natural and less posed, which I love! Amazing photographer!
Joey Ikemoto is an amazing photographer and did a fabulous job of capturing our beach wedding on camera. Truly outstanding!
WOW! Joey Ikemoto captured the most incredible sunset pictures at our beach wedding, combined with a broad range of photos throughout the day – from smiling to dramatic to candid and fun! Joey Ikemoto offers a rare mix of technical ability and outstanding people skills. He worked with the family to bring out the best in them (and us) like a true professional. A few weeks after the wedding, we were provided with a selection of some of the best shots that were colour corrected to really make them pop – along with the full catalogue of over 1,300 shots – the majority of which were excellent with a few being truly outstanding! Thanks Joey Ikemoto and the team for giving us memories that we can look back on and cherish for years to come.
